Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

When they reach his door, "my roommate moved out recently so its just my stuff... Do Not Tell Anyone what happens in here EVER! okay?"

Treisdan says while looking at each of them in turn waiting for a response...

"Okay..." This was getting strange.

Entering the room the lights spring on revealing a very bare room.

"Stand over there..." Treisdan points to an empty corner as he goes to gather some chalks and inks from the top of the his dresser "I need to speak with some... Friends...."

Ginni went pale. "You mean all those times...I was that close to turning into some kind of freaky vampire?!" She shuddered. "I don't wanna be undead!"

She takes deep breaths, trying to calm down. "So...it's getting worse, which means I'm getting closer to being..." She looks panicked.

"How long do you think it will take to find a cure?" she asks, in a small, scared voice.

Dom stepped forward and spoke to Ginni with what seemed to be a well practiced soothing voice. "We won't let that happen, Ginni. Tamina. Ace, and I will step in and stop you. As how long, I want to try removing the virus with my bending. It should hopefully cure you but if it doesn't, I'm hoping that I can help hold it back if, curing it isn't within in reach yet." Dom seemed confident with his speech. It was as if he knew this would work.

His academic side now interested, Oneiro goes through a mental checklist of the possibilites. A modified message spell? Scrying? Summoning an elemental? A gate to another location perhaps? He steps into the corner quickly, watching carefully.

Trying to teach Bradley to meditate is an often frustrating process as he is easily distracted by even the smallest things. And every time he starts to snap out of it, something improbably bad happens. After an hour the classroom is an utter wreck and Bradley is looking a bit the worse for wear.

"I think you're probably on to something here....but it seems like it's...

Pushing back her frustration, Anahita eventually calls the effort to rest.

"Well, this is progress, even if you .. might not accept it. I hypothesize this has to do with your awareness and focus. You will notice, as soon as you start to latch onto something with your attention, the events trigger. So- perhaps stronger training, and patience, in time, will result in your ability to .. well, focus when YOU wish, versus automatically occurring. This is good!" She beams a smile at him and rises up.

Throwing a few healing spells onto him, as needed, Anahita then says, "I think the trick will be to determine if this is a mental thing, that you are projecting or manipulating, versus anything else. Knowing that, may very well be the next helpful step. Then it's just a matter of living with a clear mind, just being, and focusing your mind on what you wish- hopefully in a positive method, when you desire it, versus being enslaved to it, as you appear to be. It really does sound as if you have the opposite of what your sibling does. Mostly speculating here, just so you know."

She gestures for him to follow saying, "It hasn't been too long, would you care to get something to eat? If the issue is your actual interaction with things, that triggers the event, it appears talking does not- just summon a servant or something, or have one assigned to you, so that you needn't touch anything while they do everything else. That is a temporary fix, but might help you with the falling shelves."

She'll suggest going back to the Cafeteria, since sushi only goes so far and it's been an hour or more now.

"Curiously- who do you know that teaches anything to do with the mind? or mental powers as you put it earlier."

Treisdan waits until the others are out of the way and then strips off his robe, then he takes his chalks and inks to the center of the room where three perfectly smooth circles are on the floor.

he begins to draw symbols and circles on the smooth surface... when finished he looks at each in turn...

"If any of you talks there is a large chance that my soul will be harmed by the transaction I am about to undertake... if your mouth cannot stay shut, then I must ask you to leave now..."

assuming none of you leave he goes to the first of the two circles

"I call to Abysm, the Schismed... Psionic Mass.... (he continues to chant for almost a full minute)

A large Psi crystal looking mass rises from the floor, looking like a huge tree...

Dave and Skeets are just about blind... hundreds of psions are inside the mass

::WE ABYSM ANSWER YOUR CALL.... WHO IS SO BOLD AS TO CALL ABYSM?::

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

"I do, Treisdan Achdarach, Binder of the Seventh Level. I call upon your knowledge and might as the greatest of the psychics, I offer my soul and body to you, For twenty and four hours You all shall share my body. And I, Your knowledge."

Binding check 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (6) + 26 = 32

::YOUR REQUEST IS GRANTED, WE ABYSM, ANSWER YES::

The crystalline tree of shimmering psionic crystals glows brightly with every word.. As the last word is thought it begins to spin, dwindling downward into the floor.

Treisdan's body now registers as a 16th level Psion

"What... was that?" Oneiro thinks carefully. He didn't know if it was okay to project thoughts, since he'd been told not to speak and the entity he'd just seen was clearly psionic, but he couldn't help himself.

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

immediately afterward, Treisdan's thoughts meet yours...

It is a disease, but this spell only tells you what you already know.

"O-okay," she said nervously.

