Dot in people

Male Human

Soul Dragon here. :)

Doop doop dooply dot.

Male

I have awoken.

? Not much of a speed fanatic, couldn't tell you. Former Retail Worker/13

Doottle doot doot.... Will come up with a better 'name' than this once we get rolling...

Your head is spinning. Your insides will soon become your outsides. A headache that threatens to split your head open. A blaring non stop screetching noise. And darkness. This is what greets you as you feel yourself being hurled forward onto hands and knees. Cold hard surface is underneath you. Your mind is a mess. You can not focus. The pain, noise and gut wrenching feeling in your lower abdomen is all that is currently filling your still confused mind. You have no idea where you are. If you do manage to open your eyes. Everything is hazy. Figures around you. But you can not make out what or who they are. Heck. You are not even sure about yourself...

~ Urtienko

... There's some flopping and some flailing as an obsidian-limbed entity tries to get his? her? its? bearings in the insanity of pain and... falling... they don't fall... they... something... wait... it..

The natural reaction of instinct would be fight or flight. But for individuals that may have developed sentience, there's also the recognition of pain. Weakened by the overwhelming sensations of sensory overflow in addition to a gut-wrenching nausea, the strange beaked being does the third option... curl up into as tight a ball as possible and wrap every limb around itself in the vain hope that perhaps reducing the input might help in the recovery process.

Perhaps if the din settles and the searing agony stops they can focus a bit more?

Male

From behind a pile of wreckage, a three-fingered hand that looks like a collection of vines appeared. Grabbing the top, another appeared, then slowly, a mass of plant matter peered over the debris. Blinking its eyes and shaking its head, the Arborix looked about and saw curled up figure on the floor. Shakily, it approached and looked over unknown creature. In its native language, an airy and drawn out sounding style of speech, it asked if the being was alright.

With a metallic clatter a long piece of metal falls off of a writhing pile of serpentine coils. From amid the pile, a forked tongue flicks in and out, its owners eyes covered as it tries to adjust to the cacophony around it.
Slowly, it starts to rise, revealing a humanoid torso connected to its long tail. It blinks, dazed, as it looks at its surroundings.

"Ughh, what's doing on?" it says groggily.

Time to find out if we all speak the same language?

you will... but first a bit of communication chaos ;)

-Posted with Wayfinder

A large metallic fist bursts through a pile of destroyed metal as another grasps onto a piece of metal, pressing down to haul up the strange, walking armor set with bladed arms out of the wreckage. It begins tapping and banging its body with its fists.

Bladeborn language,known as Racket:
Where am I? No dents, but..... this place is unfamiliar.

Male

Not getting a response, the plant-man placed its 'hand' on the prone creature. Moments later phosphorescent blue spores began pouring out from its 'wrist' and covered as many wounds as they could get to. It wasn't much, but perhaps the healing they provided would ease his pain.

Arborix Language:
"Let your wounds be healed."

The reptilian creature's tongue continues flicking in and out before it turns its head inquisitively towards the plant creature and its glowing spores. It starts towards the two before it is interrupted by loud bangs and metallic clattter as a robotic looking, blade covered thing starts whacking itself, and edges farther away.

The construct turns, 2 glowing orbs shining in its helmet. It realizes it has frightened the reptile, and holds its hand out to show it means no harm.

~ Urtienko

The curled-up avian-ish entity flops out of the curled-up position as it recognizes the breathy words..

A possible airy language:
Auran:"Can you *ugh*...nderstand me?"

And then the plant-thing touches and the spores sizzled a bit as they fought with the bird-thing's blood, though any nicks or scratches are slowly healing up even as it pulls itself to an upright seated position... dry heaving a couple more times.

More airy language:
Auran:"What the bloody hell is going on here? Where are we, who or what are you, and why the krak are you smearing stuff on me?"
Despite the rather loud outburst that emanates from the winged thing, it isn't moving to attack, instead watching the others warily...

As you struggle with the language gap, the noises in the background. Not to mention the mess that is your mind, you start to notice the screetching noises are beginning to form words. Words that you are starting to understand

In a very metallic, robotic voice:
"CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. SYSTEMS UNRECOVERABLE. EMERGENCY PURGE IN PROGRESS..." that repeats for a while. Then the lights go on. A red hue now to everything. The message changes a bit

"PURGE COMPLETE. ACTIVATING EMERGENCY PROTOCOL. SIGMA BEING LAUNCHED. ALL AVAILABLE PERSONEL PLEASE REPORT TO KEY CHAMBERS."

