Okay, I'm still kind of interested in this, although I just looked at d20herosrd.com and realized I'm totally lost in this system...

I have no idea how to create a character on my own, so I suppose I'll post the idea I'm working with for right now and see if you're nice enough to help me out :)

I'm not sure on a name yet, but I can't get the idea of a Gambit-like character out of my head. Looking over the different powers on the site, I only found a few that I was interested in... Namely Blast, Concealment, Energy Control, Healing, and Movement.

Basically what I'm thinking of is an urban vigilante hero kinda guy with semi-mystical powers. The Energy Control would be radiation, and whether I have to take it AND Blast to deal ranged damage with it, I'm not sure... Anyway, the Concealment would be against all senses other than tactile, but with the blending flaw. The Healing would be as fast as I'm allowed to make it (unsure of how it works exactly, and how many times I can reduce the action), but self-only. For Movement, I'm going with Safe Fall and Wall Crawling, 2 ranks.

Beyond that, I'm clueless as to how to actually MAKE the character... Is this idea any good, or doable?

I also wrote up Lectra but I think Luci's a little more together. Things are subject to change and suggestions are welcome. It's been awhile since I built a M&M character so I won't pretend I came up with the best way to reflect her powers (although I think I got most of it -- biggest question as to whether I should switch her Deflect ability to Shield or Force Field -- the idea is that she can surround herself with flame which helps stop incoming attacks, and I think Deflect reflects it best as the fire slows or burns up missiles and the like).


The group where of the Knights of Califea, Space was a nice place and the old keep had been in there hands some 30 years, the room was old 800 years or more, back when the this was Muslim land its walls hand been changes to complex inter locking tiles. The two men stood looking at the designs they had been there some time, at last one said.

Knight1: "Do you think they will send some one?"
Knight2: "We used the same Channels as last time we can only hope"
Knight1: "That was over 60 years ago, will they still work?"
Knight2: "One thing we know about them is time is no barrier, lets hope thats true."

@Deathquaker: Interesting evil GM grin eliciting choice. Don't worry, as I said, Lectra had reasons for eliciting evil GM grins, too. A quick glance indicates that converting Luci to M&M 3 should be smooth.

@Onyx: I don't mean to pick on you, but you dropped one of the funniest typos I've seen in days in that last post. Setting up a recurring villains league called the Genitalmen would probably get us in trouble with the moderators.

@Loup: Your concept looks a little scattered to me. It might make more sense if you could tell me what aspects of the are most important. Blast is generic ranged damage. You could do damage with energy control, but it would require adding the damage effect to the energy control and I don't know how much it would cost relative to getting two separate powers.

If it would double the cost of the power that would be way too expensive. There's no other way to do it? I mean, if he pushes people and they remember it afterward he'd have to kill everyone he pushed. Is there a separate power that could erase memories? Or like afflict unaware or something?

I am still fiddling around with a few concepts, but as you know I tend to spend a lot of time on that before revealing what I want to play ;)

Could we handle it the way they do in most comics/shows where I can just command them not to remember it afterward? The memory would still be there, and could be retrieved somehow later, but there would be a mental block. That creates evil GM grin plot possibilities, no?

The way I read the subtle modifier, if you buy 2 levels of it, the target won't know what hit them. At the second degree "Compelled" they'd know they were being controlled, but wouldn't know you were the puppet master. So the mind control sample I posted would look like this:

Mind Control: Perception Range Cumulative Subtle 2 Affliction 6 (Resisted by Will; Dazed, Compelled, Controlled) • 26 points

EDIT: Curses, ninja'd again. An order to forget might work. The target would have to be at the controlled level to pull it off. Throw in the possibility of a Will DC to remember later if they encounter a trigger.

@Black Dow: This version takes the "Henge" build and breaks it into two bits. The earth bending druid that has spell like abilities and a human form and an alternative form Menhir. Everything that isn't in the alternate power is available in both forms. The alternate is extra stuff that you get by using a move action to turn into Rocky (sorry, that pun needed to be used.)

The way I was told is that there really is no way to make a permanent change to another character, afflictions for example expire soon after combat etc. It was one of the big problems I had when I made Esoteric, I pretty settled for implying an effect was permanent without saying it was with the intend of letting minion types being permanently effected while hero types not so much.

As for not telling they been effected etc. that's insidious while subtle is making an obvious power less obvious (an invisible flame blast for example). in other words Insidious hides the result, subtle hides the effect causing the result.


