Elite Advance

Due to Brother Castil's efforts aboard the ship and his aiding Inquisitor Van Vuygens, the Kill-Team receives the free elite advance Tyranid Savant. Any time the Kill-Team rolls a Lore Skill involving Tyranids they can reroll recalling the wisdom of the sometimes overly studious Inquisitor Van Vuygens.

Remember for those of you engaged in melee with the creature that you should be pulling down +20 to your WS for outnumbering it 3-to-1. If you also bothered to pick up Double Team then that bonus is even greater.

Then I would hit with the second roll then for my WS would be 70.

Correct, unless there are some unknown penalties that I'm unable to take into account or the DM opts not to retcon the miss.

Psyniscience test

Is this based purely on Perception? Any bonuses from heightened senses or our gear?

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

I believe it is based on will power. I will check the book later and confirm.

Nimon wrote:

I wish it were, but its Perception, so wondering what bonuses if any would apply?

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Since this is dealing with the Warp, I do not see how the devices in the helmets assist with that. this seems more of an innate thing. The bonuses to senses are very specific-Sight/Sound, and this does not seem to fall under that critera. Based on that I will say you get only your skill bonus for this.

Apparently I posted twice the same thing, my .doc copy paste failed me lol. I apologize for that

Out of curiosity: what became of the ratlings? Did they get lost and go down with the ship?

Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper

I assume that Castil and I don't get the XP/Renown from the mission we weren't on?

Brother Lucian Vartas wrote:

We might get a little for having done stuff here on the station, but no mission xp. I believe after an actual first mission starting level guys get bonus xp to help catch them up, as per the GMs original post.

Anyways, good mission fellas. Looking forward to joining the team next time out.

Always good to have some more people around.

I guess we should have escort them also.

You get full Exp/renown, and those on mission get the Elite Advance and get to be in the know about things you did.

The ratlings were slaves caught during a raid. They had escaped during the exchange with the Pious Immolation and were working with salvaged gear hiding from the denizens of the traitor vessel. They tried to follow Brother Leon's directions, but without an escort they fell to the many pitfalls that ship had to offer.

Vote for MVP To new players this is based on what ever criteria you want, it is appreciated if you give a reason with your vote.

The Following players receive an Honorable Mention, or can recover a burned fate point for the following criteria

Best Role-Playing: Brother Elyas Due to Brother Elyas' characteristics he rarely speaks. This can be a drawback when determining best Role Playing, but if done well on a consistent basis I will take notice. The main reason Brother Elyas is getting it this time, is he waits for orders. Even when he might know a good course of action and I am sure it can be frustrating not to just charge or do something he knows how to do , he allows the leader to play the leader. That is being a good soldier. I do notice that the rest of you do this also, but I know especially in this instance, that Brother Elyas waited for orders despite really wanting to engage the ratlings and see what was up there.

Best Kill: Brother Leon This is pretty easy because due to the efficiency of Brother Lutha's team, there was really only one hard encounter. Brother Leon's kill of the Chaos Spawn with his surprisingly strong Servo Arm was the best kill of this short mission.

Best Use of Fate Point: Brother Del In this instance it was Brother Del, using it to render aid to the Sister of Battle made for a quick recovery of that team.

Additional Rewards
Brother Lutha you actions caught the eye of Daysha and she will make herself available to you as a point of contact to the Offico Assassinorum.+20% To fellowship based interactions with Daysha, and increased Degrees of Success when seeking information on certain missions that require investigations when the Pious Immolation is in Orbit, or Daysha is planet side.
Brother Leon By observing the Ritual of Cleansing you have increased insight into dealing with Dark/Heretical Technology receive +5% to Tech-Use when dealing with such devices, however some devices will still require the Dark or Heretical Tech Lore Skill. I will make those available to you for 200 xp each if they are not yet in your progression.
Brother Del your swift aid to the Seraphim and your chapter's reputation has endeared her to you. When dealing with Sisters of Battle from the Pious Immolation you will receive +5% to fellowship based skills.

I stand happily corrected.

In your case Castil and Brother Del, not only do you get exp for this mission, but now that you were part of one mission you get brought up to the aprox EXP of the team. I will have to get back to you on how much that is unless one of the players has that information on hand.

Some people are at rank two, so I'll build up to there until you get final xp count.

Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper

I make the current total 4075xp, including the starting 1000xp. I hope that meshes with everyone else.

