Lalali-Re |
Thanks for the warm welcome! It´s nice to meet you all. An interesting story about this monastery, i didn´t hear it before. I reckon it doesn´t really blow up, it probably goes to some other place. So would we if we are inside at that moment. Hearing how the monks went mad and suddenly did bad things, it´s most likely not a nice place.
Tribim |
As the striking gnome speaks 'What was her name again, Lalali-Re was it? I wonder if she is as smart as she is beautiful. Not that it matters a little eye candy is always a good thing. I like working with wee folk that look tastier than I do.' Smiling and nodding as she finishes speaking and the big Taldan begins: 'So forthright, I like that.' Trib responds to Lalali-Re shrugging his shoulders, "Mam, That may o' been what happened, but tha story goes they was evil a long time a'fore they blowed up." Trib smiles at the big man winking, "While we relieve them of anythin' valuable, yeah."
I am assuming we took the time to heal everyone before we go back to the monastery and am resetting HP to full.

once the team is awake and moving they head back to the 'Black Monastery' as they approach the 'Gates of Fear' Trib points toward the Gates "These gates lead inta tha courtyard, 'air's a double door on that south-west side we's'l go in, yeah. It goes ta tha southwest, tha west and tha north west side. That's where we were last, up at the north, found a slippery room with a cob web room, we's can go back 'air latter as far as I'm concerned. We's already cleared tha southeast corner, what say we start clearin' tha southwest, yeah?" Trib leads the party through the courtyard to the double doors into the corridor, turning left, he goes to the last door in the hallway. After checking the door for locks and traps if clear he opens it up and looks inside.
so go through the courtyard to M69 turns left and goes to the door for M74. He will take 20 (34) on perception for the door and 10 (24)on perception for the room.
on a separate note if we want to create a "door entry" line up, or a marching order or something like that it would be awesome!
Archaemedes Falco |
"Sounds good. Lets go."
He uses his alchemical alocation with his heroism potion and then hands out a few elixur's..
One barkskin and shield extract each to Trib and Curtis.. Caster Level 8 on those.. Should be a net +7 to AC if you use them both..
Ravarel Leafblown |
Ravarel will take the traditional glass cannon spot near the rear of the marching order
knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Ravarel examines the mirror trying to search for a way to release the trapped human if that is the course we decide to take.
Ravarel Leafblown |
"I've tried searching for a way to release the trapped human. But I haven't detected an elegant way to do that. Breaking it might work. Hold on let me examine it a little more before we do anything. I hate to break a precious magical item."
spellcraft to identify item: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
Lalali-Re |
Mh i never heard that story, but it´s good to know they went evil on their own. That makes cleaning the place a lot easier.
Lalali marches along, looking to be in the middle of the party.
When she sees Falco handing out drinks, she gets interested.
Oh! How interesting! You drink before you go somewhere? What is it? Can i taste? Did you make those yourselves? Maybe you run some kind of brewery?
All i can say about that mirror is that it´s magic somehow.
She looks to Falco.
You know something more about it? I wonder who that is...
Sense Motive on the person in the mirror: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Ravarel Leafblown |
"I can't figure out a way to release the human without breaking it. What do you think? Shall we break it. The trapped human may have some valuable information for us."
Ravarel Leafblown |
if I exceeded the spellcraft check to identify the item by 10 or more any curse should be revealed. the 38 will probably reveal any curse.
"I don't think there is any curse here. But one can never be completely sure. Does anyone have the ability to detect whether the human trapped in their is evil or not? Wouldn't want to release a crazed evil monk that is safely imprisoned."
Ravarel Leafblown |
given the 38 spellcraft check. Do I have any idea if casting a Dispel Magic on the mirror would have any effect?
edit:
would suppressing it release the prisoner?
Ravarel Leafblown |
"I can't figure any way to release this human imprisoned in the mirror without breaking it. Whether we should or not is a different story. I have no special insight into that. But I think we should. If he is evil and attacks us we have him sorely outnumbered. If not, we may be able to learn something valuable from him."
Archaemedes Falco |
"well step aside and let the curious fellow find out for us.." Archy pulls out a rapier that most of you didn't realize he had and gives a thrust to the mirror..
Ravarel Leafblown |
"Well...that might not be good" staring at the shards
Tribim |
Holding his rapier in hand as the trio discusses the finer points of mirror-breaking. Trib surprised by Archamedes as he draws his rapier and breaks the mirror looking from the brave alchemist to the laughing glass he shrugs "I didn't know ya had it in ya Archy, or should I say on ya." smilling as he nods at the blade.
As the glass stops laughing Trib moves about 30 ft down the hallway, keeping a keen eye out as he goes. Seeing the door on the right hand wall M70 he stops and inspects it for traps and locks, assuming it's clear he opens the door.
Trib takes 10 [24}on perception in the hallway of M74 and takes 20 (34) on perception for the door going into M70
drbuzzard |
The careful inspection of the door reveals it to be a mimic. You kill it CR 4, I am not wasting time.
This room is empty except for a few bones piled in its southwest corner. Sitting atop the bones is a ruby worth 50gp. In addition to the large ruby among the bones, there are also 11 pp, 127 gp, 32 sp, 554 cp and a +1 chain shirt hidden there.
Tribim |
After wiping the green goo from the mimic from his glowing blade, Trib inspects the room, 'Well that's nice and shiney' he quickly pockets the items on and around the pile of bones. Smiling at the team as he returns to the hallway the shrugs his shoulder's "Shall we's, yeah" as he points to the door across the hall. leading in to M75 He quickly checks the door for traps and locks and if clear proceeds to open it.
will take 20 (34) on perception for the door, 10 (24) on perception for the room.
on a separate note, Archaemedes are you still doing the loot list?

Examining the fire pit
Detect Magic
Knowledge arcana : 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Perception : 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Ravarel Leafblown |
"be careful. The fire pit is full of conjuration magic. . I don't know what it'll summon probably from the Elemental or lower planes. But we probably won't like it "
Can Ravarel detect what will trigger the conjuration pit? If it can be prevented?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Ravarel Leafblown |
"it's probably a good idea to avoid touching it unless you want to activate it's summoning magic "
-Posted with Wayfinder
Ravarel Leafblown |
Is there anything else of note in this room? or just the summoning fire pit?
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Ravarel Leafblown |
"well everyone do we want to take a chance on summoning a Balor or whatever will pop out of there? or should we move on to the next room?"
Ravarel backs away from the pit getting ready to magically support his new group in whatever they decide to do
Tribim |
watching the new group dynamics Trib adds "Well we was hired to wipe out the evil in this monastery, yeah. So if it summons evil stuff how's do we shut it down?"
Ravarel Leafblown |
Can this magic firepit be ruined by physical damage? ie big strong fighter smashing it to bits?
"Tribim... It might be a good idea to cut off any access points this place has to the outer planes. But we're probably not going to be able to break the conjuring pit without fighting whatever it summons. . Not opposed to the idea. . If we decide to do this let's take the time to magically prepare first. IF we decide to do this. "
