got some encounters planned for the road ahead, you will definitely level up by the end of it. will be doing level ups based on wbl

I feel like everyone is either clueless about the world around them, or you have a decent feel for it, how am I doing on exposition?

Male Human Magus (inactive)

I'm acting under the assumption Draalûsh is not very familiar in his current surroundings.
Being a "ferner" and all that.

Well, you're doing okay. A few descriptions of our surroundings would be good, to set the mood. But good game. A little bit of history would also gives us some context. A few lines, not a book of course :)

Yeah, there is only so much for our characters to react to right now. Setting the mood would help the imagination a lot. We need to bring the ranger in more.

been thinking about combat and how slow it was last time, should we have a set turn order based on time zone and availability?

Ifrit bard 5 CN Init +5 AC 18, touch 16, flat-footed 12 hp 31/40 Fort +3, Ref +9, Will +4; +4 vs. bardic performance, language-dependent, and sonic Resist fire 5, Perception +8 Sense Motive +7

Some games I am in the DM determines if the players or the enemy goes first, then the players post in order of whomever goes first.

I will definitely have enemies and allies go in blocks, with the highest initiative roll by each group to determine which goes first. the only question I have is how to handle your order within that for maximum efficiency. normally I wouldn't worry, but I have a few combats planned in a row here

Ifrit bard 5 CN Init +5 AC 18, touch 16, flat-footed 12 hp 31/40 Fort +3, Ref +9, Will +4; +4 vs. bardic performance, language-dependent, and sonic Resist fire 5, Perception +8 Sense Motive +7

Why don't you just post the posting order then, rather than waiting a day for all the characters to roll init? That could speed things up?

I am in Germany until 11/14. I will do my best to find a connection!

HI!

Sorry if I've kept anyone waiting.

Been studying Ancient Greek and Latin and S*&+.
Well ... I wasn't studying that third item, actually :o
But my brain did turn to mush!

I'll just check all the action I missed, and post.

if you can just post whatever that's fine, I seem to remember you being damage based.

if you take too long I'll just have you do what you did last to the most injured enemy

Human. Ranger 4. HP40. AC17, T13, FF13. Fort 6. Ref 7. Will 3. Init +3. Perception +9

Sorry for my silence, very sick at the moment, Bot me until I can keep solid food down please.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Hope you get over that soon!

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Sorry to hear Samias quit the campaign.

But I think it would be good to find a replacement.

Someone sturdier in the front line that Draalûsh is.

Maybe another ranger or a slayer could take his place?

Yeah, let's try to get a ranger type in here and keep it going. I'm liking it thus far. ;)

Yup. Don't suppose we leveled?

doing levels by wealth, I got 3-4 more fights for you before level up. the badger fight was supposed to be easier than it was, 1-2 more instadead badgers and possibly 2 more duking it out before you got to them. they just kept on nailing their will saves. I'll see if Adriala can rejoin before reopening the recruitment.

... And figure out why I took infernal healing instead of cure light wounds for a first level prepared spell, but no let that I think about it... It makes sense, anyways! I'll also update my profile and such...

Who had the magic weapon spell.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Not me; as yet.

I was wanting to get that when I level up, though.

half of the people here had the magic weapon spell at one point or another

Damage reduction? Pah! Reduce the damage I deal when I deal over 30 DAMAGE IN ONE HIT!

oh... You did... Now it's only 20 damage... Ah, still enough to hurt ;P

I looked it up, and yes... I can make a Grik Zombie. Lesser animate dead allows me to make a zombie with no more than 2 times my CL in HD, and I can control up to 20HD of Undead .

And because the Grik is Medium, I am more than capable of doing so :P

if it dies when undead, the corpse will be unusable

edit: unless you kill it

Have you got the onyx you need to animate dead? you need 25gp of it per hit dice. Undead are costly.

I know they are, hence why I had a ton of leftover gold instead if spending it on nothing. The only problem is that I only have enough for a 4HD creature and Grick happen to be 5HD

did I lose you all?

Male Human Magus (inactive)

I'm still here.

I was just chronically stunned for a lack of sleep the last few days.

That's me the the player, not my necessarily my character. :D

I'm still around.

Just and FYI, I'm not keeping up the charade with Gorum. If I'm gonna say I worship anyone it's Lamashtu.

However I know how going around boasting that isn't a good idea, so to keep things simple she will simply say she worships a godess, not saying who. This of course is suspicious, but it could be any random god of battle and destruction that she could worship, she could also just worship power, after all one doesn't have to follow a god to be a cleric.

I am here. I have been battling real live giant rats that just moved into my house. Luckily they have been in there less than two weeks. I know that because we just packed away all the Christmas stuff and they took up residence in it.

would just like to say if you get a message saying your turn, it only means you were the last in the round to go, or a role-playing part that only you can fulfill without me talking to myself has come up.

progress in the campaign has been slow so I get a little bit excited/agitated when there comes a part that hastens/slows progress respectively. this is the first and only online campaign I am involved in. I check it 2-3 times a day in central time. once morning, once around lunch, then maybe 1-2 times after I'm home, just because it's so easy to.

I would appreciate feedback on how I come across. I know that can be an issue over the internet, and I know I've messed up on these forums in particular a couple times

Well, My piece of advice is to be a bit more descriptive, and encourage your players to be descriptive as well.

The more work you put into both the campaign and your characters the better if feels for us all, the more engaging it all becomes. Honestly my favorite part if games is Character Creation, but I believe that's because when it comes to playing that is the place my Character comes most I to mind. When I'm one of the few characters that describes their actions deeply I feel kinda like I'm overdoing it, esspecialy when other characters say "I cast magic missle" and roll some dice.

Other than that I think you got a pretty good hold on concept and story

My methods call for less posts, but they make for richer posts.

I think when a game gets up and moving with opportunities for the characters to interact things go well.

The narrator does have to move things along and set the stage at times and give the characters something to react to.

Like in the brothel, you were moving the story along and there were points that we could start the inter-party banter.

I am having a good time with this adventure. i am looking forward to get into the meat of it. Right now the characters are just trying to get from point A to Point B (a really unknown place) and hitting encounters along the way, but those are important. That's how you develop party unity, allow the other characters to learn the others, etc.

Remember NPCs talking aren't you talking to yourself, it is the narrator telling the story, advancing the plot, creating conflict, and setting the stage for the characters to react and act out the details of the story we create together.

No, please overdo it. it adds flaver to the soup. Your character concept is really interesting.

Hashik is CN artist, who has a lot of "stuff" going on with him. The DM gave me a shell to work with, but it will be interesting to see him interact with a devote, but slightly evil cleric.

If Adriala had full rein she'd tear the heart out of her victims with her bare hands, unfortunately she both isn't that Powerful yet, and doesn't want to have the entire nation at her throat.
