Just a heads up. Traveling Saturday and Sunday. Heading to the parrents for Christmas. Wife will be happy to see snow for first time. So will have tablets but no wifi on the road not unitl the hotel so little posting for me over the weekend. Next week will be less as well but still 1 or 2 a day.

GM Pandorica: I think you might have missed my edit.
1. Are you wanting to standardise currency on Euros, or should we track the currencies seperately? Are initial funds and equipment prices in Euros?

2. I was hoping to have Nick copy some of his spellbook - basically because if he loses it he's a commoner, and it costs chickenfeed to duplicate. There's been a problem with him having nowhere secure to store it (and lost spellbooks can lead to new wizards) but the vault fixes that.
Can he easily buy a book and ink in London? I expect I'll need to pay the conversion prices ($20 per gp). If so, after buying it, and leaving enough time to make the plane, how long will he have to copy pages of his spellbook? For the record it takes about half an hour per page to copy an existing book per CRB.

Fining the right kind of book, and ink to write down spells or copy a spell book is very very hard, in fact the best way so to make you own. If you have scribe Scroll feat you know how to make magic ink and paper to make a spell book, but it takes a ling while. Finding a magic bottle of ink in an antique shops by accident is possible. Magic ink in other words is very hard to make.

So I have another idea for you. I will give you Scribe Tattoo as a free feat, but you must scribe your spell book onto your flesh.

Because if a magic looking book is spotted at customs they are going to start asking questions about it, but a man who's tattooed is nothing strange, just cool looking and fun.

What do you think.

1: Not a problem. I'd had Nick's money as "in euros" because he'd been dealing with Rook, but just as happy for it to be $US.

2: That's an awesome idea, and if I'd known about it at the start I would have leapt at it, because a tattooed spell guy would be extremely cool - I can see exactly how to do it and would probably have headed Maori... but I've ended up (in my head at least, sort of in the PC) building a huge thing about wizardry being dangerous, the books being part if it, playing up to the old tropes (as well as the IT mundane focus) and Nick passing as normal for ages.

I want him to have a book now - even though it is deliberately archaic. I want him to fear someone else getting it almost as much as he fears losing the damn thing. I want him paying to use his illusory script not because he's worried someone might steal his ideas as out of terror that someone might read his book after he dies and turns into a wizard.

The magic ink is a good idea: it helps to explain why you cannot just scan Nick's spellbook and put it on the internet. Indeed, even 'fake' books in the real world could have a single, magic-inked, handwritten analogue that actually is a spell book. It also means memorising the pages (one of Nick's tricks) is much less useful.

Nick does have the skills to make magic ink. Is it the normal 1000gp/day crafting limit applies? Is it subsumed into making scrolls? How do you want to run it?

Either way, I'm guessing this means that Nick is not going to get a chance to copy anything before this adventure.

I agree moving the book through customs is probably too dangerous. Given he's not actually expended a spell, I might leave the book here and go through with what's memorised.

I have mentioned things that Sariel is carrying like; a watch, cigarettes, pen and paper. Things that seem true to the character to add flavor, normal mundane items that a person would have or carry in a bag. If this is an issue please let me know. I will update his "gear list" to reflect the items he was given for Italy, later on tonight. I will also begin a list of those mundane items and add a few others {like a cigarette lighter, deodorant, a comb} so it doesn't look like I'm adding things on the fly. If it is an issue he will "buy" those items in Italy. Thanks

unless you have a means to hid them, like Corneles and Tailor your running a real risk carrying them around. You get stopped ny the police, next thing your in a shoot out and then its all down hill from there.

That's your job, one gets used you get rid of it. You must at all times know who has what and what has been used. Kingman you don't seem to have a role yet, its up to you to make one, As a man with a new life, letting drink fall away, this is where I see you shining. Have that think then play yourself into a roll. A good one would me MR Smiths No 2, or the man who deals with cops. You an x forces type you any one in uniform my like you and have empathy with you. As the group levels then this could be a way to go. There is another. Sniper, long rank killer or fight acupressure your all. I may even give you a bespoke gun of you feel you want to go that way. let me know.


Currently he's in a bit of shock, since he just got finished with a series of pretty horrific experiments, followed by being given a rather large sum of money and taken to a different country. He hasn't even really processed the idea that someone is sharing his body with him, much less an angel that he can't communicate with or even notice really. I have some interesting ideas for things that he will discover (at one point he will swear in enochian/Celestial, for example, without realizing he was doing so, and I definitely think it will be interesting to deal with the ramifications of him trying to come to grips with some of the things that happened to him in Afghanistan.

He's definitely more of a serious character than I tend to play.

So as some of you may know I live in North China, working there and getting in with life in the Smog. There seems to be a out brake of some horrid tummy bug that has hit out house. We are all feeling a little but under the weather. But I am posting from my sick bed to pass the time.

Meant to cover that in my post, but missed it! Ramona would have buried it in her luggage with another metal object or with her camera gear well blended in, so it would appear as a generic metal box or as part of her camera gear. She has traveled with it before, so she most likely has a means of concealment. Otherwise, she would have placed it with a party member's secure mode of transport.

