Daddy was mean to Jiminy! Everyone's mean to Jiminy! All Jiminy ever wanted was to be loved, and who wouldn't love this little cherub face, and these chunky little thighs, and wouldn't want to make that cute little baby giggle with delight? Mean people, I tell you, mean people. People that don't like to play games, or sing songs, or share their candy! And Jiminy likes his candy!
Besides, DB3 is responsible for some of it. And the Diaper of Holding. Hehe
And don't forget how Tamrin would twitch just seeing the avatar. Heh

Yes, but what you call mean normal people call parenting. :)
And in all fairness to Tam, he and Aananda weren't even a couple when Jiminy first showed up. They were still at that amusing stage where they'd both get all goofy every time they tried to talk to each other. In fact I seem to remember that Jiminy appeared even before the super uncomfortable conversation where Tam had to explain the birds and the bees to Aananda. :D
(Hey, she was raised in a monastery, what did you expect?)

Well, someone had to jumpstart that conversation. Or, I wouldn't have ever been born!

At least those parts of me that made me human. Kinda. Still, all those other parts make life fun. Maybe I should look up the parents of those parts. Bet they aren't all caught up with this pair-ant-ing thing. Then we could have a big old family reunion of sorts. Siblings, cousins, half-sisters and -brothers, the whole lot. Hmmmm.....I think I remember this feeling. An idea forming....

In the Genetics lab aboard the scout ship, Nether Jumper, a man in a grey lab coat stands stooped over a console of blinking lights and shifting displays. A tray of uneaten food sits on a side table. No markings indicate what the console is for, it is obviously a self-creation. The man is alone, save for dozens of worker bots flitting about the room, tending to the numerous liquid-filled tubes of various sizes. Each tube is labeled, but the light from the liquids inside make them impossible to read from a distance.
A lab bot presses a button on a side console and a small cloud of liquid nitrogen escapes as several small cylinders raise out of the floor. The bot places a test tube into an empty cylinder, and they recede into the floor once more. The man at the main console seems oblivious to the goings and comings of the robotic workforce. As the lab bot returns to its duties the letters G.MAN.E 110017 are legible upon its back. The bot is an older model, but several customizations are noticeable.
A bell is heard above the hum of the equipment and a side door slides silently open. A cloud of mist from the doorway parts to reveal another humanoid shape entering the room. A protective suit hides its details. It is simply a biped, taller than a human, and slim but its gait yet glides effortlessly. Even in the cumbersome attire. He approaches the man at the console, who seems oblivious to the intrusion. As the newcomer's stance changes and it looks as if it is about to speak the man pauses in his work and speaks in a surprsingly youthful voice, "Yet another instrusion, Captain Valda? You know my position on the matter."
The mercurial being freezes in place and stiffens. "I feel it is necessary, once again, to voice my concerns over the diversity of the creatures we are dealing with, Professor. It is your area of expertise, of course, but can we really trust the..." The captain is cut off mid-sentence with the wave of a wrinkled hand.
"I realize that you believe the best course of success lies within your own species, but our travels so far should give you a sense of the Powers that lay outside your domain. Powers we need to harness should we seek to make the G.Man.E project truly successful." The skin on the old man's hands begins to move on its won, taking on an almost fluid texture. "This conversation is done. Wait upon the courier, so we may depart this realm before we are noticed by the others."
"But, Professor, this being calling itself Loki, he appears dangerous. My crew..."
"Enough! I care not for your fears. All is in control. Loki is not the worst we shall be dealing with. And his childish interference, making the subjects crave sweets is a small matter. And the Time Creature's abilities let us pursue multiple pathways in real time, rather than relying on simulations. Gird yourself, and have your crew do likewise, lest I contact your superiors. Now, leave me."
Captain Valda bows stiffly, and his effortless glide out of the lab is absent as he is pupetted from the room.

Perhaps Lil' Jiminy is the Patron of Madness. That would allow both Jiminy's to stick around and would doubtlessly lead to a very... entertaining conversation.
Patron or Champion? It could work either way....In a truly sanity killing way...at least for the Sunwake family....

I have another question who is the baby and why does he inspire such looks and fear of insanity?
The original Agartha game was a cooperative effort between E7, DB3, The Dalesman, and myself. We sort of took turns with the DMing. This game has had me taking on the majority of the DMing duties with assistance from DB3 when he can due to being more busy than he used to be. Anyways, Jiminy Sunwake was originally E7's character and though he appeared to be a baby he wasn't really, he'd been altered by a time demon. That's where the references to the time loop that Ephebe was stuck in while she was trying to defeat said time demon come from. The time demon is dead, but the suggestion is currently being made (since E7 may be rejoining the game) that maybe Ephebe missed a Jiminy. Seriously, evil baby Jiminy creeps me out...he creeps everybody out but he's also hilarious. :)

