Game Master Lord Grey

Chapter 3 - Circling Sharks

The storm spins overhead. Lightning crashes, fiery explosions cast red glares in brief bursts over the city. Freezing rain sweeps the streets, and the cities' dazers shamble toward the lightning struck house.

I feel like her core knowledge could be about pretty much anything, since she was formally trained and educated.

That's fair. I based yours and Grellik's off of outstanding knowledge checks about specific niche subjects that you just happened to make. Because of this, it can be about topics that you wouldn't expect from your character, but would make sense.

Basically put, it acts as character development within the story, and I kind of like using it that way. Giving Trissae a Drow thing for Drow sake cause she's a Drow, isn't particularly interesting, nor does it act as character development.

Additionally, there is something interesting about letting these form organically instead of forcing it, but that will always be unlucky. That's why I'm bringing it up now, since random chance is such a big factor for these things, it would be expedient to make the 3rd person to earn their Core Knowledge about something, just get it sometime soon after #2 got theirs, when something seems relevant. No roll, and we'll spend less time letting something just naturally happen.

Trissae, any thoughts?

Adrien is right, Triss has had a privileged upbringing that has provided her lots of educational opportunity. I think the real difficulty is that Triss is a bard, and therefore has a reasonable chance at lots of nuanced information, where as its a little more surprising for fighters/rogues/etc. (in our example here).

At first I was like "yeah, the drow thing makes sense" but I kinda don't feel that quite now. The reason for that is that the whole "oooh drow" sense is relative, for Triss to know some societal or historical tidbit about the drow the others don't know is like Grell knowing something of that sort about Bugbears. I think it feels like eccentric information only because its not common knowledge to "us" but it wouldn't be that surprising in the DnD world really.

I'm honestly fine that it hasn't shown up yet, or that it might not at all.

I'm taking the angle that the bolt came down right as they were parting hands but Triss still had the sword in hand, and so the bolt crashing down straight on top of her would just slam her back down, instead of blasted away (where as Ozz was off center from the blast and not tethered)

HP 27/72, AC 17, Init +0, P.P. 13[darkvision60], Saves: S+8, D+0, C+6, I+3, W+4, C-1, Spell Save DC:15

If Grellik were to try to communicate with Feng, would it steal Tris' scene? This is sort of a special bit between the two characters, so Grellik can focus on being a lookout if it would step on toes.

Also, fairly? seven? I don't think many Disney characters come from dominatrix elf cultures :D

Trissae: Hmmm..... 6.5, as I don't think you've perfected your Miguel

(I always forget about the Road to El dorado comparisons! Trissae = Miguel, Cavell=Tulio, Ozz=Horse. I wonder how Grellik fits in to this...)

Grellik: I don't mind. We'll just slow Adrien down a step so you can get in your side of the talk before heading upstairs too far. Honestly, I'd say do what feels right in the scene. If you see Grellik sharing in this moment, its yours too. It's a Bogshark moment, I think. You are a close group, for good or for ill, and it would make sense for Grellik to have feelings on this scene. Ozz did, after all.

That said, being a lookout can also be a valuable role to avoid getting completely distracted from. If you think it's worth dropping your guard to interact, that might actually be an inspiration earning bad-decision-for-roleplay's-benefit situation.

AC 14, HP 44/61, Init +5, P.P. 11, S. DC 16, Insp: 1, HD: 6/9, BI: 0/4, 1st (4/4), 2nd (1/3), 3rd (0/3), 4th (0/3), 5th (1/1) Bard (9)

Yeah I definitely think you should add in something Grell, she did mention you by (nick) name. It'd add depth especially since Grell has a more level head than triss lol

also, in that gif, is anyone else as annoyed as I am that that amateur extra in the background is just staring into the camera?

Best Bogshark defining moment

Has there been any moment with any Bogshark that has felt so perfectly them? Either your own character or others. Something that made you go "Yes, this is what that character does! This is why they're..." badass, or a bogshark, or awesome, or anything else that the scene, the moment makes you feel.

Wizard and Warlock unearthed arcana, pretty cool looking. Hexblade! Trissae, I think I might want Braious to be a Hex Blade, it's a better build for the type of melee fighting I want to do. It'd let me use a scythe in combat too, like I originally pictured him doing!
