This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Male Unknown 16 Invulnerable Rager/ 16 Hex Crafter Magus

Enre nods "That was all, thank you for answering my questions."

Male Kobold Expert 6/Rogue 4/Fighter 3

I like how I seem to be the measuring stick for how strict a teacher is. 'only pretty' indeed...

Khassar flies up from the river, because there is probably less canopy there, and looks around.

Fly 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

Perception 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (3) + 31 = 34

True seeing on his goggles if that applies.

Assuming this is set up like the other labs...

Wyrd walks further into the forge and heads towards one of the empty anvils. He runs his fingers across the top of the anvil, producing a screech as iron rubs across steel. A small smile appears on his face as he taps the anvil with a finger. After a few moment looking around at the small forge near the anvil and the other tools neatly arrayed there, he turns back to Ehos. Seeing Ehos' distaste, he heads back out of the room.

Now that I know where it is, I can come back here at a later time. Let's see about dinner.

Ehos smiles. He nodded and began to leave excitedly. He had found a friend who was truely empathetic. The pair make their way down to the cafeteria.

Once they arrive, Ehos looks about. He spots Tyrrin conversation with a girl who seems... to have mutilated herself with pieces of metal. Very strange. His gaze lingers a moment on his sister before moving to get food. At least she looked like she was enjoying her conversation.

"Well, there's also Miss Jones. Watch out for her. She's like Relkav only pretty. She's not human either, although we haven't yet figured out what she is. There's Professor Sunwake. She's weird. And a lot stronger than she looks. She used toteach PE, but now she only teaches advanced PE. The rumor is that she's the Headmaster's sister, but I don't know for sure. Prof Aislin teaches PE. She's another one of those small but strong ones. Sifu Daiyu teaches meditation. She makes my head hurt. And Prof Genosuke teaches philosphy. He's tought like Relkav, but without the sense of humor. Yeah, that's as scary as it sounds."

"Philosophy is one of my favourite subjects... though you are right, Philosophers don't tend to be a... humourous bunch." Tyrrin smiles thoughtfully. Her smile is a sight that hasn't been seen yet in Avalon. "Thank you Jaiye. It's good to have someone here who actually enjoys my presence. It wasn't a very good morning for me."

I don't behave because I don't want to get kicked out. I behave so that people don't think badly of me, and so I actually have friends. People who care about me. What has misbehaving got you?"

"Misbehaving and sounding mean are two different things. What has misbehaving got me? Some small measure of freedom. The problem with being too powerful is that everyone seems to think it's your responsibility to solve all of their problems for them even though it's better for them to have to stand on their own two feet. As for the other thing, you of all people should know that hope can be cruel. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind."

He finished casting mending on the last of the broken items and put it back where it was supposed to go. "But you totally misunderstood. I'm not sure if your misunderstood me or yourself. You do walk on eggshells, like you're scared that if you're less than perfect they won't like you anymore. You don't give them enough credit."

He crouched down in front of the aschen and held out his hand. "Okay, time to give me the coffee bag. Coffee is a wonderful thing, I agree, but you have to ration it a little. The princess can only get so much of it at a time. You'll have to talk it over with her, make some sort of a feeding schedule. But it's bad for both of you if you keep binging like this. Yes, I know, it's your precious, but unless you want to run out you have to slow down how fast you eat it." After a small tug of war, the aschen reluctantly gave up the bag of coffee. Keme handed it to Nasima.

"There you go, princess. All fixed. Next time, don't freak out unless it's an actual emergency."

"So is the squid as good as it doesn't look?" Michael asks.

Perception DC 12:
A few booths behind Michael sits Anthony, taking careful aim with a slingshot loaded with rolled up straw paper.

Image (doesn't have wings)

"Oh, the squid is actually quite delicious," she said, picking up another piece with her chopsticks and savoring the flavor. It was a rare treat so far from the ocean.

"Also, you're going to want to duck. Someone is trying to be a pest to his nii-chan who is very bad at noticing things," she said, barely containing a laugh.

I think. According to the diary, he said it a lot, but not having ever actually met him, I'm just going to have to take Ephebe-prime's word for it."

