Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
Kracow says from his vantage point This dragon seems to put his victims to sleep. But what I know of Gold dragons, they dodnt typically want to harm innocent passersby.

Turning to the Ifir, Maybe you had a problem with this dragon you would like to share with us?
Kracow continues to keep a watchful eye on the area.
Gunser Stormson |
"Why did you think a dragon's hoard would be unguarded? And long enough to fill an ox-cart? And loop back down the mountain? And to where, then? You've got more to say, say it. So far, your small answers all have made larger questions. Try larger answers."
MiniGM |
The Spire of Nex is where we are.
He opens his mouth to reply to Gunser then clamps it shut.
Am I your prisoner? So you interrogate me now? Fine deal with the dragon yourself.
The Ifrit pauses and extinguishes the fire on his sword and turns and begins to walk back down the path. Giving Gunser and gunslinging Kracow a wide birth.
Gunser Stormson |
"True enough, you're no prisoner; it was you first said the word. And you surely owe nothing to those come to your aid. And perhaps your debt to the dragon was paid by the ox? Run off with your secrets, carter-ifrit. I'll neither bargain with nor beg from a man counts in half-coppers, nor mince words with one speaks in half-truths. If you'd any honorable cause, you and your ox and cart, you'd have made it plain, and honorable folk might be moved to help. But you've mind instead to tease at truths, and flee like a felon. No prisoner, aye. You're no prisoner of mine. I'd not give you that much care. Gave you too much, already."
Gunser proceeds up the mountain along the path.
Mizaru |
Mizaru says nothing, though somewhat uncomfortable with the verbal confrontation. He feels unused to social graces and decides to wait for what the others will do before continuing on.
He nods to the Ifrit as he passes, acknowledging him.
MiniGM |
The Ifrit continues down the path, removing the weapon cord from his sword as he goes. He gets about a quarter mile down the path and stops, andpulls something from a pouch and begins to eat.
The heroes continue up the path, and in 30 minutes Kracow has again become sick. just let me know how you mitigate it
The party contiues up the path for another hour and Kracow AGAIN becomes sick. sucks dont it! Let me know how you mitigate it.
Picking up the pace the party can reach the mouth of the cave in 30 minutes if they so choose.
Gunser Stormson |
"That fellow is going to haunt us, and play crow to our wolf. Which I'd let be, but you've promised the gold, and if he takes any of that, what then? Also, we may have need of his cart."
Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
Playing catch up
Kracow lets the Ifrit pass, then says
Then whats to be done with cart?
But Kracow leave it as an open ended question and heads up the mountain with the rest.
Quickly Kracow becomes fatigued and uses two more mage armor charges.
(And a third charge once we are closer to the cave. I'll mark them off now.)
We should all keep an eye out for both the Ifrit and the dragon.

The party picks up the pace and reaches the cave about 30 minutes later. The mouth of the cave looms before them, if is 50 feet high. The cave appears to have a dim light radiating from it. It is silent.
Those who look behind see no sign of the Ifrit. The cart is where it was left.
Gunser Stormson |
Well, oblivious, Gunser sings:
"Well the sun it was hot, and the day it was warm
An' says I, 'A quaint pint, wouldn't do me no harm'
I wen' in the High Tower, for a bottle of stout
Says the barman, 'I'm sorry, all the beer is sold out'
'Try ye whiskey? Or Paddy? Seven years in the wood.'
Says I, 'Gimme cider, I've heard that it's good'"
Mizaru |
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Mizaru is distracted by Gunser's singing, brow furrowed as he tries to make sense of Gunser's accented singing.
Gunser Stormson |
Similarly oblivious, Boneyard remarks, "Seeing if you can wake the dragon Gunser?"
"Don't mind if I do.", Gunser replies. "Song is better than a knock at the door, and no purpose to stealth. Never made much habit of it, myself. And I reckon more danger from a schemin', theivin' fire-djinn than a dragon, trapped here just like us."
Gunser Stormson |
"Well, it's you lot know what we're here for. I'm followin' you. I suppose I'm willin' to be the one gets spat on again. And we've one sickenin' with every minute we waste. So, shall I go play herald?"