Besides that, hope the bug passes and if you are ill, :/ I hope you feel better soon! :)

As if now the team has a mage that can shrink shotgun and a single bag that carrys one pistol. NO other means is available, Your PC would not not to try and fly with a gun in her luggage Avala so you never got it out of France.

Weapons are Cornelius area, you need to talk to him about trying to get on on location.

Cornelius of the payer of Kindman is ok with that then yes.

Remember we are NOT going Hollywood here, you get shot you die, carry a gun onto a plane and your going to jail. Shoot someone on the street and there will be an investigation, CCTV will be looked at your faces will be known.

GM Pandorica, I'm Looking at alternative or improvised weapons one might find while scuba diving. What is your opinion on the availability of these items?

A Powerhead is a device that fires one round into whatever it is pressed against. It is used on spears and spearguns.

Your PC would not not to try and fly with a gun in her luggage Avala so you never got it out of France.

Since that is the case, it was probably a mistake in character building to have Ramona carry a pistol at all. I looked at the druid spell list for magical ways of dealing with the problem, but unfortunately a gun isn't typically made of wood or stone, and touch of rust is not reversible, I think I should scratch that part of Ramona's character sheet. She has magical means of dealing with a crisis, and I suppose she would survive by avoiding conflict altogether rather than carrying a firearm. Indeed, since her priority has been to remain hidden, a firearm would be too much of a risk.

Since as you say, she wouldn't carry a gun at all without a way of transporting it, may I change the revolver proficiency feat to something else?


I recommend a Shillelagh for starters :) It should work the same as a Hanbo except Galic :), do you have weapons finesse? It would work with the hanbo and several other simple weapons...just saying


Cornelius=all the diving stuff looks good, the boat may have a real gun to ward of shakes, and the like but you want fine out until you get to it. itali dos not have the same laws on guns, look them up, if you can find a ligit way to get one i will ok it.

Now you have a gun like weapon once a round to shot that can take out objects as well at 40' and is a TRA.

Not much help now, but smuggling guns through customs is something Nick can be helpful with if you can give him advance warning.
Basically, he can Shrink Item. Needs to memorise and cast it before hand though.
This is what he showed with the shotgun - but there wasn't time to do it before the flight.


My question would be what could we do with those spells if we don't use them shrinking guns. You color spray a batch of low level thugs now we have their guns. so one spell one gun or one spell five or six guns. just a thought


That you would have to find out in game guys, it's a nice idea but there could be very bad reproductions

Edit:I assume Sariel was able to record their License plate numbers, with taking ten on perception was Sariel able to tell if they are carrying side arms?

There seems to be a umber if groups, about 30 in all. Over a number of tables. There look moneyed, loads of expensive to tacky designer clothing and gold.

I had Nick react as if he was in the real world and got asked to do an awesome hack. If this is more of a cinematic mission-impossible universe then Nick owes Sariel a big apology.

Figure a search for number plates from a remote PC is probably reasonably safe... but hacking the department of motor vehicles is probably a pretty major mission on its own?

Its not cinematic mission-impossible universe, not holly would, but it is a gritty TV show kind of thing. So hacking has risks. I will make a call. Your best bet is try "Mother" the mainframe back at base if you really need it and get stuck. Any way some digging gets you some stuff

Sariel: Thanks. One of the things GM Pandorica warned me off when making Nick was that he only got one 'superpower', and I agreed that was so, and that it was not 'super-hacker'.

ye I wanted Nick to have a good hit info wise so the team knows he can do his roll. If he came back with a "No can do guys" on something this needed for plot, the team would think hes no good and that would not do.
Nick alls a mate and they put him onto a hidden not locked site, from there he gets info by linking up the dots. He got a good roll. so I am happy to pass on a little bit more.

yep at the parents now for the week. Will be traveling back home the day after xmas and back to the normal grind next monday.


GM Pandorica, when we go out on the boat will we be staying out overnight or will we be coming back to the hotel. Sariel has slept during the day most of his life, I will try and alter this in a way it doesn't slow down the game. I'm sure some of what we are doing will be night time but obviously not all of it. I am watching the activity and will have Sariel awake in enough time to be on the boat. After this I will attempt to put him on everyone else's schedule.

If having him sleep for four hours during the morning or afternoon works good for some reason; he would be willing to give the gun to Kinsman to be "daytime" security.

I've got Ramona updated! I dropped the revolver proficiency feat, and went for the persuasive feat. As nice as the sonic blast sounds, the crystal holy symbol is plenty neat as well. Also, I figure, she should be pretty darn persuasive if she has managed to convince most people that she is an ordinary human being for the last seventeen centuries. ;D

People were talking about first impressions of our characters' abilities, and I feel I may have botched mine just a little. Ramona definitely has some valuable information for the party. However, when Sariel approached her by the tree, there was no reason for her to be surprised.

There were no dice rolls involved to justify that, and thinking on it, an over-thousand year old lady should be someone who has seen everything and should not be easy to startle. I really dropped the ball on that one, and gave an impression of my character I didn't mean to give.

So... if it is possible to errata that one minor moment, then I would... otherwise, I will do my best to RP Ramona's immense age and breadth of experience better than I have from now on.
