Vai Sunwake |
Without much fanfare or flash, Tryko'Sam grins and there is a tropical storm falling down on Vai now, covering her completely and making for a fairly quick clean up.
Apparently not too concerned with the rain run off, since the sewers were right there, Tryko'Sam chuckles though.
"Well, the three of us make for a decent team-- maybe we can practice responding to issues in the future, get a few more folks involved, keep at it? Probably wouldn't hurt too much to have that work out, right?"
Looking over at Rena, then back again, "That's assuming people are interested... but, let's try to keep things on the quiet side for now. No point in bursting out too soon... or whatever the expression is."
Another grin, and a bit of time, the rains stop since it's not falling down from the middle of no where anymore.
"Crazy magic s*~&... heh."
Vai tilts her head up into the rainstorm, obviously enjoying the feeling of being cleansed by the deluge of rain, her scales shimmering in the clash of sun and rain. A rainbow is seen briefly about her, and her smile curves even more as the rainbow seems to brighten and sharpen slightly. A beautiful sight now doubt, though gone when Tryko'Sam snaps the water off. Vai shakes any excess off like a dog, spraying water about. "Yeah, I think my boy--" Vai stops midsentance as...
She pressed a button on her headband. "Vai? Is everything alright?"
"Oop, there's my Mom now, one sec." she closes her eyes and focuses. If Tryko'Sam or Rena are paying much attention, they might see the necklace about her draconic neck glow ever so slightly.
::Mom? There was something of situation. A hostile machine was sending coded transmissions somewhere. It's dead now, but the metal is strange. It broke into a bunch of little bits that I lost, but I also didn't see any more transmissions in Kuros. I'm gonna bring this back for analysis alright? Are you in your lab?::
Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |
Carl pulls out a pot of dwarf Coffee, just hit hot wile the sat and looked on as the ship got closer, its the constancy of tar and just as bad smelling.
"Ya want some, best thing after a cyro-sleep"
Carl fills a mug and then downs it in one, he closes his eyes tight and banks hes feed on the floor, in a husky voice he says.
"Gooood sttuuff"
he gets up,
"Agreed, ye be doin the talkin, Ill just get me sen worked up"
Arthur Barren |
i take it dwarf coffee is espicially strong and bitter? arthur takes some of the coffee and drinks some, grimicing "are you sure this is not the grease trap from the engine room, even with the nanites filtering out any poison in me, im almost worried what this does to the body" you can tell that he is at least 50% joking
edithe sends back to hermes
Lewis the Jabberwock |
Lewis follows the others. He knows he couldn't solve this on his own.
Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |
"Aye could be some init, I've nee cleaned the pot for a wee wile"
Carl smiles going along with the joke.
"here tin-man, ye wont-some" offers his mug to Hermes
Imperial Chronicler |
"Ya right there lad, messes with me guts sum-ert cronic it dos, but it dos the job, and we may not need to contact the planet, there is a bloody big warship* off our port, some 2000km and shes coming in fast. I'm sending radio and other saying, we're civilian"
Carl flicks a switch,
"Right lets hope they don't shot us out the void"
Carl gets into his pilot saint, and props hit short leg on the flight deck, wile looking at a screen that comes on showing the ship* saying into a mik.
"This is civilian scout craft 'The Hammer-shaft', from the Dwarf-en mining Clan, Promethium, don't shoot where here a viziting not a waring"
While Carl, Arthur and Hermes debate the merits/toxicity of dwarven coffee and wait for some kind of reply from the other ship (a similarly-sized scout/frigate class, according to the sensors), they begin to realize that the stars outside the viewing ports are beginning to...disappear.
Suddenly, the ship's comm crackles to life as a lilting woman's voice (elven, most likely) addresses them:
"Even if you were just visiting, you would already be nothing more than a smear of subatomic particles drifting through the void," the woman says mellifluously - which makes the threat behind her words all the more creepy.
"But today is the luckiest day of your lives - you were actually invited here. You are cleared to land, Hammer-Shaft, and should be receiving your reentry course and landing coordinates...now. I suggest you do not deviate from them. Welcome to the Agartha system."
