Amada gladly goes to the library with her. "Sure, I'd love to."
"Well, that went about as badly as it could have," she sighed, as they walked down the hallway.
"Amada, watch out!" she shrieked, spotting a moving puddle up ahead.

"That is good to know. Having things decided for you at birth...well, I can see how others would find it... distasteful. Do hunters have a code of ethics or rules of engagement? A code of honor? Would a hunter lie or cheat or mislead a possible enemy in the course of a hunt? Do they care about collateral damage to non-prey?"
The ooze goes by Ephebe but is going too fast on the smooth floor to stop. It crashes into the wall. It regroups and moves towards the pair again (at the same speed).
I totally forgot I had a status cast on Ephebe...would that have picked up the emotional rolelr coaster earlier, and her panic now?
Hmmm....it's a tough call as to whether she would have been considered panicked or not. The spell tracks conditions not emotions... I'm gonna say no so far. But of course he'd know right away if she were wounded or such.
"Those are questions I cannot answer. The answer to each of them differs clan to clan, and sometimes even Hunter to Hunter. We were not a single organization for long once we came to Agartha, so I'm told."

Sighs
Draconic:
"So...there are rules all Hunters have to follow, but others vary from Clan to Clan or even Individual to individual, or is it they're just like everyone else, with both good and evil folks among them? Do Hunters only exist here on Agartha?" Pauses for a second... "Is any one clan especially well known for treacherous actions or lack of concern for innocents?"
Jiminy focused his reality bending ability on the pipe the slime creature had escaped from, making it narrower and narrower in an attempt to stop any more overgrown snot balls from getting out.
"That would depend entirely on who you ask. To some, we are protectors of Agartha, to others, we are a scourge within the earth. To put it simple, we were like everyone else here in Agartha. We did not originate here in Agartha, but were sent here by someone(the texts are old and faded, so most don't know who sent us anymore) to kill every single amethyst dragon we could find. Obviously, we failed."
"As for any specific clan.. I am sorry, again it is something that differs amongst our people."
"One thing you should know though, that has nothing to do with Hunters directly, is that it is best if Ephebe stays afraid of me and away from my cousins. I am not choosing sides in this fight between her kind and the other Hunter."
He pauses.
If you or your friends start acting differently towards me, it could tip off the Hunter that something has changed. If he thinks I am an ally, he may target my cousins. After I deal with him I will come after you for putting them in danger, however indirectly."
She burst into the gym, gun in hand and looking a little freaked out.
"Ah, Ephebe! How goes my star theology student?"
Ephebe wrote:
"Mom! There's an ooze wandering the hall! I hit it with a slow spell, but it needs to be contained before it eats someone!"
"Well, that can't be good. The oozes usually stay in the pipes where there is plenty of food..."

Frowns
Draconic:
"That is unfortunate, but understood. I would not wish for any harm to befall children, no matter the intentions. If he is truly ruthless, he may use them to get you involved anyway, no matter how neutral you wish to remain." Looks serious "I appreciate your candor. Let me return the favor. I do not count you as an enemy, but I see Ephebe and the others as clan members now, and will defend them appropriately. If you should prove to be an enemy, for any reason, I promise that after I kill you and the other hunter, your cousins will be looked after." He looks weary "I hope it doesn't have to come to that." He bows to Lysander "I am Krays, by the way."
I should add here, yes he is a kobold, yes he is a small creature. Lysander may not take his threat seriously, and who'd blame him. But a Sense Motive will tell him that Krays believes he could dispatch him, if it came down to it. It's not bravado.
"I understand completely, and would have been disappointed if you had threatened anything else. If you would like to see where we stand in terms of matched power, there is a Snipe Hunt later today. I usually avoid such events, but I could make an exception."
"Well, that can't be good. The oozes usually stay in the pipes where there is plenty of food..."
Not to sound snippy (I probably will), but the fact that the oozes are secret is rather important in defining Vakkler's character. He does his best to keep creatures like Keaton (and pretty much anybody)out of the sewers so nobody can discover his duplicity. So it kind of irritates me when you seem to take it for granted that not only does Keaton know, but that he throws it out in front of students without any sort of discretion. I apologize if I was unclear about the general knowledge of the oozes, so I'd like to repeat it more plainly: Unless there's a good reason, I'd prefer nobody know about the state of the sewers. If this is too much to hope for, then I'd appreciate at least some token secrecy in front of the student body.

