Serrin listen to everything Umbral said, thinking, and considering his words. It was a lot to take in. She was exactly religious, though she did sorta pray to some of the various powers of darkness, shadow and the night. And supposedly she was now talking to the uber big daddy of them all. Darkness itself!

"Ok, so suppose I agree, what does that actually entail? Spreading your influence is a little vague. Do you want me to go around snuffing out candles and torches?" She said the last sarcastically.

The darkness snorted. "Well, I've heard worse ideas," Umbral said responding in kind. "But that wasn't exactly what I had in mind. The whole influence spreading job is, admittedly, open to interpretation. But in my case I would prefer it if you would work on improving my reputation. This nonsensical idea that Darkness is always aligned with bad or evil...an annoying pack of lies. But a persistent one. Lumos has done too good a job of convincing people that he's the 'good' one. Also a lie. We are neither good or evil. We just are. But this belief has increased Lumos's influence more than I would like. Time for a little PR for my side I think. That was more what I had in mind."

"Ah." Djalos pauses for a moment. "I currently have two dozen daggers, half cold iron and half silver, three different poisons, two blade boots, a hand crossbow, two punching daggers, and pouches of inhaled poison or ground substances that are anathema to certain beings on my person, as well as my primary weapons and my armor concealed beneath an illusion." Another pause. "I would appreciate it if you didn't go near me. Your aura may disrupt some delicate enchantments."

"Like Adon said, I always carry a weapon. Force of habit I suppose. Plus, we're going into the libray, and not just the tame sections. It's a good idea to be prepared to defend yourself if necessary. And try to be a little sensitive, Djalos. Adon's got enough to deal with. He doesn't need you making him feel bad about something he can't control," she scolded gently

Ghalen angrily cries out as the acid burns through the holes in his already compromised armor. With Elektra through the window, Ghalen takes his dragon form, and bathes the area in fire.

Swift to change form, standard action breath weapon; 50 ft. cone of fire 12d8 DC 31 reflex for half. His fire aura also triggers, every thing within 5 ft. takes 1d6 fire damage, no save. Frightful presence is also DC 31, if appropriate.
Increase in CON affords him more HPs, although he is still barely on the good side of half health.

Ghalen's breath weapon clears the bugs away from him. As before they break into pieces and then reassemble themselves. There doesn't seem to be any way to actually destroy them for good. At least, none that he's seen so far.

Lyn, would Ehos have invited Silinrul? Given that he's not only Jai's brother, but also has expressed a desire(I *think*) of ending the war tween the elves and lycans. I know Ty is bringing Ace, Ginni and Ghalen. I don't know if Ehos ever invited Anahita or not

Ehos did invite Anahita already. But obviously that was before she was moved into the background. She may have changed her mind. I don't have any real reason for Sil not to go, except that it might be met with even more hostility than just Jaiye. On account of the whole elf-lycan war and all. Even if he's interested in peace, doesn't mean all of them feel the same way.

"Yes, sure. Go and do what you must to save your boyfriend and rid him of that demoness' influence." He looks to Morrivan "Would you be interested in helping me watch Cho? If not, I believe I can manage on my own for a few hours"

"Well, I guess I might as well. It's not like I have anywhere better to be," Morrivan said with a shrug.

"Sheesh, I was just trying to be nice" The roguish young man grabs some bacon Because, Avalon *better* have breakfast any time some milk and proceeds to feed Squeaky the treats.

"Boys," Ginni said, rolling her eyes. "You're both pretty, now can we just eat our dinner," [i]she joked.

"Well, you've never had any trouble talking to me, so I guess it wasn't that important of a lesson," she said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "You just need the right conversation partner."

"Or just to not think about it." He replies as they walk into the city and head for the seafood restaurant. "I find that easy when I'm with you. Not thinking, I mean. No, wait, that sounds bad. Uh..."

Using Firestorm to make 4 attacks for a total of 12d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 6, 3, 1, 5, 1, 5, 2, 5, 2) = 38 healing

Ace sighs dramatically "I try to be nice, people give me a hard time. I'm more of an arrogant jerk, people give me a hard time. Nobody understands me" He flashes Ginni a grin. "I hope Phaez is OK, he's a good friend, and I'm a little worried about him"

Kitty laughed. "Well, that certainly explains a lot. Okaa-san always said that you can be really certain that someone likes you when they have trouble putting coherent thoughts together in your presence...actually that sounds rather odd, come to think of it. It would make life very complicated. Think of all the conversations you could never have..,"

"Or verbally stumble through!" He laughs. Saffire finally manages to eat the last of his super chewy treat and cheeps angrily at Michael for the trick. "Sorry, buddy, you get loud sometimes."

