The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Pleasurable and fun are two different things, for one. I'd much Pefer to wander and see new places then do that. Not to mention sustaining a relationship is really hard when you don't want to settle down anywhere for any amount of time."

flounce is mildly embarrassed at her pathetic number, but quickly decides she doesn't really care.

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"Whoever said anything about a relationship? And who said you can't do both? Exotic new locations only add to the experience."
He checks a watch he may or may not have had before.
"Class is going to start again before too long. What do you have next?"
He looks up to the artificial sky.
"End simulation."

Female Human (three-tailed)

"Beucase, quite simply, that's something to be reserved for someone you trust. Uh..."
she starts fishing around for her schedule.

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"I dissagree, but understand and respect your view point."
He states simply, trying to illicit a laugh.
He draws the wallet thing and removes a book from it with a puff of smoke.
"I've got Dance that I missed first block, botany, and music, then lunch, then nature magic, transmution, and advanced illusions."

Female Human (three-tailed)

Florence doesn't laugh, taking that at face value.
"Isn't PE required?"

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"An active class is required. Frankly I could teach dance class, but I prefer that to working out and running laps."

Female Human (three-tailed)

"I see. Alright then."

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

He stows the book back in his wallet.
"What've you got?"

Female Human (three-tailed)

"Basic arcana, alchemy, PE, care of magical animals, heavy blades, and history."

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"Guess we don't have any common classes, then. Oh well."
He shrugs.
"You're kinda the first person I've gotten to talk to here. Maybe if you're ever gonna go somewhere over a weekend maybe, I could tag along?"

This boy matched the description of someone who had been mentioned in those reports. "Why do you not stay in the school?"

He looks puzzled at the question, but answers it.

"I've been in to assist when needed, I don't mind helping...but...I am uncomfortable in enclosed spaces with others around...I tend to make people feel uneasy around me, though it's not intentional. He sighs. "It's a long story, Gyna'ka."

That word I just made up is an honorific in Sphynx for a female elder, mother, or grandmother or other respected female member of the clan/tribe/enclave.

Ryleh folded her hands inside her sleeves, her expression unreadable, her demeanor calm. "I am good at listening to long stories, young man. Tell me."

Opens the door to his dojo/classroom when they arrive, beckoning those that followed in. It very much looks like an old dojo, with a main mat in the middle of the room, surrounded by other mats to sit on, all resting on finely polished cherry wood floors. On this side of the door, it looks like rice paper doors and lamps, although you can tell that while they shed light, there's no fire in the lamps. Weapons adorn one wall, while practice armor is on racks along another. This room has a definite calming flow to it...

"Please, come in..."

Nala enjoyed this room. It reminded her of the meditation classroom in many ways, but more importantly, it was Ryuzo's, and that brought a feeling of safety. And anxiety, a little bit, but mostly safety.

She waited for the others to get settled before she began talking.

Raelle smiled in spite of herself. She forgot sometimes just how much of a celebrity Fi was. "Yeah, of course I know them. Like I said, it's my older sister's band. Fieri is the lead singer. I'm sure we can find some crystals for you if you want to listen to her music. She always has extras."

Even with the din of the cafeteria being what it is, this does not appear to pull Anahita out of her silent ...sitting there, eyes closed, listening to things that no one else hears.

Her expression though, is one of peace-- not contemplation. Her breathing even, relaxed. It hadn't been too long yet, though it could be thought that she'd doused off, seated there.

What was left of her early started lunch remained, nearly complete in front of her.

Disrupting Anahita's tranquil contemplation is none other than the halfling from this morning's conjuration class, landing heavily (for a halfling) in the seat next to Anahita and clumisly enough that she jostles the Keleshite somewhat roughly.

"BOOM! 'Sup Ana?!" Illithia says loudly, her marked skin flickering to a playful violet colour, a big grin on her face. Her silent companion - Marsalli - is nowhere to be seen.

Strangely, both symptoms seemed to have stopped worsening on their way to the dojo, but Ehos was still concerned. Nala was a member of the infirmary staff... but she didn't exaclty seem like she was thinking clearly at that very moment.

Still, it was just pain and blood. While their were pleasant, Ehos had been a soldier for a few years. He would survive. The wards would kick in if anything really serious was happening.

If ardente is still in the room Arthur looks at him and mumbles out "sorry" before scoffing at her final statement but grinning nonetheless.

Ardiente follows Aananda's gaze as it trails over to the sheet with the unfamiliar elf standing next to it. The sheet was covering a body. He feels ice in his stomach - twisting and burning and freezing his insides - as he instantly makes the connection.

