Round eleven (I checked, it could even be correct) 1 of 3 nauseous

Pollux - you're nauseated, hence move action only.

Just got to stay alive until everyone else gets involved. Once they get here this wizard is going down in short order.. Tal keeps telling himself although he is not sure of the state of his companions and it may be that he will have to save them once the wizard is finished.

Unfortunatly, we are all 20 feet up in the air, so we might have to drop for 2d6

That is what channeled healing is for. That or you are all 5th level and can take the 12 points if need be. You can voluntarily jump to reduce it by 10 ft and an acrobatics to reduce the rest.

Good points, thanks.

Apparently nauseated and hallucinating. Thanks for the catch Cal. So basically nothing different. Please ignore the misguided ranting person on the ladder, oh and Pollux as well.

No action this round.

"Hah!" The wizard exclaims as he vanishes out of sight once more the spiritual weapon failing to find its mark.

He appears once again on the center podium pumping his arms and strutting around.

The crowd eats it up.

With Tal's extended reach he should be able to pick up both sword and tower shield and 5ft step adjacent to the wall. If possible that is what he does.

The wizard's reverie is cut short by Trevor's death laser. Responding in kind the wizard shoots off an arrow of pure acid and misses by a long shot (lucky break there otherwise trevor would be in bad shape I think).

The crowd gets more and more excited and even slightly out of control as trevor enters the fray.

No one seems to notice Pollux singing a subversive tune.

Yea I get to do something next round!

The wizard is going to be in trouble now that 2 of the spell casters are up and running.

Rat, probably

OOC musings w/ Tal:
Fight was never an existential challenge. He wasted spells on the lemures. Without haste or other mass aid spells they were pretty much window dressing. They just could not hit. And with most of the high level spells spent summoning targets the big bad really does not have enough oomph left to take on 4 characters. He misjudged you as the primary threat so we in the cage avoided the glitter bomb which doomed him. Action economy is a cruel mistress.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

musings returned:

I completely agree with your assessment. The lemures while numerous were not that much of a threat without buffs. Once he abandoned the lemures and started going after us is when the real combat began. That is why I was hoping to hav him concentrate on me while the rest of you got out of the cloud, recouperated, and avoided other AoE spells like the glitterdust. I just hope that all future encounters are like this. I draw the attention as a pure melee tank with high aC and decent saves and hp while you three do all the real work. The benefit with action economy will only get better for us once Castor can start casting spells from scrolls. Does Tal trust Castor enough though to willingly let him target Tal with spells?

This fight should be over in short order unless he is 3 levels higher than we expect and hasn't touched his highest level spells at all. Of course if this is the case then the fight might be over anyways with him winning.

On a side note, what are you spending all of your winnings on assuming of course that we do win this?

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Musings:
We can relatively easily figure out his level.
Caldazar's sat on his hands for six rounds by my count - and it's a 1 round per level spell.

musings:

My guess is that it will have another 2 round of existence to make him 8th level. We know he has stone skin up which makes him at least 7th level to cast 4th level spells.

Rat, probably

Musings:
I suppose we could count spells cast and reverse engineer that way, but that sounds too much like work. I am just glad he chose lemures as his signature summons. His flood the field tactic would have worked much better with wolves and the feral speech discovery. Imagining 4-5 aid others and a dirty trick. Then trip, then disarm. Lemures do not have the brain power for tactics.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Musings:
Or he could've just puked up a swarm and Tal would've been proper fecked.

Rat, probably

musings:
You said it. I am looking forward to the Raging Rubble/Vomit wasps combo pity you need to be CL 7 to pull it off. 2d6/round is less exciting by then.

Trevor's efforts are all but useless againts the well prepared champion.

The champion himself charges at Trevor and tries to bludgeon him with his staff an effort that merely bounces to the side of Trevor's armor.

Round 14 ish

A familiar cackling issues from the rag-a-bond shape dangling from the ladder.

An arm frees itself from the mass of gaberdine and a strangely soft voice says "...see everything."

Blindness Fort DC 16.

Male Orc Expert 5

The cloud dissipates adn caldazar can finally see the grudge match just outside the cage.