Gunser Stormson |
"Well, then...", Gunser visibly ponders. "In absence of a door knocker..." Gunser draws and releases a deep breath, then draws another, and shouts ahead, "Ahoy, Dragon! One comin' in!"
And Gunser walks into the cavern.
MiniGM |
With Gunser leading the rest by 10 feet he walks into the 20 foot wide cave mouth. The party travels in about20 feet before the source of the light becomes obvious. In the ceiling there are several holes that let in some light, which reflects off of thousands of pieces of treasure and jewelry. Mountains of gold is all over, along with innumerable items of every type imaginable.
There does not seem to be a dragon anywhere.
Gunser Stormson |
"Well, how do you suppose it is, the Ifrit and his cart are spotted, tumbled, and left below, and we lot are here unhindered? Reckon the dragon's gone for barbecue sauce for the ox? But here's my thinkin': Critter tumbles a thief, leaves him alive enough to be annoying to me, that critter's not such as I feel deserves the disrespect of having his home tumbled, however great our need. But Mister Kracow, there's still the matter of time, for you. If we've a man drownin', I'd be willin' to take a boat, and try to make amends later."
"But ain't it gallin'? Expectin' nothin', find a dragon. Expectin' a dragon, find nothin'."
Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
Kracow casts see invisible as the fatigue onsets and the party approaches the mouth of the cave.
Preception +1 if there is a trap.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
He then looks around and casts detect magic at the opening of the cave.
Wait for a ping then Kracow will concentrate on magic other than objects in the piles of gold.
Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
I'll be good for while now Mr Stormson. But I appreciate you looking out for me.
Once we enter and Kracow has time to search about the mouth of the cave.
I suspect there be Dragons here after all.
Like the reference!
Mizaru |
Mizaru follows behind them but keeps a lookout at the cave entrance, wary for the return of the dragon. "I suggest we hurry. If the dragon is gone, he might not be gone for long."
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Gunser Stormson |
"Hurry to do what? Nothin' we're here for, we can hurry about. And this dragon left the ifrit breathing. This is a talkin'-to dragon, not a gettin'-spat-on dragon. A creature with some measure of honor, mayhap, mercy, mayhap... Or it prefers ox to ifrit. If I had my 'druthers, I'd explain our situation to him. Even if a fool I'd be, I've been a greater one before."
"Still, it's you lot, know this place better'n me. Lead on."
Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
Assuming its safe and cant see anything hidden and no magic,
Kracow will continue into the cave.
I have powerful sense there is something over this pile of gold that needs my attention.
Let me check it out before we all succumb to its power.
Kracow will move around the pile of gold, using detect magic if the aura is magical or looking for more magic if any.
MiniGM |
Kracow is obviously occupied but everyone else make a Perception roll.
Kracow "Two Guns" Tosier |
I think I found something out of place here. As if there is a connection to our base in Absalom.[b]
[b]Maybe some wiser eye than mine needs to look at this.
Kracow will step back and gather his wits and wipe the sweat from his brow.
Does Kracow think he needs a magic fix?
Mizaru |
Mizaru takes note of some weapons to the side and continues to stand guard.
"A connection to outside?" Mizaru says when Kracow comes back to share what he found.
MiniGM |
Gunser Stormson |
"Well, if it's a way out, it's what I was lookin' for. I'll not leave you fellows short, though. Was this gate, door, whatever, what you were lookin' for? That ifrit was after an oxburden cartful of somethin', and that other dragon wants the gold. But I'll do with a way home. Again, when it suits you fellows. Say, there's a point..."
Gunser opens his sea bag, and takes out the volumes of the Encyclopedia Golarica. "More where you come from...", he seems to be apologising to the books, "But none others here I see."
"So? Are we leavin'? Lookin' for this dragon? Going back to the lake an' bash the spit out of the one spat on me? I'll follow you fellows, but you've got to lead."
Mizaru |
"I agree with Gunser. I shall follow you as well and trust you know the way out." Mizaru looks at the doorway with apprehension. "But I do not trust this gate."