"I do remember what it was like in school, Ephebe." Ryo says with a smile. "I'll get in touch with a few of the other schools around Agartha and refresh my memory though, to be thorough."

"Now, as much as I hate to ask, have you heard anything about your brothers?"

"Aside from the occasional cryptic note? Nothing I haven't already told you guys about. From the notes, I know they have some way of monitoring what's going on at the school. I can tell you it's not through our sibling bond. Taron broke it when he left and it can't be repaired because I'm not technically his sibling. I don't know if he knows yet how permanent that was. I suspected Ammy at first, but I don't think he'd leave Ammy behind. But he might have made another psicrystal. If he has I haven't found it though. Given that Tare can travel through dimensions easily, they could be anywhere. I feel kinda bad for Dad, trying to chase those guys down."

Anthony ducks under the table quickly, trying to hold the laughter in.

"Yeah, it's supposed to be some sort of bonding experience to bring the student body closer together. Whatevs. It's probably going to be pretty lame, but it beats sitting around by yourself all night, right? And at least some of the students ain't half bad at the whole performing thing...too bad the sign up sheet was open to anyone regardless of talent level," she said, rolling her eyes.

Kitty laughed more. "Michael, how dense are you going to be about this? Anthony-kun barely beat you back to the portal last time, and he's sitting two tables away. Throwing spitballs at his nii-chan."

"Sorry, Anthony-kun. I had to rat you out. Complete honesty is a condition of my visibility. And one more reason why I'd make a terrible shinobi."

"What!?"

"You know, you can still just not say anything." Anthony tells Kitty as he pops up in the booth behind Michael and grabs him. Nova jumps up on to Anthony's shoulder and seems to contemplate swatting at Michael. "That should still be okay."

"What are you doing here?"

"I followed you. Dad wanted me to make sure you 'act like a gentlemen' and all that stuff. Oh, and Kitty said I should enroll in Avalon. I think I'm the youngest student there."

"WHAT!?"

"Inside voice, Michael. You wouldn't want to disturb the other cutomers!" Anthony teases. Of course, the next moment he's floating through the air after Michael grabs him and throws him up towards the ceiling.

"You aren't the big brother you know, you shouldn't be so annoying to me. Explain already."

"No, and you shouldn't toss me around like broken toy. It's not very brotherly."

Vai was quiet. She didn't think she... walked on eggshells, like Keme said. Sure... sometimes she tried hard - maybe too hard - but that couldn't be a bad thing... could it? She shook her head. No. Trying to be your best wasn't a bad thing. Often times she wished she could've done bet... maybe that's what Keme meant. Vai turns to face the foxboy once again. "I'm sorry for snapping at you Keme... I can't change who I am, maybe I'll always try to be perfect. I agree that Hope can be cruel... but sometimes, it's the only thing that keeps you going. The only thing that keeps you alive, so I'm thankful for it. And to you for helping with the mess."

Keme smiled, the first real smile she'd seen from him. "Ah, now you get it. I wish my family would. I'd have to spend a lot less time hiding."

"Later, ladies. It's time for my nap," he said with a wink as he left.

Image (doesn't have wings)

Kitty shook her head.

"Actually, Anthony-kun, a lie of omission is still a lie. I kept your secret as long as I could, but I hit my limit."

"Michael, be nice to your little brother. Anthony-kun, stop teasing your nii-chan. And I think it's great that you decided to enroll at Avalon Anthony-kun."

She sighed. "Michael...you need to tell him. About that thing. He can go and tell your parents. Or I will. They need to know."

Female Elf Gestalt Sorcerer (Starsoul) 16/Oracle (Heavens) 16

"Well, at least that will give me a good idea of what everyone in the school is capable of. It starts in an hour or two doesn't it?" Tyrrin's food dish is getting near to empty, having eaten alot slower than her lycan tablemate. "What are you doing until then?"

Male Half-Elf

"Whatever they do to the air here is great." Anthony says as his momentum slows and he starts floating back down to the seats. "What thing?"

"This beetle." Michael says softly, holding his arm up so his brother can see. "I was picked by some crazy person, and now if I get too angry or frustrated I go crazy too, at least for a little while. The beetle injects a potion into me to keep that from happening."

