The Elusive Trout |
Alright guys, here goes: I have some questions for you guys to answer at your leisure.
What sorts of things have you never done before as characters?
Assuming you're newer, what do you think would be a really fun thing to slay/accomplish?
What are your characters afraid of most?
What are their favorite things in the world?
How many hats do you think they could balance on their heads at once?
Ruul Spiritskin |
What sorts of things have you never done before as characters?
Having been a slave for the majority of his life, Ruul's never had a chance to participate in most of the things that come with being free and independent. Specifically, things like sitting down for a formal meal or creating art (for the sake of art) would be downright bizarre for him.
Assuming you're newer, what do you think would be a really fun thing to slay/accomplish?
Raised as a gladiator, the roar of the crowd is a thrill that little will be able to replace for Ruul. Perhaps praise and accolades for other things might work. I could see Ruul being a performer of some kind.
What are your characters afraid of most?
Bondage. Slavery. Etc.
More specifically he's worried agents of the Prophets will come after him and try to drag him back. He doesn't understand the organization super well but he knows they are powerful and capable of being ruthless.
What are their favorite things in the world?
As above, praise, freedom, feeling strong (both literally and figuratively).
What are their favorite things in the world?
A lot. Ruul isn't graceful but his horns give him a pretty significant hat-stacking advantage.
Sorval |
1. Well She wants answera from her brother...
2. A fortress city of minions to slay and a BBEG to confront at the top. Also; killing the dragon responsible for her clans death.
3 Finding her brother dead.
4. She has always been fascinated with the arcane.
5. Why would anyone do that? I don't understand-sorry.
Zeltor |
What sorts of things have you never done before as characters?
Flirting... Yep... Zeltor was found by his master as a young devil-child, and brought up fully in a monastery. Only very recently, searching for his origins [he has nightmares and whatnot :D], has he been allowed to move away from that spartan life, and go out into the world. As such, he is not familiar with the comings and goings of the opposite sex, and has neer flirted with a girl, or have been the target of an attraction or anything of the kind. He is slightly on the shy side.
Assuming you're newer, what do you think would be a really fun thing to slay/accomplish?
Zeltor is a protector of the weak - the underlying search for his past is always there, but ever since he started travelling, he tends to develop attachments quickly, probably due to the fact that he is somewhat naive regarding the world - his attachments drive him to play the defender role. Finding recognition for such role, as humble as he may be, would probably make for one very happy tiefling.
As far as slaying... Zeltor is not a slayer, he fights when there is need to fight. But the guy playing Zeltor says:"There is nothing quite as amazing as putting down an evil dragon" - THAT is the quintessential fight :D
What are your characters afraid of most?
The path from being a bestial creature scouring the Ashen Plains of the Worldwound, to where he is now, has been a very long and hard one, only possible due to the humanity recognized in him by his master - losing that is definitely Zeltor's greatest fear.
What are their favorite things in the world?
The sunrise - Zeltor's first memory as a self conscious creature is that of sitting on the top of his monastery in Qiang Tian staring at the Sun as it crested the horizon.
How many hats do you think they could balance on their heads at once?
Probably a lot, since he is all about monkish stuff like balance, equilibrium, harmony with the one force and whatnot. But he would probably not do it - his sense of humor is not... an overwhelming onle - lets put it like that. So stuff without practical application doesn't really motivate him much.
Marduzi Rye |
What sorts of things have you never done before as characters?
Never been in a serious relationship. Never really been in a serious combat. Never been underground.
Assuming you're newer, what do you think would be a really fun thing to slay/accomplish?
Well everyone loves to slay a dragon. But something truly monstrous and strange would be fun.
What are your characters afraid of most?
Becoming reliant on drugs and being buried alive.
What are their favorite things in the world?
The open sky. Music. Alcohol
How many hats do you think they could balance on their heads at once?
Ooh...2 to 3, depending.
Horfil |
What sorts of things have you never done before as characters?
Participated in an army v army battle, stolen anything (well a friend stole a bottle and I examined it and noticed Thasollian runes on it and then we made a second bottle to replace the stolen one and we sold the original for a bunch of platinum.), travel in a desert... I'm really new to RP there are probably hundreds of things I haven't done yet but those are the few that I can think of right off the bat...
Assuming you're newer, what do you think would be a really fun thing to slay/accomplish?
Kill a small army single handed would be cool although I have seen the rules and don't want to drag that into the game... Killing a couple Drow would be nice for character satisfaction of course.
What are your characters afraid of most?
Aside from death/losing a leg *shudders at the thought of losing both*, Enclosed spaces and being unable to keep the cultures of dance alive throughout the centuries. Oh and the Undead Horfil gets scared at just the sight of them... Having to fight one would not likely occur though will if must (will save to prevent shaken DC 15 does that sound fair?).
What are their favorite things in the world?
Dancing, music, good ale, making friends on his self conceived quest.
How many hats do you think they could balance on their heads at once?
5-6 and would accept the challenge as a training session for learning a dance that requires great balance.

Okay: New questions to keep people busy if they wish to fill them out:
1.Have you seen the mythic rules?
2.Would you want to have your characters commission/build things?
3.What would you want to see more of in this town?
4.Are any of you thinking of multiclassing?
Horfil |
1: I have heard of the new Mythic stuff though I have yet to read up on the new content as I don't want to add a new level to the theory crafting process that could possibly not even be in effect with most groups. (Yes I understand that they can be removed easily I just don't want to go filling my head with more stuff to think about I have enough to think about making a character in the first place!)
2: Not the craftsman type sorry.
3: Would love to go to the theater to see just how big of a hole I dug myself into with this character concept!
4: Not really the Dervish Dancer while it can just doesn't seem to flow well with anything... If I multiclass it would be the Shadowdancer Prestige Class though I'm not thinking of getting the feats for it anytime soon. (Now that I'm thinking about it I have to find my level progression for this character as I haven't used it in so long... Time to go digging in different file folders, be back in a half-an-hour)
Found my level progression guide for this character! Its a year old where I didn't know how to build truly great characters so for this campaign I'll go by what feels right for this character to get in terms of feats, spells, and skills.
Ruul Spiritskin |
Yes, I've read the mythic rules. I'd prefer not to touch them.
Ruul doesn't know it, but he'd like to try his hand at art and/or music. His whole life he's been trained to fight and kill. He'd like to create something for once.
Having the town be a bit more proactive would be cool. So far I'm digging the skyrim approach where we go around talking to folks and collecting quests. Maybe once we start building up a reputation, people could come to us.
Ruul's next level is going to be monk. As far as his background goes he should already have it. Gotta get to level 2 quick!
The Elusive Trout |
Mythic isn't for here. At least, I wouldn't touch them for at least a year irl after all the erratas are out, etc.
Even then, never more than a couple of tiers. I just wanted to know what the general sentiment is.
@Feral: That's the plan. No one really knows who some of you are, or know you in separate capacities.
The Elusive Trout |
At times I may have to DMNPC you or make it so you can catch up via spoilers to a past conversation.
This would simply be done to keep things going a little bit.
In this case, I could assume that Horfil will take Sorval to the theater, for example, and move on from there. You can put up a heading and say how your meeting finished in "flextime", and then come back to the present. A good example of this would be the COT campaign in which Feral played Maddok (And might still, but I hardly see it on the front page).

DM Are had some sort of family crisis and was off and on for a bit. He hasn't been heard from in weeks. That game might be dead. =(
