The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

By me, ya, but Kevin literally just met you.
Right now you seem cool enough because you actually cared to hear about the stuff he does.
And you were the most ready to beat something up.
So as far as Kevin is concerned, you're tough and nice. Pretty smart, but not as much as him.
Kev doesn't care if anyone is smarter than him, though. That's not what he's about.
Just so long as you're not stupid, you're fine to him. XD

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

Ah cool, I like to hear these little insights into your character's thought process

No prob.

You also might want to mention that you know summoning circles.
Ironically, the summoner doesn't. :/

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Summoner doesn't need to.

It jus thinks things into showing up.

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

Why doesn't he? Dave just has lesser planar binding, magic circle against evil, and a pack of abjurant salt as insurance?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I think they get the cleric version, that summons and barters. I think.

Kevin isn't a "Summoner" so much as that's just the closest thing to his abilities I could find.
He doesn't summon so much as he replicates things. He doesn't have an eidolon, he is the eidolon, sort of. There is no eidolon.
Long story short, there's no summoning going on.
Instead of sorcerer, his dragon spells are summoner spells.
Other than the few summoning spells he has, everything else is replication from his blue stuff.
His summoner spells are on his profile, but it's a d%'s chance that he can use much more than first or second level of them.

It occurs to me that if it jumped out of Tryko'Sam's skin, would it still have the jacket?

You should know that having it or not having it both have benefits for me.

Silinrul wrote:

Hey Dami, can you clear something up for me?

When this whole thing started with Skelly'Sam, you made it seem like the skeleton of 'Sam tore itself out his body, becoming a separate entity, and that attacked the Chosen One.

But in the resolution post, it sounds like it was 'Sam himself we went after(piloted by some fiendish thingy) and thus 'Sam was Dismissed and thus still in need of rescuing.

Due to the nature of Tryko'Sam, and hopefully this answers the other posts speculating on cutting him down the middle like some high school experimental worm, the moment his possessed bones tore through the skin to get at the girl, his skin and remaining 'parts', go into that swiftly dissolving/vanishing process. So, the bones reformed with skin/muscles, and regrew into Tryko'Sam again, who once more upon becoming alive, seemingly 'died', and lost control of his body once more.

Due to the nature of this possession, it's just one being at the moment, unless specifics are employed. A reminder, while it is a 'possession' this should seem way out there, and extremely uncommon (for the most part).

And just to repeat-- there's no duplication like Lobo does, from blood drops, it's just and always, one, singular, unique, Tryko'Sam.

The jacket would be on the ground at this point, clean, as it was once removed from Kevin's form to use earlier. No bloodstains or what not.

Male Shaman(Nature) 6/Green Faith Acolyte 10/Ranger(Spell-Less) 16(Gestalt)

Ok, thanks for clearing that up Dami. It was mostly confusion on my part, nothing you did or did not do or say.

Just wanted to make sure I understood just what took place.

Any time.

Sometimes I feel I am writing too much and have been told there's too many words, but, typically, I tend to not write enough in the end.

My urge is to often write MORE, but have been told not too, too often. I mean, I can easily go into crazy details if desired. I've actually held back a ton.

Falling asleep on computer. Rest of posts will have to wait.

This exercise thing is overrated. Healthy hurts. >.<

And now back to posting before I run out of steam again. :)

Reminder: Please, for the love of whatever you find holy, do not use dice= in your posts! It creates a complete mess of any post that uses reply to your original post (a necessity in a game where multiple storylines are happening simultaneously) and sorting that out in the edits is a bear. Be kind to your fellow players and don't, thank you.

Sorry about that, I forgot.

Yeeesh.

I'm panicking right now. Tomorrow, I'm about to GM my first game ever-Doctor Who: Adventures of Time and Space-with an adventure of my own design.

I'm nineteen pages into it, and although the rest of my players have never played a TRPG before, and probably won't get very far, I'm still panicking.

What's the alternative?

I may be guilty of this without realizing after further consideration.

Just [dice] and not [dice=bla].

Just remember, if at any time you feel nervous and uncomfortable, you can just tell your players that. Tell them you need a moment or a break to compose yourself. You're already a badass for hosting a game.

If they're worth anything, they will be patient and they will forgive you.

I'm totally with you on this. I started tegularily going to the gym back in September and damn it sucked for the first while. It does get better though.

I'm down about 10kg since then :)

Stick with it Lyn!

