This is the official recruitment thread for my organized crime game.

Character creation:

Level 3rd

Races Any, including from the ARG and created ones. Bear in mind, the less humanoid, the less likely I will choose you.

Alignment Any neutral or evil.

Traits Three, one of which should, but does not have to be, Social.

Feats You gain one noncombat feat as a bonus

Classes Any, save Paladin. As with races, the more bizarre or weird your concept, the less likely you'll be chosen. Be sensible, while this won't be a strictly urban game, playing a wilderness character who utterly hates anything bigger than a hamlet is a bad idea.

Also, I suggest characters who are somewhat stealthy, regardless of its via skill or magic. Overly flashy characters are gonna need something a little extra special to get chosen.

Finally, everybody is able to choose one of the following and make it a class skill: Bluff, Diplomacy, Disguise, Intimidate, Knowledge(Local), Perception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth.

Hit Points Max at first, then average+1. This will be what we follow when leveling as well. You can feel free to roll, and if you get lower, take the average+1 instead.

Last but not least, some stuff about me as a GM:

I've run four games here, a Vampire the Masquerade game, a Merc game, a mostly RP heavy kinda silly game and a mid high level sorta Merc game.

The VtM game is on hold. We had three players and one disappeared. Kinda hard to run with only 2 PCs.

The RP game, set in the World Serpent Inn, is technically still going, but there hasn't been a post in forever.

The sorta Merc game was one that I really enjoyed, but we had a player who caused some issues and I eventually ended it.

The only game still going, albeit slowly is a game I didn't even start. I was supposed to co-run but the GM went poof. As such, I don't really have much for the game as I'd like, and we lost one player and another hasn't been in around in a good while.

All this being said, I want players who are going to be dedicated. You don't need to post once a day, but close to it would be good. The PCs are going to really drive the game. I have some stuff in mind, of course, but the PCs will have a big say.

I am a laid back kinda GM, I enjoy some humor and goofyness(ok, a LOT of them), so don't feel that you need to be all grim and dark no nonsense kinda criminals. However, I also don't want any Jokers or Deadpools.

If you don't like something I'm doing, or how I handled a given situation, PM me. I'm pretty good at working out problems, so let me know.

I really want this game to last a long time, and possibly into high levels, so work with me and hopefully we can create a kickass game together!!

The Exchange

Dotting for interest. I will likely making a more fitting rendition of Varius for this campaign.

Golarion's a big place. Where specifically? I like to tie my characters to their locations when possible.

Sovereign Court

dotting for interest, have a really good idea for a witch that I will create and post up soon

edit: whats our starting wealth?

Somewhere in making the character I had in mind, it split off into two different characters. So, with any luck, tomorrow I will have the background for both worked out, and you can let me know which you prefer, and that will be the one I stat up.

Grand Lodge

I am expressing interest with this game will come up with concept after work. Also starting gold.

Color me extremely interested. I think this campaign idea opens up all sorts of interesting uses of feats/skills I normally do not mess with. I already have an idea for an inquisitor, a class I've always liked reading about but didn't want to play in a mostly "good" aligned party. I'll gin up some character sheets and background today.

Working on my dread. Just wondering was this point buy? if so how much I didn't see it in the post.

Sovereign Court

I was guessing 20 from the previous thread

I am interested and will submit a character soon. I am thinking of an stealthy oracle who likes to sneak up on victims to show them how vulnerable they are as a way of intimidating without first using violence. My other idea is necromancer who is fascinated by experimenting on living creatures and himself and might take the bloatmage prestige class. He would have started out as a torturer other mobsterss but now wants to move up the ranks of the organization. His prefered method of dealing with people is to hurt them but not kill them so that they can become object lessons to others.

Dotting for interest. May I ask what sources? Since you seem to be using the ARG I assume everything Paizo is ok as long as not broken?

Oh and thinking about a stealthy Magus right now.