OK. Think I've got the Insidious/Subtle thing. So if we added Insidious to the mind control example, that would make it 27PP. And there's no way to make them permanently forget, but there would be nothing for them to remember?

So I've been looking through the hero 20 site, & it seems the crime fighter archetype ppretty closely models what I envisioned.

having played M&M1 a lot and been a play tester back then I know what they would say. what your asking is another power, "Mind wipe" that has a limit of only working on some one you have mind controlled and only that time they where under control.

You could do this as an alt power to the main one
any adding slow fade to the main power and have memory wipe as the alt
with the limit it takes move action to match the fade and they get a roll to save to remember so what your mine wipe dos is set up a dc for that time as a memory, in that way things are vague but not lost

thats how i would do it

Speaking an additional language cost 1 pp per language so shouldn't be a problem.

That looks pretty good. I may play with it a bit but the build is solid. I will still wait for any suggestions from robertness just to see if I want to do anything else with it.

As to the name, that is not where I drew it from. Marcus Cole is a character in Babylon 5. I will wait and see what robertness says about my keeping the name.

I think that having a hatred towards bullets would be a bit strange. Course he already hates bullies so that could work too. :-P


well you were the one that wanted it, though I think it would be more natural to have that hatred towards firearms or from the background alcohol or chemical waste dumping.

Robertness: I suppose the most important powers concept-wise are generating blasts of radiation, though not necessarily the way Gambit does (he charges objects then flings them--I almost like just blasting foes with it more). The healing is second; the other stuff is just extras I found interesting, I suppose.

I can honestly play just about anything to some extent, though, so if the group needs a stealth or skill monkey more than a blaster, I'm cool with whatever seems good and workable.

Had a PC in COH/V called "GCV Gray Area" did well but left when the game down load got silly size, just like Eve online mad size.

I play this now to get my writing and spelling better.

There was a fair deal but really it was more patching then new stuff, the entire game is what? 9GB? compared to SWTOR at 20+ that is hardly any size at all.

I have a few comments.

You can save 2pp by dropping fortitude modifier from 9 to 7, this will make no difference since it trades off with Will which is ten so the extra two ranks are "wasted".

The sheet has spend 16 equipment points, however you have equipment 4 which gives you 20 equipment point... consider dropping an item or picking up a few more or even dropping a couple of items to get a customized utility belt.

You can gain a bit more initiative by raising agility by 6 to 9, lowering Acrobatics and Stealth to 2 ranks and dodge by 6 points to 1. This gives you the exact same result except your initiative is now +13 you could even "drop" improved initiative for a few extra ranks for skills, equipment or powers and still have a net gain. I suggest adding them to your hitting powers as an accurate extra.

You need another Complication, and it has to be a motivation.

The power Fire Shield is rather underpowered as it is, it replaces active defences so when you use that you go from dodge/parry (+10) 20 to Fire Shield (3 ranks) 13 to 23 at best that is a minor increase on average a huge loss.

I recommend that the blast power should be increase to a 10 to make it more effective.

I hope I haven't been too harsh.

That makes 14 ranks of toughness impervious and I didn't use this power at all:

Impervious Defense: Impervious Toughness 1

The idea is that any attack of power 7 or less (say Luci Lopez crossbow (+3) or Fire Blast (+7) or a marine's assault rifle (+5) will simply fail to affect you, however should the marine from before get mad and uses his rocket launcher (+10) you would be forced to make a save as normal (DC 25, meaning you have to roll 11 or better).

It is to replace your immunity bullets and explosions and arrows and bludgeon and so on attacks (which were rulewise problematic especially explosions since that would more or less be at least a 20 point immunity in itself).


Ok, so where do I add just impervious? All I see is the Impervious Defense.

How do I add it in Hero Lab? Step by step would be very nice.


open protection, add extra, it's at the very top in green. That should automatically give you the 13 ranks for the protection aspect, then just increase (by pressing the arrow next to the rank indicator) to add one more rank. Impervious is not an independent power.

After reviewing that character, I am going to try a different concept because your version is 1000 times better than anything I could have come up with. Playing my crappy version would be like painting a cheap imitation of the Mona Lisa on my wall in crayon.

