i cannot post as much as I usually do but I am back. I understand that holiday travel etc is going on. I expect posting ot be slow over the next few days. But once we have a decision we will move on.

Meh I work 12s everyday till the 4th so slow works for me. Yes I have to work Christmaseve day and new years eve. And since I dislike my family I volunteered too so some one else couldspend more time with theirs just didnt expect the 50 hours ot ontop of the 60 I agreed to work....

You do not actually get to open this gift until you leave the Legion hall, and really you should wait until xmas to open them

But magically in your packs when you leave the hall these items will appear. Yes some are worth more than others, but that has to do with your finding crap room

So mini varins intit total is plus two because of a trait bonus. Not that it matters since we one but just to save future confusion.

Varin will not fight this fight guys. In his screwed up world fighting an angelic being would be like sacrificing someone for the health and wellbeing of others that wasnt willing to die. For him its not a question he will let them kill him if it proves to them that you guys should be allowed to go unmolested. And keeps us from harming them.

hmm, this could get interesting. As a celestial being my typical tactics of trip and smash probably wont work as he'll just get up and fly, but it would be funny. anyone have a good way to disarm or disable someone?

And, someone may want to point out, and I don't mean to be a stickler about it but, by fighting the celestial to the death or he yields seems like a trick question. Fighting him would indicate we, at the least, are willing to harm a celestial for our on sakes. (seems kinda chaotic) And to the death seems to go against being good as no good creature, in my mind, would want to kill them. So the only way to win on this is disabling the being (and I dont think anyone has the feat for improved disarm so it would be AOO up the wazoo)

If we have to, I can be the sacrificial lamb as it were, (my mythic will let me absorb 30 points of damage vs the typical 10) and I can trip him as well as deal nonleathal damage to him without penalties, though I'm pretty sure that as a celestial being he can more than likely fly and I cant do much ranged wise. I figure If its possible to hold him, I can just continually trip and deal him nonlethal so it will take twice as long to actually kill him, but when he hits his HP in non-lethal I would hope that he realizes we arent there to taint the sanctuary.

its VERY clever varin. And I swear had I selected almost any other type of celestial, it might work had your dice fu not been balls!

Well I have some spells but im not sure how varins feels abiut this I mean he would be helpingti harm an Angel lol. I have heroism and mage armor. There is also my wand if of cure serious cl 7. Its a wonderous so ehad could use it.... and my belt of con. It will lose me spells til the bonus becomes permanent again but the two point boost might help ehad.....

Some needs to talk varin into helping though.

What does burning a mythic point on a spell do? So I have heroism and unerring weapon which gices crit confirm but only lasts 6 rounds. You want both ehad?

Well heroism def he other im willing to but it has ti be cast last thing before fight starts. Also we need to find you a way to fly. Unless he is willing to forgo flight to ensure fair and just combat. Someone might want to say also since its a duel dont the challenged get choice. Of weapons salus you might want to hammer that point make him fight unarmed if we can. What else can we think of. Will do game post when I wake.

lolz, that would be pretty funny considering few monsters have unarmed strike as a feat so all his attacks would be at penalties and deal less than mine :) Not exactly fair, but since he more than likely has DR (lets face it every celestial being does) and I dont... which reminds me, anyone have a way to bypass DR? I can handle him if its DR 5 but much more and I'd be toast damage wise (though I'll probably just try and pin him to start with regardless of the fact that he can fly).

OOOOO, funny though and question for Mini. I looked at the nonlethal damage rules and want your thoughts on this: "Certain attacks deal nonlethal damage. Other effects, such as heat or being exhausted, also deal nonlethal damage. When you take nonlethal damage, keep a running total of how much you've accumulated. Do not deduct the nonlethal damage number from your current hit points. It is not "real" damage. Instead, when your nonlethal damage equals your current hit points, you're staggered (see below), and when it exceeds your current hit points, you fall unconscious."

Now, I doubt you would rule this way, but would non-lethal damage technically bypass Damage reduction because it isn't "real" damage and as such, there isnt anything to prevent? I ask because it gives me a way to defeat opposing counsel without killing him or spilling any of his blood :). I figure as a monk it would make sense to understand how to disable someone without inflicting real harm on them (even though I haven't been employing it) and it would be wise and useful to do so here (if I kill him I lose because I killed a celestial being, if he kills me I lose because I died, but if I disable him, I win because I can force him to yield without blood shed as we wanted).


Varin: My mythic path ability lets me cast any spell on my spell list of a level I can cast as if I had it on spells known/memorized.

Is there an extra benefit on that nonlethal healing I'm forgetting about. You still heal it on a 1 to 1 basis, correct? Plus he heals one nonlethal per hour.

It was a LONG fight and I think this was the best way to run it. Would have taken several days in all likelihood with both of you doing it. One thing you might consider if you ever GM a similar situation in the future is to have us use skill rolls to give Ehad advantages - for example, Boneyard might be able to use Perception to help spot a weakness in the way the celestial was fighting. Here's a link to how Will Cooper used it as a technique in a Jade Regent PbP if you don't mind Jade Regent spoilers. He also gave the other side a chance to get bonuses (which would have been applicable here too).

And thanks for the Congrats! Sometimes its fun to be a player too and you have been an exceptional GM! I do GM one PbP, but found adding a second one to be a bit overwhelming. Still, there are some temptations out there that might eventually lure me in to GM a second one - an extended homebrew around Storasta, Razor Coast, and Midgard are all possibilities.

Thank you Boneyard! I appreciate that I do get a little bit overwhelemed at times. Glad it hasnt detracted. I thought about the skill check bonuses. I think had anyone popped in with a post in the middle I would have done it. But in the end I went for expediency on the duel.

Well perhaps when this one ends you can take over! I actually have a statted up Trinfulard that would be fun to play. he is a level 5 currently.

I do have an end in mind that is somewhere between levels 9-12 I suspect Though perhaps as high as 15

Trin is a Court Bard 3/Charlatan Rogue 2 if I remember correctly. He was a DM NPC on the original adventure that Kracow went on while this recruitment was happening.

Lolz, so, I'm back (ish). Still need to fix up housing a little but I HAVE INTERNET so the rest can wait. I have been reading the thread though, As you havent met anything to problematic, would it be better to wait and pop up or jump in now. I ask partially because if time doesn't flow differently it would be weird to train for 5 min and pop up. I'm cool with whatever, just wanted to know your preference (also I happen to be holding some endure element scrolls that the party might want hehe)