Here's my submission. I'll fill in details shortly, but here's the overall framework.

Liberty's Edge

Edit:I'm going to go for a dwarf version of Tony Soprano or something.

Here's the shell for my submission which I will flesh out once we get more details. I intened to be the older matron of the group, the face and the person people fear. I will write up the full background when I finish the character

Here are Amadeo's stats and background story.

Amadeo's story:

Amadeo was born in Lastwall, and all his youth he was educated with stories of good deeds and duty.

His mother was a paladin and his father a cleric of Iomedae. Both his parents loved him dearly, though they hadn't much time for family life.

His older brother, Stavro, was a skilled fighter, which he greatly admired.

One day, his mother disappeared while on an expedition beyond the Wardstones which guard the ruined realm of Sarkoris, now subsumed into the abyssal pit of the Worlwound.

His father wanted to go in search of her spouse, but Lastwall's military command forbade it, because they feared a major assault was coming from the demonic forces and they needed all the able-bodied men they could get to defend the city walls.

So his father stayed in the city and prepared for battle.

But Amadeo's older brother couldn't resolve himself to abandon all hope, so he set off alone in a desperate expedition to rescue their mother.

Amadeo wanted to come with him, but Stavro sneaked alone under the cover of the night to prevent it.

Then the demonic assault came, and Amadeo did his part. The demons were repelled, but many were killed, and his own father was grievously wounded.

His father summoned his son to his deathbed to bid him goodbye.

"I wish you wouldn't die" said Amadeo.

"I give my life to the greater good" answered his father. And then he died.

That night, while Amadeo was awake mourning the remains of his father, an eldritch vortex opened and he saw coming out from it an evil apparition in the likeness of his mother.

She taunted him, saying she had flayed Stavro out of his skin when he came to rescue her, before eating him alive, and that she was now a good whore servicing the mighty demon lords.

"Iomedae, save her !" pleaded Amadeo.

The goddess didn't respond to his pleas, but Lastwall's soldiers, summoned by his cries, ran to the scene and were able to destroy his mother.

Amadeo didn't sleep for a full week after all that horror.

Finally, he was able to fall asleep only after a singular train of thought had bore itself into his foggy mind.

There's no greater good.

Only the good you do to yourself.

And the good you do to those loyal to you, if you're loyal to them (and you should be).

These have been the core tenets of his personal faith for the rest of his life - until now.

Personality hints:

Amadeo likes to live the good life, and is a little bit obsessed with amassing wealth. Besides that, he appears as a charming and pretty tolerant criminal.

Unless you betray him, in which case he becomes a murderous fiend.

Owing to his education, Amadeo is a very religious man and a worshiper of Callistria.
He has a strange sacred/casual relationship to his goddess, which could be summarized as: "I scratch your back and you scratch mine."

He has set his mind to becoming a criminal lord and he is working hard to fulfill that goal.

Here's what I came up with (Jelani). Will write a background once I know more about where the campaign is taking place and what we are doing.

Essentially he's a dwarven wiseguy who wants to move up to be the kingpin of whatever town the PCs are in.

------

As for posting there are days where I'm too busy to post more than once, but most days I find myself wishing there was more I could post but waiting on others.

Ok the crunch is done. Just need a proper backstory and one more trait. The dread class is pretty sweet though i must say they really push you towards nightmare form(which I do not like and will not be taking)

Sturk would be interested...

Finished most of the crunch, will do equipment when we get the starting wealth.

I focused on diplomacy as my class skill and added in a trait to make Bluff a class skill as well as I would like to be the face of the party

I have an idea for a character but need to tweek it a bit since it was originally created for a Council of Thieves AP game.

itnital stuff in the profile but will obviously need changes (like alignment, level, a bit of background stuff)

BTW I have never originally concieved this character as evil until now. Have been playing this character since 2nd edition (as an elf Mage/thief)

EDIT: Profile updated

EDIT 2: now need to buy equipment

I'm interested, first time back on the boards after a long while and this is the kind of thing i like to see!