You can now start to understand each other. But you can roleplay the bits in between as the galactic translater starts to process each language. PS. This only function for you at this time. It will not function for the species on this planet. So no free "comprehend language" ability ;)

~ Urtienko

The bird-being places manipulative appendages over the sides of what appear to be its head.

A strange raucous language:
"Oh, open sky, MAKE IT STOP!"

And then the message changes and there's a slight relaxing because, hey, droning strange voice he can understand has changed... oh, no, it's repeating again. Agggggh.

"That doesn't sound good. What's a 'Sigma' and what's a 'key chamber'?"

The snake creature cautiously accepts the presence of the robotic construct as it turns its attention to the blaring voice over loudspeaker, and the other beings in the room.

Eventually the voice begins to change, and it hears one of the creatures speak in a way it understands.

"You! I can understand you, what's going on?"

The metallic creature feels unfazed by the lights turning on, but has started creating metallic noises from its helmet and then it becomes surprised as it can understand the other creatures.

"Ah, so these creatures are intelligent! Hello, fellow.......whatever we are.Prisoners?Passengers? Well, salutations anyway."

Male

The plant-man listened to the others. It soon began to speak. Whatever was translating took a bit before it worked out the Arborix language matrix. "*Hooooooom* am *hoooooooooom* but perhaps *hoooooom* be in our best interest to locate these 'key chambers'."

~ Urtienko

"We're going to need a map or chart, any supplies, and probably whatever equipment we can scavenge along the way. Though there might be a temptation to take all the shinies, let's leave that for now and work on stuff we really might need?"

The avianesque being pulls itself up and checks through all of its limbs before looking for some sort of indication of direction, signs, maps, anything...

None that you can see. The dull red glow is all that illuminates your current location. There is a door to the side. Currently the door is closed.
Other pods in the area are eerily quiet and dark. You cant even see if anything is in them. So at this point, you, the other awakened and a few dozen dark pods, and the closed door

-Posted with Wayfinder

"Do we even count as 'personnel' for reporting to wherever these key chambers are. I sure wasn't hired or trained." The snake creature peers into one of the unopened pods as it talks. "But I suppose it is the best place to find out what's going on."

~ Urtienko

"Let's move, then. Everyone capable of that?" The birdly thing starts moving along in a random direction with the rest of the group (not walking into any closed doors, bulkheads, or the like)

as mentioned. Only 1 door. And its closed

Male

"Is anyone else hurt?" The Plant-man asked.

"I have no dents and no major scratches, so I am fine. So, let's get ourselves out of here shall we?"

The construct walks up to the door and examines it.

It is a large door. 10ft. Ot looks very heavy. Yet you see no way of opening the door or even if the door is locked.

-Posted with Wayfinder

~ Urtienko

"Well, if we are considered personnel, and we're getting that message, then there's probably some sort of way to manually release the door, possibly something hidden, even?"

Ti peers at the only apparent exit, then heads back to the pile of wreckage that some folks came out of looking for something that could be turned into a crowbar, or a rudimentary lathe, even...

Male

A lathe?! Get off the phone Guy!

~ Urtienko

"Other than feeling like my stomach is going to try and come out of my beak? I'm doing reasonably well but starting to feel a bit claustrophobic would someone please get that door open I'm sure we can find something here in the junk...."

Ti is trying to remain calm, honest!

"There's no levers or buttons? Can we just break it down?" It slithers over to put pressure on the door with the considerable bulk of its serpentine lower half. "You, the uhh... robot... thing. Come help me, you look like you're strong."

Arborix

This is Fallen_Mage, finally got around to making an alias for the Arborix.

Just as you try to open it, it effortly opens. Hissing as steam floods the immediate area, obscuring your vision for a few seconds. As it clears, you all can hear a feint buzzing noise. As you look around to see if you can find the source, it finds you.

Just a few inches from your face, a small (Tiny Size) creature seems to hover. It's wings being the source of the buzzing. Its entire body made of a chrome like metal, but somehow different. It seems to move somehow. Then it speaks. Clearly a female voice.