"I'm guessing that the latter of those two options comes w tad more natural for you eh?" He holds his expression for all of about five seconds before snorting "again, I'm just joking with ya, you seem like a decent enough dude"

Pretty soon, Lucas finishes his food "well, it had been fun, but I have homework that requires completion. the professor has me researching the difference between true names and personal sidgils and how they effect a summons, you are both welcome to join, and perhaps I could help you with any homework you yourselves have, but I'm not liable to be very entertaining"

Cindra waves to Lucas, "I will pass, thanks all the same. Summoning is not really my 'thing'."

She turns to look at Phaedra, "How about you, Cousin? You want to hang out a while longer or are you ready to head back to the other side?"

Since he drove back the swarm, the only damage he takes this round is the 10d6 ongoing, and the swarm's action for the round is rebuilding themselves.

Ghalen takes the opportunity to leave and meet up with Elektra, changing back to human form and jumping through the window.

He winces as he takes more damage from the acid...
"Those things are amazingly annoying..." he says to Elektra, with a nod to Ardiente and Fei.

"We'd better wait till everyone is here before we try that again..."

Serrin nods in agreement at Umbral words "Welp, I guess you chose a good candidate then. I've been fascinated by, well you, I suppose, since I was little. I definitely know you aren't evil, or bad. Spooky, creepy, sure, but not evil. At least, not necessarily. And this was all before I truly came into my own, and learned of my heritage. So sure, I will gladly accept being your Champion, and helping right the misconception that you're evil"

"I... apologize." Despite his stilted tone, both can tell that the elf is genuinely sorry. "I wasn't aware that there were dangerous sections of the library. I will keep that in mind. Shall we go?"

"How bad will it be for us to engage these machines inside the building?" he asks the two of them once their healing has taken hold.

Looks on in interest as both Elektra's and his wounds seal up, and his armor repairs.

"Could we disrupt or jam their signal somehow? Or otherwise prevent their ability to self heal?"

"Until we can negate whatever allows them to jam our own signals, I do not know how viable that option (as good as it is) could be," Fei replies as he ponders both Ghalen's and Ardiente's statements.

"It is possible that my own nanites could attempt to take control of some of these machines and possibly take control of the whole collective, much like a virus. Given the ease with which they have compromised our own systems here, though, they could potentially do the same thing...and that could pose a rather dangerous risk to everything in the vicinity." (-_-)

"Interesting. What are the chances of your nanites being taken over by them instead?"

"Interesting. What are the chances of your nanites being taken over by them instead?"

"As I said, given the ease with which they took over the facility, I have to consider their chances at least as worthy of note. It would be a gamble. Though the nanites would most likely destroy themselves before being overtaken....thus the potentially 'dangerous risk to everything in the vicinity'."

"On the other hand, I do have a group of nanites in the computer system in Assembly 1. I do not think they have been compromised yet...or at least found. I was looking for information on the unusual disappearances of supplies there - which I now think is related to these machines."

"Before the machines attacked you, were you able to determine what they were doing inside the facility?" Fei asks Ghalen and Elektra.

adon is about to seal up, then falls quiet. Once dajalos finishes his sentence...
"There are rather dangerous books deeper in, but they recoil or leave at my touch. I seem to inflict fear on most of the magical books. If not all."

"Before the machines attacked you, were you able to determine what they were doing inside the facility?" Fei asks Ghalen and Elektra.

"No, not really. The machinery in there was building a shuttle, but I don't know if that was due to them or just business as usual."

"Odd power fluctuations. Seemingly random parts disappearing from inventory. Shuttle assembly (at least in this building) proceeding as normal," Fei states as he counts off each point with a free hand.

"I am beginning to think we need to somehow open a dialogue with these machines rather than assume they need to be destroyed. We are missing something important here."

"Diplomacy is certainly an option. Although I did go in there trying to look non threatening and was attacked immediately. I'm not against trying again, though."

Cindra waves to Lucas, "I will pass, thanks all the same. Summoning is not really my 'thing'."

She turns to look at Phaedra, "How about you, Cousin? You want to hang out a while longer or are you ready to head back to the other side?"

Phaedra made a face. "No way!" she said emphatically. "I'd much rather hang out with you than go back," she said with what she really, really hoped was a winning smile. She really didn't like being all on her own in the elementary division. She'd always had siblings and cousins around and had no clue how to cope with being alone.

"Wonderful. Er, you might perhaps want to find some adjectives other than spooky and creepy though. Comforting perhaps? Soothing even. The idea is to get people to like me, not reinforce stereotypes," Umbral added, sulkily. "I'm a very likable being! And let's not forget emotionally stable. In spite of recent upsetting setbacks."