The comm goes dead, and one by one the stars begin to reappear in your field of view. While the sensors still register another scout-class ship out there, what actually passes overhead is many, many orders of magnitude...bigger.
The aforementioned course and coordinates have been received and are ready for use.
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
Breathing a sigh of relief, Vai swoops back towards her meetup with Tryko'Sam and Rena, a bit lower to the ground this time, still fifty feet above the buildings. She spots Fei's distinct emerald green outfit and smiles and waves at him... he was talking with Keme and... someone else? Weird. Still.
The outfit was not emerald green anymore (more of a sickly, drab olive), but Vai's keen eyes spotted it anyway in one of the town squares. At her shadow passes over, Fei looks up, waving back with a smile.
Pleased that Keme now had someone more...affable...to help deal with his boredom, the young monk remains silent, his unanswered question a moot point now anyway. He quietly sits on a piece of rubble and takes stock of the scene around him. In spite of all of their help, it was still a disaster...
Taron Sunwake |
"Fly-Free? Huh? I've heard about your band, you were great. You and Fain." Dom pauses once Mel makes her way over. "I think we heard about your performances on the road actually. Word of good music travels fairly well, especially when you listen for it." He glances to the stage before continuing. "Why don't you give us a taste of what you used to play?"
[I]He thinks about it for a moment, then nods and goes on the stage to do some preperation. He double-checks everything and then starts to play.
Tryko'Sam |
Nodding an affirmative, Tryko'Sam stand idly by while the other conversation concludes.
He doesn't seem to react to the interruption, or the indication of a boy friend (nearly, that is).
Closing his eyes for a few, he seemed to be concentrating on nothing in particular, standing there with arms folded on his chest, lost in thought.
It might appear he dozed off, but, in truth, he was just standing there waiting calmly, wet.
"Maybe a quick dash to school-- I knew I needed more outfits. I have a sense this happens a lot."
Casseus Rex |
Casseus Rex wrote:"Hmm, I bet they do. I have a game I play with some vrock buddies I summon up about once a month. You're welcome to join if you want. Cigar?" He says, opening the box and taking one out for himself."No, thanks. I like my lungs. And given the amount of time I spend running madly away from things trying to kill me, I need them to be in good condition."
"So when's the next game?"
"Meh. Never noticed no harm being caused. You're not supposed to inhale them...course then again, I don't need to use my lungs much, other than to talk."
"We had a game last weekend outside of school grounds. Headmaster has a no-smoking policy. So, in a few weeks we'll have another."
He gestures over to Fei.
"He don't talk much."
High Seer Denulia |
Phaezeriel turns slightly towards the High Seeress, ::I am not much of a hunter, but I agree that we do need some way to flush her out. If we can keep her from using dimensional abilities, then we are much more likely to achieve some kind of resolution. Many of my kind and their servants can use teleportation or plane shifting magic innately. If we could request some kind of nanite tracking device from the tech department here, then once her dimensional abilities are inhibited, it will be much easier to track her regardless of her shape. I do not know what her goals are, so I do not know how to flush her out. However, Ace, the student who was helping us to speak with the corpse of the tailor, has said that tonight he will do some divination, and I will guide him to asking how we can flush her out.::
"I suspect, if scrying failed, then any attempts to divine her directly will fail. Still, you may learn some things." Denulia says with a raised eyebrow. Her gaze while looking at Phaezeriel is quite piercing, but there is no threat in it. Merely the feeling that the High Seer in peering directly into your soul. It is slightly unsettling.
"You also need to hide yourselves from detection. Phaezeriel, are you able to manifest a power which will Bar your minds? You are a telepath, yes? If this woman or her allies are as powerful as you suspect, then you must hide yourselves from magic. In fact..." Denulia trails off slightly and then there's a sharp flare of light from her eyes.
The High Seer is manifesting Detect Remote Viewing, which will detect any scrying or other magical sensors withing a 40ft radius of her. If there is one, there's an opposed caster level check involved as well. Let me know Dami.
Rena, the Companion |

