I'm not trying to say he'd win. I'm tying to say Settro, or powerful students, shouldn't be thought of as something that a teacher could just brush off like they were nothing. At least, that's how I feel about it. Sorry if I'm not coming off well, or being offensive.

I still can't think of any spell that can one hit kill 300 hp with no save.
Not unless we start using the horribly broken epic spell system.
Under any circumstance, it just seemed that he was grabbing for ways to not shoot Settro, as if that one shot would end him instantly.
Feels... Odd, to me.

I'm trying to find a trait and the moble site is fighting me
I figure I'll try croud sourcing it
I remember the effect but not the name
It extends the duration of using magus arcana to enchant your weapon
I believe it was from one miniute to two.

So... I want to play RotRL with a GM from Avalon. I would like 20-25 point buy-a high powered game-if anyone is willing.
I know this seems kind of out of the blue, but I have a character idea that I REALLY want to use for RotRL, especially with this subsystem that TSP wrote up:
As your character progresses through the game, through effective roleplaying he will accumulate Virtue and Sin points. Not only do these points help define your character, but they grant in-game mechanical bonuses, encouraging good roleplaying.[list]
Virtue Points: Virtue points give you a mechanical bonus to a roll or skill check pertaining to the specific virtue. The virtues are: Charity, Temperance, Generosity, Love, Humility, Zeal, and Kindness. Generally, these bonuses are small, but they offer no drawbacks. For every 4 points of a Virtue you have, you get a +1 virtue bonus to the roll. Sin Points: Sin points give you a large mechanical bonus to a single roll or skill check-or, in the case of Wrath, your damage rolls. The Sins are: Envy, Lust, Wrath, Greed, Pride, Gluttony, and Sloth. However, the more powerful Sin points come with a price: you also gain a penalty to certain skill checks-often the ones related to the opposing Virtue-and a penalty to saves against the corresponding school of magic, equal to your Sin bonus. You gain a +1 sin bonus for every two points of a Sin you have accumulated You have to keep in mind that you should only reward Sin and Virtue points for significant roleplaying actions. For example, a character blowing all of his initial coin on beer is worth a Gluttony point, but having a small drinking binge for one night isn't. In addition, your character must select a Virtue and a Sin. You gain double points for that Virtue and Sin.
You guys dig?
I'm working on a backstory right now, as a matter of fact.

I finally have a personality, fighting style and teaching style down for my light blades teacher
I just need a name and I'll be ready to introduce my three failed kitsune teacher.
As for stats, I'm mostly going light on rules for him
I'm using the native kitsune race with this class plus a little bard and swashbuckler for spice

....
So
...
Seems that there is a ... pattern.
All girls with otherwordly or mixed heritage:
Starlight, an quickling girl
Two tieflings-yet two more girls
And Vai-a half dragon/half-elf-a "mongrel," viewed by some
Perhaps the killer has a thing with purity of the school?
Lord Foul II |
Possibly, or it could just be that there are a lot of that sort here. I mean of my four (soon to be five) characters two (soon to be three) of them are mixed breads, Dave most notably
The fact that they were all female though may also say something
Melody Waverider |
I have my theories but since they are always wrong... I just ignore them.
anyway my theories are also very self centered.
the Killer likes Mel and he/she is killing everyone he/she thinks is prettier than Mel.
who knows maybe I'll get another box of hearts.

Note: it's not Starlight, but Zilla who got whacked. Starlight is a defunct character, as her player quit the game, just so you know.
Zilla had visible and obvious Fae qualities though, so your theory still holds I'd say.
Maybe the murderer believes themselves self-righteous? Dragons on Agartha are widely considered evil, tieflings as well... And based on some of the actions of the Winter Court, I'm guessing Fae are at best treated as enigmatic and dangerous, and at worst evil.
I mean... So far it has all been teenaged girls...
Let's just hope we can find the killer before they open the Chamber of Secrets.

While I was in P.E. today, everything clicked.
The firebird plumage.
"Tainted" girls who could potentially "dilute" the "glorious" firebird gene pool.
So, in my opinion, there are two possible ways this could go:
-A: After the Sun was dismantled, some firebird-most likely a supporter of Fuego Helios-snapped. In his/her deranged mind, s/he thought that firebird "mongrels" orchestrated it-which, in a way, they did (no offense, Ardiente). With all of the firebird refugees camping near Avalon, s/he thought that s/he should remove all temptation to breed with unsuitable mates, killing all of the potential concubines.
-B: The feather in the book. I mean, seriously. Isn't that a little... I don't know, obvious? Somebody with a grudge against the firebirds has orchestrated a series of murders that would point to a firebird with racial superiority on its mind, hoping to land him/her a death sentence.
Those are my theories. What are yours?
Lucas Svarog |
Just saying
I didn't do it
GM Fireclaw |
While we're on the subject of the Sun, I'm taking bets on a pool for which of my PCs is gonna die next. First Ardiente, then Ehos and now Vai.
Any bets? 100 "Whose-Line" points to buy in.
GM Fireclaw |
Evil Vai.
Sorry, to specify, my PCs are only these: Ardiente, Ehos, Lily, Midori, Rena, Repp, Tyrrin, Vai, and (to a lesser extent) Vare.
Evil Vai is an NPC, and a villain. She destined to die eventually. ;)