The wizard is surprisingly tough given how he shrugs off Tal's and Trevor's assault without much trouble. The crowd gets excited by this as they see their muscled champ weather the assault with appropriate aplomb.

As he raises his staff to stove Trevor's head in he cries out in sudden pain. "WHY DO I SEE EVERYTHING!?!? IT'S!! IT'S HORRIBLE!"

Out of desperation he swings in front of him missing Trevor completely.

GOOD GUYS UP!

MAP UPDATED!

You fool. You should have conceded defeat. Now you will pay for your treachery with your life just to appease the crowd.

Tal goes for the grapple again as it seems that the man is struck blind by Castor, I mean Pollux.

Step into flank and grapple attempt holding onto the sword still1d20 + 13 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 13 - 4 = 23

Hopefully this grapple works this time and Tal can pin him next time. If so then someone can coup d' gras him. /unless someone accepts his surrender but I don't think that is likely with this group.

Trevor aids Tal's attempt at wrestling down the wizard
Aid another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

I assume I've got another 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds of nauseation

Though the fog clears, Caldazar's bile has not yet receded.

Male Orc Expert 5

Just to make things go a little faster.

The wizard is grappled and blind and struggles furiously the crowd cheering for him to struggle and fight but Ta'ls grip is iron.

So, shall we ask the crowd for thumbs up or down?

Male Orc Expert 5

In the meantime Rance looks exceptionally nervous as you try to decide the champions fate.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Coughing through his nausea Caldazar suggests "Knock him out... we can barter with Rance for his life."

Trevor pommels the wizard down.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

NIce timing with the blindness Pollux.

Tal maintains his iron grip pinning the unfortunate soul to the ground all the while letting the spikes on his armor dig furrows into the man's back. Tal agrees with Caldazar's assessment but wants to make one last show to the crowd. Only once Trevor knocks him out does Tal release him and starts to tie him up with his own straps. Picking him up and climbing to the center stage Tal hoists the defeated above his head. When Rance indicates the bout is over then Tal will walk out with him still bound in his own harness hopefully to cheers and accolades from the crowd.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Assuming that they are victorious, Tal waits for RAnce to pay him his winnings. I remember that you said that bloodsport is not allowed. As promised there was no deaths other than the summoned riff-raff. I believe that completes our deal.

It was a risk, going directly for a SOL w/o misfortune & Evil Eye to help it stick. But Lemure Lad was not going to stick within 30' long enough for the full treatment. Kind of surprised he came with in range at all. Witches are not that rare after all. Hmmmm gives me an idea for a Wizard who imitates the trappings of a Witch to help keep the fighter types 30' feet away.

"No death...no Death.. Well not of anyone who matters. No death is the Westcrown way."

Pollux's sing-song voice drips onto the arena as he dangles by his knees from the ladder.

Trevor is just disgusted with the entire affair.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Caldazar grimly recovers his stomach... and makes a measure of how much Rance might be worth. As always the parts more than the whole...

Male Orc Expert 5

The crowd goes wild with applause after the fight, and their is a palpable sense of relief from Rance as he lets those inside the arena outside.

Dragging the body outside of the cage two rather large and uncreative looking men drag the wizard away.

"Right, that was almost a bloodier mess then normal. Thanks for not killing him in the arena, you'll find the statue you're looking for in the stands. Just look im up when the crowd leaves."

With that Rance turns to leave.

Trevor makes sure to gank the wizard's items before turning him over.

Let's just get the statue and get out of here.

Male Orc Expert 5

If Rance cares at all about Trevor's petty larceny he doesn't show it.

Trevor makes off with A nice looking mithral staff, a silver and black iron devil's head trophy, an amulet and a pearl.

Come back tomorrow. I've got a few things to set up, then we'll talk about the rules of the game and betting and all that."

This is assuming he hasn't paid us. If he has please skip to below.

Uh, Rance, I think you are forgetting something. Our winnings please. Some of us did place sizable bets with some long odds. 1000gp was my bet alone at the 12 to 1 odds. Pollux and I even have our receipt.

After collecting one way or the other, Tal shakes the man's hand. Thank you for doing business. It was a pleasure to wipe the smirk off of his face.
