Foeboks chanting grows triumphant, and a twisting, mind-wrenching glow wreathes his hand as he reaches out and almost gently touches Marcos chest. Suddenly, Marco stiffens with pain, as his eyes roll up into their sockets, showing only the whites - Marco is blinded! He then takes up his claymore in both hands and swings at Darius with a spittle flecked roar. The brutal sword slams into the guardsmans armor, striking sparks from the metal studs, but not penetrating. Mead dashes to Crows side and feeds him an elixir, mending the deepest of his wounds but still leaving many open and bleeding. "Don't worry so much about the rest of us so much that you get yourself killed, hero." She then turns to Foebok and threatens: "Kiss yer life goodbye because you have seconds to live."
With a mighty "YaaOOOOaah!", Crow charges headlong at the nearest crossbowman, who along with the rest are frantically reloading their weapons. As Crow nears them he sees the short blades attached to the crossbows stocks - bayonets!

darius:
Foebok has taken a Step, and will make Flanking more difficult (Marco will need to take a Standard Move). However, Marco is Blinded, (-8 to attack, +2 to be hit, flat-footed) so that may change your actions. If you like.

Meh, he goes around and tries to hit anyway. It's either that or total defense and he does still have 31 vitality.

Darius fights where he stands, his first swing being blocked by Foeboks claymore. He gets a shoulder up in time to deflect a vicious elbow strike, then gets a smashing blow to the shamans head, cracking one of his horns and drawing blood. Marco staggers around to Foeboks side and swings his baton forcing the beast to defend himself again. The creature seems to revel in the blood, even his own. Gristle ends his charge in the face of one of the crossbowmen, warhammer ready. Ferment lets loose another beer fume cloud, but the breeze carries it astray. The drake is forced to abandon his position and stealthily flies over to ambush another pair of beastmen.

Yay!

Foebok throws a series of blows at the blinded Marco, forcing him to defend himself frantically. The effort leaves him panting for breath. The shaman then steps around Darius slashing as he goes, gashing the guardsman low in the torso with a spray of arterial blood splattering greenery with red. Mead makes a move towards a group of crossbowbeastmen, hurling her boomerang as she goes, but the creatures duck easily and the weapon sails on. Crow finishes his charge, Barron swooping in to cover his flank. Ghostbreaker smashes a beastman into the tree he hides behind, leaving a red smear decorated with bits of hair. The remaining beastmen manage to keep their fear from overcoming them and continue to reload, though the closest one breaks and lunges at Crow with the bayonet on his crossbow, missing cleanly.
On the other side of the fight, Darius steps around to Foeboks back and methodically swings at him with his baton, keeping Foebok moving. The blinded Marco steps towards the sound of combat and continues to try and connect but fails.
Near another pair of beastcrossbowmen, a mysterious cloud of beery breath billows out above their heads, and the flapping of wings announces Ferments move away.

Foebok continues to circle Darius, placing distance between himself and the blindly flailing Marco. He changes tactics, giving Darius pause by assaulting him with a flurry of blows, designed to force the guardsman on the defensive.
Juniper waits just long enough to snap her boomerang on it's return trip then heads towards the pair just now finishing reloading. With more than a bit of a hail mary she throws the weapon. The crossbowbeastman ducks behind his tree and it sails past.
Crow shouts, "Barron! Clover!" as he turns to face the beastman right next to him and bashes away as Baron distracts his opponent, trying to turn the beastie into a furry pancake. "Jun, watch out! Bolts 'er gonna be flyin' soon." Barron flaps around distracting the beastman and Crow crushes his ribcage, eliciting a gout of dark blood from the creatures mouth. It dies, clutching its crossbow and drowning in its own fluids.
Crow then turns and rushes the next pair, who finish reloading and loose their bolts at the charging warrior. One goes wide, but the other nearly takes Crows head off. The last pair take aim at Mead, out in the open and she is forced to jink hard to avoid getting hit.
Darius manages to get a few swings in against the furious assault of the shaman, but Marco is unable to connect, his eyes still rolled up in their sockets, shooting pain through his head.
Ferment repositions invisibly, while Gristle move to engage the last pair, seeing that Crow will likely quickly destroy his targets.

Crow dispatches the two crossbowbeastmen as expeditiously as possible with a short efficient move and massive blows powering through their armor and defenses as if they were made of paper and turns to aid Darius and Marco (making a hopeful assumption here). Mead then moves closer and throws her boomerang but again the tree is in the way of her shot. Crow almost casually crushes the two crossbowbeastmen he faces with wet, crunching sounds.
The remaining beastmen fight desperately, almost frenzied; one takes swipes at Barron with his bayonet, while the other charges from cover, clumsily stabbing at the dwarf, Gristle. They appear relatively untrained in close combat. Darius rolls back to his feet and attacks, but the blow is short. Blind Marco continues to doggedly flail at the air between Foebok and himself. Yep, steady vitality damage with each hit. Since vitality damage is just wearing down your combat endurance, the descriptions reflect that.

Not anymore, I moved 5ft W for Crow, neither of us have flanking right now so that Crow has a space to flank with me when he arrives. You know, since he goes before me so I have to move this turn. Anyways, we can get on with combat if you want. Marco continues to flail away.

Hm, just didn't quite remember. Thanks.

Barron pecks viciously at a beastman, who desperately tries to fend off the large bird with his bayonet. Foebok continues to circle Darius with flurries of blows designed to wear him out. Mead and Crow move to assist the guardsmen.
Gristle blocks and dodges a series of jabs from a crossbowbeastman, fighting back with swings of his battle scarred warhammer.
Darius and Marco maneuver around the shaman, and pelt him with blows, Darius forcing Foebok on the defensive.