Tamina stood beside her and she grabbed her friend's hand and held on tightly while Ace cast his spell, needing some comfort.

"Let me know when you need me to do something. I'll help however I can. I don't wanna be a vampire."

It's not as bad as you might think. You'll just have to stick to a low calorie diet. You'd be surprised just how fattening draining the blood from an adult human once a week can be.

"Uh, I'm not a mage. I can't summon an unseen servant. And I'd be afraid to if I could...think of all the things that could go really wrong if I could use magic." He shuddered.

Cobbler's kid doesn't even consider the possibility of live servants. :)

"But food sounds good! I think I missed dinner again."

"Hmm. No, I don't know who teaches those classes. Maybe I should ask the Headmaster. I'm sure he'd love it if I stopped destroying stuff too," he said cheerfully.

"Thanks for being willing to spend so much time trying to help me."

Male Human Gestalt: Binder 16, Wizard (Enchanter) 6

Treisdan walks to the last of the two circles and intones both psionicly and verbally...

"I call upon Dantalion, the Star Emporer. Lord of His Family Line... (again he speaks for a minute before kneeling in front of the circle)

Slipping into the school and making himself unseen again, Taron heads for his destination: his mother's lab. He knocks once before chewing on his lip and waiting nervously.

With that, she smiles and nods, heading for the door while saying, "We here to learn, are we not? I'm happy to assist a fellow student in this place. Come.. food awaits."

With that, off to the Cafeteria for more sushi. She'll stay around Bradley, but isn't exactly 'leading' the way so she can take some time to still watch what he's doing. Mostly, though, as they eventually get enough food- or she'll help him with his meals so he doesn't trigger anything unusual, it's to help.

If and when they get seated, she'll just ask him personal questions about who he is, what he likes, etc. Socializing. The studying part had happened earlier.

I figured as much, but it also gives me a +4 bonus on all Heal checks.

"I think for right now I just need you to relax and get comfortable. I'm going to use a few spells to assist me, but its going to take me awhile."

Going to cast Greater Heroism for another +4 morale bonus to all skill checks and then Moment of Greatness which allows all of us to double the morale bonus for one particular check. I will use it for a Heal check, but in case Ginni needs it for a save or something, I'll cast Herosim on her.

1d20 + 55 ⇒ (2) + 55 = 57 Heal, spending a MoI to add +16

"Enter," she said distractedly, not really looking to see who was there first. She was busy with something on the screen. Which then flashed red. Again. She swore and hit a few more keys to run yet another test before looking around.

[blink, blink]

"Taron."

"Yes... Once more I call upon your power and knowledge, I beg humbly to know as you know, In exchange I offer to allow you to share my spirit and body, To feel as I feel..." Treisdan says in a humble groveling voice...

"I accept your offering, Mortal." And in another flash of red blinding light, he disappears.

"Hi, Mom..." He barely manages to get his voice above a whisper, and he could swear his heart was beating to fearfully to be healthy. "I thought I should come see you..."

She wasn't sure how to respond to this. Her eyes were swimming with unshed tears.

"Probably a long time ago," she said sadly. "Taron...."

She quickly closed the distance between them and hugged him tightly. "I love you, Taron. I'm so glad you're home and in one piece. Whatever comes next, please don't forget that."

Yes, that definitely beats the DC for the disease which will give her +4 on saves against it..

Ginni settled herself as comfortably as possible on the infirmary bed. She was pretty sure they made them lumpy on purpose so kids wouldn't want to stay too long.

Lyn:

I'm assuming I still need to do more. Going to cast Augury, asking if normal removal spells will be effective. My CL is high enough to get the 90% of an accurate answer. Depending on how that plays out will determine my next move

"Would you? Yeah, that'd be awesome. I think you can explain what you figured out so far better than I can."

On the way to the cafeteria Bradley manages to tumble over a banana peel left on the stairs, fall into a open bucket of mop water and get stuck in an inexplicably open locker. Once extricated, he wrings himself out as best he can.

"Huh. Actually that wasn't so bad. Might be the least eventful trip to the cafeteria I've had in ages," he said cheerfully.

With some help from Ana he is able to get the most edible looking meal he's seen in ages; a cheeseburger and a heaping helping of french fries as well as some green salad. He looked at her sushi suspiciously, admittedly not being very fond of fish.

"Well, I don't socialize much cause not many folks want to be friends with someone with horribly bad luck....can't say I blame them. My grandpa used to keep pigeons though. I loved spending time with the pigeons. I could just watch them for hours. And nothing really bad happened when I was watching the pigeons. Maybe cause I wasn't thinking about anything but pigeons. I dunno. But I miss them something awful. They're so cool! Did you know that they can find their way home from anywhere? That's just the awesomest," he said enthusiastically.