Good for you and glad that it's working well for you with the whole gym thing. :)

I keep telling myself it will stop hurting so damn bad in a couple weeks. In the meantime I keep up the zombie shuffle which is all my sore legs can handle. :P

At least I get a couple days off over the weekend. Hopefully that will let my muscles heal enough that I'm ready to get back to it on Monday.

Doomkitten, best of luck with the game and I hope it goes/went well.

The first time I GMd in real life I had panic attacks for like two days before. My players told me they couldn't even tell while I was running the game. Chances are your players will be easier on you than you are. :)

When I went to Orientation at amazon, they described it as "a gym that pays YOU"' and it was, I lost like two pounds a day for the first week, and continued to loose weight for the rest of my tenure there but not quite so fast.
@lyn: heh, that makes two of my favorite GMs that do that then.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

My first panic attack stared two weeks before I announced my first game.

Effectively, the Angels seem to be indicating that they won't stop someone from seizing/claiming her. They do not show possession or 'care' for her, only having affected the girl when she was quasi-unconscious, as it were. Kinda like if they'd found an object they felt or knew belonged to someone else. Waiting for the owner to claim it.

Been trying to convey that. Guess I get too subtle sometime... Though, I can suspect Jeran's attempting to make it her choice given the last post. True or no?

Yep, that's it exactly. He is really big on that whole free will thing, on account of having had it taken away from him in the past.

I'm not gonna say anything cliche'd like "you get addicted" or that crap, cause it just ain't true. It takes regular effort even now for me to actually get up and go to the gym.

Is it worth it? Yup!

You'll do great Lyn. <3

There was one morning after band camp that I actually had to take one of my costume/ decorative canes around the house for about half an hour.
Really wish I had time to go to the gym.
I weigh much more than I would like. :/

I know that feel. I worked out near obsessively when I was your age so I could keep up with all the dancing and crap from musical theater. And even then I always weighed more than I would have liked. Unfortunately fo me I have the natural build of a hobbit. :/

But at least I can be a healthier hobbit. :P

I always wanted to be tall and skinny like a Tim Burton protagonist, instead I'm 5'5 and 220+.
-_-

It isn't my fault pizza exists. >_<

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Heh. Wish I could blame pizza. I can gain weight on carrots and tofu. Heck, I gained weight on Weight Watchers. (And that's when I gave up on diets) >.<
But I did lose forty pounds last year. Bread was always my biggest weakness, so that wheat allergy had one positive effect at least. :)

Relevant.

<_<

God I love bread.

Gah, that was a great movie...

♣♠Magic♦♥ wrote:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Scott Pilgrim is one of my favourite movies of all time.

Of course, my favourite Disney movie of all time is Tangled (instead of say, the Lion King or Aladdin), so take that as you will. ;P

Disney-Disney, or owned by Disney? Because if your favorite Owned-by-Disney movie isn't Nightmare Before Christmas or Guardians of the Galaxy, then you're wrong. :P
Sorcerer's Apprentice is also a viable option.

My favorite Disney-Disney, like has to have a Princess, is probably Mulan.

Never went to see Guardians and honestly... Tim Burton kinda bores me.

:P

I do agree with Mulan though. That's up there too.

Mulan was really the first princess with a spine.
Merida, Elsa, and Rapunzel kind of fall behind her.

♣♠Magic♦♥ wrote:

Of course, Mulan wasn't a princess. >_>

First princess with a spine was Nala, tyvm. ;)

Also, as great as Brave was, I kinda felt it was Brother Bear: Scotland Edition.

She married into it. :P

I wouldn't have liked Brave, but the great inclusion of real Scottish culture saved it along with some of the funnier moments.
Merida doesn't break my top ten princesses. :/

My favourite part of Brave was the music, to be completely honest. Mumford & Sons are probably my favourite band at the moment, and then Touch the Sky and a few of the other tracks were just fabulous. Of course, I'm a big fan of celtic music in general.

Celtic music is the beeeeeeeest.
Gotta love the fiddle...
Music is the best part of any given movie.

I was a little disappointed by the music in Into the Woods.
It was good in context, but it didn't make me want to download any of it at all...

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

I get a section? Cool!
:D

I'm seriousness, I should tell you that in game, most if not all of The catfolk are from a planet of indeterminate distance from Agartha, called Alocatra. Also populated by other animal races known as *animal*folk.
No humans. Some fey.
They only very recently(10 years) found out about other planets besides their own. Tybalt took one of the first visiting star ships away from home. There is one other catfolk, an NPC owned by a player on semi-hiatus, so there is some warrant for a section.

The more you know. ;)

Shall we begin? Is everyone ready?