Barron - miss.
Foebok - step and Tire Darius twice - both fail.
Mead - double Standard move towards Darius and Marco.
Crow - double Standard move towards Darius and Marco.

Not quite the repositioning that I meant but, in hindsight, Marco does need the flanking more than me.
Marco stumbles around Foebok (actually a description of last turn) and swings at the shaman as well as he can. Darius steps aside for Crow before continuing his assault. "Hey, Crow, want to do the honors?" Somehow, I get the feeling that Crow, with a huge hammer is going to take him out pretty fast followed by looking at me wondering what took me so long with the pushover.

Actions soon.

Crow merely smiles, "Jun, stay righ' b'hin' me please, th's guys dang'rus." He moves adjacent to the shaman, but instead of immediately attacking, he enters a familiar battle stance. "So, Shaman, wha' brings yer kin' here, 'ey?" his question and easy demeanor meant to show his opponent his confidence in their coming engagement despite the wounds he's already suffered.

Round 8:

action1: move to engage Foebok, in available flanking position
action2: enter "Turn the Millstone" stance

Darius: maybe, maybe not. Foebok is a named opponent and therefore operates under different rules than the others. But yes, the magic hammer may help.

Juniper smiles at the guardsman who moved out of her way (assuming it is the one that can see). She flicks the boomerang at the shaman, at the same time, "What is so important that you all came to our part of the mountains to die?" The question cold, the conclusion forgone.

Barron draws blood from the crossbowbeast with his razor sharp beak, amid a flurry of black feathers.
Forbok, seeing reinforcements coming lays into Darius with his claymore, numbing Darius' hands as he blocks the huge blade.
Mead flicks the boomerang at the shaman, at the same time, "What is so important that you all came to our part of the mountains to die?" The question cold, the conclusion forgone. Foebok glances over Darius' shoulder at her, teeth bared in emotion.
Ferments breath weapon is once again stymied by the forest breeze, yeah thats it, the breeze thinks the drake.
"Blood. Blood and souls. Your mine will belong to us. Your people will belong to us. You are as the buzzing of flies before Khorne, the Blood God!"
The remaining archers battle fiercely with their opponents, Gristle parrying the bayonet with a sneer. There suddenly is a sharp cry of pain and anguish, as the other crossbowbeast lunges forward, impaling Barron through the breast. His chortle of victory is drowned out by the loud, last caw of Barron, his eyes only on Crow as the light fades away from him.
Marcos eyes grate back down in their sockets, dry, red, and painful, but he is able to see again.

combat:

Barron hits archer3 for 4 dmg.
Foebok steps and attacks Darius twice, hitting and inflicting 7 and 1 vitality. Darius' parry on the 1st attack hit DC 5.
Ferment breathes and misses, moves 10 ft. and becomes hidden.
Mead misses with her boomerang, but succeeds with her Threaten vs Foebok.
Crow moves up to Foebok and enters his stance.
Archer 4 misses Gristle.
Archer 3 hits Barron for 4 lethal, Barron goes down.
Darius hits Foebok twice for 4 and 6 penetrating dmg.
Marco misses once, funbles on the second, (activated), drops his baton. (half action to pick up.)

Mead runs to Barron. And is thus flat-footed at the end of it I think.

With a glance at Mead, already running towards Barron, Darius assaults Foebok with new ferocity. Hadn't known Barron for very long but he was helpful and a friend. Marco, eyes starting to water, focus, and clear, blinks a few times and looks at his surroundings again, taking in the scene unfolding around him before picking up his baton and hammering at Foebok again.

Crow snarls, "Damn your kind. You have sealed their death warrant! Your god wants blood and souls? I shall give them to him. Yours!" Foebok throws his arms wide and froths at Crow, "Come to me warrior, embrace your destiny! Your fury and thirst bring you closer to Khorne!!" The shaman swings his claymore with wild abandon throughout, blood and hair matted blade striking sparks off of Darius and Crows armor. Mead shoots Foebok a quick glare and turns to dash over to the fallen Barron. Crow, face gone pale with shock over the death of his friend, attacks Foebok with renewed fury. His first mighty swing impacts with a crunch of bone and dented iron armor, forcing a gout of blood from Foeboks mouth. His second blow is barely parried, a pop signalling the dislocation of a joint in the shamans arm.
Meanwhile Gristle battles one of the remaining crossbowbeastmen to a standstill, giving nor taking any ground. The friend-killer looks up at Meads approach, and stabs out with his bayonet, still dripping with the life-blood of Barron. Mead is forced to abruptly halt her headlong rush to Barrons side, leg muscles screaming in protest.
Sparing a glance for Mead as she runs towards the fallen Barron, Darius assaults Foebok with new ferocity. His baton blurs through the air, hits drawing grunts of pain from the shaman. Marco, still blinking tears from his tortured eyes, retrieves his baton and swings but cannot connect.

Combat:

Foebok hits Darius, no pen

Mead runs to Barrons location, becomes flat-footed

Crow hits Foebok with a crit, for 7 wounds, Fort save pass

With that, Crow swings once, forcing Foebok to duck under his swing, setting him up for the second; a crushing blow to the head that cracks the shamans skull like an egg. Foebok falls like a poleaxed cow, and bleeds messily into the forest detritus, twitching. Mead, preoccupied with tending to the fallen Barron pays too little attention to the beastman next to her, and is forced back, scrambling backwards on her butt to avoid the stabbing bayonet, Barron inert in her lap dripping with healing fluid.
