This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Serrin glowers at Etain, overhearing the fool gush at the Svarog girls. "What the hells? I'm at least as good looking as they are. Just cuz I have a funky hair color, and I'm paler than they are, they get all attention?"

With that, she lashes out with her whip, coiling it around his ankle. A swift tug later, and he's flat on his face.

If that's cool with you Lyn

"Oof," Etain grunted as he was knocked on his face, quickly rolling and getting back on his feet, an expression of annoyance just as quickly replaced with a charming smile. "Please pardon my clumsiness, ladies. I was so entranced by your beauty that I wasn't watching where I was going," he said with a surreptitious glare at Serrin.

"That is a very good idea. If you can find a way to talk to him, then we might be able to find out what needs to be done in order to free him from that cage. I think that once he's out of that, then it will be easier for he and I to communicate...maybe that will result in less rampaging. I hope."

"Thanks, Vare! I would really appreciate it!"

Iolth whistles as Kaetar manifests beside Iolth. Teasingly, she says "Hope you haven't destroyed anything yet!" Giving Iolth a quick peck on the cheek, the empyreal deck turns to Vare. "Nice to meet you, Vare. My charge-who is also my boyfriend-as he already told you, is like a Delayed Fireball-it's only a matter of time before he explodes, and when he explodes, Iolth has a tendency to explode very impressively."

** spoiler omitted **

"Anyways," Kaetar continues, "Do you have any teaching spots open? I could teach Advanced Planar Theory and Advanced Outsiders, if you have those spots open. I'm older than I appear." Kaetar chuckles.

Heh... Vare can't make that Sense Motive ;P

Vare's gaze shifts to the now-manifested Angel. Again, his eyes do not seem to see her truly, and they look seemingly over and through her in a way that might be considered lecherous, though only if one was overly sensitive to such things. "He does have a rather chaotic energy. Perhaps, with time, he'll come to control it. In the meantime, as long as he's within the school walls the Wards will protect those within from any overly dangerous mishaps." Vare replies calmly, as if Decks of cards turning into Angels was a completely normal occurrence that didn't even warrant a blink..

"Both of those subjects will be touched upon during the course of my Conjuration classes, though if you wish to speak with the Headmaster about a more specialized course, I'm sure he would not object. Though, I might warn you that there is some... friction, to overcome if one side of a relationship is a teacher and the other a student."

With a quick, Arcane word and casting motion, Vare completes a spell, and once again the arrows seem to conjure forth. He speaks to the air, an invisible creature perhaps. "Guide us to the Headmaster's office."

The spell was Unseen Servant, since the Spellcraft to recognize it should be extremely easy.

Archena had been looking around as much as Ulna has, probably straying towards the same things, and idly chit chatting with her about them.
When Serrin pulls the same thing on the dude that she did with her, she turns around and faces her, walking backwards.
"Do you ever think that maybe no one talks to you because you do things like this? We've both got it bad. Both of us are obviously different."
She raises her clawed hands and sparsely feathered forearms.
"But it doesn't matter what we look like. It matters how we act and how we treat people. And if you keep tripping people you don't like, no one is going to start liking you. Now. I want to like you. I want you to like me. Can you just try to be OK and not use being different as an excuse to be bitter? Can we just put this behind us and move on. Maybe be friends?"

"Sensates are practitioners of a belief system who hold that accumulating experiential knowledge through their senses is the only true path to enlightenment," he continues. "My understanding is that they were planar wanderers, but that their order was dissolved or destroyed a long time ago."

Taking a card from Kaetar's deck, it quickly transforms into a massive book called: Manual of the Planes Volume IV: Abbadon. Opening up to the section about the absolute rulers of the plane, the Four Horsemen, Iolth notices a sidebar that wasn't there before: The Oinodaemon.

"Little is know about the Oinodaemon. Theoretically a deific daemon, the being was exorcised from the multiverse into an unknown prison." Upon reading the word Oinodaemon, the word resonates in his head, gradually echoing and growing louder, before something shuts it down.

"Strange," is all Iolth says before he continues reading his book.

