I'm going to end up saving you both, aren't I?

This is a distinct possibility.

"What in the world did I do to end up with some one like you?" Michael asks as he grins weakly. "Or is it what you did to get stuck with me?"

She smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips. "I'm happy to be stuck with you. And you're stuck with me too. I'm very stubborn. In case you hadn't figured that out already."

Looking for you certainly explains why I wasn't around to stop the immolation demon.

I'll blame you for that somehow.

"I never would have guessed." Michael says as he leans against the shelter wall. "It's not very obvious at all. Even to someone feeling as drained as I am right now."

Oh, like I made you leave and come looking for me. But sure why not blame me? We have to have something to fight about during family get-togethers.

CLICK....CLICK...CLICK..

A fiend turns to look over its shoulder. It spots nothing, going back to bickering with the rest of fiends over what to do about their falling numbers.

CLICK....CLICK....CLICK...

Again it looks over to see nothing.

CLICK...CLICK...

It spins around hot with anger still seeing nothing. The moments drag on until finally it turns away.

CLICK...CLICK...CLICK..CLICK...CLICK...

It chooses to ignore it this time. Suddenly its nearly falling forward from a strike to the back of its head. It roars drawing the attention of the others. It finally spies a small clockwork humanoid snickering before it. It gives the fiends a rude gesture then dashes away around the corner. The fiends hot on its trail round the corner and come to a stop. The entire hall seemed to be covered in clockwork creatures from bugs the size of house cats to humanoid warriors in full armor. A clockwork pocketwatch stands atop the snickering clockwork from earlier. It tosses the lead fiend a note.

Note:

Welcome to the house of hard clocks.

Just as the fiend looks up the pocketwatch lands spread eagled on its face, its clockhand sword deep in its eye. The rest of the clockworks surge forward like a wave over the fiends.

A short time later the pocketwatch is walking thru the halls wearing a imp's head for a hat. It spots a small slurk, the two eye each other for a moment.

......CLICK..
.......RIBBIT....

The pocketwatch salutes then moves on. The slurk nods and does the same.

I could not resist before all the fiends were gone.

Male Pygmy Slurk

Slarrow hops off, pondering the pocket watch's appearance. Its size indicates another foe...but Slarrow senses that this creature is nothing like Ruji.
The slurk decides to avoid such strange creatures as he hops outside to watch the last of the quasits fly off toward the town, pursued by a furious pack of cave toads. At least three of the demons remain, and Slarrow's brethren lack the wits to leave the summoned ones alone.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. At least then we'll have some idea what we're walking into."

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

Nods
"You heard her, now go look. Keep your presence as hidden as possible."
They bow, and move off down the corridor...

The shadows move through the halls to the room where the sound is coming from and there they see a construct that looks like it was built by something truly insane, with gears, blades and other bits sticking out at irregular intervals. It sees them and makes a strange noise that might be a chuckle. It rumbles eerily throughout the pyramid. the thing makes no move to stop the shadows' retreat.

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

Pain and then darkness. Then peace and warmth which is quickly shattered by the cold passionless voice of his father. ::Pathetic. What are you doing do you think I trained and raised you to let you die at the hands of a demon? Use it…use the powers you gained through my blood.:: Almost immediately memmories better kept forgotten burst through the dams of Asch's mind. Countless hours of torture followed by tests to see how quickly a dhampir healed. Followed by modifications both magical and mundane. The taste of fresh blood and the euphoria that came with it as flesh healed followed quickly by shame and disgust. Followed by even more torture. ::Yes that's right my son remember the feeling and taste remember the euphoria. Your not human they are prey remember how to live of the living like a true vampire. Let's be honest your nothing but a failure but you are all that remains of my blood. So use it and DRINK!!!::

Asch's eyes open up to the intoxicating scent of blood. He doesn't even see Enre he only knows there is life giving blood nearby. He latches down with a strength that rivals Enre's own and bites down where the balor's blade rent his armor. He takes in mouthfuls of blood like a man dying of thirst. The only thing Asch feels is euphoria as the blood heals him. The next thing is a pain in his back as Enre throws him against it hard enough to crack the wall. He rebounds from the wall and rushes colliding with a body and bites down taxing the sweeter blood of a female. A voice cuts through his blindness a familiar voice saying a familiar name. "Asc…Asch…" Realization dawns as his sight returns to find Amada in his embrace unconscious. In his blind need for blood he attacked Amada with out knowing it. He collapses to the ground as hd gags on Enre's blood and the blood of his beloved. "Why…what have I done what have you done?" He asks himself and his father getting no response.

Amadas eyes widened with fear, the kind of fear that leaves a metalic taste in your mouth. She stepped back realizing Asch was not himself. " My love...."
Amada felt a sharp pain like a needle on fire. Her last thought was how she loved the scent of Asch's hair, his smile and how she wished he would wake up from whatever spell he was under and return to her. A single tear cold as ice and a faint gasp. Darkness fell all around.

Male Unknown 16 Invulnerable Rager/ 16 Hex Crafter Magus

Enre growls after being bitten but than notices Asch looking sick on the floor with his friend knocked out as well. Shaking his head he turns to the elf man and asks "Think you can help her to? If not I can carry the both of them."

THe shadows return, and inform Krays of what they had seen, in hisses and dark whispers that send shivers up your spine.

Michael laughs again.

"It was a joke, Kitty. Tell ya what, you keep helping me in PE and I'll help you with alchemy. You're not in it, I think, but the basics can be fun."

Thought I had a lifeline, but I just checked my Dragonstar material, and it looks like all the nice construct-damaging spells are either Sorc/Wiz, or the druid spell crumble from the Spell Compendium.

