Well usually having to climb tall walls while being fired upon usually works in the defenders advantage. But with those large one eyed creature able to hurl large boulders, the goblins have now the means to make a breach into the walls to allows their large numbers. And if they have a elite squad that can charge at the front they can try to break the defensive line of those place behind the breach in the wall. Lord Midway said that during the last night attack we participated in they had shown a surprising good amount of coordination and tactical warfare. We tried our best and it was yet no good enough. The best we can do is to report that information and continue with our current mission he says sighting heavily.
Elenzar the Bastard |
"Our diective was the South, to note and disrupt supply chain if we could. That hasn't changed. Though we should report that we have learned that Crag is on his way to lead the army. That might change things. Perhaps he is known and changes in military leaders reveal the enemy's priorities."
Ye Old Storyteller |
That's true, you were about halfway on there...
Leaving the battleground behind you, the mists clear up within the hour and you make for a rather safe looking copse of trees at the edge of the woods. The trees look twisted and old but something radiates serenity off of them.
Around a small campfire, Arvinth's voice comes crackling in around the small camp you've made. After a few moments of small-talk, Taliesin explains the encounter. Arvinth remains quiet at first and then his voice comes back furiously.
"Crag Hack?! You've met and fought Crag Hack?! My boy you're either the bravest fool I know or the dumbest of them. He is a legend among the barbarian peoples, coming from across the seas from Enroth. The man has fought and led countless battles, fought in several wars. That I'm still talking to you some might call a miracle."
A short silence follows and then Arvinth comes back through again.
"That Krewlod would send such a general to lead this goblin rabble and the rest of the army is troubling to say the least. They want to make sure they capture this town I'd reckon before many words come out. Lord Midway has me busy producing alchemical supplies as quick as I can now, I even have some herbalists working together with me. When they attack we're trying to be as prepared as we can be for them."
If you've got any questions for Arvinth just ask them, he could hear you all.
Ye Old Storyteller |
"Lord Midway is of opinion that digging pits might be too time-consuming. Though he is reinforcing the south and west side with stakes so the goblins can't quite storm the castle walls blindly. It should slow them down at least some. Perhaps I still have a few ideas for us as well. Taliesin my boy, I would seriously ask you to reconsider another challenge. It would be the same as if I would challenge Solmyr Ibn Wali Barad or even Gavin Magnus himself. Keep going south, my scrying orb tells me that there is something important there. Something glitters in the dark, soot-stained firepits of those goblins."
Nathaniel Thames |
"Arvinth, i can understand that. Though you'll lose those stakes and walls easily to those cyclopses, they'll surely start hurling boulders at the gates and walls. Any archers up there would be knocked down and away."
Elenzar the Bastard |
"Perhaps this name 'Monn' on the goblin map we found is what you see in your visions Arvinth. We believe they are building weapons to the south of our current it certainly is part of their supply network."
Ye Old Storyteller |
"I don't think it's gold Taliesin, it has a wrong shine to it. That name Monn might very well be a name of their weapon facility or something, cutting at least that production off might help out in the long run. Not the immediate danger of course, but it would slow their supplies I think, good thinking Elenzar. If that's where they forge weapons and armour, perhaps that glittering is there as well."
David Trufant III |
David, once he sees everyone is at least breathing and not dead he takes a big breathe and exhales; knowing that they are in deed lucky. He grabs his wand from his pack, and starts using charges to bring everyone to full strength.

Anyone else I may have missed please speak up :)
I may not know much about who Crag Hack is, but I do believe in destiny. Destiny has kept us alive for a reason, whether that reason be to take out the legendary Crag Hack is unknown yet, but we ALL has a destiny to fulfill, and fulfill it we shall. Arvinth, you better stay alive friend, you still have much to teach both Taliesin and myself. I lost my father, I have lost enough at such a young age, I cannot lose you or my friends as well.
With those words, he eats, and tries to get some sleep. There is a long journey ahead through the woods tomorrow to reach their destination in a timely manner
Ye Old Storyteller |
The first two days of further tavel overland towards the northern mountain regions of Krewlod pass quite uneventful, though the perceptive eyes of Elenzar and Forfax pick up dark shapes flying far to the east, they look like birds but bigger.
There's the occasional lone wolf, but most of them leave a party of 5 alone, not wanting to try their chances. The tracks of the carts are increasingly more difficult to follow, the harder and rockier the underground is getting, though halfway through the second day the tracks are leading into a crude path into the mountains.
Perception DEFNT: 5d20 ⇒ (13, 12, 2, 16, 15) = 58
On the third day of travel, after going up quite a steep rocky hill, Elenzar's ears are the first to pick up the goblin language spoken further down in the valley, Taliesin and david are quick to follow and Nathaniel picks up the sound quite early as well. A few minutes after, several goblins pop out from the forest, some 70 feet in front of you, they're lolling and talking quite loudly and don't seem to have noticed you yet.
Elenzar the Bastard |
"The village where we found the children. They produced a metal powder. Contact Arvinth and mention to him that Monn one of the Goblin leaders is trying to build a weapon any information might help. "
Ye Old Storyteller |
The goblins don't keep standing, they're moving further westward, following the road. They've actually moved about 20 feet further down the road as you were talking.
Moving stealthily towards them is moving at half speed, you won't be able to catch them.
WASL: 4d20 ⇒ (18, 13, 16, 19) = 664d20 ⇒ (1, 5, 8, 6) = 201d20 ⇒ 101d20 ⇒ 2
Ye Old Storyteller |
The goblins seem to talk and laugh a bit, but still two of them stop in their tracks and turn around as they talk about hearing a sound.
They look back and see Elenzar trying to sneak up on them through dry bushes and snapping twigs.
Startled and alarmed they scream for their fellow goblins.
The one with the longsword turns and walks back to the front facing Elenzar's direction and sees the outline of some of the others higher up as well.
The four archers fire a volley at Elenzar.
Attack vs Elenzar with cover: 4d20 ⇒ (17, 1, 12, 17) = 47 Two arrows sail past him, but two other arrows manage to pierce his armour and hit him in the shoulder and upper arm. Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8

Round 1
Forfax --> We're here
Elenzar -->
Goblins -->
David -->
Taliesin -->
Nathaniel -->
The road down doesn't go in a straight line, the path isn't difficult terrain, but the grass-covered rocky terrain beside it is. The goblins are about 90 feet away from you using the path or 75 feet away in a direct line.
Edit: Elenzar and Taliesin are 60 feet away, but have to cross 10 feet of difficult terrain first.
Taliesin Flamel |
Forfax kill those archers, david too please if you can. he says rushing toward the first goblin line with weapons in hand.
So Taliesin is rather slow to react to the fact that now there are two arrows sticking out of Elenzar... :(
