dont know if the lemure moved to where Tal can use cleave. Hoping so and posting accordingly. Tark fell free to adjust it as necessary to make it work with the map. You can move Tal if needed to get the cleave to work.

Fort save 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 5 = 14 Thanks for the anti plague Trevor.

Tal laughs at the hideous tentacles creature in front of him. You think that with all those arms you would have at least gotten past the shield once. Instead you never even touched the shield you are so inept.

To accentuate his point Tal hauls back with the axe and tries to slash into the big guy. Hopefully the attack works and all of its anger is directed towards him from here on out and it ignores Caldazar.

Power expertise attack 1d20 + 4 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 = 12
Damage 2d6 + 5 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 + 1 + 4 = 15

If cleave is acceptable on the lemure that attacked Caldazar.

Power expertise attack 1d20 + 4 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 = 18
Damage 2d6 + 5 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (6, 5) + 5 + 1 + 4 = 21

There are not enough palms for my face. I think we are going to get murdered by dint of quantity of attacks coming our way instead of qaulity

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

it would help if I rolled higher than a 7 on my attacks. As for the death by many slices if the rolls are indicative of its progress it needs nat 20 to hit me on all but the first attack. If Pollux hex affects it then it would need multiple 20's on the same attack to hit. Even the first attack will need a 18 or better. War of attrition and once the lemures are gone we gang up on the big guy.

Perhaps some slung holy waters by Pollux

Rat, probably

Psssst! Remember you can re-roll one d20 a round and take the better Tin-man. The monkey is occasionally useful.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

i thought that was just a one time thing ok then...

Rolled the attack on the big guy 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Yu knowit would be easy to kill something if I actually rolled higher than a 10 during the first 3 rounds of a combat. This is ridiculous how low my attacks are every combat. Does the other group roll this low on such a consistent basis?

Nope. Greatsword wielding ranger took the OK out in two blows

Male Orc Expert 5

Pollux's misfortune grips into the duke of discomfort and his blows become more erratic and inaccuarate.

Caldazar destroys the lemure who tried to slay him and Tal's blow, aided by the yellow coated vagabond's bizarre charm manages to score a blow on the imperiator of innuendo.

Trevor's weapon proves more or less inneffective as it fails to penetrate the thick slimy hide of the devil thing.

Aso damn pollux for making me roll 10 times on this thing

The outcast king flails inneffectively at the armored Tal as a similiarly unfortunate Lemure waddles up to Caldazar and paws at him fruitlessly.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Yeah Pollux is really carrying this fight for you. Impressive given his noodly arms and Tal's massive blacksmith form

The combined smashing blows of Trevor and Caldazar connect to end the wretched existence of the last lemure as the horrid king of the vault attempts once more to rip apart the armored man as his own axe finally meets its mark. Only it's infernal resilience prevents the creature from taking more damage than any mortal man would.

The creature continues it's ineffective flails and seems to shrink before your eyes as it's confidence in itself starts to crack and seems on the verge of shattering.

Meanwhile behind pollux his shadow starts to look less like a man and more like something altogether completely inhuman....

Pollux has until tomorrow evening.

Male Orc Expert 5

Trevor's Scimitar and mace find their marks where Caldazar's morningstar fails.

Tal's own weapon finds its mark and scores another deep wound into the creature.

K I think I'm done rolling failed attacks.

After another series of blows on its form it lets out a deep moanful wail of frustration and anger before it slowly slumps down into the muck and dies.

Back to hell with you!

Trevor points to the stone chests. Those might be what we are after. let us abscond with them or open if possible.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Nice job Pollux with the hexes and Co. Maybe took a bit longer than the rebels but less carnage dealt to us.

Indeed Trevor, they very well might hold what we are looking for. Let us wait a minute to search it for traps though as this place if vile and insidious enough to have them trapped.

Take 20 to search for a result of 28.

If there are no traps Tal will open the chests to inspect what there is to be found. Likewise Tal will sch the pool as he know the creature held two longswords and who knows what else it may have had or dropped in the filth.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Caldazar looks down at his feet when the outcast king falls and grimaces, half gagging on the stench now that there was little to distract himself from it's full force. As Tal seems to be more inured to the visceral stench of effluent and bile... Caldazar retreats to firmer ground and awaits the bigger man's results.

Trevor examines the stone chests for any possible hazards. I have no skill with traps though, we will probably need to ask Areal if he can help us with that.

