Hmm? Somebody whae daesnae ken me? I'll change that!

Not giving the large one overmuch mind Glorfin intends to press on, adding "The druid should not be disturbed if he is in ritual, we can always ken the result of his work tonight after we return."

Your trek back to the moathouse is wet, but uneventful. About two miles outside of town, the weather tapers off and the blazing sun that you have gotten used to appears from behind what is essentially a wall of clouds.

When you arrive, your boots are caked in a thick layer of dried mud which is slowly breaking off as you walk. Other then your footsteps from the prior day across the courtyard, you do not see and new tracks. The spider is still lying dead in its tower and when you get there, the slain bandits are where you left them.

So - what next? There are passages leading off of the large entry area to the west and south. And there is an alcove in the northwest corner of the room which appears to lead to a set of stairs down.

"We need to bury those bandits and the spider, or it will attract carrion - to say nothing of making the place smell even worse. I'm sure Tybek will be a ready volunteer, given how much he complains of the animals' droppings," says Maegge as they re-enter the moathouse.

"The draw to scavengers is only a concern if we intend to stay here... I would counsel that we push on below... ken if the ground is dangerous or not."

He indicates the alcove to the Northwest "I would suggest we begin there."

For clarity, shield is borne and warhammer is in hand.

"Aye, Ahh agree wid Glorfin. I dannae need tae be spendin mae time diggin. Mebbae we could jist throw the bodies in the moat or some such thing. "

Moving across the large area, Tybek looks around for some more treasure or creatures. He makes the following suggestion to any who will listen to him.

"Mebbae we should clear oot this moathouse on this level b'fore we descend doon any stairs. How does this passage tae the west look tae all o' yae?"

With no objections, Tybek will investigate the passageway to the west, searching for traps as he goes.

As you looks down the hallway, it is dark with your torches and lamps lighting it, but showing numerous cobwebs which make it apparent that if this hallway is used, it is not used frequently. The hallway appears to be about 30' long with two doors on the left and one on the right. There appears to be a rotted set of double doors at the end of the hall.

As Tybek begins to move quietly down the hall, he suddenly hears the sound of footsteps. However, the moment he stops, the footsteps stop as well.

Dwarf Rogue 3 (hp: 31/31, AC 18, Touch 14, Flat 14, Perception +7 (+9 Traps), Stealth +13)

Tybek, falling into his rogue ways, stops silently and listens carefully. He places his finger to his lips and slowly pulls out his battleaxe. He then takes a step and stops and tries to catch the footsteps and pinpoint where they are coming from.

He slowly and catlike approaches the first of the two doors on the left, modeling how he would like the others to proceed. He then listens carefully at each of the the doors.

As soon as Tybek and Glorfin carefully start to move again, you once again hear the steps. But they are quieter this time. With the echoes in the building, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly where the sound of the steps are coming from.

While Maegge's shout of "Echo" does not echo, you continue to hear the footsteps whenever you move.

After the dwarven discussion has been worked out including some chest bumping and two rounds of beard wrestling both of which resulted in draws, Tybek listens at the doors. Neither of the doors on the left reveal anything, but he does hear what sounds like a skittering sound behind the door on the right. At the same time, Braden the Brave lobs a glob of acid at the bug, but his aim is thrown off when he notices that Tybek has some breakfast stored in his unkept beard. Ranim also joins the party by doing a seductive dance, which as with most of her dances, is completely out of place, and likely inappropriate for the battlefield, but nonetheless lifts the spirits of her male companions.