Tall, Thin Firebird

With a mixture of bemusement and disgust, the tall, thin Firebird from very early on, watches at the interaction of the other Firebirds.

While he clear didn't seem to be giving anything attention, putting it all beneath him, the recent actions of the Svarog ilk, brings more of a smirk to his hawkish features.

Looking back at Sorchan Del Sol, he asks, "Surely the heirs of their respective Houses," motioning to assemble Del Sol and the rest of the assembled Firebirds, "assuming such a role is one they still embrace per our society's time honored customs..." pausing for a moment to consider his words. He continues briefly after, "Or at the very minimum as a statement of their own individual honor and pride, do not allow or turn a blind eye to such wanton ... nay, flagrant, indignities occuring to the guests of this prestigious establishment."

He then looks straight at Sorchan, "Or-- is it the lack of respect, traditions, decency, control even, that allows such to happen? I can understand ignoring the abuse of bonded guardsmen, if they are even that now, given their clear intentions to break away from such, but ..."

The tall, thin fellow seems to be seeking to engage Sorchan in his question, for what reason, not immediately clear. The questions, however, could apply to anyone who considers themselves an 'heir', obviously.

Image

Sorchan outright laughs. "Have you spent much time around the noble Houses, young sir? Cutthroat does not even begin to describe it. One must be strong enough to stand up for oneself."

"Setting that aside, there are wards here that prevent intentionally causing physical harm to another student or staff member. It was a prank, intended to cause embarrassment, not harm. Else she would currently be enjoying a tour of the detention room. Those guardsmen are equally free to respond in kind at some future date. If we spent our time policing such small things we'd never have time to teach classes."

His tone became considerably more serious and the smile faded from his eyes. "As for your comments on tradition...if you don't know by now, I am not a traditionalist. No doubt history will condemn me for my role in the decision to destroy our ancestral home, but I welcome the condemnation if that means that our people are still alive to deliver it. A few days ago we were on the brink of a civil war that threatened to wipe us out entirely. Now we are not. I have spent most of my life on the wrong side of tradition, and I will not be shackled by it any longer. My fondest hope is that all of you will live free to make your own decisions, informed by tradition but not chained to it."

At first, there's a smile-- Clearly the tall, thin fellow took praise at what Sorchan says.

He listens to the defense bits, and wards, nodding once. Apparently he does listen well, the snobby look fading for a few moments on his handsome features.

Once Sorchan gets into speaking on his view of traditions, the tall, thin fellow, listens attentively and falls quiet, seeming to consider what Sorchan states.

"I guess it was rude to blow up your office before I've even enrolled. Feel free to give me detention once I've officially enrolled. As you can see, I have some difficulty controlling my powers. I can generally only use them through my foci-my decks-without something unexpected happening. And even then, I can lose control in a big way. I black out, and a city's in ruins. I have to generally port to a different planet and/or dimension too keep from an order of paladins from getting on my back. I would say I'd give you a demonstration, but that's already done."

But in the meantime, you are going to need to hurry as well or you'll be late to your first class."

She helped him gather his papers and kissed him passionately before effectively shooing him out the door.

"You are, and you will continue to do so....and this is good," Fei replies with a warm smile.

"Perhaps," he muses, filing that information away for later as they sit at the empty table.

"Sensates are practitioners of a belief system who hold that accumulating experiential knowledge through their senses is the only true path to enlightenment," he continues. "My understanding is that they were planar wanderers, but that their order was dissolved or destroyed a long time ago."

The young monk shrugs as food starts being dismembered and devoured at speed.

"But that is only a supposition on my part. It probably would be best to ask her rather than to make assumptions though." (^-^)

"Well, -smack- she was friends with the -mph- Conjuration teacher. Maybe she /is/ -nom- a planar wanderer." Vai replies, obviously paying no attention to decorum at the moment as she devours her plates at a record rate all the while trying to keep the conversation going - conscious that classes will start soon. Dragons care not if their motuh is full when speaking! "But -chomp-, you're right, we shouldn't -crunch- just assume things."

"Does it still count as flattery if it's the truth?" Ardiente retorts smilingly, his arm going around her as she leans in to kiss his cheek.