For Robertness:

I am switching my character concept from the gothic mystic, Allan Lovecraft, to a character I intend to call Shadow Knight. He will be a darkness/fear power based character. A former, police officer who has now taken to vigilantism. He has exclusively dealt with "normal" types of antagonists, so his exposure to the Occult/Supernatural types in your campaign will definitely throw him for a loop.


Robertness - see Menhir as French Canadian in origin. He is/was a respected expert in Celtic Archaeology, particularly of sacred stones and traditions of Europe.

Uncovered the powers of the earth whilst on a site; moved back to the great outdoors and solitude of Canada to explore and commune with his new found abilities.

Now in the position where he see's his place in nature as one of protector and emissary he seeks to promote enviromentalism, his faith in the Earth Spirit and punishing those who upset the balance and seek to damage further the already fragile eco-spirit of the planet.

This may bring him into conflict with authorities, but as an representative of the very force of nature he would also seek to be a postive role model; educate, inform, teach and if necessary protect and punish...

Would also provide an interesting counterpoint to any tech heavy heroes... :)

Erm thank you for the praise, but you don't have to switch concept as the game he is from is rather dead (a shame because he was fun to play) and even if it wasn't that was not for the same game. I am certainly not going to propose him for this, after all we are going to fight the monsters not be them.

Looks good! Would be nice to max out her bonus to hit on her fire blast, would that be possible? Looks like the validation report says her Fortitude is too high, so I'd be willing to lower that and multiply the accurate feat on the Fire Blast. Thanks for taking the time to make the conversion.

Validation report also says she needs a second complication -- do you require that? If so, I'll think about what that could be.

Acrobatics and Athletics -- I assume the former is balancing and tumbling and they did climbing and jumping with athletics? If so, maybe pop Acrobatics down to 10 and raise Athletics to 7.

Yes according to MnM3e rules you have to have at least two (you can have more) and one needs to be your motivation.

I own the 2nd edition rulebook but have never actually played in a game with them (or 3rd edition, either), so I may have made an honest mistake somewhere in the process.

I wasn't sure whether I could use Close Combat skill for my hero's 3 power array of touch attacks or if I would need to use the more powerful (and expensive) Close Attack advantage to provide the bonus for all 3 powers. Naturally, I chose the cheaper option, but please let me know if I need to buy the advantage to cover all 3 alt attacks.

If everything seems okay, I will get to work on the background/miscellaneous stuff (complications, backstory, origin, etc.).

In the GM kit there is this random generator of characters to people learning the system, there are examples in that were you get range combat skill for all powers in an array, I don't see why not here, another way is getting the accurate extra on each power in the array, it is the same cost as the skill.

Warpath (background):
* War....

* War is hell.

Was the first thing displayed on the HUD, it was believable, the surroundings certainly gave it credit, twisted and rusted metal all around, a pair of cars stacked one on top of another, one missed a wheel the other the motor and both looked to have been standing here for a couple of years.

The text on the HUD faded and information faded in, displaying the time 01:13:57 / 03 June / 2010, in the lower left corner a compass showed that the facing was almost straight south with a few degree to the west as well as a mini map of the immediate area. On the center of the HUD information appeared telling that the two cars were 7.85m distant, while on the side of the display several options for engagement were presented as well as pathing options for approach, the information shifted as the view changed and the sky came into view, the ranging information gave a simple dash display that the object of focus was out of bounds information popped up claiming the object in sight was the moon. A metallic hand appeared before the HUD, the camouflage coloring scheme in green and brown was burnt and mostly gone in most places and several holes, the HUD concluded were signs of damage to the unit. The four fingered hand closed slowly as if grabbing the moon, the last finger hang loosely on a thin cable slightly down and to the side. Another shift in perspective back to the cars revealed little new but a message on the HUD blinked "Status Report"

The Status report unfolded with a schematic of a humanoid female figure and several damage indicators and a detail list of failures and indicators of lost functionality came to view, at the end suggested that immediate repair was required and that the self repair module was damaged, then the message was dismissed and replaced by a new screen detailing data files and sub folders, that were quickly sorted through until one called history popped up. The folder was empty except for one filed that was created at 01:12:09 / 03 June / 2010. Closing the folders and returning to the status report which had been updated several times since it had last been viewed, the status report had finally been able to ascertain that it was giving a status report on Unit Designation: Wrath Assault Robot or W.A.R.

War looked down itself herself? and saw that its body had suffered massive damage; huge chunks were missing from the chassis as well as the left arm. There didn't seem to be any repair stations nearby so War walked to the cars, ripping a partly smashed laptop out from between some wire that had partially concealed it, and started to repair itself.

