Heh. Guess we got started early. I'm still below 50, but older than the rest of you, so only by a couple of years. <shrug> Our 3rd (and youngest) celebrates her 19th birthday tomorrow. This year we celebrated our 28th anniversary and my parents' 50th.

Our one girl chose to be very much the girly-girl. Which is kind of amazing given how much Tom Boy her mother is!

I *think* I might be the youngest here as I'm about to be 31 next month. No kids or wife, yet.

Anyways, as for the random banter that started this, as long as it mostly stays here as opposed to IG, I'm cool. Regular flirting in character is fine, but don't go overboard. I have no problem wanting to cultivate PC/PC romantic relationships either, just keep it classy.

...I'm 20. As in, starting junior year in college next week. Speaking of, if I start lapsing at all in the next few months, that's probably why, especially the next two weeks.

Heh, btw, coconut rum is my favorite, period. Though my favorite brand is Trader's Vic. I doubt you'll find that though, its hard to get, but I have a connection via a friend :)

Mythic Adventures is slated for around this time next year.

There will be a playtest coming in the next several months.

If all of you agree, I would like to use this game as a playtest.

If even one says no, with good reason, then we won't .

But know this: these rules overlap with current leveling. They do not force you into high levels or epic.

They can apparently be tempoary. Which means that even if we use them, and don't like em, we can rid ourselves of them easily.

I'm definitely up for it. I skimmed the announcement thread, and it looks interesting. They're different from normal conceptions of epic play, to be sure, and apparently Demon Blight Crusade (the next AP after Reign of Winter) will utilize them.

It appears interesting. Don't know enough about the implementation o feel confident about using it.

I understand it is a set of "level" options. There's still an AWFUL lot of ground not defined from where I sit.

I generally have no objection to trying things like this, but, I too, have notr reviewed it as of yet.

Mythic Adventures - Overview

Mythic play is an overlay to the existing system to grant extra powers and abilities while trying to avoid providing straight numerical bonuses. It is also going to be setup so GMs can pick and choose the parts they want to include in their campaign.

PCs can gain Mythic levels in six different paths which range from levels one to ten. PCs will level through deeds and not from experience points.

Mythic levels are geared so that mythic beings will have roughly half their regular levels in mythic levels. (e.g. a level 10 PC could have around 5 mythic levels and would be roughly equivalent to a normal level 15 character in overall power).

There are six mythic paths to choose from: Archmage (Arcane magic emphasis), Heirophant (Divine magic emphasis), Champion (Melee Abilities), Warden (Ranged/Ranger abilities? Not totally sure here), Trickster (Rogue-ish), and Marshall (Grants bonuses to others).
A PC selects one of the above paths and cannot "multi-class" but there are opportunities to select abilities from other paths.

Mythic PCs will gain mythic power points they can spend to gain a wide variety of abilities: One example given is that they can spend points to add an extra die roll after results are revealed. Say you roll a save and miss. You could spend a point to roll a d6 (the size of the die would increase with your mythic level) and add it to your previous result.

There will be mythic spells. They will essentially be powered up versions of existing spells. This was done to not hose sorcerors and oracles since they require the usage of mythic power points to cast. Examples: Magic Missile ( Extra damage and goes through shield spells), Fireball (10d10 max + burn), CLW (3d6+2xlevel+ heal 1 pt ability dmg)).

They intend to include powerful legacy weapons that power up with the character (ala Stormbringer or Excalibur. Think full blown artifacts at high levels).

The Mythic Adventures book will be all inclusive. Will include rules for building PCs and monsters, a mini-bestiary

Would you allow me to tweak Natalia's crunch a bit to bring me inline with the "Winter Witch" Prestige class that was just released in Paths of Prestige? As her background is all about Irrisen and the winter witches, that was my intent for the character.

Sure, but don't forget to take the Winter Witch archetype from Inner Sea Magic.

Deciding between a cloak of elven kind (+5 stealth) or goggles of minute seeing (+5 disable device). Any opinions team Nidal? I am not sure how much traps/locks will play. I know sneaking is important.
