Obaa-sama got over being grumpy with surprising swiftness. "Really? How intriguing. And what kind of familiar would you make for me? A flying lizard liek this one?" he asked, pointing at Saffire.
That worked faster than Michael expected.
"I could, I guess. It might not come out exactly how you want it though. Saffire was supposed to be brown and lacking the ability to spit electricity."
"I'd classify Saffire as a mammal actually. He's warm blooded after all, and the base DNA structure I was given to use was mammalian."
"Thank you, Mr. Blackadder," Ori said as she stepped away from the not-tiger and pulled out a sheaf of papers which flew up and folded themselves together into a paper Tyrannosaurus.
The paper Tyrannosaurus roared and bit at the 'tiger'.
Jeran shifted into hybrid form. "Don't use magic on them directly," he growled before concentrating his attacks on the dweomer cat in front of him, punching and biting with sheer strength since his transformation didn't leave him time to gather his ki for a more effective attack.

"A mammal? Really? Fascinating....you know that you might get even more unexpected results from using any of my DNA. As you can see just by looking around, our family has some heritage from the lower realms...probably the abyss, but infernal is not out of the question. That's how our clan got its name. I look forward to seeing the results," he said slapping Michael on the back with surprising strength.
"Oh, right, the hair." The old woman pulled out a small blade and cut off a small lock of grey hair, handing it to Michael. "Make sure not to lose that, boy."
Once she was satisfied that the students were paying attention to her she went on.
"You've all done such a wonderful job getting this stage ready with a minimum of attempts at murdering each other. I knew you could do it. Good work all of you. And as a special reward, since you've done such a good job, the Headmaster has just sent a note saying that you will be allowed to participate in the talent show. Those of you who would like to perform, I suggest that you make your way upstairs and add your names to the sign up sheet and then take the rest of the afternoon to practice your performance."
Having finished her conference with Ghalen, Aananda heads for the lab to try and get some more work done. She rubbed the back of her neck. She was becoming as much of a lab rat as Razule these days. She had to remember to stop and get some fresh air once in a while. Having sent up the security system a few days ago, she'd been doing nothing but calibrating it all week. And now she owed Jim some help as she'd promised on some of his projects.

Krays figures after all of the upheavals lately, she would be working in the lab...question was which one. He heads to the magical constuction lab, and knocks on the door
"Aananda, you in there? It's Krays..."
The magical construction lab was full of students, but no sign of Aananda. When asked the students shrug and say they haven't seen her. It seems likely that she's in the restricted lab.
Once she was satisfied that the students were paying attention to her she went on.

Looking a bit perplexed, Fei almost asks the professor a question. Thinking better of it, he instead takes up a push broom and proceeds to clean the area of the stage he was just working above. (^.^)

"Yes ma'am. Ephebe started her morning sickness this morning. I was wondering if you had constructed a device or imbued an item to help you with nausea when you were with child."
"Oh, my. Yeah, I should have thought of that earlier. It started pretty early for me too. Heh. There's just so much to do and I keep getting distracted....Well, you can't really make it go away completely, but Doc Zeppler gave me some really good anti-nausea medicine and that at least kept the vomiting to a minimum. Umm...I think I have the formula...here, take this to Razule...er, Professor Yrrum, and he can mix it up for you. She can take it before meals and it should help," she said, handing Krays a printout of a stange looking recipe.
"Thank you, Mr. Blackadder," Ori said as she stepped away from the not-tiger and pulled out a sheaf of papers which flew up and folded themselves together into a paper Tyrannosaurus.
The paper Tyrannosaurus roared and bit at the 'tiger'.
The tiger claws and bites at the paper dinosaur viciously, ripping into it as it tries to escape it's jaws.

Snarling under Jeran's assault, the tiger slashes at him and tries to lock it's fanges deep in his throat.
"The alchemy classroom is a good place to start. Even if he's not there someone there should know where to find him. He has to keep his whereabouts known at all times in case of emergency since when alchemy goes wrong it's really an emergency."
Jeran stepped out of the way at the last second and the tiger landed on its back, quickly rolling and getting back to its feet. Jeran snarled at it, drawing on the movement of flowing water to move close to the tiger without allowing it to touch him and the strength of stone to punch through it.
Vai smiled. It was hard not to laugh at Fi's uncaring attitude. The thought of a crowd of boys lining up to watch them was both funny and horrifying at the same time, so Vai giggled."I wish I had your confidence Fi."Vai says when the giggles had subsided. She didn't comment on the stage costume - once again she thought the harness shirt looked very silly.
"Oh, right, the hair." The old woman pulled out a small blade and cut off a small lock of grey hair, handing it to Michael. "Make sure not to lose that, boy."
"I won't. I've got a vial I can keep it until I use it. The potion that was in it rather useful. You just never know what people will say when they think you can't understand them."
Another small rock falls from the ceiling and hits Kyuu on the head, as if to emphasize Michael's point.
"Kitty, we have got to get those loose pieces of ceiling fixed before someone get's hurt."
"I would not presume that a kobold that is allowed to teach gifted students would be a normal kobold."
"That, or the entire school is insane."Tyrrin lowered her voice and leaned in so that it would not be easy to overhear her."Look over there! There's a DEMON sitting at that table. A demon, here in the midst of all these children! I feel as though I am the only sane one left!"
Fieri shrugged. "All I ever heard about how I looked, talked, sat, stood, moved, studied, sang, dressed, whatever...it was all about how I was doing it wrong. I drove myself nuts trying to 'fix' myself to be more like this crazy ideal I was supposed to live up to. And then I met Jiminy. First conversation we ever had he just laughed and told me that I was fine the way I was. It was the first time it ever occurred to me that the problems might not be with me. Since then I've not worried about what other people thought about me. After all, the only one whose opinion I care about thinks I'm fine just the way I am," she said with a bright smile.
Ehos considered the elemental's words. It was difficult not to simply speak, and once again Ehos was glad for the scarf he had wrapped around his mouth. He flips the page on the notebook - he paused briefly to wonder where it had come from - and writes again. 'Well, at least it seems the pair of us are in the right place. The Headmaster seems to care deeply about his students.'