War headed away from where she, yes definitely she according to internal matrixes, had regained consciousness, the bodywork still needed a new paintjob but it was serviceable, the best part had been that the self repair system had been reestablished, and while it couldn't repair systems completely missing a lot of minor internal and more important major software errors, however most if not all data except the hardware had been lost, wiped at some point or lost due to loss of memory storage. A few files had been recovered and displayed visual stills of things falling apart in sprays of red it a setting of much green and brown and War had not found any reason for their preservation and had simply achieved them so that they at a later date could be integrated in a database that would make up her past before reactivation.

A few others walked the raised stone walkway, these others seemed to give War an unappreciated amount of attention, the steel carriages on the concrete path just 1.14m to her left, luckily just rushed by ignoring her.
Objective: Observation and integration.

This objective was prudent until War could get her bearing but integration was proving... problematic. The concrete jungle, that according to a sign was named San Francisco, seemed to be populated by two legged organics whom looked very much like War, they also had several HUD displays behind windows that displayed a well of information but little did the organics seem to pay attention to it instead just rushing by, and a angry organic had shouted at War when she had opened the window to watch the HUD to see what had caught the one organic she spotted that had paid attention to it. This was the final straw and War sought instead to hide from the higher wavelengths of vision as these seemed to be the preference of the organic. The hiding place was a narrow path between a pair of 15.24m tall buildings of identical construction. A grumble sounded from where she had sat her foot down through a cardboard box and to her amazement an organic was sleeping here, the organic stood up and blinked at her for several moments then took a bottle and a small bag and wandered out the alley into the street. War saw to her amazement that the organic had managed something she could not; hide in plain sight for it was being ignored by the other organics. War followed for a bit and while she drew attention of all the other organics the organic she had stepped on was completely ignored.

The organic had been able to hide due to his disguise, this was the conclusion of the data analyzes were displayed on the HUD. The logical step was then to acquire a similar disguise and one had been on display on the path War had taken earlier while observing the organic. It took only 9m 52s to go to the windows which had the clothing behind it, above the store it said “Jones’”, as there were no immediate way to open the large window, War decided the easiest way was simply to break the glass, with a command she enabled her close combat protocol as it seemed the most efficient at the range and carefully ripped the wall from around the window then removed the window carefully. A bell started to ring probably reporting that the window was missing, War quickly searched and found the items she needed then stepped back out replacing the window into the frame and headed away from the sight.

War had spent almost an entire hour watching the HUDs behind a large window, these HUDs have been re-designated: Flatscreen/TV/Television/Widescreen/Monitor/Plasma Screen. Their purpose was information and for entertainment, Organics according the HUDs - error TVs - enjoyed watching the information. More importantly according to a informational report/commercial War was something organics did to kill each other for no apparent reason, though those taking part in the war (soldiers) were to protect and serve the country from all enemies foreign and domestic so that other organics (civilians) could walk down the street safely. War didn’t see any correlation between her current self and War, but however she had an objective to relearn her true self so the Unit re-designated itself Warpath, to indicate her mission.