Other than that, I'm just a sweet little bundle of joy, that suffers from what Daddy calls 'im-pulse' control, and talks in 'run-on' sentences that makes Uncle Ryo chuckle, so he sneaks me candy, which makes me happy, and that's good, but when I'm not happy he says I'm like a friend of his from some TeeVee show, but I'm not sure what TeeVee is, but it sounds fun, but not has fun as playing with puppies and kittens, unless they bite, 'cause then they hurt me, and I usually hurt them back, then they don't play much any more, 'cause they're just laying there, so I use the tricks the mean mommy does to make them play again, but don't tell mean mommy that, 'cause I learned them by secret, and she can get real grouchy, and blames my fun on my good mommy and her secrets, but I won't tell her the secrets no matter how much candy she gives me, 'cause it's easy to get candy when you're adorable like me, and it makes my poop-ees smell sweet, then I have to find someone to change my diaper, and it has been a while, so I guess I'm smelling pretty sweet right now.
DB3's fault for the run on sentences, from one of his game groups. Jiminy's a mix of the kid from The Twilight Zone (Anthony Fremont) and that old dude in the baby's body from Star Trek. Kind of a 'just because you can doesn't mean you should modus operandi. Why the Time Demon wants him is much more involved. Suffice it to say, he's one in a series of continuing experiments.
He's tough to write for and more of a pain in the group's side at every opportunity. That part is fun. As is messing with people. I'm fine with leaving him be, and mulling over new/resurrected more 'normal' characters. Agartha Four™? hehe
Uh oh. Maybe playing Jiminy made my brain bleed last year? Uh oh.

I hope both my guys dont run into Baby J, dont think his creep factor will work on etheir one. I scares me to think what Solivala would do. But I bet Gaelvin will sing him to sleep. XD
Soli would end up getting extremely warped emotions from Baby J.
Gaelvin would end up performing the theme to "Barney and Friends" endlessly. You must be careful when dealing with Baby J.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I love you,
You love me,
Everyone loves Jim-in-y,
with a great big hug,
and a kiss from me to you,
Won't you say you love me TOO!
'Cause if you won't,
You'll make me sad,
And I'll do things you consider bad,
With a great big bang,
And a curse from me to you,
You'll end up like a horse, turned into glue
Fear the Mouse |
But I think you misunderstood.
Now, saying 'you misunderstand' to another RP character has always seemed rather arrogant to me, and I feel the need to give a disclaimer. So I'm just going to say that the Mouse is intentionally baiting Ryo, and it's not just me trying to make my characters seem knowledgeable.
Thank you very much.Krays |
I got the impression they acted like the embodiment of their concept.
Time seems very disinterested, becasue well he doesn't require anything to happen to exist, where as other concepts, like Deception require deception to actually occurr to exist, so she/he/it is more involved, or as involved she/he/it can be.
I would think all comcepts based on emotion would be more involved, while the others, that just are, are more detached.
Just my 2 cp.

Mostly they interact with their champions, but yeah, some are more involved than others. Most of the concepts don't care to interact with mortals. It's like you trying to have a conversation with bacteria. :)
But the emotion ones (Fear, Love, Hope, Madness) tend to be more connected to the mortal world.
The Illustrated Man |
Cast out. Again.
The story's been the same ever since...they appeared. Right as he neared the change from child to man. Once their nature was discovered, he was quickly put out from his home. And every home since.
An outsider from birth, due to his lack of speech, Fate seems to enjoy cruel jokes at his expense. He stops to rub the soon-to-be bruises on his body. Bruises that will never be seen, hidden by the swirls of color that cover his entire body. The pain of the stoning will fade. The curses from his last hope for a home will follow him for much longer. 'CURSED! DOOMSAYER! EVIL ONE!'
Young by the measure of his race, the dwarf begins the trek through the tunnels from The Below. There is no place left to try here. Maybe The Above will yield better results. He gathers his ragged cloak, a blanket in more ways than clothing, and pulls up the hood. The light ahead tells him he is near. Best not to let his 'problem' be noticed too quickly.
He silently sings a lullaby his mother used to sing to him. He stops himself. Best to leave that part of him in The Below.
No name yet. Just a title. Whatcha think? I have another creation in the works as well.

This seems about right. Fear gets involved a lot, but it sort of makes sense. The mouse form is less of a real creature and more like an eye. So naturally it's always watching for danger.
What I know is that Fear hates Love and is very wary of Deception. Add in Creation making Solivala his Champion and Fear is moving very quickly to 'protect' himself.Fear the Mouse |
Why would fear care about creation. I mean isn't creation needed to keep fear going, if nothing exist fear is kinda out of his supply.
The fact that Creation's pretty much breaking the rules with this new Champion has Fear concerned. Fear may break the rules, but when others do it...he gets nervous.
/\ That limit seems to apply more to metal walls and doors. We should ask the experts, though. If only we could find some folk knowledgeable on the Pathfinder system...where, where?
Asch Redgrave |

I'd say with out fear no one would feel the need to create new defenses and without destruction all there would be is creation and everything would fall out of balance thus the need for Champions to return all to balance.
lynora |
I'd say, Ryleh has discovered metal bending.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna rule that she found a window or something. If it were Aananda then metal bending would make sense. But Ryleh has always focused on divination as her main thing. She doesn't really earthbend. She just has the earth glide ability.

If your trying to say that an existance of peace, growth, and utopia is unbalanced then buddy I am going over to Madnesses team right now. Forget you and your balance seeing as it sucks. ;D
But really I find fear not liking creation picking such a champion to be more reasonable and enjoyable. Creation squeezed in a good one, fear's just sore he did not do it first. Way more entertaining. I like the aspect rivalry, wonder who else has them.
Fear the Mouse |
Creation squeezed in a good one, fear's just sore he did not do it first.
That's certainly part of the reason. What's important in understanding Fear is that he believes everyone is out to get him. They aren't rivals, they're enemies.
But yeah, envy is definitely a factor.Fear the Mouse |
Hold on it sounds to me like fear is a victim of himself in a way. Wouldn't that make it harder for him and his champion to work with the others. Seems kinda chaotic to me.
If he had a self to victimize, yes, it'd be quite a tragic character. Or comic relief. :P
It's actually pretty lawful, though. He's always neat and methodical. So, not really chaotic.
