I live in Ct and thus my loose power due to Hurricane Terrorist Cell Sandy. If I do, I have no idea when I'll be back. I will try to post stuff today just in case.
Slowdown is due to the fact that I was wrestling with a sick 7-month old all weekend, who was producing excrement that came out at about Dublin Bay 3 on the Dulux colour chart.
He got admitted to hospital today with pneumonia (hopefully just a couple of days stay - our eldest has had a couple of bouts of it and bounced back pretty quick) and I've been running interference with our eldest and so forth. Worst part so far was watching the doctor trying to hit a vein when putting in the IV for antibiotics... she stuck him three separate times - digging around each time with the needle and still couldn't hit a vein. Ended up giving up and falling back on oral antibios for now.
Will hopefully only take a couple of days to get past it and back into the swing of things - but just wanted you guys to know that I'll be out of action DM wise during that time.
My apologies for the lack of posts. I am currently working two jobs for the duration of the holiday season, and between that and keeping up on various chores, it's a bit hard to find the energy some days to keep up on my pbp games as I would like to.

Would you allow the patch to be applied with a touch attack if the target is unaware? (not just flat footed, but actually doesn't know someone is threatening them)
I know this is a really old question made new again, but I finally got around to tracking down the spellbook wish I had made last year. All it took was a quick search of just this thread.
At this point, can I have all of the 1st and 2nd level spells I asked for in my current spellbook? I can repost the list again later today.

Hmm. Maybe I'm getting house rules mixed up with real rules.
I thought that Stealth was done against a static DC of 10+ the target's Perception, modified by conditions like light levels.
I thought it wasn't an opposed role unless they were actively alert and looking for people. (I guess that's not a stretch for people on guard duty to be "actively looking")
A common shortcut is to have the watchers just take 10 on the Perception check - which gives the 10 + Perception mod DC. I generally prefer to have it as an opposed check as it puts a little more randomness into it.
By my own admission I have been pretty suck-worthy as a DM recently due to a wild storm of sick children, busy holiday period and what not. It is also getting to that time of year - where Christmas Cheer is being spread and my Clan will begin their sojourn down to Australia for the purposes of familial visitation and such. Given that we'll be doing the holiday thing, it will curtail my ability to get on the net, and make DMing PbPs impossible for that period.
So with that in mind - I'm going to stick the campaign on ice for a few weeks while I travel down to Australia, and look to getting back up and running on the 10th of January (after my return to Malaysia).

Honestly, Doc's the tame and reserved version of a character I played in a tabletop for about a year and a half.
Some Highlights of proto-Doc:
1) Used a scroll of Trap the Soul on a Shoggath at 12th level. The GM forgot I had it. We weren't supposed to fight it. Then I had a CR 19 creature in a gem. I turned it into a bomb and dropped it from near-orbit onto the fortress of a cult of necromancers.
2) Brewed about 8000 gp worth of alchemist's fire and kept the stockpile in a bag of holding. Poured the whole thing down the chimney of a wizard who had stolen a prototype from me.
3) Created a large blunderbuss that I became known for weaponizing nasty things with. Sovereign glue. Caltrops. Adamantine sling bullets. Undead scarabs. The best was a bundle of Feather Tokens. Nothing like a shotgun that fires Galleons and oak trees.
4) Built a trap that basically fired an adamantine-tipped battering ram of Throwing and Returning that weighted about 28 tons. It was designed to fit through a ring gate. Carried the other ring gate around for when I absolutely had to obliterate whatever was in front of me.
I just have been wanting to pit create pit on an arrow or two....
Which is the cheaper version of that.....

My current Ashardalon group is about to go from Forge of Fury and into Speaker in Dreams : )