"Maybe a quick dash to school-- I knew I needed more outfits. I have a sense this happens a lot."
While Vai is engaged in her communication, Rena leans in close to her companion in Tryko'Sam and whispers quietly "What does she mean by 'get a room'? I've never heard that expression before." Clearly, there's some gaps in Rena's social knowledge, and when she's not being lackadaisical, she's quite curious to learn.
GM Fireclaw |
Kindly take into account you are not only inside Avalon, but the Headmaster's office as well. EDIT: to expand a bit, I know I've stated before that only another High Seer could scry into the school.
Or another similarily epic power. We have no idea what Dami's NPC is after all. Kara could even /be/ a High Seer. Only 3 of 7 have been claimed after all ;D
Phaezeriel |
Phaezeriel is always under the effect of a remote view trap as well as a personal barred mind.
::I agree that attempting to gather direct information about her is unlikely to succeed, however we may find some kind of guidance as to what will draw her out. Also, I would advise against anyone trying to scry directly on myself; even if it succeeds, which is very unlikely, I will immediately know about it and it will be very uncomfortable to the one doing the scrying. I can extend that protection to the others involved, though my psychic reserves are getting fairly low today.::

Unless completely mistaken-- you should be making a roll against Ryo's caster level (isn't he scrying all the time?), as well as against the Wards, which in essence, are scrying all the time as well. Maybe the nanites too, if those are in essence 'a scrying power or spell'? As far as any other scrying going on, nothing within 40 feet that I am attributing to any NPC I'm managing.
Tryko'Sam |
While Vai is engaged in her communication, Rena leans in close to her companion in Tryko'Sam and whispers quietly "What does she mean by 'get a room'? I've never heard that expression before." Clearly, there's some gaps in Rena's social knowledge, and when she's not being lackadaisical, she's quite curious to learn.
Whispering back, Tryko'Sam says quietly, "I think she was jokingly saying you and I are acting rather affectionate with one another and we should take our unbridled love and rut like animals in the privacy of a closed room, rather than display it in public. Something like that... unless I'm completely mistaken."
Phaezeriel |
The nanites, if they are considered to be a scrying effect, are constantly shorting out near Phaezeriel, which can inadvertently let people track him. I do not think that his remote view trap would affect the wards, but if Ryo is scrying him it will probably sting a little every time Ryo focuses on Phaezeriel, unless Ryo is immune to electricity damage.

I was just putting that out there-- I really don't know the mechanics behind some of the NPC stuff going on, but when you have psionics and magic working 24/7, things will head butt.
Tyrrin Denulia |
"Got it," he said moving forward and punching the wall so that it broke apart into icy shards that flew towards the remorhaz.
Not really sure how much damage that would do.
And then he leapt forward attempting to grapple the creature around its neck.
Tyrrin broke her concentration on the pattern spell, which causes the rainbow of light to fade from the field and instead takes up a ready position in case the grapple fails, moving forward to stand about twenty feet behind Jeran. Still well away from the combat, but close enough to help if needed.
Dom Waverider |
While the song is playing Dom grabs both Mel and Tami to dance. (If ether decline he will beckon them to join but won't push.) One can tell Dom is fairly used to dancing with multiple women, but his movements in this dance seemed differnt than when he danced with Tami alone. These movements are less seductive and just more fun.
After Taron finishes the song he begins to clap for Taron. "That was great. I can tell why we heard so much about you. You and your band should think about getting back together and performing again."
Rena, the Companion |

Rena seems to glance oddly at the dragon girl, a strange expression on the unreadable face of the creature of the Dream. Still more whispering. "I... don't even have organs for that kinda thing. I've never understood why people are so fascinated with it anyway. Even Vare seems to have those kind of desires."