"Fei's nanites have their own integration and improvement subroutines, but they started out as normal nanites. Mom's design. The machines in there won't be able to take them over. They would just shut down. Not actually sure of the potential explosiveness of the shutdown. Normal nanites just crumble into dust, so I'm thinking that any potential explosions would actually be on a very small scale, pun slightly intended. I mean, we're talking fireworks not singularity grenades, is all I'm saying. At least that's my best guess. Fei does have a tendency to supercharge things."
"So they've been stealing parts....maybe to make more robots? I mean, that's how nanites work. They grab onto whatever substances they can in order to make more nanites. It's not that difficult since they mostly want carbon atoms. So we're dealing with slightly larger robots that reproduce on the same scale as nanites, which is, quite frankly horrifying. And they're trying to build a shuttle...the question is whether they have intelligence or whether they act on pure instinct... They may be trying to use the shuttle assembly to make a really big bug, or they may be looking for better resources. We can't do much without better information. The key thing here is to get some form of communication going, yes. I agree with Fei. But as Ghalen pointed out, we can't communicate with them in person since they assume hostility as soon as someone enters the building. OKay...."

"If I can get close enough to the building, I should be able to re-establish contact with my nanites and direct them to communicate with these machines."

Her face smoothed quickly, however, and though she tried not to, her voice took on a little bit of a pedantic tone, "Well, did you actually like doing any of the things Lily made you do? Did you look forward to any of them?"

Lucas adds "Was there anything you've seen me or anyone here do that seemed interesting?"

Djalos begins moving into the library.

So Lyn, I don't really know if there's anything to do with Sil, Morrivan and Cho. Should we just fade that scene? Or is there something planned?

James recognizes the spark of an idea cross Fei's features briefly before they relocate to the exterior of Assembly 1.

Assuming they arrive without incident, Fei will then approach the building (being careful to avoid windows and open doors) and attempt to restore the connection to the nanites in the computer system inside.

Cindra's expression sours a little at the name of her least favorite cousin. Her face smoothed quickly, however, and though she tried not to, her voice took on a little bit of a pedantic tone, "Well, did you actually like doing any of the things Lily made you do? Did you look forward to any of them?"

Lucas adds "Was there anything you've seen me or anyone here do that seemed interesting?"

Phaedra frowned thoughtfully. "I liked it when she decided we needed to have a spa day. I mean, who doesn't like hot mud baths? But the rest of it...I'm not sure if I dislike it or if I just dislike being criticized while trying. I think I'd like it if I had a pet," she continued, glancing at Icarus. "I know Icarus is a familiar and not a pet, but you have to have powers to have a familiar," she said, shoulders slumping a little at the reminder that at twelve years old she'd never produced so much as a hint of either fire or magic. Even embarrassing or weird powers would be better than nothing at all. "And I've always thought it would be nice to have an animal to take care of. That's probably not something we can do tonight even if it were allowed. Ummm.....Balloonball? Think aerial soccer played in bird form That always looked like fun... Or I'm open to other suggestions..."

As Fei goes about attempting to communicate with the bugs, Ardiente looks to Jiminy "What can I do in the meantime boss?"

Djalos begins moving into the library.

It seems to be just a normal library at first. Sadie strides confidently past the stacks at the beginning, going as fast as Djalos and Adon can keep up with. What they were looking for was much further in. After a little while the stacks start to change, the wooden shelves replaced with metal ones lined with books on mathematics (with no magic to them at all) and ancient science texts, hopelessly out of date.

Ginni smiles back. "Well, that might very well be a first, someone being convinced to become more good because of dating a demon," she joked and then made a face. "Okay, it still sounds so bad. I know I can't help what I was born as, and at least I survived the transformation with my soul intact. But I don't know if I'm ever going to be totally happy about this."

"Thanks," she said, relaxing as she no longer had to worry about flashing her teammates. She shrugged. "Modesty is a really big deal among firebirds. We've got so many cultural taboos we have to keep lists," she added with a grin of her own. "Can't go breaking all of those at once. We just can't handle it."

So Lyn, I don't really know if there's anything to do with Sil, Morrivan and Cho. Should we just fade that scene? Or is there something planned?

Nothing particular planned, no. It's basically just a chance for Sil and Morrivan to interact since they have some stuff in common. Up to you if you want to play that out.

Assuming they arrive without incident, Fei will then approach the building (being careful to avoid windows and open doors) and attempt to restore the connection to the nanites in the computer system inside.

As long as he makes physical contact with the building itself, that should be sufficient to connect with the nanites in the computer. They can basically make a direct line to him that way, thus overriding the communication jamming.

Fei's nanites show a consistent power draw into a back room of assembly 1 over the past few days. There is still a power draw to that particular room, but now most of the power is being diverted to assembly 2.