Warpath drew her black fedora hat down close over her head to avoid looks, then buried her hands in her pocket heading home after having turned in a number of bottles she had found in trashcans and in the park in return for a bit of money. Her home now was an old abandon building that several homeless people used, according to the TV commercials it wasn’t very good compared to normal but Warpath could live with it and she spend most of her time in the library anyway trying to learn what she could about the world so she could interact with it in a suitable manner, not that it was easy humans were very illogical creatures. From an alley, that was 27.01m away a gunshot echoed and a human (male) cried out from the pain in a high pitched voice, Warpath walked over to see what was happened, she was unsure what was going on, it was generally frowned on to carry guns and even more so to use them on others. In the alley a group of four young men with (nearly) identical bandana and jacket stood and laughed down at a younger human whom was clutching his leg while lying on the ground, one of the attackers said, “See that Danni that’s what happen when you don’t do as you are told, all you had to do was give us your father’s keys to the store”. “He took it with him Jake!” the boy sobbed but the boy called Jake laughed, “To bad for you, this was your final chance and you blew it, now you have to repay us with the most precious thing you have, your pathetic life!”. One of the other attackers spoke out, “Hey Jake, there is a dude watching.” To this Jake spat out, “Get him then we will finish the kid, no witnesses.” The three other attackers pulled out guns and one of them fired at Warpath took a step back them tilted her head slightly a small video clip ran in the lower right corner of the HUD, while threat and damage assessment was displayed above, the video was one she had seen when she just gotten to the city basically it was a war movie where a bunch of recruits swear their oaths to protect and serve the country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Warpath looked at the four attackers who gapped at her, for not reacting to getting shot, the four attackers must be enemies of the peace and quiet she had heard so much about and usually experienced, the boy on the ground was clearly a civilian whom was being threaten and she was Warpath build for war, finally she never really had a chance to test out her weaponry after she gotten it repaired. The leader Jake swore and pointed his own gun at Warpath and shoot her 6 times in the chest, she staggered back a step from the impacts then looked up her HUD telling her the most effective method of destroying them was a rocket assault, Warpath rejected the solution as it could cause damage to the civilian and picked Taser, two highly charged darts fired from the barrel that rip her jacket as it popped out of her arm and they imbedded themselves in Jake who shook violently before falling unconscious to the ground. His three friends cried out and two of them ran while the last charged her with a baseball bat, Warpath activated her close combat protocol and the fiber muscles charged up to full strength, she grabbed the swinging bat and crushed it then punched the man in the face sending him flying backwards into a wall and with that the fight was over. Warpath tied up the two while using their cellphone to call the cops and an ambulance for Danni who had passed out from blood loss. Warpath left and had a new purpose, testing her weapons / protecting the civilians.

Warpath looked down at the would be rapist, watching his unconscious form while listening to the high school girl thank her for saving her, when a pair of men wearing black business suits and what Warpath had come to know as “serious and stern expression”. “We have been watching you for some time and based on your abilities would like to extend you an offer.”

Dear Diary

So much have happened and now I sit here trying once again to start writing a diary, I guess what I mostly need is an outlet for this entire mess and I seriously doubt the others will find it very amusing if I start posting a blog, so let us get started on my analog blog for my eyes only.

