Another Aspie! You are not alone. :)
[in a sad yet knowing voice] We, with our more advanced brains, must forgive those poor inferior folks for not understanding us, we are just too much for their inferior minds, after all, the best of them have intelligence scores of only 18. Sad really.
Just joking everyone.
Besides, aren't we just plain autistics now with latest DSM?

I forget what I was supposed to be doing...
We are waiting on whoever is the secretary for the principal. Though I guess we could always just skip ahead to after that. I'm not sure who is playing the secretary really.

Also OCD and ADHD
Last I head we were on the "antisocial personality disorder" spectrum along with autism, psychopathy, and sociopathy.

All I can imagine is Jerry Seinfeld as a centaur and Martin Short in a labcoat...

I'm not, but from a psychological perspective, it may be because this type of game would appeal to a common mentality among you in its base, but when you have the game without the pressure of real social contact, it is easier to get into.
Or its just a really cool game. That might be it too...
Doesn't hurt that the GM has a kid with high functioning autism (formerly known as aspergers) and therefore has spent serious time learning how to understand and communicate in spite of differences. And stories make a great bridge. :)
And stories are fun for the rest of us too, so it works. ^.^
Serrin Surya |
Hey Magic,
I came up with what I think will be an interesting way to move Lim and Serrin forward, but I'm going to need you to allow me total freedom in the scene to do more or less anything to Lim. Don't worry, I won't hurt, harm, attack him, etc, but I don't wanna tell you what's gonna happen as I want your reaction to be genuine. However, I can PM Lyn if ya want and let her know what's gonna happen to ease fears.
Also, I need a big PC, as in somebody who would be considered Large size or bigger in the rules.
I could go with an NPC, but having it be a PC would be much more fun and interesting.

You can do whatever you want to him using your character or npc's and I just deal with it in character. That's always how it works. Unless it makes someone uncomfortable OOC, which is very few things for me, so if that's what you mean, you're probably fine, go ahead.
Assuming reactions or speaking/acting for him is less kosher. I hardly know how he works before a scene happens, and I invented him, so I don't neccesarily think you could speak for him in character.
Which did you mean?
Kevin is large size, but he's a busy adult dragon with places to be and people to see destroyed mech hangars to see and guys to not-on-purpose flirt with.
Having two of me there would also probably not go how you plan, either.

Sorry, I got a back to school cold. Kidlet brought home new and interesting viruses!
And I really need to remember to actually write down the plots of some of those feverish hallucinations. I get some of my best ideas when I'm delirious....
I'm going to try to post a bit now. Before the ibuprofen wears off. While my words are actually intelligible. :)

been real busy lately..
thanks magic for the help, I think I was getting a bit lost as to where to go.
also wondering if it is time to move forward with the rift closing thing.
We can move forward with the rift closing thing whenever you feel ready. We hit all the points we needed to get to before closing it, so you have a go. :)

Alright, I really want to get back into participating in the game, but I'm really not shure where to start.
Just pick a character and post something. That's what I've been doing. It's why I made a list so I could remember where I left off with everyone.

Fei needs to send a 'special delivery' through that wormhole before we close it. Working on getting that ball rolling now... (^-^)
Serrin Surya |
Lyn,
Let's just say the school 'funneled' Serrin to the elementary lunch room.
This works since, at the moment, she doesn't have much conscious control over herself or where she's going.

Spent the afternoon fussing with the modem/router in order to figure out what today's magic combination was as far as which order and how many times I would have to turn them off and restart them before Internet was working again. Have now run out of time to post. :(
Well, hopefully I will be able to post later. Sorry. :(
The Dalesman |
No worries, Lyn. I need Repp's reply before I move forward anyway. Must keep things synced up properly.
In related news, - if my schedule allows, I'll shoot you a PM today about a subject we haven't been able to get to for over a year ;)
[Edit]
And PM sent (^-^)

Hey guys. Sorry for my lack of posting. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that it's because I spent too much time playing Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. My husband bought it for me as a cheer up present because it's that time of year.
Anyhoo, I'm gonna be getting caught up tonight. Gotta keep the plot rolling. :)
Serrin Surya |
Lyn, I have Serrin listed as 14. I think we agreed she should be in the elementary wing, due to her incredibly sheltered life, despite how educated she is, but I can't remember.

No, she was definitely supposed to be in with the older kids. As Shiro said, there's a class for that. Although I don't think Serrin is as far behind as some of the rest in that class. :)
Actually with her being well educated, she can probably just be in normal classes really. It's not like she's the only socially backwards one there. It's kind of a common problem.Shirokouruma |
I kind of picture Shiro's class as something you can just be in for as long as you need to, and then transfer to other classes. So, maybe Serrin can just have one of her classes be the part of Shiro's class that covers social skills?
His class happens in the same units of time as regular classes, and the blocks of time are subjects. English/Language, History/Science, Math, and Social Skills. He doesn't have a last block, because that's when he does psychologist work. Students have an elective class during that block.
Do we have six blocks? If we do, pull history and science into two classes. If there's five, history and science alternate.
lynora |
I thought Shiro's remedial classes only happened during the first three blocks. Although I could see social skills having to be added as a fourth period class....it was a bigger subject than anyone realized. :P
And yes, there are six blocks total. But Shiro also teaches a psychology class for not remedial students, plus whatever time he spends treating individual patients. So he needs at least two blocks not taken by the remedial students.