Looking back at my xp tracker Castil would have 8,375 xp to spend. However, I haven't gone back and dug through the AARs to find out the actual totals not counting character specific bonus xp.

Usually you guys post some role play for your xp expenditure, but it'll be hard to work in such a high amount well. I'll try my best.

It's certianly not any kind of required, it's just something I like to do and it also helps keep the recruitment thread active.

I'd recommend rolling multiple related advancements into one piece of RP as well as drawing heavily on your characters backstory.

Darn. I had hoped they would be able to get to the landing bay seeing as they had managed to wander around the ship thus far. I was worried about the possibility of the talks drawing out too long and us being overrun in such a place.

Valerio will take it hard, seeing it as a personal failure, but I'll survive.

Now I have to think about how to spend this xp

Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper

Yeah, I epically undercounted. I've spent 8100, and saved 75.

Funny how I lead but never get a honorable mention hahahaha, but I get everyone else to have one XD, guess that is a mention in itself of good eladership.

Arkhos you got an honorable mention on Phyrr

Yes I know, I do get some love, but like I said I am just happy that my troops are getting the recognition which reflects upon the leader.

Yehey!!! I will build up my character to Rank 2 ;-)

PM about any of these that you want and the justification for them

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Let's make it 8,000 xp for Brother Del/Brother Castil. I know I had given out some extra exp to others so they may have 100-500 more depending.

I've updated the Alias page with xp spent and began to piece some history together. Just need to wait for a reply from PM and then I'll lay out the final update and expanded history. Didn't realize how expensive playing a Psyker would be. Oh well, seems like it'll be helpful to the team and able to hold his own. I just worry about my lack of skills at this point...but not much xp left after buying Psy ratings and powers.

It's late now, I'll take a look at some of your sheets (if I can find them, some people haven't updated their alias page with info)See what skill we might be lacking and consider dropping a psy power to fill any gaps we might have. If someone has a suggestion, let me know.

Castil, this alias has a fully updated profile. Also, do you want suggestions for mechanics or fluff?

Brother Lutha Hallan wrote:

Both would be welcome. I've just checked peoples pages, but its nearly 6am, need to get some rest.

First all, sorry about the cybernetic answer in Recruitment, should be this alias and OOC, but too late to edit. Second, updated my alias sheet and xp spent. Thanks to brother Lutha for his advice.

Dark Angels Assault Marine

I just quickly glanced at your sheet. One of the things I like librarians to have are some of the forbidden lores not available to others. WE will likely need guidance on warp or daemonic questions at some point in this adventure.

Does Hatred stack with say Slayer of Daemons or Scourge of Heretics?

Brother Del wrote:

Unless it says specifically that it does not, than it does stack. I will double check here soon.

Dark Archive

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human Dungeon Master

I do not see anywhere that hatred does not stack with those abilities, so that should be fine. If you get close you should be doing well if you have those.

To be Clear, you can be a criminal in this game without being a "Heretic".

A Heretic is: A Human that either worships/uses the dark powers, or uses/worships Xenos technology. HereTEKs fall under this category also if they are using banned robotic technology or dark tech.

Examples of Criminals that are not Heretics
A greedy Politician

A Witch that does not follow chaos or xenos(potential to fall to one or the other is great and eventually this might happen, but not right away)

A hive gang not motivated by the previous mentioned criteria

Usually it is clear in the mission, or in my descriptions if you are facing heretics.

Male Crimson Fists Techmarine

Sorry everyone for being absent for a few days. I just had a pretty hectic move into a new apartment, which had more than a few unexpected turns. Now I'm in the new place, but it's going to be without internet for a few days. I can post from work and from my phone, but it's going to be spotty at best.

No worries Leon life happens.

Thought I pressed saved last night when I updated the Alias, but guess not. Just updated for sure this time, integrating the stories, but not done yet. Gotta run to a BD party. More tom fellas. Have a good weekend.

Sorry to hear. Hope everything works out.

I'd step up if I had ever gm'd or played a game of death watch...Anyone else confident? I might start a thread looking for one if everyone would like to continue playing.

I could help, I'll just retire Arkhos I will have to cook something up through out the day for it tough, while Nimon recovers.

Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper

Sorry to hear that Nimon, I think I speak for all of us when I say that we are all really enjoying the game, and that we hope you feel better soon.
