"During the rest Dave expends A SINGLE Hit Die, fully recovering from all damage."
Resting Hit Die: 2d10 ⇒ (6+3) = 9
After a peaceful hour (which seemed much more like 5 hours of vigorous activity with a maiden two-and-a-half decades his junior), Dave is prepared for adventure!
Invigorated, Dave strides confidently out the door, then North and through the door whence burst the twig blight and skeletons.

Dave decides to venture forth on his own, the party slowly follows.
Much like the previous room, nodules of luminescent fungus hang from the ceiling and walls and grow in clumps on the flagstone floor. The light illuminates portions of grand bas-relief carvings on the stone walls that aren’t covered with the fungus. The carvings depict dragons in various stages of raining fire down upon terrified people. Soil and compost cover half the chamber’s floor, which allows a variety of feeble plants to grow. A bench containing simple gardening implements stands along the east wall.
Two doors are present in this room, one in the north wall, the other to the east.

A 10' wide hallway soon opens up into a chamber of some type. This room is not like the rooms you've discovered previously. No light sources are in the area, only those you bring with you.

Dragon-carved granite blocks line this chamber’s walls and ceiling, though many are crumbled and broken, leaving stony debris on the floor. A huge marble statue of a rearing red dragon stands in the curve of the western wall. The eye sockets of the dragon are empty, but a red glow lingers there, providing reddish light throughout the chamber. The radiance casts an inky shadow behind the statue’s wide wings. A five-foot-diameter, circular tile of dark stone is set in the floor in front of the dragon statue. Runes are carved around the circular tile’s inner edge.
You mean, will anyone stand on the dark circular tile, which is presumably the only place close enough to the hollow, glowing eyesocktets of the dragon statue, and then read the runes aloud in the mystic language of dragons? Dave asks warily...

I didn't say it quite that way.... but Dave if, you're willing, I'm sure we'll put something nice on your memorial. If we get out of here. But yeah I guess so

As Dave calls out his detected enemy, a dark exaggeration of some type of humanoid shadow leaps from behind the statue and tries to assault the fighter!

You should be able to see him, he is behind the statue somewhere.
You would need to move to a point where your light source could see him as well. Take another look and tell me when you end up where you want to be.

Well, it wanted to but it lost initative. Since Dave saw it the enemy did not gain a surprise round either.
Lebris decides to back away, allowing the creature to continue its assault on the fighter!
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
The attack fails as the party is aware of its presence!
Lebris, since you already rolled attacks, you can either stab at and miss the enemy or potentially suffer an AoO and back away to use your bow, your call.

Save or die!:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
The shadow manages to avoid the deadly spell as both arrow and blade strike the creature! However, the enemy seems to have been able to handle the damage better than the party would have hoped.