"Greetings Keys. I am SIGMA, the ARKs AI. Fully aware I might add" the last bit sounded very much boasting
"I am glad that I could save some of you. Too bad about the others. Aaaaaany way. You probably want to know what is going on? Well. I have good news and bad news. Good news is, we survived the crash. The planet seems to have a breathable atmosphere. Now for the bad news. The ship is practically destroyed. We do not have life support, so we cant keep you in stasis. Entire external sensors are down, so cant tell you much what's beyond the airlock and lastly, the main core drive was broken off from the rest of the ship, and is now somewhere on this planet. Soooo... we're stuck till we are found. Any other question? "

SIGMA seems to flit about at an incredible as she explain the situation. Only staying infront of each of you for a second before moving on

a description. Think of a metalic pixie or faerie

Arborix

Suldehash knew some of what the metallic creature was talking about, given his peoples trade with other star-faring societies. But he had no memory of how he got here. "What other supplies are available to us?"

~ Urtienko

"Hello, SIG-MA. Let me note for the record I'm kind of glad you saved some of us too. You said main core drive... that sounds kind of important and power-y. How are you still working without power? Are you going to cut out on us at some point?"

While the Urtienko isn't a technical genius, this is in the 'average questions a person might think to ask'. At least, he thinks so.

She looks at both aliens a bit, then at the rest before she goes to sit down on a piece of debris

"Well. Equipment I can help with. Not a lot. But I can. I have managed to find a few loose things of what remains of the ship. As to the power. Eventually. Yes. Even I will power down. But not before the rest of the ship..."

She looks around a bit
"If you want, you can try to retrieve the core and bring it back. That way the ships power won't run out, the emergency beacon will hold, aaaaand I can help you more."

She flits around the group a bit. A blue light scanning each one of you
"Yes. It may work... I want to implant you with a medium range communicator. That way we can stay in contact with each other. And you can relay what you find. Its only 2 way. So it wont help you communicate with the others. And its only strong enough to work in the current atmosphere."

-Posted with Wayfinder

"Implant? I just woke up, I don't think I want to be having any surgery by someone that's not even my species!"

~ Urtienko

"Not going to turn down any gear that might be of use, and yes, let's try to get you some power because hey, it'd be kind of a shame to have someone who's a 'fully aware AI' not stick around, right?"

There's of course some selfish motivation there, but also some common sense. With support and resources...

"Oh. No. Nothing as serious as an operation. No. I simply inject it into you. Thats all!" she smiles sweetly, her hands behind her back

"Yes. That would be wise, getting power to the ship is very important. That way i can help you with a few more things. Currently i can only process information ypu send my way. Nothing more"

-Posted with Wayfinder

"While the injecting might work with these specimens, you may notice that I am inorganic so I am incapable of receiving injections. Although I'm sure you have an alternate method."

He still makes a face at being injected. "Well we'll figure that out, but right now, do you have any idea where we might be able to start to find the power core?"

"Yes,this power core seems very advantageous for us to obtain. We might be able to get some answers once we find it."

Arborix

"So, how long until the emergency power fails?" The Plant-man asked.

~ Urtienko

The bird-man has begun pacing, as much as the space and the others assembled will allow. The discussion has reached the end in his eyes, he's waiting for the injection but also a bit fidgety and anxious to go out and get on with it already...

The little AI thinks for a bit.
"Not sure. As my external sensors are down, but my guess 60 to 70 rotation cycles of the planet before the backup power cells are completely dead and retrieval of the core will be pointless. As to where the core is, I can not say, but with your help we can find it."

She buzzes up and after everyone is ready she injects a small metallic object into your neck. Or weld it on with a small plasma cutter

"Now if you wish to speak to me, simply press and talk" she smiles

you each have 50gp to equip yourself with basic adventuring gear. No weapons or armor at this point

Arborix

Does that include items from the Technology Guide?

~ Urtienko

The bird-like being goes into the previous room and whispers out of relative earshot.

[/b]"Testing, Testing, Testing."[/b]

He will then come back after the test of the communicator.

"Sixty to seventy days or years... gonna be a bit tight. But let's make it happen."

Ti will request the equivalent of the following, and request any suggestions for things he may have missed:

Backpack (2g)
Rope (1g)
10 days emergency rations (5g)
Canteen (1g)
Compass (10gp)
Traveler's Outfit(1g)
Umbrella(2g)
Small Tent(10g)
Flint and Steel(1g)
Snorkel(5sp)
Poncho(5sp)
Waterproof Bag(5sp)
Mess Kit (2sp)
Deck of Cards (1sp)
10' Pole (5cp)

if you can afford it. Just remember it is a wreck of the ship. Think of what can be scrounged up.

You hear the sound in your head
I read you. Yup! Working. That's good.