Detect magic on chests and examining

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Taking 20 on search for 31

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Milani (Preacher archetype) 4

Trevor wasn't around for that part... but Caldazar would probably puke blood, scoop it up, put it in a milkshake, drink it down and then puke it back up again before he asked Areal for 'help'

Beggers can't be choosers if we need to unlock the chests. Anyone up for tossing 50 gold into a kitty whenever we get a good haul so we can bankroll the 'Children of Westcrown' and arm them when it comes time to overthrow the running capital pigdog hellknights?

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

If the chests don't open Tal is not opposed to bashing them open with a large morningstar or axe if needs be. As for the dripping in sewage and bile, Tal has endured enough at the dinner table and afterwards that there is nothing lef tin his stomach to get sick on.

Save bashing for last since there might be breakables/explosives. :) Let us just gather everything we can and vamoose.

Male Orc Expert 5

Trevor detects magic both in and on one chest and merely on another but cannot identify the spells. The school on the chests is abjuration.

Trevor can find nothing of interest on the chests either.

The chests are made of thick hard stone and with their contents are rougly 500lbs. a piece and melded to the wall. This is a vault afterall.

The chests are locked.

Trevor is a sad panda.

Without a locksmith or magic we are not getting these open without a hammer and chisel, so it looks like we have to do it Tal's way.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Once finished with the search in e pool for the swords and anything else that can be found Tal returns to the chests. Seeing that they are still not open he looks at the group. it would seem as if they are not meant to leave here in tact. Should I try to open it forcibly if none can open it by picking the lock?

Str check to open 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 take 20 if there is time for a 24 as that roll was pathetic.

If that does not work and the group s ok with it Tal will take the axe to it to chip the chests open as they are too heavy for him to carry along with the chest found earlier.

Trevor will assist.

Str check aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Str check of 26 then...hopefully that works if not is it time to bash it open?

Male Orc Expert 5

Dost thou haveth a crowbar?

Tal pulls from the muck, a battleaxe, a wand, a ring, and a small crown. (just assuming detect magic aids that search).

The Chest's lid does not budge even a little.

Not I, looks like either a trip to the shops or a sad end to the quest. For want of a Disable Device skill

Male Orc Expert 5

There are a cuple of ways you haven't tried yet...

Let us examine these arcane scrolls we found from the haversack, perhaps Pollux or I can use them to help open the chest.

5 magic scrolls were found, detect magic on all of them. Oh wait, need read magic for that.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

does a axe count to pry it open with? If not then Tal will just be forced to drag the chests with him. Str of 19 means 350 carry capacity and drag 5x that amount unless...

Tal will search for a lock mechanism on each chest to see if there is an appropriate looking key hole. If so then he will start searching for said key.

Trevor or Pollux can you guys figure out if these items pulled fromthe muck are magical? If so then they might be able to help pen the chests.

Would that destroy what is inside of it as well? If so then we need to proceed otherwise by finding a key or dragging the out. I have tried to determine what type of key would fit it but no luck thus far. Perhaps others of you may find something that I may have missed.

Is Pollux able o try o determine the spells on the chest. Also I remember purchasing a scroll of knock with others tht our wizard at the time had. Is it possible tht we still have access to tht for Pollux to use to open one of the chests? Running out of ideas if we can't find what looks like a key hole and match a key to it and the spells are not identified.

we did find a scroll of Dispel Magic in the manor while we were...searching for the entrance to this place. Not a guerentee, but it might work.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

If Pollux were to identify the spells in place tht would give you an idea on how to proceed would it not. I would hate to have you waste a valuable resource on conjecture but it seems like that is all we have at this time. I say go ahead and use it myself but I am not t rained in such matters. The decision should be from you that know of such things.

Any chance rolling for him Tark or letting him use the scroll of knock since we haven't herd from him in a while?

Male Orc Expert 5

I'll give him until tomorrow evening. Gotta give Caldazar a chance to weigh in anyway.

ah indeed as Caldazar has spellcraft too. He might be able to identify the auras and tell us wht is going on. I guess patience then is in order. In that case I will check in tomorrow. Night all.

Went through the only posts to see if we missed something or forgot something and came up with this...

Stumped by his efforts to forcibly open the chests Tal sits down to ruminate on the situation. Clearly they were missing something. Thinking back to what they have all experienced while in the mayor's house and this twisted dungeon Tal recalls both the book of Drowned Jabe and the cursed scroll with strange names on it. Wasnt there more on that cursed scroll that we found. If I remember right there were some names or words on it. Would those be the key to opening the chests since we do not see a key hole. Either that or read the book quick as this thing could have been Drowned Jabe.

A little bit of a stretch, but this was all set up by a book found in part 1 so why not have this be part of a book found in part 2

Very well. Trevor rattles off the supposed passwords to the stone chests.