"Do you mind if I ask what happen between you and Sadie? Don't answer if you don't want to.. but I'm still pretty new to this whole... relationship thing, and any insight is appreciated." Ardiente asks, his tone diplomatic but he's obviously a bit nervous and hesitant while broaching such a sensitive topic.

Morrivan sighed and started nervously twirling her hair. "No, it's...it's kinda stupid. But I guess I have to tell someone sometime. When I found out that night about...about Rodhas and Joneh....I was devastated. I think it was Ginni who brought me to Sadie, but honestly everything was kind of blurry then, so maybe it wasn't. And she had this frozen panicked look when she saw how upset I was. But, to give credit where it's due, she tried. I stayed in her room that night, but it wasn't at all romantic. I just happened to collapse there. And then in the morning...In the morning Vai came asking Sadie to help her with some important mission, and Sadie agreed without so much as a second thought. I don't know if it was because she was relieved to get away or because she's still kinda hung up on Vai. Probably both. I was mad because she didn't even consider how I might feel about it at all, and...we got into a fight and broke up. I...I just can't be the only one who cares about our relationship...and now we don't have one. So...yeah...told you it was stupid."

"Mm-Mmmph," she said, shaking her head, and blushing bright red.
Resisting the urge to simply keep laughing at the poor girl's unfortunate state, Ehos instead keeps his joy restricted to a small, poorly hidden smirk. 'Just lean forward and spit it out onto your plate. I'm pretty sure nobody at this table will care. Wouldn't suggest doing that in front of everybody though. People can be sensitive.'

Asha nodded and, trying to hide her action with her hands so others wouldn't have to see, spits some of her food out until she can manage chewing and swallowing the rest.

"Uh..thanks," she said sheepishly. "I've never been allowed so much food before...I didn't realize the dangers I guess," she added with a little self-deprecating laugh.

Iolth suddenly appears in two different places: one in his chair, calmly reading, the other three feet in the air, looking like a cat that just got stepped on. The one on the chair dissappears, and the real Iolth lands back on the chair. "Oh, hello. Sorry about the protoplasm. When I get bored, I like to explore my abilities a bit-which is stupid. Dangerously stupid. That little stunt with the proto-matter was just me seeing what kind of power I could conjure without my foci. I've tried it a few times before, it always ended in the same way." Iolth shrugs and smiles sheepishly at the headmaster.

One of Iolth's decks swirls out of its holder, and turns into a beautiful female celestial. "Hello, I'm Kaetar, a celestial spirit and guardian to Iolth here. I'm interested in taking a teaching position here, most likely Advanced Planar Theory and Advanced Outsiders."

"One, the number of explosions, earthquakes, fires, demonic invasions, riots, techno-zombie attacks, and Hunters this school has dealt with pretty much makes it impervious to a little proto-matter explosion. Two, we encourage safe exploration of a students abilities and control. You'll have plenty of opportunity for that later. Three, as long as you do not deliberately harm a fellow student, detention for seeing what you can do is pretty uncommon."

"Hello, Miss Kaetar. I will need proof that you are well versed in the subject. Then there is the matter of a teacher dating a student, which is not exactly encouraged here."

Hey MEL and TYBS

Vickory begins to realize that Tybs isn't physically hurt, at least not anymore ('does the room itself accelerate healing?'), she lacks experience in the drama though, dead friends being the only real emotional issue she dealt with or helped others deal with, not that dead were unexpected however, so not the same.

Vickory moves forward a little, "Can I help in some way?"

trying to catch up on lots of stuff here so will try but will take time

Mel and tybs are in an isolated / insulated room due to the extreme cold tybs is generating. this room is preventing the entire infirmary from becoming sub zero temperatures. Nurse Julie was watching from outside the room through an insulated window.

Nurse Julie looks to vickory, There is no physical harm to either one right now, but if the temperature drops much more Mel will start to be effected. I am actually surprised she isn't complete frozen right now.

Julie smiles Do you know them? If you can withstand the cold I can let you in. they are not quarantined or anything.