Ardiente blinks at the rapidfire exchange between Melody and Arthur, looking back and forth between the pair before shaking his head. He waves off Arthur's apology, and says quietly. "I... I don't think we should bring Raelle here." There's a pointed glance at the covered body. Raelle had already lost too many people. He couldn't add her sister to that burden.

Ace scoops up Squeaky, and follows the girls into his room, shutting the door behind him. As he's got a single, Ace's room is rather large, with a decent open area he's set aside for his morning workout. His bed is nice and big, and definitely comfy looking. There's also several chairs which he offers to Ty and Jai.

He jumps right in, not wanting to waste time. "Kitty was brutally murdered, along with all her animals, save my lil guy here, who hid behind some bags of food. She's been since brought back to life. For awhile, I was a suspect, but no longer. Just a little while ago, Ginni was also murdered, and while she too has come back to life, her mind is a shattered, fractured mess. Our last conversation was actually a stupid argument cuz I picked a fight with David, trying to blow off some steam. She walked off, and then wound up dead." He finally lets the truth of the situation hit him, and starts to cry "Its all my fault, we always have breakfast together, I should have been there to protect her!"

Tyrrin reeled for a moment, thankful that Ace had offered a seat before dumping this load of information on her.

"Ms. Tanaka... and Ginni?" Tyrrin repeated, giving herself time to process what Ace had said. The cold fury she had felt last night when they had captured the assassin bubbled back up again, and her eyes flashed dangerously.

Jaiye can practically smell the anger bleeding off Tyrrin, though none of it reaches any part of her face except her eyes. Her posture is rigid though.

"Ace." Tyrrin replies with a sharp, steely tone in her voice, trying to snap her friend out of his self-pity. "This was not your fault, unless it was your hand that dealt the blow. You will stop assigning blame to yourself right now." her tone brooks no argument. "Assuming you always have to be there to protect or save Ginni is demeaning to her own ability. There's no guarantee your presence would have made a difference other than adding to the body count."

After a moment, her tone and expression soften slightly, but Jaiye can still easily tell that Tyrrin is very upset. "Now, what did the healers say about Ginni? Can they heal her mind?"

He sits up straighter and his eyes focus "Thanks Tyrrin, I really needed that. I believe Phaez is attending to Ginni, and I'm sure he can fix her, at least I hope he can. I offered to lend some assistance, but he apparently has it covered. Arthur types three more keys before stopping and turning to face ardente his voice starts out calm but firm but rather quickly becomes more emotional "don't give me any of that time wasting crap, were you not listening when I mentioned that the fate of the universe, and another parallel one besides would be in jeopardy. If we fail, you, raelle and everyone you have ever known or will know and countless more besides will cease to exist, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say they will never have existed in the first place. If you've gone through that enough that you can be blasè about it then whoop de f&$&ing do, I'm still on my first here, so it's kind of a big deal to me, but if you are going to actively get in my way like this then get out, right now"
if ardente explains that the two know each other then Arthur will just suggest that via be moved, it's a rather simple fix

Mel stopped what she was doing rather abruptly. she was not looking at Arthur but she heard him. and that was enough.

She takes a few deep breaths, looking for the right thing to say, the right expression to relieve the tension. but nothing was coming to mind.

was this his dark side? she thought, finally. without even looking at Arthur, she goes to ardente, come on over here with me, I need your help with something. and yes, you are right, I don't think Raelle needs to be here. Mel takes ardente by the arm and gently guides him to a workstation with several metallic samples on it.

i need you to find the melting point of each of these materials. hoping to make use of his Firebird heritage.

"Enough, all three of you!" she snapped. "Melody, focus on your work. Ardiente, if she can help then bring Raelle here. Or don't. But stop distracting Melody and Arthur. If it helps give you any perspective on the situation, Vai's spirit has already agreed to return, but we can't bring her back until this breach is sealed because her counterpart's presence in this universe is part of what destabilized it in the first place. It's the same reason why Ephebe can't get within a several mile radius of the breach at present either. Now please, we all need to focus on what we're doing so that we can get the equipment built, preferably such that Melody actually survives the implementation."

Stops and considers what she's just said. "If Ephebe is part of the problem, what are the chances that her children are contributing to the destabilization? Should we be making arrangements to move the eggs temporarily?"

We all develop it at a certain age, which varies according to type of dragon, and must use training and discipline to learn to contain it. One cannot suppress such a thing. If you could learn to do the same, then you could more easily move among other people."