I'll have something up soon in the way of submission.

Sounds intriguing. I'll probably throw together a wizard of some sort.

See, I tried really hard to include everything, and I still forgot stuff...I blame the whores...queens...

Oh damn, wasn't supposed to say that out loud!!...

Sources All Paizo, 3rd party is not out right banned, but I would prefer sticking to Paizo. IF you do draw on 3rd party I strongly suggest that it be something that really can't be duplicated with PF base, AND that its nothing over the top.

Starting Wealth As you guys are established criminals, you have 4,500 gold to spend. I don't care how you spend it, but I would hope that you don't blow the whole of it one really sweet item.

Point Buy 20, lowest a stat can be is 8 before racial adjustments. I would suggest that you don't drop too far below that, as it would be good to be at least semi well rounded. Having a -4 or worse to stuff is pretty not good.

Starting off in Absalom, as its a perfect city for this game to kick off in. However, its easy to come from anyplace else and wind up there, so don't beholden yourselves to the city.

Personality of Legunyc, the Inquisitor of Calistria

On these streets you have seen me. You have seen me in the brothels and dice halls. I've been there, and I've seen you. Undoubtedly, you could walk into me today and not recognize me. Sometimes I am the old beggar, other times I look like any other back-alley tuff. You need not be concerned with these personalities. When you see my whip, and the yellow robes over my chainmail you will know who I am. My business is vengeance and you will count yourself lucky not to draw my attention.

I care not for your motivations. You slash a prostitute and I will re-visit that savagery on you. The prostitute forgets her place in the world and steals from her client, I will leave her undesirable by all except the most desperate of clients. You move your mercantile operations too close to those I have, for whatever reason befriended, you will be burned like a heretic. I live solely to execute vengeance - I do not concern myself with justice.

Character Sheet, Soon

Crunch is complete

Here is her backstory

Backstory:
Lady Natalia Gregova was born to the House of Gregova in Irrisen. Being born to a minor noble house, Natalia always strived to raise the glory of her family to a much higher position. However, father and brothers were always terrifed of the Winter Witches of Irrisen and always preferred to remain in the background.

Natalia, never giving up her dream of power, entered into an agreement with the Winter Witches that would give her the power that she needed, and excel her family to the position of wealth and power that she wanted. Furious, her father stripped her of her family name and banished her. Enraged, she used her new found power to wreck havoc on the minds of her family, causing them to all to go insane and murder each other. Lacking her familes influence, her house and wealth were taken from her by the Winter Witches and other noble houses of Irrisen.

Natalia used the last of her wealth to journey to Absalom, finding that her talents allow her to excel in a lifestyle suited for the underworld. For several years she has been working to establish herself as a known and dominate name in the underworld.

Please ask any question you have about the character.

I submit Ragar for your consideration.

how would you feel about a fetchling pc from shadow absalom, perhaps a criminal escaping vendettas in the shadow plane and attempting to etch out a living in the shadows of the material plane?

just a thought, also, how do you feel about
this shadow assassin class
, since you mentioned third party classes.

I understand totally if you don't like the looks of it, if that's the case I'll likely head for the sandman bard archetype or a darkness themed oracle.

also might go with an urban ranger or fighter enforcer type

maybe even a detective bard, or the evil opposite of that.

any feedback from gm or potential teammates is welcome.

also, psionics, in or out?

Lantern Lodge

Dotting for interest.

How exactly is that bonus noncombat feat meant? Does it have to be a feat that can be taken at level 1 and is any feat that is not a "combat feat" ok? I was thinking about Extra Arcana:Disguise Hex (via Hexcrafter Magus) for RP reasons.

I was assuming the same as I took Improved Familiar

Liberty's Edge

It's quite rare that I get the opportunity to enjoy a non-good game, so I'd like to submit a character for interest as well. I've been itching for a chance to try out Pathfinder's Arcane Trickster.