Chuckles...
Draconic:
"I like the way you think, but I have already agreed to assist with the inevitable wounded. Suffice to say, I suspect you've a good measure of power if you're willing to casually upset dragons!" He pauses, a thoughtful look on his face "I also wouldn't want to give any third party observers a free show to take notes from, if you get my drift." He nods to himself, then voices his thoughts"You are well met, Lysander, and I hope that when your cousins are safe, I may call you friend. Until then, know that you have my respect, no matter what events befall us. I will not ease Ephebe's or the other's fears."
Asch Redgrave(Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate)
Asch starts to rush Keaton and skids to a stop as Amada and Ephebe run back into the gym. "Wait what happened?!?! Are you ok Amada?!" He asks completely forgetting about Keaton.
She blinked. His telepathy was already improving. He hadn't even shouted at her that time.
Spin:
Spoiler:
::Unless you have a good way to fight an acidic goo creature you should stay here. Oozes can dissolve flesh. I'd rather you didn't end up getting digested.::
Asch Redgrave(Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate)
Asch whispers back.
Spin:
"Do you think he brought it with him and it got out? Wait Kobold wear underwear?"
He still keeps his eyes on the vampire watching just in case he does anything. He stands next to Amada with one arm around her waist.
: : I can't think of anything, but I'm not sitting out if other people are going. Ya never know, maybe I'll surprise you-- : :
The thought is cut off by Asch's whisper, and he whispers back.
Asch:
"Ha. He sure seemed surprised enough by the ooze. His big body-guard guy was the one to see it, actually. And it stole some of Krays's eyeballs... I know, weird."
Asch Redgrave(Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate)
"Eyes!" Asch exclaims then looks around and drops his voice back down to a whisper.
Spin:
"Why does he have eyes....never mind.... I really don't want to know."
::I'm not sure I can handle any more surprises today.:: Her thought was tinged with amusement and something else that was a little harder to pinpoint, but felt like maybe admiration.
She took a deep breath. Okay, she could do this. Pretend like everything was normal. She was good at that. She'd had practice.
"So, I guess we're not going to the library after all. Might as well stay and finish class then," she said to Amada.
"Keaton, watch the class for a minute. I'm going to go box this thing up before any students get hurt."
She dashed out of the gym and started looking for the ooze.
Aananda finds the ooze 'chasing' after an amused dwarf student. The dwarf is moving comically slow to 'flee' the retarded slime.
Did I use that word in the correct, non-offensive way? I'm not sure it's even usable anymore... :P
Meanwhile, Jiminy sees another slime start to ooze out of the pipes. He seems to have slowed it/them down, but not stopped them.
Aananda stomps on the floor to bring stones up around the creature and gestures, bringing her hand together as the stone flowed up and around the ooze encasing it completely.
"What were you thinking?" she snapped at the student. "What would you have done if that spell had worn off?! I suggest you think about that since I expect you to write me an essay on the subject tonight in detention!"
"Now go fetch Vakkler Relkav. Underground creatures are his specialty, he should know what to do with this one," she added, looking at the stone box uncertainly. What was she supposed to do with it now?
She heard the scream and went running towards it. She found James trying to keep away from another hungry ooze, this one not moving slowly at all.
"James, get into the hall," she called out, waiting just a moment to let him go past before bringing up more stone to box the second ooze.
This one is moving at normal speed so it should probably get a reflex save to avoid being trapped.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The ooze is unable to escape before being trapped.
That sentence reads oddly strange. Almost nearly redundant or something or other...

"The pipe! They're coming out of the pipe. I made it smaller, but all that did was slow them down. There's still more down there," Jiminy said from the hallway.
Jiminy blushed and rubbed the back of his neck self-consciously.
"I didn't do it!" he blurted out. "I mean, I was going to do something, but then there were goo balls coming out of the pipes, so I never actually did anything! This time," he added, sheepishly.

Vakkler clenches his fist, eye narrowed. "Y-your--ma'am, with all due respect, your son is a born liar. I think it quite likely that these oozes came from him."
"No, Vakkler, that you're wrong about. James is a born troublemaker, but he's painstakingly honest about it. Not a lot of point in trying to lie in a family of telepaths. I believe him. Although we're going to have a little talk later about what you were planning to do, James," she added darkly.
"Hey, I was just going to release some tiny ice elementals into the showers!" Jiminy said, alarmed at Vakkler's accusation. "But I only got as far as opening up the pipe!"

"Oozes. I've got two of them boxed up," she said, pointing to the stone box in the hallway and the one in the bathroom, "and I've put a cap on the pipe they were climbing out of. There's still more down there. Not sure how we ended up with oozes in the school, but we obviously can't have them attacking the students. I'm...well, really I have no idea how to deal with these things. I've got them trapped, but now what?"

"Erm...perhaps put them back?"
"In the pipes? But they'll just get out again," she said doubtfully. "These things were acting really hungry. And we can't have them trying to eat the students."