"Kitty, we have got to get those loose pieces of ceiling fixed before someone get's hurt."
Kitty giggled as Kyuu yelped in pain.
Marui shook her head. "Kyuu, go fetch that trunk we brought. Clearly you'll get in less trouble out there than in here. Nanami, go and help. Kyuu and Aoi running loose in a school together is a recipe for trouble."
"Yes, Okaa-san," Kyuu and Nanami said in unison with the same annoyed tone.
Vai nodded and smiled back at her sister."James certainly does have a way of making people feel like they belong. From what Mom told me about when your family visited... they don't sound like the kind of people I could've been friends with. I'm glad you're happy now."

"Even if they're awful people, it still hurts when your family doesn't want you. But I'm glad to be part of the Sunwake family now. As crazy as they are, at least you know you can always count on them no matter what."
'I think the orange top with the feathers will work best with these pants. Definitely."
Jeran stepped out of the way at the last second and the tiger landed on its back, quickly rolling and getting back to its feet. Jeran snarled at it, drawing on the movement of flowing water to move close to the tiger without allowing it to touch him and the strength of stone to punch through it.
The tiger twitches violently as Jeran's fist comes out the other side of it's body. It slumps to the ground, lifeless.

Ghalen looks at Phaezeriel, going through the alignment gambit/
"That demon is probably also an oddity for it's norm, jsut as the kobold was. I can detect no hint of evil from it. From what I can tell, that demon would allow great injury to itself in the course of protecting innocents.
Not, to be rude, Tyrrin, but you really should not throw the 'seer' bit around if you are so quick to judge on appearances only. Just from the little while I've been here, I know there is much more here than meets the eye, and not all potential enemies are as apparent as you would think. Nor are all allies. Were I a prophet, I would say the next few days should prove most...revealing."
He flashes his silver eyes at her as he awaits her response.

::Well, Phaezeriel, do you have any more questions concerning these guys? I'm just about done eating, so I thought I'd go back to the lab to collect my tools, and rest for a while. I've been working too much lately, and as important as my current assignment is, if I keep going, I'll mess up.::
Tyrrin was disturbed by the flashing of the eyes, but was still focusing on the quesiton of the quasit."Fool. There are ways to hide your true nature from magic. If the administration is fooled as easily are you are, then it's no doubt how that quasit came to be in the school. Further,"she paused, trying to calm down. She was angry. This petulant child had quite the nerve. She did not succeed in calming herself down."I never claimed to be a seer, nor a prophet. I do not know what you mean about the next few days, and with the way this conversation is going, I doubt very much I WOULD like to know."With that, Tyrrin stomps out of the cafeteria, seething. Her breakfast remains mostly uneaten.
Hm, I read to much into the "Kyuu and Aoi" part of that post, didn't I?
Yeah, sorry if I was unclear. Kitty's mom was saying that Kyuu and Aoi shouldn't be allowed to roam unsupervised together so she sent Kyuu and Nanami instead. Aoi is staying. It's also a chance for Nanami to smack Kyuu upside the head for being so unhelpful while the rest of them were trying to convince Obaa-sama to do what they wanted,ie let Kitty stop shinobi training. Family politics are complicated. :)
Ghalen, blinks a few times at her outburst, shrugs, and goes back to eating his breakfast, adding what's left of hers to his own.
"Don't worry, I'll clear your tray for you, your Worship." he says to no one in particular.
Fei completes his cleanup, then puts away the remaining equipment and heads out, climbing the stairs out of the basement and going to the Cafeteria for (yet another) overdue breakfast.
Vai empathizes heavily with her sister about her family not wanting, and agrees with her assessment of the Sunwake family. They had NEVER, not once, let her down."I'm glad these are stage costume Fieri. They are strange, to say the least."Vai was looking with curiosity at what appeared to be a leather bracelet with metal spikes sticking out of it."That doesn't look safe at all."
"And they keep a medic around for the inevitable wardrobe malfunctions," Ephebe finished. "No more shoulder spikes, 'kay? Regeneration is no fun for anyone and after that Giles kid put his eye out cause he was headbanging too close to his guitarist....well, it wouldn't have been so bad of the spikes hadn't been so tall and the guitarist hadn't been a gnome, but you get the idea."
"I hope they made extra today!" He said holding the door open for Nala.
"Hey, Fei. Good morning!" Ryuzo says with a bow, holding the door for him as well.
"The harp was always my favourite instrument"Vai says whistfully, talking almost to herself as she looks through the rack the sisters had been sorting through.
