When his companions move off the road Dinkerdink waves his hands and points behind the elk. At the spot he points a loud cat roar eminates.

Dink casts minor illusion and makes an illusory sound hoping to scare the elk away.

Dinkerdink Charisma: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

The movement and loud noises causes the elk to lower their heads, ready to aggressively spring forward. They appear to be spooked.

Marcus & Glyph may act.

Glyph:
Glyph knows that the larger Elk is more than a simple Elk, and has been granted some supernatural benefit to it's physical stature. He also knows that injuries from Elk are worst when they have room to build momentum - and they are in a position to charge at the group from where they are.

The elk are about 20ft from the archway. Ts'kaliss is the only one close to them having run past them towards the noise, though he is still about 10ft from the elk.

Also, Dink where did the sound emanate from?

Glyph begins to cast attempting to calm the animals.

Glyph cast sleep on the Elk targeted between the two Elk
Hit dice affected: 5d8 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 7, 5) = 25

As Marcus and Glyph act, you can see one of the two smaller elk fall over asleep from Glyph's magic. The other staggers a bit but shakes its head and seems to have avoided the spell.

The large alpha elk charges at Grimm, lashing out with its horns.

Elk Alpha Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Grim manages to step aside as the elk nearly crashes into the stone archway.

The dwarves may act!

Sorry for the delay...slow internet!

Seeing the elk just barely miss him as it charges past, Grimm swiftly turns and moves further off the path, using the crumbling wall and gate as a barrier between him and the enraged beasts.

So Grimm will try and make it to the relative safety of the wall and gate, but will not turn his back on the elk...just in case he does not make it in time!!

The other elk attack Tis'kaliss and Ragnanon as Ragnaganon defends.

Elk 1 Hooves Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Weapon Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 bludgeoning damage

Ragnaganon Strength Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Tis'kaliss is caught offguard expecting the horns, but the creature rears upa nd comes down striking him. Ragnaganon is bowled over with the blow, and now the elk stands over him making a guttural noise.

Tis'kaliss, Dinkerdink, Arda, Marcus, and Glyph may act

Arda rushes up to assist Tis'kaliss. (unless the layout makes more sense to assist someone else or they are too far away)

She swings her scimitar at the elk -
Scimitar attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Scimitar damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

"Terrible beasts! You'll find we don't die so easily!" She takes a quick moment to look over the others who suffered the brunt of the elk charge. "You all still standing alright? Warn us before we have to carry your carcass around!" she says with a wink.

I screwed up!

One of the elk fell asleep by Glyph's spell, and as such could not attack Tis'kaliss. Tis'kaliss took no damage and is not engaged. If you agree with any target changes I make, let me know.

Dinkerdink's handaxe and Marcus' rapier bring down the elk looming over Ragnaganon, even giving Marcus enough time to offer a hand to the dwarf.

Arda runs to Grim's aide Arda's scimitar glancing off the creature's thick hide. Meanwhile, Glyph launches a bolt of flame at the elk searing its side as the bolt lands true.

Tis'kaliss wheels around to help with the massive alpha elk.

Tis'kaliss Scimitar Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Tis'kaliss Offhand Scimitar Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Scimitar Damage: 1d6 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + (5, 1) = 9

His first strike unable to deal damage he lands the second blade into the creature's flank and imbues it with the power of the divine causing the creature to cry out in pain.

The cries of some creature in the forest grow more intense, along with the yipping noise of another creature.

Dinkerdink's axe found purchase, striking the creature in the head and drawing its attention as Marcus' rapier plunged deep into the beast's hindquarters.

Bucking wildly, Glyph's fire bolt strikes a tree leaving a scorch mark and Grimm's hammer swings through where the elk was.

Meanwhile, Arda sees to Tis'kaliss' injuries giving him the energy to strike the neck of the beast slicing through the sinew and bone and taking the massive head clean off through the power of his divine might. The elk immediately slumps to the ground.

The new silence highlights that the growling and yipping from deeper in the forest that is still intense as the brief skirmish with the elk comes to an end... at least one of the elk could be spared.
