Some thoughts about the battles.

Keep in mind that the herald at the pillar is calling all of you to come and be transported into the game. He doesn't give you much detail about what to expect but you can look around you at the other people waiting their turn to be taken into the game. you have no idea of terrain or conditions of the place you are going. The only thing you know is the game will test you as well as the other players.

You should only have with you what you could realistically walk/fly/swim up to the pillar with.

Female Merfolk Sorcerer 11

Meredith left a comfortable life in the oceans to explore as alien a world as she could possibly imagine--the realm of landwalkers.

This is but another "step" in her journey. She glides up the pillar in her "crystal fishbowl," eyes filled with awe.

Wait, how many players are playing here?

Interesting to see tons of players showed interest during recruitment, but when GM announced so let it begins...what left in arena is just empty cold air.

It's not begun yet, as far as I know, though getting close to, I think. There's still a lot of talk going on in the recruitment portion of the thread.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

To win Glory for the Acadian Alliance and to test herself against other worlders she chooses to fight in the arena.

This will be a good honing of her skills and hopefully another victory under her belt.

When do we enter the arena?

i am uploading maps, was waiting for CP but he seems have to disappeared this weekend. I'm going to start organizing matches as soon as i get the maps uploaded to something we can all use. The main issue with just posting a map with a-z for coordinates is that the arena is 60 feet across.... which is 120 squares. so We have to use some site or software that lets us track where we are. I'm excited to get this going sorry it is such a mess.

wow am i tired. i mean 12 squares. sigh. Looks like I made a 600 foot room. well i got a map for a epic battle. now to scale it down a smidge.

The inner voice within your ear

Yeah. You have more squares to one side then you do letters in the alphabet.

"I teleport from A3 to ZB32." <-- Now where did we put ZB32?

:P

lol. well the first tier map is uploaded to roll20. I'll post it to the my site as well.
and it ended up being 24x24. so we could run it in the forum.

I hope you mean 600. Cuz 60 is gonna be waaaayyy too small for Gorik :P

This is going to be interesting...

Good thing I am not playing a Wizard or Sorcerer... My spells might fill the entire combat map...

Male Kitsune Sorcerer 11(Crossblooded)

That is if you plan to use area effects...

Hustar Hoarfox wrote:

Yeah I always use AoEs You wouldn't be able to avoid me! Mwahahahahahaha

That is unless I play a Fighter.

Today's been quiet, but there's no deadlines posted, either for starting time or even just for locking in characters. I think a lot of the discussion's moved over to the level 20 arena thread.

I'm still playing with the details of a crafter version of my monk. That should be done shortly, although I don't know if Chaiboy will allow me to change to it.

Level 20 arena! :)

I think we are waiting on the rest of the roster to fill in on this thread.

Yes, the level 20 arena has been somewhat distracting :P

Male Elf Magus 11 AC27/T16/FF23,+4 spell, HP23/81, F14/R11/W12 +2vs Enchantment, Init +4, Perception +22

Where are the map links?

Yes, and how does one make rolls on the boards? I´ve seen RD do it.

["dice"] with the appropriate ["/dice"] afterwards, just without the quotations of course.

The rest is the regular 2d8+5 or what have you.

11d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5, 2, 5, 1, 4, 2, 3, 1) = 33

33 Bludgeoning damage and Deafened for 1 hour. Fort Save DC 20 to halve the damage and negate deafened, go!

Male Human Gerndarme 1/ Spellbreaker 4 / Armor master 6

So...

wen can I kill my first caster?

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

*Readies Shield*

When do the gates open?

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Gorik stretches theatrically. "Honestly, gonna fall asleep at this rate," he grouches.

Aasimar 7 Bard (Sound Striker) / 4 Ninja

Moved as requested: The room is where we fight? So two actions, plus anything we can do while on the move? Such as cast a spell, pull an item, and draw a weapon while on the move? Or would we have time to cast more spells as well?

The inner voice within your ear

I assumed normal turn-based actions. The only house rule I've heard so far was diagonals count as 2 rather than 1.5.

^ Yeah, that kinda threw me off too.

Aasimar 7 Bard (Sound Striker) / 4 Ninja

I was referring to how many actions we could take to prepare before we get into the fight. It will determine what I do before I get into a fight. Which I'll likely be doing mine tomorrow night. Looks like there are already enough people in the middle of matches and I will hopefully have more time tomorrow to post.

@Gorik: They are and by my count we are on Round 3/10.

I already know my next few rounds for the most part.

I thought it was 1,2,1,2 squares of movement for diagonals under standard rules. Though his method does seem more Video Game-esque.

The inner voice within your ear

*laughs* I forgot the windows had been shattered. Hopefully the strong currents force Nicos against the wall (or even out a window)!

Darkwolf117 wrote:
Now the question is... was there anywhere near that much water in the fountain?

It's a transmutation spell. It expands (or reduces) the water similarly to the way shrink item reduces a boulder to a pebble.

Remember, it's a 6th-level spell, more powerful than the likes of even teleport. It's meant to be powerful.

The only reason I get it as a 5th-level spell is because of my bloodline.

Nicos you need to roll a reflex save if you haven't already.

The Necropolis - Day - Late Morning - Tomb Day One

sigh....he has to make a lot of strength rolls and saving rolls to not drown or be swept out windows. at least for the next 5 turns.

What happens if he does go out of the window does he lose or is it just a change of venue?

I feel like a b**** mentioning that the save DC I calculated was a DC 23 Reflex save...

The inner voice within your ear

Chaiboy: The water is actually touching the ceiling (30 feet) prior to its drainage. I actually did the math for water volume in Excel.

I can fill a 120x120x24' area with water. However, the tower is a cylinder, not a 3D rectangle. Therefore, the excess water fills it up to 30 feet.

Since that's the ceiling cap, I've flooded the ENTIRE room. Nicos should be entirely submerged. Some of that might drain off into the peripheral rooms, but the depth is still going to be close to 30 feet.

The inner voice within your ear

I feel sorry for Nicos' poor, poor mount.

No, not really. :D

By my calculations he failed his save...

The inner voice within your ear

Are you referring to Nicos, Fayth?

If Chaiboy uses my spell DC for Nicos' Reflex saves, then the DC would be 23.

Wow, that was the DC I figured... didn't realize the spell had a DC to begin with...

The inner voice within your ear

Drowning doesn't work that way, Chaiboy. Drowning rules.

@Darkwolf117: You there!

It doesn't, technically, but if I were a GM and I needed to ad hoc a DC for a spell being used in an unusual manner, I'd start with the spell DC.

The RAW already does something similar for Concentration DCs.

meredith turn i Guess.

Ah ok then.

BTW: If I figured correctly I should have 6 rounds left not 5.

I am invisible and underwater how meredith target me?

Nicos wrote:

I have blindsense 30 feet in water, telepathy out to 100 feet, and also...

Invisibility rules: An invisible creature in the water displaces water, revealing its location. The invisible creature, however, is still hard to see and benefits from concealment.

Invisibility is reduced to Concealment when underwater. She is a Merfolk as well.

EDIT: Ninja'd

If you are underwater, the current should drag you too.

EDIT: telepathy do not help you to dind your targets.

Ha, sorry, sorry, I had too many options for what to do.

Ravingdork wrote:

That's... actually... curious. I thought Sorc and Oracle bonus spells progressed in such a way as to only give you spells of levels you could actually know. Since you don't have the ability to cast 6th level spells, wouldn't you not be able to cast that?

Weird though.
