an 18 misses, Vilya :/

The critical threat range for that particular weapon is 18-20. If the confirmation roll is lower than the creature's AC, doesn't it still hit (albeit dealing normal damage)?

Egan the Hunter's bow is a +1 bow that gives you a +4 vs. your favored enemy

Tobias' arcane bolts strike true, as does Egan's arrow. The beast screeches and paws the air.

Iz darts forward and slices at the scaly beast

1d20+8;2d6+3

His attack carves a jagged furrow in the dino's hide

I'll give Seven a chance to post today, if not, then I'll DMPC him

I know the the damage on the standard arrows, just wondering about the explosive arrows, which is what I shot at the beast. I'm guessing I add +4 to whatever damage I roll for the Explosive arrows?

(Male Half-elf Ranger / 5)

Egan quickly notches another arrow, and lets fly.

Vilya is apoplectic with rage. Her hands shake as she brandishes her kukri knife at no one in particular.

"I DIDN'T EVEN GET IN MY SHOT! YOU WOKE ME UP FOR THIS? YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! YOU'RE ALL... ROTTEN... KILL STEALERS!"

She jams her knife into the belt she had hastily thrown over her underclothes when the melee began, crossing her arms and pouting.

"I'm going back to sleep. You all owe me."

The fallen ... dragosaur? ... is covered in greenish-black scales. It's head has several ornate horns coming off it, and it has the basic carraige of a large raptor. Egan is very curious about this abomination. He takes the time to study the beast carefully; looking at the dirt on its feet, even cutting open its carcass to see what it has fed on. This is always useful to determine if he learns any secrets about this creature. He takes no flesh for consumption, as he is not sure if this is a sentient beast or not.

Egan begins his autopsy of the dragosaur.

"And I thought they smelled bad on the outside!" Karl quips as the acidic vinegary stentch of its innards perfume the night.

Egan's investigation reveals several things: The dragosaur liked hanging around the river. It's gullet is filled with fish and snakes. Its feet are sand covered, and there are water weeds stuck under its claws. It also had fought other predators, it has several healed or healing bite wounds.

As Egan checks out the fallen lizard's gizzard, a slurry of slimy rocks patter to the ground. The rocks are as smooth as river pebbles and the acid of the dragosaur's digestion has polished them to a high sheen. Among the quartz and feldspar a large round black rock sits. Egan sees a rainbow of colors scintilating from its highly-polished surface. It is one of the famous black opals that the Blue Mountains are known for. This is a beautiful large specimen with good color.

(Male Half-elf Ranger / 5)

"Well look what we have here"! Egan says carefully using a stick to remove the gem from the pile". "This should be worth a pretty coin". He looks at his Vilya to make sure she isn't trying to sneak up on him and take the "shiney".
