:PAh.
Being ignored is a huge pet peeve of mine. I empathize.
Since I'm a cat, do I have owner peeves?

No, you're a cat. Everyone knows cats aren't pets....they keep humans as pets. ;P

I think she's saying, tame your human better, he's slipped his reigns... Or leash.

Lyn, i think i have how this is gonna go.
Reincarnation will be preformed, However The shard of destruction is bound to his soul. When he changes bodies, however, the new body is not modified by the shard, and only the soul. This allows him to learn to control it much better over time, or simply try and push it away and ignore it, for all of this to happen again. (Ignoring your problems never helps)
Also, much of his martial prowess comes from his antimagic reinforcing his body, and as such, he will lose quite a few levels when reincarnated.
And don't worry about how he'll use all his antimagic. I've been talking to KC about it.
Also, when reincarnated, i am so rolling a d2 for gender. XD

Incidentally, I don't actually know the full extent of the shard's "deal", since I ain't read any of the spoilers. Near as I can tell, the shard of the Patron of Destruction is somewhat merged with Adon, making him a sort of being of living negative energy and therefore unsustainable?

So much more complicated then that.
Ok, less negative energy, more anti-energy. Like a positron in comparison to a proton.
If Negative energy is electrons,
And Positive energy is protons,
Adon is positrons. (Electron with a negative charge)
Anyway, the shard's deal isn't too well explained or constructed, but it's bound to his soul, if everything goes as planned.

So Ryo got new robes and it wasn't from the person who announced giving free clothes away over the intercom? :(

Trust the person you know, or the student in a magical school that could likely give you an outfit that's prank filled? Decisions, decisions...
arrr there gos that plan

And the materials in the lab were left there after they were wiped?

Not quite sure I understand what you're asking.
Nanites assemble other nanites from raw materials (primarily Carbon). If we're talking about Aananda's lab, things were pretty much broken down into their consituent molecules and have yet to be rearranged. She's planning on taking care of that next....she has design plans she's looking forward to implementing.
lynora |
OK. I was possibly going to narrate the nanites using the scrap from the lab to compensate for all the blown up supplies. Is that feasible? Or something else I should know?
Ah, that's not necessary. If you'll recall, Tamrin brought down some emergency supplies from the Harbinger after all the explosions. Plus, if you use the scrap from the lab for the supplies, what is she supposed to use to rebuild the lab?
lynora |
Plus - advanced tech probably has advanced heat dispersion, requiring no magic. Who knows what tech will be like in the future after all?
Exactly. These have about as much in common with real world nanites in our time as an old school supercomputer that took a whole enormous room and had less computing power than a modern calculator does with an iphone. :P
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic and all that. :)

I was mostly thinking that the Grim from the comics seems to me that he wouldn't really like his mom teaching him chess, mostly just feigning interest to keep from taking whatever horrible punishment he would have. O_o
Sara on the other hand, enjoys chess and played it often (why would she suggest it if she didn't really like it), because, well, island. There really isn't much else to do there at all.....
Plus you have Sorun who only has a vague idea how to play chess, where I have Hew who is actually decently competent at it.

Ah. Forgot about the supplies.
But would it not be easier to just order the nanites into new machines instead of building them back from molecules? O_olynora |

So normally when someone is bound to a Seed (or shard...that works too, but I like using seed to describe it because it has the ability to grow in power) of Destruction it increases their destructive power. Usually by increasing some ability (often magic) and had Adon been bound to it properly he'd have been a very powerful evoker. But however he ended up with the Seed, it bonded too well. Instead of increasing his destructive potential it turned him into a small piece of pure destruction. In effect, he now is the Seed. Which is why it's bound to his soul rather than just his body. But if after being reincarnated he works on learning to control it instead of ignoring it and letting it run unchecked, he can learn to keep it from destroying him again.
This is my understanding with some added fluff to take into account the whole Destruction thing. Is any of this incorrect or in need of further refinement?
If not then it's just an issue of timing for when you want this whole thing to go down.:)

She's very thorough when it comes to security risks. And the initial program was intended to destroy everything to prevent it from falling into enemy hands should the school be invaded. Security Code Omega destroys everything....and she can activate it in any part of the school necessary. This time it was specific to the lab.
