The Avalon Chronicles
Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

So if teachers are supposed to be able to play with Demon Lords, why did they all quit after an invasion of demonkind?

Because not all of the teachers are capable of that actually. Most are normal teachers that can handle beyond-normal students.

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Yep, just because teachers can be low epic doesn't mean they have to be. Expertise is valued regardless of power level.

Is mathemagics just a normal math class? I've seen it mentioned, but it wasn't explained much...

I said mathemagics out loud to make sure I read it right. My little brother heard me and asked what that was. I went no idea but my guess is magical math.

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Mathemagics is mostly normal math, with some unusual practical applications...like how to calculate a trajectory on the fly...or an area of effect. Mathemagics sounded better than trigonometry for spellcasters. :)

That and nobody appreciated my idea of calling the class 'I've Got Tone 101'.

[Shrugs]

;P

I like I've Got Tone 101 better. :)

Not all of the faculty can have the blessed existance that is being a kitsune.
You can't be mad at them, Ryo.

Not that it makes you feel any better, but Fivain drops this kind of crap on me all the time with stuff for the Order of the Gunslingers.

I feel your pain, bro. That said - good luck with that ;)

Hmm, to try and continue without Downrightamazed? Meh... should do some work on my homebrew.

It would probably be more fun if you waited until he logged back in. Maybe he's just elsewhere on the boards....

[EDIT]: It appears he was taking care o' business in his own PBPs as of about half an hour ago. I suppose a 'PM' thingy would be handy right about now ;)

(Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9)

I think he works 2 jobs, so we'll just leave it for now. If he's posted in another pbp a half hour ago I'm sure he's busy and trying to keep his stuff moving.

(Male More Human than Human Rogue 10 / Fighter 6 / Shadowdancer 10 / Void Incarnate 4)

No worries. I'm stepping away from the keyboard in a few myself :)

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

This made me think of Avalon. Not sure why exactly.... ;P

I love XKCD. My favourite web comic.

It certainly fits, doesn't it? XD

All six of my games I'm running (three IRL, three here in PbP) take place simultaneously in the same homebrew world and all effect each other. There have already been two crossovers where an IRL group met a PbP group and interacted with them, and now one of my PbP groups is about to be teleported by Dragonsingers to meet with another one. So things are a little hefty, logistics-wise, right now for me. It all always ends up being worth it, though, as the players tend to have a blast with that kind of "super Marvel crossover collector's issue" kind of stuff, and it's really fun to do, even if it is quite effort-intensive.

But yeah, various groups have already made life very, very difficult for other groups without knowing it. :-D

tl;dr - a pillow fight is a nice change of pace right now. :-p

Although Percy just wants to go back to arguing about hip-hop and related issues of perceived authenticity in the audience.

I get what you mean. Currently trying to write a history for my homebrew setting.

It's trying to remember details of a campaign that took 2 years to complete, 2 years ago.

Out of curiousity how? Was it us? Oh I hope it was us...

(Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Wizard/Psion(Telepath) 16)

Just out of curiosity, is it considered rude to interject myself into the middle of what other people are doing?

Not really, unless they are in a room or something.

(Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Wizard/Psion(Telepath) 16)

cool. I was wondering how to go about meeting people without seeming rude.

(Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9)

Especially not if they're in the hallway of the school. The hallway is practically an invitation for character interaction.

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Vai Emkar wrote:

The hallway and the cafeteria seem to be the most popular places for introductions. :)

(Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Wizard/Psion(Telepath) 16)

Very good. :)

(Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Wizard/Psion(Telepath) 16)

Also, does the map change its arrows to show me wherever it is in the school that I want to go?

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Phaezeriel wrote:

I believe so. Otherwise it wouldn't be much good for finding classes later on.

Vakkler is either immune to or a breaker of that rule. I seem to recall him barging into Michael's room during a private conversation with Kitty. ;)

But it is Vakkler he does things like that.

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Vakkler makes his own rules. And strictly enforces them. ;P

(Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9)

As the new folks may have noticed, Avalon is usually quiet during the weekend. Fear not, it will pick back up on monday.

Also, if Phaezeriel wants to meet up with Charlie's Ang... er... the girls, Fei and Krays, now would be the time, as they're all in the hallway together.

You guys find a Charlie and Bosley yet?

(Male Human Psion (Shaper) 14 (D6))

I'm hoping to be here for the next "adventure", not just school life.

Gustav Stonecutter wrote:

Adventures often happen as part of school life. There have been a few field trips thus far but more often that not stuff doesn't happen in the traditional adventure format. But just to make you happy, I can have you run afoul of a pack of lycans....they're due for another episode of acting out....they're in danger of losing their villain status if they don't ;)

Mrdarknlight wrote:

That depends....is Fei Bosley or is Krays Bosley?

Bosley never dated one of the Angels so Krays out. Fei might fit the bill.

(Female awww, but that would be telling Grammarian3/Artist1/Keeper of Useless Knowledge10)

Kronos might fit the bill for Charlie....sure, Ephebe's seen him, but he/she/it keeps changing what he/she/it looks like. :)

And totally talking to me in my head.

Does that make me Bosley?

(Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Wizard/Psion(Telepath) 16)

@Vai - I plan to, I have just been kinda busy this weekend.

@Lynora - I will be kinda not posting much at all between the 22nd and the 2nd. I will be out of town. Any issue with that?

None at all, we'll just assume that he's laying low until the furor over the recent invasion dies down. :)

Nope, I'll stay quiet for the time being. Especially since last time I checked, Gustav doesn't have any silvered daggers or spiked gauntlets. Which I should look into.

Hey Lynora can Enre wrestle the lycans? I promise to not have him rage.

So glad I am away right now. Albin might be looking for me though. Check my profile, I think I've still got my guarddog linked there. Hope he doesn't try and break into my room...

Just watched The Sitter ans I am going to get it as soon as it comes out. Enough said.

Me, too, after a failed attempt at Christmas shopping...I think everyone is getting gift cards this year. :)

I thought that aside from some horrible stop motion during the one fight scene that gave me a headache that the movie was quite good. Sherlock vs Moriarty makes for good entertainment. :)
