Zohreh admires the loot. "Perhaps this is why Shelyn wanted me in the ruins," she says, following Varisia and casting Guidance on herself.

"I'm doubting the potency of these munitions..." Fionn growled, kicking idly at a shard of pottery from the explosives.
"Are you sure it isn't the potency of throw?"
Jandar-Ki Naïlo |
'As long as no one asks us to throw anything, I think we'll be alright. Shall we?' Varisia doesn't wait for a reply before pressing in to the small outbuilding attached to the main structure. b10
"Hey Varisia - Catch! It's your share of the loot."
Jandar tosses a pouch containing some of the coins to the Scarab-man.

As you look around, you notice that Zariya and Nenet appear to have been swallowed by a giant dung beetle that winks at you before disappearing. Perhaps Khepri (the god of dung beetles and peasants) disapproved of his namesakes being burned and covered with acid?

"That's one ugly mother f*****."
Jandar-Ki Naïlo |
Said in an Arnold voice, of course. What does everyone think? Go ahead and engage?
Zohreh of the Bulls |
"Aw, it's not doing anything. It probably eats those beetles. Unless it attacks us, I say we leave it."
Zohreh hefts her glaive in a manner that suggests the spider will not like the consequences if it does try to attack.
Varisia James |
'Hang back, let me see if there's any reason to dislodge it. I agree, no need to kill the thing if we don't have to. We are invading it's home after all.' Varisia creeps back towards the door of the room and scans the room for anything of interest, on guard in case the spider attacks.

Is it assumed the party is split up in the current rooms exploring? Do we need to roll more perception checks?

Splitting up?! Whoa now.

Varisia has gone forward stealthed, yes. The rest of the group is in B10 at present.
For Varisia....
Two stone tables sit against the western wall of this room,
while a third occupies the southeastern corner. A small, square
wooden butcher's block stands in the northeast corner, now
almost collapsing under its own weight. A stone oven sits in the
middle of the north wall. A humanoid skeleton lies beneath the
northwestern table, surrounded by smashed crockery. A door to
the east and an open doorway to the south exit the room.

Jandar-Ki Naïlo |
"I guess that means you have lunch duty?"
Varisia James |
'Looks like whoever bludgeoned him either started or finished him with this.' Varisia says while carefully removing the dagger from the bones. He gives it a quick look-see to determine if it's worth salvaging.

After the combined research of Jandar and Zohreh, the hieroglyphs and images reveal the chamber is an ancient shrine to three of the chief gods of the ancient Osiriani pantheon: Osiris, Ra, and Maat (goddess of justice and law). It has been recently defaced and a number of angry scribblings have been made in an unknown language across the shrine.
Jandar-Ki Naïlo |
"Thanks Zohreh, but I'll have to pass. I can't have too many Shelyn school girls gushing over me. Where would I find the time?" asks Jandar, his face deadpanned.
Varisia James |
'What's this I hear about Shelyn school girls?' The Archaeologist says as he enters the room.
'Well, well, well, what have we here?' He says making his way over to the hieroglyphs. He runs his hands over the carvings until he gets to the defaced parts and tuts softly to himself. 'Some people have no respect for history or art.'
He turns his attention to the scrawlings across the shrine. 'What were you so angry about?' He says studying the rough graffitti.

@Varisia - 3 years ago? Clearly not an Osirian elder from the plague then. Not sure if you want to comment on this.
Varisia James |
I'll leave that up to the lead medical examiner
'Well, that do you think Zohreh? Did he die before or after his haircut?' He returns the corpse to it's sitting position and dusts off his hands.