I used attend SFSU that’s the state university, I had decent enough grades in my field which was Creative Writing, I admit I had no idea what I wanted to do to it and it wasn’t really the reason I was there, rather I was there on an Track Scholarship, because I was really good at track and field it all pretty much boils down to the fact I love to run, it makes me feel free and I feel like I can outrun all my problems for a brief time anyway.
It all started with a huge argument between me and by then boyfriend Danni Colby, Danni was sweet and a year younger than me, which I suppose was a little unusual but we had grown up together and well things just happened little by little. Back to the story, We had been fighting over the new crowd Danni was hanging out with they were a bad bunch especially Jake Thornton, a real S.O.B. if there ever was one, anyway our argument ended with me storming out and slamming the door after me, just to show just how frustrated I was with the whole thing, Danni’s parents Michelle and Bill called after me asking if everything was fine, I don’t think they expected a reply and well they didn’t get one either instead I stormed home put on my favorite sneakers and started running to cool down.
On the way I run through a few green areas mostly people use them to walk dogs and the like, I also usually run through a rather cool tunnel where the inside walls have been painted in graffiti in an Eldorado of bright colors, just at the end there is a small lake where there usually are tied a few rowboats up to an old pier, it’s all quite nice. Not many people were out, but there was a decent amount of traffic, though a couple of jocks were standing in the tunnel smoking cigarettes like it was the coolest thing EVER, I really hate the smell but whatever I would be past them quickly and then I could easily outrun the smell of tobacco and tar from the stink sticks, but just as I passed them one of them pushed me into the traffic lain! I landed hard and was a bit dazed I could hear them run off and one of them sounded almost like Jake? Probably just my imagination since I hated that guy, I must have hit my head when I feel because it felt like forever before I reacted and that was when an 18-wheeler was blearing its horn at me, I manage to just get onto the side walk in time to avoid it. The trucker stopped and got out, he looked concerned and I managed to stagger towards him trying to show that I was okay, but I had a big bump on my head, I leaned against the truck while he briefly expressed his concern and all that jazz. When we and by wee I mean he, had made sure I was okay I pushed myself away the 18-wheelers carriage, which was a flat carriage with blue plastic covering something square I couldn’t see, but when my hand touched the carriage something bite my hand, I yelped and the guy fussed for a bit but there was only a small bite mark, he advised me to seek a doctor, then processed to give me a card with his cellphone and offered to drive me to the hospital, I refused but he gave me a Jackson and told me to use it for a taxi there, I just smiled and waved him away feeling sick.
I didn’t go to the doctor until the next day and the doctor could find nothing wrong with me except a small concussion, he gave me a tetanus shot and another for rabies just in case, took a few blood samples for the lab and told me to call him again if it worsen before he got the results from the test. I spend the rest of the day home feeling a bit sick from the shots but otherwise fine. The next day I was really really sick, I woke up with a sudden urge to baff and ran to have a long a serious conversation in the porcelain phone. The next few weeks were a bit of a blur honestly, I was in the hospital for the entire time but eventually I got better though they weren’t sure what was wrong with me, they did advice me to take it easy, but I was going out of my skin because I felt stiff from not having been out running or excising at all for the entire time. However I stayed home for the next week as well, since I seemed to get a screaming headache from the sun and it just got worse, eventually I called Danni but when a girl picked up the phone giggling shouting to Danni that he should get up and put on some clothes while she heard who it was I just hang up on him.
Things went downhill from there the doctor had no idea what was wrong and started claiming I was suffering from depression from the incident and some other babble poop, I stopped consulting him, and eventually I started running again, but at night because well I could stand to be outside in the dark, also people wouldn’t so clearly see that I had problem standing correct and hunched over. The first thing I learnt was I hadn’t lost my edge, but oh girl was I in for a surprise! Because things had changed eventually it hurt to stand up straight instead I hunched down almost on all four and I did actually start running on all four, so embarrassing (and cause for gloves even if my skin seem to harden a bit) and I could smell gods, you wouldn’t believe how sharp my sense of smell was it was like a second pair of eyes, heck I could even run and jump faster than ever before!
Why did I start to go after dark to help people or rather to beat up thieves and such? Well I guess it started when Danni, my ex, had been shot by the gang he had been trying to enter, the idiot had been having sex with the gang leader’s 14 year old sister Linda. Guess who the gang leader was? You guessed it Jake “Push people out in front of traffic” Thornton, the police caught him the same day he did it and another of his gang, but the rest escaped Danni hadn’t told anybody who had shot him but I had a good idea where to start looking and I did, and after some creative persuasion in which I demonstrated my super strength (yes I have that as well I can bench-press a Buick no sweat) and the snitch I had my hands on a tomboy they called “Killer” gave me the rundown while sobbing and snot ran down her face, disgusting! Anyway I found the other two and I shadowed them until I caught them dealing drugs, at which point I took a few photos of them doing that with my spiffy cool digital camera, then I followed them to a secluded spot and beat the hell out of them then tied them up with some wire and send the police an MMS with the pictures of them dealing and a location of where we were, I stayed around and watched from the shadow until the police had taken them away and then I headed off to the second objective. There is this saying about women and hell you know and Danni soon learnt that when I send the police some more photos this time of Danni having sex with Linda “I am a slut in training” Thornton and well there was a boy that now had some hard questions to answer (insert my evil grin here).
Now these days I have contact to this group called the Knights of Califea, I am a bit concerned I am not sure they play with a full deck and what they play with I am pretty sure they are not showing me!

Anyway I got to run, my pizza is done from the smell of it and the Star Wars radio drama is just about to start, you know the one from 81’ and I just love that so can’t miss it. Kiss and hugs from Tiana “Night Runner” Brown (and yes Tiana like the princess from the The Princess and the Frog).

Motivation: Thrills - Zys is a bored teenager and feels a great need to have soemthing, anything happens be it the latest techno rave or beating up monsters.
Prejudice - Zys isn't human and is clearly not human, while her general shape is human, her skin is grey and her eyes are solid white energy. Being that radical different tend to make people treat her different and mistrust her.