All the manifester level check would do is give me a visual and a direction/distance, so I don't think I need to do so against Ryo. ;D Clarisentience is divination, not necessarily all scrying powers. They might headbutt slightly, but I think it's fine to handwave that for now.
"And mine as well. It is not a simple task to scry the Imperial Fleet without being detected. Still, there are other things than scrying which you need to protect yourselves from, and that is my main point."
Phaezeriel |
Phaezeriel smiles slightly, ::It is not just scrying that I protect myself from. I have been hunted by the forces of the Abyss for over 150 years. I shield myself from any divinatory magic every morning. That is why I said that it is unlikely that scrying me would even work. What beside diviniations do you think we need to defend against?::

"I don't think that will be possible... our former bandmate is rather PO'd with Kam and myself."
Tybalt Baneko |
Yessum. Although if it's the cold damage your worried about that was one of the things I removed to buff it down for being able to use it whenever.
Usual=Standard action to summon+1d6 cold when passed through
Mine=Full round action to summon no damage passing through.
As the shards wouldn't do anything in a rules setting I'm just going to dismiss it as he passes through.
:)
Dom Waverider |
"I don't think that will be possible... our former bandmate is rather PO'd with Kam and myself."
Slowly Dom slides his fingers through his hair. "I guess your band wasn't as legendary as I have heard then." Dom knows there's more to it, but it seemed to him that this group needs something to kick them in gear. The rest of your band. Were they not some of the closest friends you ever had. If they were then why are you not trying to fix these problems? Sorry to sound preachy I just have noticed the better bands are like families."
Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |
Carl after the shock of the other ships communication, Carl punches the "go" panel and the "Hammer-Shaft" starts its flight down to the planet as indicated, with verification its with in a nats-nacker of an inch true on its path down.
"scout ship my hairy Dwarf backside" he mutters "did ya nee see them stars wink out, dat ships big I tells ye lad-e, I no like to get on the wrong side of that, and what that soft as muck Elf mean 'Invited' No one bloody 'Invited' me here, not that I know of, ack! well"
The "Hammer-Shaft" drops down the gravity, now on screen can be seen below the academy, its grounds around a manner house. [X-men like I take it, do they have an under ground hanger for ships or a space port?] The "Hammer-Shaft" engines give off a very loud and deep throbbing sound that travels for some miles. Then as it comes int land, Legs extend and with a "Thunk" sound the scout ship brings its huge mass to rest on the ground, a ramp then extends, allowing its occupants off the ship.
Carl go's over the power down Sequence, placing his arms on the flight panel, the braces on his arms light up for a moment then like the ship go dead.
"Well, where here, lets go have a look see, I've opened the cargo bay door, so if ya need to get ya ship out ya can Arthur"
[if you need to do any thing on ship just say]
Carl takes nothing with him but his clothing, his ship control braes and some cash and heads for the exit ramp.
"I hope they have an ale house"

The young monk snaps out of his somewhat glum reverie and looks over, then bows apologetically.
"I did not wish to interrupt your conversation. I apologize if I have given any unintentional offense, however," he replies with a second bow and a small smile.
Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |
Carl follows the two as the head off.
"arr I see Lad-e, well I best follow thee then, lead on"
Carl "Ironfist" Promethium |
Carl looks at Arthur for a moment,
"yes I can, but ya see, one way is slow, and other is fast but dangerous, I think we best go slow and safe for now"
Carl then takes his massive weight into the air.

"Not a problem little one. I will see you at the school." Vare said with a smile from where he had been standing quietly since introducing the Headmistress.
Once they are back in the hovercar, Vare muses aloud with his hand on his chin, once again thoughtful. "That girl must have a startling imagination. She would have a particular talent for conjuration magic."
"Which is why I'm glad she's enrolling in school now. Hopefully by the time she's old enough to be interested in the stupid stuff she'll know enough to not to, or at least enough to not get killed. The conjuration students have a problem with that."