My character will be a Rogue/Wizard/Arcane Trickster. Hopefully that is different enough from Kyrani, but if anyone complains about the similarity between our concepts, I'll withdraw the idea and come up with a different character.

For backstory, I plan to have my character come from Westcrown. Will have him up in just a moment.

@Neo Kyrani is actually a rogue/bard for this application and I do not intend on being an arcane trickster so I am sure there will be plenty of differences.

Liberty's Edge

Kyrani Tabadore wrote:

Great. I plan to be a Sniper rogue myself, so I think we'll be covering pretty different roles either way. Can't wait to see what Kyrani is like in-character.

My original post was under Michael Falcon 866. This is my alias for this should I be chosen. Will work on back story and equiptment next.

Inkarus personality/RP sample:

The old woman smiled as she walked along the crowded city street. People bustling by, vendors peddling their wares. She makes her way through to a man with a full cart of fruit. "Please sir, would you spare some food for a poor starving old woman?" Her eyes looked up at him pleading from her stooped position.

[/b]"Ok but just one."[/b] The man takes pity on her and sets an apple in front of her. "Please can I have 2.." Her voice is frail and weak. The man looks her over, her grey hair is tied up beneath a blue scarf of tattered material, her clothes don't look much better.

"Ok fine, but two is all I can give. Please get some help." He hands her a second apple, and she nods to him. "Thank you son, you've done an old woman's heart good." She smiles quaintly and disappears off into the crowd.

As soon as she's out of sight she ducks into an alley. Peeling the wig and tattered garments away she stands taller and the frame of a young male appears. Like taking candy from a baby... Ink thinks to himself as he retrieves the apple from his bag. Taking a bite from it he disappears into the shadows of the city...

Got stats updated, Going to finish with other assorted items later.

Seems like some interesting potential characters here.

@Voice of Awesomeness: Just curious, what is the timeline for when you plan on closing recruitment?

Redclover, Shadow Assassin is fine, if you go that route.

Noncombat feats are generally anything that doesn't have a direct effect on combat, or your abilities therein. Combat, Metamagic and Item Creation feats are not allowed as one, nor are feats such as the various save increasing ones. Skill boosters, proficiency feats, etc are OK. Yes, being able to wield a bigger, better weapon in combat than all other wizards should disallow proficiency feats, but I feel that its adds to the character enough for it to be fine.

Do not abuse this though, if your frail 60 year old wizard has Exotic Weapon Prof(massive beat stick) for no reason other than it deals 2d10 damage, I will feed you to my pet Daemon.

If you are unsure, just ask.

Fink, stupid question, but is what you're asking as your noncombat feat legal? Can you take a Witch Hex via Extra Arcana and I'm just missing where it says that's ok?

Lady Natalia, Improved Familiar is fine.

I am unsure when I will close recruitment, we'll see how many more serious applications I get before I make that decision.

Crunch is up for NeoSeraphi's submission. Fluff to be up soon.

@Voice of Awesomeness - Thanks for the clarification, I wanted the Cacodaemon familar cause he eat people's souls and create gems out of them, which I use to wear as jewlery :D

It should be legal as long as you take the Hexcrafter Archetype: A hexcrafter gains access to the following magus arcana, or may select any witch hex in place of a magus arcana.
So if I'm not completly missing something and that doesn't work with the feat it's legal.

I have a first version ready by the way:
Myth Weaver Link
There may still be errors and I'm not yet 100% happy with the backstory, but it's a start. Should you find Magical Lineage (without the whole "make Shocking grasp into a cantrip" cheese) to powerfull for a trait I'm also happy to change it.
Right now I'm also far to tired to put it all into an alias, that will come tomorrow and don't wonder about the sheet name. I startet with an elf and only later on decided myself for a tiefling instead.

I don't know if you want roleplay examples but here's something I had an idea for and figured you might like.