"Sorry about the spitballs. So is it like a curse or something?"

"No. It's.. more like a seed. Actually, think of choker vines around a tree. It needs to be removed before it get's too bad. There are people at the school who can do it, but they've never done something like this before. If they can't get it out I'll have to keep the beetle around."

"I swear I'm not going into your room without permission again."

"Don't worry about that, it's got to be something bigger to set me off. At least it seems that way." Michael's eyes narrow at Anthony. "That spitball did hurt... Saffire, get him!"

*meep?* The little drake squeaks as he pokes his head out of the box of live food, a still-twitching shrimp leg sticking out of his mouth.

"Real intimidating." Michael laughs.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Vai smiled. Maybe he wasn't so bad. Maybe it was just her perception... "Sleep well, Keme." Vai turned back to the room, excited that Keme was now gone. She wanted to talk to Nasima. She wanted to tell her that she might have found a way to help her. "Nasima... I... I'm a Champion now. Lumos... Light came to me earlier and said she's make me a Champion so I could help you." Vai seems excited about the whole prospect, really.

I couldn't possible know what you're talking about. I am a student here. *innocent eyebatting*

You know you aren't the first student to go bad in this school, right? Sserena and Nala are two examples, though Nala has turned around since then.

I never said I wanted to be a trendsetter. And who said anything about me being bad?

"From what I've seen, Michael has only lost it when there was serious bullying involved. Anyways, we need to tell your parents. Even though I'm sure that they'll be able to fix it, this isn't something they should find out about after the fact."

It's starting to sound like you're going to cause trouble for the school, and the lycan isn't helping.

After returning from speaking with Wrath, Enre tells Ryleh "Wrath said that this is Creation's problem and knows how to take care of it. Wrath also said that anything I would tell you is the same as what you know already. Wrath did say that Khoda has to be kept busy until Creation can do that. I am also to tell you that I will be available for the fight when it happens." Enre than sheaths his sword back into his baldric.

"I'd ask if you'd reconsider, but I guess what Professor Sunwake said applies to them too." Michael sighs. "See, now I'm not all happy because meeting your family went well."

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

"Thank you, Enre. I suspected as much, but I find it necessary to cover all of my bases. I will be holding a strategy meeting tomorrow to let people know what the plan is. It is imperative that not one word of it be leaked to Nasima since Khoda can access her mind. I will let you know when we are meeting."

"Besides, you have to get better quickly so you can come with me to visit my family in Nishioki. I can't wait to show you the ocean."

Male Half-Elf

"If they behaved then I would. Not that hard to figure out, really. We've still got to get the business plan worked out before we go though."

"You're going to go to the ocean? Cool! Can I come too?" Anthony asks excitedly.

"You still haven't told me why you're enrolled at Avalon!"

"You didn't tell me you were going to the ocean, so we're even!"

"I... you..." Micheal sputters. "That doesn't even make sense!"

"If we weren't in public I'd pin you to the ground and tickle your ribs until you cried." He tells his little brother, voice barely more than a whisper.

"You couldn't catch me. You've gone soft without trees around."

Image (doesn't have wings)

"Oh, for crying out loud! You two are as bad as Kyuu-chan and Aoi-chan! Yes, Anthony-kun, you can come to Nishioki too if you want to, but keep in mind we're going to visit my family. A clan of shinobi can be a bit...we'll call it intimidating. If you think you can handle that, AND you get your parents' permission, then you can come too."

"Well, if there isn't anything else, I should go and get some rest before the talent show. Plus I have to break the news to Krays about how much work I just volunteered for," she said, half-joking.

"And thanks. For just taking things in stride. I wish I could. Losing all of the other Ephebe's memories is hard....I was supposed to have more time to adjust. But it's good that James is spending less time in the infirmary these days. I don't mind as much when I realize how much less of a strain it is on him now."

Dennis has established himself in his usual corner of the cafeteria, with a steady stream of customers placing bets on the talent show.

"Well, mostly rough up wimpy looking kids, but I guess that's not really what you're into...uh, one of the student lounges has a pool table I think. But I don't actually know how to play. Well, and the minotaur over there, he takes bets on just about anything. That's fun, especially when playing with someone else's money. Huh.