Male voice: We have very little in our files on her; I think she would be a liability.
Female voice: She could be an asset, especially given the fact she seems to be unmoved by just about anything thrown at her.
Male voice: That is part of the problem she is too reckless, and she has issues with authority.
Female voice: She can however take down a dragon without support.
Male voice: That was a lucky break, purely coincidence.
Female voice: You mean when she hit it over the head with an APC?
Male voice: well . . . it was on the ground and besides she is far too young for such work!
Female voice: She knows how to survive; she survived on the street for several years.
Male voice: that is one of the things that concern me, a petty thief and she is uneducated, besides I am sure she is holding back, where does she come from?
Female voice: According to our records, the first we heard of her is from near the Allman’s Research facility before it imploded.
Male voice: only because she was running around naked, decent young girls don’t do run around without clothes on.
Female voice: So it is alright to run around naked if you are a man? Typical.
Male voice: That is not what I said… meant. It has nothing to do with her gender. She is a thrill seeker and those get their team killed, they are simply not careful enough.
Female voice: She is also a teleporter.
Male voice: She does not have what it takes I cannot recommend her.
Female voice: You are being irrational.
Male voice: besides she is not human, she is a creature, she should be vanquished.
Female voice: and now we come to the real reason, I can’t believe that is your reason? Seriously you are a racist!
Male voice: I don’t care if she is white, colored or a china man, she is not human and she eats her surroundings.
Female voice: Chinaman? Gods you are such a racist and need to get your head back into modern age.
Male voice: She eats her surroundings, everything she touches.
Female voice: She doesn’t eat it, it is absorbed into her form and it heals her, it’s a powerful survival strategy.
Male voice: Next thing you want us to accept werewolves, after all they are human most of the time and puppies the rest, this is insane; we are fighting to protect humanity, that’s a job for humans.
Female voice: I wonder what the chapter master would say to that statement.
Male voice: I… Fine whatever, do what you want, but I will not take responsibility.

Complications
Motivation (Responsibility): Roman feels responsible for the wellbeing of others after he caused the death of his highschool girlfriend.

Reputation: Roman has a reputation as a maverick, doing what he thinks is best rather than following the book. He often leaves a lot of mess to clean up in his quests to do 'good'.

Background:
Roman Cain first realized he was different from other people in the back seat of his 1990 Dodge Spirit. He was 17 years old and about to make it to to 'home base' with his highschool sweetheart, Amanda. As the heat was reaching its peak he could suddenly hear everything she was thinking. Freaked out by this he told her to stop and she did so without even a response. She just sat there staring blankly. He fled the car scared and confused. The next day his girlfriend broke up with him over the phone, and refused to talk to him. As she was his first love, he was devastated.

Over the next few days he figured out that he now had the ability to hear people's thoughts, and to compel them to do what he wanted. He also figured out that they couldn't remember anything when under his compulsions. At first he abused the power, forcing his teachers to give him As on his schoolwork, and taking whatever he wanted from stores without paying. He even used his ability on his parents whenever he didn't like the way they were treating him. One day he decided that he wanted Amanda back, so he cornered her after school and used his powers to make her "agree" to go out with him again. This went on for a few days, Roman so happy to be back with her that he was blind to her confusion. One day she didn't come to school, and wouldn't answer her phone. Worried about her, he went to her house after school and let himself in. He found her in the bathtub with her wrists slit. That day he nearly lost his mind. He ran away from home and lived on the streets for a few weeks, wracked with terrible guilt over what he'd done. He vowed never to compel someone again, except in self defense or in defense of the life of another.
I an attempt to make amends for the bad he'd done, he finished his senior year out and then went to college to study criminology. After graduating he landed a job in SFPD and quickly worked his way up to detective. His 100% case closure rate and his reputation for always knowing things that he shouldn't attracted the attention of the Knights of Claifea. They invited him to join, and excited by the prospect of working with other 'abnormal' people to do good in the world, he agreed. He's been assisting them as needed ever since.

Personality:
A good looking man with a high IQ and the ability to read minds, Roman is naturally arrogant. He's kind to others and treats them with respect, but he always manages to come off as seeing himself in a superior light. He loves the ladies, and considers himself somewhat of a gift to them. He after all, always knows how they're feeling. Despite his shortcomings, he's serious and always tries to live up to his responsibilities. He's also fanatically loyal to those he cares about, willing to do anything for them.

I know you asked for Zouron and/or robertness for their input, but I will butt in to provide some immediate feedback on the "easier" stuff...

1) Your abilities total 17 points and should cost 34 pp not 30.
2) You don't put points directly onto the Toughness defense. You must buy a power effect like Protection or an advantage like Defensive Roll.
3) Your calculations for your skills are correct, but those skill levels are pretty low. You may find that you have a hard time accomplishing much with skills that low. At PL10 you are allowed to have skill ranks as high as +20.
4) I think there are some issues with the costs for your powers but I will leave that up to the experts to advise.

I hope you don't take offense with my comments. I like your character concept a lot, btw.