A small boy runs through a sparsely populated street towards a tall elf with a smug look on his face. He reaches the man and tugs at his shirt sleve.

Mister, Mister! Please come quick my cousin, she is going to be raped! The man gives the boy an exasperated look and attempts to continue forward. The boy tugs again a look of fear and desperation spread across his face. Please, sir I'll give you anything, just please save her. Her mother is very rich, I'm sure you will be rewarded.

A slim smile forms at the mans lips then is gone. "very well" he sighs where is this cousin of yours.

This way Mister come quick! The boy runs down the road and into an alley the stranger easily keeping up. When they reach the alley they hear the sounds of one grunting man and a squeeling girl coming from just around the bend in the alley. Please sir go help her, I don't think I can stand to hear her cry like that A tear rolls down the boys cheeks followed by another until he is all out bawling.

The man takes off down the alley drawing his sword. He rounds the corner expecting to see an atrocity in the works but all he sees in an empty alley. The sounds of rape stop. The boy tiptoes up behind the man and lightly touches his exposed shoulder. The man screams as if frightened and collapses to his knees scraping at his ears.

"stop it, stop it!" he yells. The boy observes a smile on his face. Then he steps over and touches the man once more on the forehead. The man's eyes roll back into his head, he starts convulsing, and a stream of blood trickles out of his nose. The boy reaches into the mans pouch and pulls out a scroll.

I believe this belongs to the Don my friend. He'll be having it back now. The boy touches the man on the forehead again and his breathing stops, and he goes limp. The boy walks out of the alley with a smug smile on his face, a job well done.

Fluff is up. Let me know if you have any questions about my character, Voice of Awesomeness.

Had to change my familiar from the cacodaemon to a raven. Hero Lab let me take one when I can't until level 7. So if this campaign gets to level 7 and I get chosen, I would like to get a cacodaemon

Aylya was in a game that never got started some time back, But I think she would make a great Enforcer for them mob, Think of a Sweet school Girl Enforcer with a really bad dark side. Just don't owe the Mob money when she gets sent to get it.

On second thought, I think I'm going to take a pass at this.

Have fun guys.

Cor is the perfect man for the job!

An Ifrit rogue Sniper with a bad temper and the social skills of a sword. He is a Hit man from afar gaining him his nickname "Twang".

He was going to be in a game of similar sorts but it never happened, I hope he isn't too weird for your taste.

I'm able to post at least once a day or more depending on work.

Background:
Talulah was born in a dysfunctional family. Throughout her childhood, she was abused by her alcoholic father. Due to the family's poverty, she was treated poorly at school. Because of her looks, the girls hated her and the boys used her. One such boy, Pierre, was the son of a local noble. The two had a "secret" relationship. Talulah was in love. Unfortunately, the boy was not. When word got out, the boy denied the relationship and his father threatened her parents that if they did not have Talulah leave the school they would have the family's home repossessed. Life at home everyday became torture. Talulah soon decided to run away.

It was on the streets that she began to learn to take care of herself. She met a boy who introduced her to a local thieve's guild. The guild leaders soon realized Talulah's true gift, charming men. She was trained as a spy and sent to work as a "escort". Her ability to seduce men and get them to talk became legendary. This led to her nickname, "Sweet".

It was during this time, she found out about the Faith of Calistria. She had been invited to the temple and introduced to the High Priestess. She quickly earned the Priestess' favor. She was trained in the art of the bow and taught how to use her oral skills to inspire others.

One day while travelling to an assignment, she noticed a scuffle in an alley. When she silently moved up to see what was going on; she realized the boy she had known as a school girl, Pierre, was forcing himself on a young girl. Sweet unsheathed her dagger and slit the young man's throat before he knew what happened.

It wasn't long until an investigation was launched. Pierre's rich father placed a bounty on his son's killer. Since that time, Sweet has been hiding out and looking for a way to make enough money to get out of town.
