Reporting in Lucendar. Thanks for accepting me for the game. Looks like Amanda and Fet will be responsible for keeping the party alive. Fortunately I did take Cure Light Wounds as a spell so later she can use a Wand of Healing to make up for the party shortfall (Well that and the potion crafting skills of Fet). She also can be a backup for the Rogue and an extra front liner with the fighter but can also stand back and shoot things as well. Looking forward to playing!

Ok some questions, mostly for background
Is this world set in golarian?. According to some posts I read it could be based of the western coast.

How are halflings treated. As equals, as vagrants, as children?

Are other faiths tolerated?

Is there much trade with yhe mainland?


Mysty, actually the setting of the game is Talingarde (Fire Mountain Games setting) not Golarion but we can use the Golarion pantheon. That's why I linked a map and its history above. We will be starting in the capital port city of Matharyn.

As for your questions:

Halflings are viewed as pesky and bothersome children and never evil, so your actions are truly abhorrent.

Only good faiths are tolerated and evil cults are rooted out and quickly dealt with. The Night Masks is the only organized underground theives' guild in the kingdom and many people view them more as a rumor or folk legend to scare children into behaving.

Trade: Plenty of naval trade throughout the kingdom.

Fet, I just read your background and links with mine a bit. How about as I was robbing the cathedral, you launched your arson attack. It would certainly add to the confusion and would help explain how we both got away, as the authorities attention was split.

BTW nice background.


Female Human Marksman

I see you're a Dexterity Based fighter Galahad. Only problem with that is that you're not much of a damage dealer and with a strength of 10 you won't be able to wear a lot of armor or carry a lot of gear. I suppose eventually you're looking to go into Duelist so you can get some advantages for your build I suppose.

Sorry to be late. My table top game was today. I just returned home. I'll whip my character up. I'm going to give this a shot with no dedicated healer. I've run with a 6 spell healer prior. It can be done. It's rough at early levels.

Mysty, I like the idea of linking our crimes to having 'bumped up against one another' as it adds a sense of cohesion and connectiveness.

I have two thoughts on my starting feats and wanted to get some idea from the other PC's on what they think would be most useful and most interesting -

Idea 1) I use both feats to take Fast Learner (I get two of the favored class bonuses every level.) and Improvasation (+2 bonus to all untrained skills). This would make my character very versatile in the skills department, which could be useful, but isn't exactly awesome. Another draw back is that I was thinking about going Master Chymist prestige class potentially (if we make it to that level) which would have me lose the first benefit of the feat.

Idea 2) Point blank shot + Extra discovery (Feral Mutagen)

Idea 3) Point blank shot and Weapon Focus: Bombs

I lean towards option 1 or option 2. I feel that option 3 makes me more of a one trick pony and bombs can be limited in a lot of ways.

Option one would be useful, but I think we have a useful skill set right now.

Option two. I have played an alchemist with the feral mutagen, and it is pretty good. With the right extracts you are very combat effective against minions but you have a problem vs high ac opponents. It is fun to play though. You go high strength and int and con. Cha and wis are dump stats.

The third idea is a good ranged attacker. Follow up with precise shot and explosive bomb

Question. Can you take extra mutatgen at 1st level?

Character creation:
25 point buy
2 extra skill points per level (starting at level 1)
Average starting gold for your class
Alignments LE or NE
At some point in this adventure path every character is going to have the chance to join an evil organization and swear allegiance to the master of that organization and its patron – the lawful evil god Asmodeus. The adventure path assumes you say yes to this chance. Therefore, you should make a character who can say yes.

Please put HP, AC, Saves, Initiative, and Perception bonuses in Race/Class sections of profile so I have easy access to it. See Mysty's example (she is missing Perception score).

I will review the characters over the weekend so we can start next week. The game will start at the fishery. The game assumes you all committed your crimes but were discovered (up to you how so) and now you are on the run with the authorities closing in. Trapped in the city, you used your last gold coins to arrange a meeting with the Night Masks to smuggle you out via ship. Fortunately, for you, you found a note that agreed to a midnight meeting to discuss the terms.

A question regarding smoke bomb discovery - does anyone know whether it does normal bomb damage and smoke or is it just smoke?

On my reading of the smoke bomb discovery, I would say the smoke effect is in addition to the damage.

Regarding starting gold, having brew potion and craft alchemy means that generally speaking I can craft 1st level magical potions and most alcemical items at half cost. Can I select these at the reduced cost during character creation under the idea that I previously crafted them?

What are the fighting styles in this group?

Ranged: Alchemist? I see you're Beastmorph. Does that mean you plan to enter melee?

Mysty: Melee?

Inquisitor: Melee?

Fighter: Looks like dex-based melee unarmed fighter. You building to Crane Style?

Do we have a party of five melee characters with no ranged or spellcasting attackers save as a supplement to melee?

As far as healing goes, the Inquisitor is the only one that can heal others with a spell. In my experience no amount of care can save a person from being struck in combat. It is going to happen. You only heal your level in a day with 8 hours of sleep. We will have to provide money for items to get hit points back between fights. We will also have to stealth quite a bit if we want to avoid frontline combat.

For the DM:

Are we allowing the Leadership feat? I think at some point I'd like to pick up a henchmen to help me out.

Mysty is definitely melee, but flank melee. Heading towards two wpn I think. however I do have some ranged ability.

I haven't decided if I will go assassin. Heck maybe cleric. Or cleric and assassin. I'll see how the game develops.

My STR is actually 14. Also, my damage output will be almost as high as a STR fighter with the bonus that I don't get hit as much.

@Damien... not unarmed, Aldori Swordlord build and, yes, I am planning on Crane Style also.

Changed my back story to include Fet's fire at the cathedral.

Just a note on healing, I am taking use magic device. While not a lot of use at the moment, at higher levels i can use wands of cure., plus attack wands such as wands of fire ball


You can post your in character thoughts and appearance (I am very visual) as you await midnight near the abandoned fishery, so give me a feel for the character.

Sure but after doing so, remove 1/3 your stash to represent the potions used during your crime and subsequent run from the authorities. Please also add hp, ac, saves, etc. under Race and Class tabs of your profile.

Leadership feat is fine. Please note that in my other games without clerics we play with a house rule: all healing out of combat be it from potions, spells, wands, etc. is maxed out. I will be implementing that rule here.

I will change it. I did not see that listed in your initial requirements in the recruitment thread. That is why I did not do the character stats using that requirement.

I agree. I hope everything is okay in your personal life, Fet, but disappearing for 4+ days at the very beginning of a PbP without notice has its consequences. You're out. Will find a replacement ASAP.