(Though the text describing crumble makes it sound like it could be a candidate for a Time domain spell. Hmmm....)

As a sorc/oracle I have to pick my spells known...that ain't on there :P

She has a couple of Time abilities that will work, especially since they're supernatural abilities not spells. A lot of the issue here is confidence on her part rather than lack of combat options. :)

Basicly if it ain't alive or undead, Krays is out of his element. The price of sepcialization :P

MEANWHILE..............A little intro for Vai.

Spoiler:
Like so many of the 'primitive' worlds being forcefully inducted into the Dragon Empire by Emperor Mezzenbone, the world of Belsayv became a playground for his loyal chromatic vassals. For the blue dragon Aegathrax, it became a new laboratory and personal 'resort'. He used the natives' total ignorance of the greater universe around them to install himself as a god-like figure in the remote hinterlands of the planet's primary continent, where he could ensure himself a steady supply of new test subjects for his...'work'.

Word of Aegathrax's experiments finally reached the Resistance about a year ago. A plan was hatched to corner the blue on one of his more remote 'outposts' and send him to the afterlife. The caliber of his unique half-draconic progeny was more than they anticipated when they stormed his lair on Belsayv, and they were delayed by his creations long enough for Aegathrax to destroy his hideout and escape.

After slaying the last of the creatures thrown against them, the Resistance operatives started to comb through the wreckage for any salvageable intelligence or equipment. What they found instead was the almost-dead body of Vai Emkar, buried under rubble but protected by a support beam that left a cavity for her stasis bed.

The operatives were able to extract her (and much of the data from her bed's still-intact computer) and bring her to one of their bases for long-term care. After going over the notes of the blue dragon and observing Vai's potential instabilities, they decided to pass this information up the chain of command.

A missive was sent to the Resistance flagship, the Harbinger Ascendant. The child needed to be sent someplace far away from Imperial eyes, but with access to the technology and magic and people needed to help her come to terms with what she had become. The Avalon Academy would be the perfect place for all of these things.

A heavily encrypted sending spell is sent to Master Sunwake's personal communicator to arrange the transfer...

Hope that bit o' backstory 'fleshing out' works for everybody...

*trying to convince himself he won't rescue the dragons*

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

Asch doesn't wait for permission from those around him and picks up Amada and teleports to the nearest safe zone. Which interestingly enough also has Michael in it. "Help please she nee…" He says hoarsely before coollapsing to The floor exhaustion taking over.

Male Half-Elf

Michael sits straight up as Asch suddenly appears a few yards away, and he doesn't relax when Asch collapses.

"Where's a healer when you need one?" He curses. Surely someone around here could heal...

Even Below 50 = Unconscious Healer.
1d100 ⇒ 19

Michael, almost against his will, gets up and goes over to Amada. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he gasps lightly. He could see where every injury was. His mind brings up a memory of a "bonemenber" he'd heard explain his ability once, and went work.

To everyone else in the shelter, Michael seems deathly still, but Amada is starting to breath easier.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

"Okay, well, I'm not having any luck getting through telepathically. So I guess we're on our own for now. I think it's probably better to try and take care of this thing on our terms than risk having it come hunting us and catch us by surprise. And if we get in too far over our heads, we can always teleport away, right? So yeah..." She looked nervous, but seemed to be trying to talk herself into this.

Ephebe:
"Stop thinking about it so much and go." The whisper comes again, seeming a little annoyed this time

Image (doesn't have wings)

Kitty kept a close watch on Michael as he healed Amada, amazed at this sudden new ability.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Ephebe startled again. "Geez....maybe I put a little too much juice in that amulet?"

"Ummm....anyways, so yeah...let's get going," she said, leading the way down the hallway towards the old torture chamber.

Male Mite Rogue 8

A little blue mite looks at Michael from behind a corner, eyes wide with fear. "How you...did that?"

Male Baelnorn (Elven Lich) Diviner/Summoner -

"If you would come along before it fades. Youngsters always so quick to act without thinking."

Filne had another little known spell, one his people normally used against fleeing magical killers. But it would only be useable for a few more moments. He quickly cast the spell, he hated how it felt. His body seemed to get sucked into the spot where Asch disappeared. He exited in the same spot Asch had as well, he stumbled over landing on his side. He pulled himself up and dusted off feeling a little less impressive then he was expected to be.

"Aham I think I can help her or rather someone I can call."

He snaps his fingers and an armored helmed figure wielding an immense axe with two pairs of wings appears near him.

"Would you be so kind as to heal her."

The axe glows in response pouring healing magic into Amada. It seemed he was a little late, but you could never complain about being overly healed now could you.

Eidolon used cure moderate wounds on Amada. Enre did not want to handle your guy so you can come along or stay behind. Edited, I took to long lol.

Male Half-Elf

Um... you realize I'm already healing her, right?

Edit: Ah, never mind, missed the part about "being late".

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

She stopped outside the door and took a deep breath. "Alright, I can flicker in and out of time which should minimize the number of times I get hit, but I can only keep that up for a minute and a half so let's hope that we can end this quickly."

She motioned for Krays to open the door and her form started flickering as she moved into the room at speed, barely taking the time to notice the construct inside before she started throwing blades.

"I don't know, but whoever it is is unconscious..." A quick search found no more injuries, but he added an extra shot of "get better" to be safe. He goes back to sit against the wall and quickly starts to doze.

The creature clanked and sqeauled as it's spinning blades came to life. It was vaguely almost humanoid, but with so many different sharp bits sticking off here and there and so asymmetrically arranged that it just seemed inherently wrong, a divine mistake that should have been sent to the scrap heap. It unleashed a horrific blast of noise.
