Garland looks at Duanimon as Jabaxa appears on the screen. "Yes, we retrived your files," he confirms. When Jabaxa signs off, Garland says. "We better hurry over to the Fusion Queen." Unsure of what the others have been up to, he quickly sends a group text to alert them of Zetara's location.

"I concur. Let's get moving," Duanimon replies. As they walk through the station, they copy Duravor's files into their implanted custom rig and begin to look through them.


Garland/Duanimon:
"Well well. Not bad. Fair pay for fair work. You both have 200 credits worth of chips at King Gurney's as a little bonus. Come see me again I might have more work for you later." Jabaxa ends the call. Duravor's files have are records of multiple abuses by the Astral Extractions corp against its miners and workers. There is financial records proving the Astral Extractions hired the Downside Kings to do some dirty work.


Clubbers:
The bartender looks at Scera with a grin, but it goes sour as he listens to a comm transmission. He pulls out a gun from behind the bar. "You can stay right there and not move is what you can do." At the same time a large Vesk with a heavy rifle points it at Ehron "Don't move." Lulu and Rio draw on Kov'i "Hold it right there. Scera is in melee range with the bartender, but there is a bar between you both. Ehron is 25' away from the Vesk with the double doors are right behind Ehron. Lulu and Rio are in melee range of Kov'i. The bar is to Kov'i's right, Scera is 15' from him. Ehron is 45' from Kov'i/30' from Scera.

I assume there are lots of people in the club, difficult terrain to move around? Are they freaking and running?


The Club patrons seem only amused. Most of them are probably on a wanted list somewhere in the galaxy. "A wretched hive of scum and villainy" They might show a bit of surprise when someone is shot next to them, but will continue to party as if it was par for the course. Between you and Vrokilaya there is no difficult terrain, the patrons know better than to mess with those doors. Kov'i is right next to Lulu and Rio so no difficulty there, but beyond that yes. Behind Scera is a lot of patrons also if she decides to disengage will be difficult terrain.

Looking down at the vesk before him, but who probably outweighs him, Ehron makes a small calming gesture. "I'm sure there is a mistake here. I know you are doing a job, but can we calm things down a little. What are you after, I'm sure arrangements can be made."

Duanimon backs up the files on a cloud service. "We should get to this Fusion Queen as fast as possible. I admit to a lack of experience in these sort of matters, but it sounds like Zetara could be in trouble." They pick up their pace to a jog, on the lookout for any public transportation which could get them to the Queen faster.

As no fighting had begun yet Scera decided that her best choice, for now, was to do exactly as the bartender ordered. She kept her hands flat on the bar and otherwise made herself as non-threatening as she could.

Zetara looks around quickly to see if there is anything here that 1. She can use as a weapon, 2. To see if her missing kits are here so she can get them back, and 3. Anything else that looks interesting or valuable

Scera wanted to resist when the binders were attached, she didn't want to be enslaved again but she felt better that than death, the bartender pulled her arms towards him more when he cuffed her and then even further forward so he could attach them to the bar on his side. This left Scera in a very awkward and vulnerable position and the bartender a rather nice view of her assets from the front and everyone else a view of those from behind as it forced her up onto her toes as she was stretched forward partway over the bar.

Holding his hands out, raised by his side in response to the vesk's orders Ehron responds while turning. "Hey, I know where my money isn't good, I'll be leaving now all peaceable like before we ruin the atmosphere of this nice establishment." He further attempts to discombobulate the guard while proceeding to where his gear was left at the entrance.

Scera was worried at the position she had been put in and the lack of anything seeming to happen. She could only hope that the others figured something out as she looked at the bartender in worry as best she could. She wasn't sure what more she could do at the moment but wait and hope this ended better than she expected.

"Fine then." as Kov'i began his initiative, the light level in the nearby area seemed to raise slightly; not enough to be harsh, but it definitely made things easier to see. As this was going on, a mote of darkness rose out of one of his hip pouches and entered his armor, diffusing it into darkness of the blackest night.

finally armored thusly, Kov'i will reach out and grab one of the knives from Rio. Which will provoke.

There is no firing into melee penalty in Starfinder but there is cover. Ehron got crit btw, Nat 20, another 1d10 damage and 1d6 burning at the start of Enron’s turn. Did he get the equipment held at the door last round? Assuming he isn’t unconscious of course.


Scera heard the order to fire again and the guard accept it this time, she heard the weapon discharge, and she somehow knew that it had hit it's mark. It was happening to her again, the people she was coming to care about were dying again and she was powerless to stop it. She started to cry as she felt the fear at what she now knew was to come wash over her.

You can move 10' to collect your things while they are distracted.

Heading back for his gear, Ehron hears the orders come through despite his convincing the heavily armed vesk. Side stepping to place a display with a huge bowl of jello between them doesn't save Ehron from the lance of light, but the puff of steam from the bowl being converted to vapor seemed to have helped. Never the less he sags in pain as the laser still sears a large portion of one shoulder. With a grimace of pain he takes the last to distance eating strides and plucks his weapons from a huge distance. His long and thin arms going past the door staff to return him to an armed state.

Hoping the crowd will give him some cover he turns to assess the situation this has turned so quickly. "Kov'i, why not use those heavy vesk claws of yours? I don't think we can go for finesse here anymore." he calls to his friend.

Barely reclaiming pistol and knife from the security station, Ehron turns only to be hit with a second blast from the large laser canon. His nervous system shorting out, he collapses down into crowd with a spasm.

With a quiet groan he regains consciousness reaching for a serum at his belt and quietly drinking it while remaining prone amongst the cover of the crowd.

Scera was shocked that the Kasatha would risk himself to free her, of course she knew what he wanted of her and it gave her an idea on how to get the others out of here alive. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and said, "Please, help me save my friends and I'll reward you once we're safely away from here." Her tone of voice and hand on her chest gave ample evidence of the reward she promised, one she'd follow through with too, as she moved and began to head towards Eron.

I take it I can't reach Ehron and heal him this turn?

Zetara casts Overheat, gathering all the heat in the area and launching it in a 15 foot cone at Ferani and anyone else in the area (she moves forward to get in range if Ferani's charge didn't bring her within range of the spell). She aims to avoid hitting kitchen staff if possible, but the main idea is to burn Ferani.

Overheat damage: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 8) = 11

Reflex save for half damage, but I am not sure how to do DCs in Starfinder. In Pathfinder the DC would be 15 (10 + ability mod + spell level)--same?

Bartender 3 The bartender decides this fight isn't for him and runs out with the kitchen staff as the fire alarm begins to blare.


Round 5 There is a fire alarm going off and people are running out of the building now. There is sprinklers going off from the ceiling. Everywhere is difficult terrain except for the kitchen where Zetara and Ferani are fighting.

It lists the DC for Phrenic spells in the rulebook as the same as Pathfinder (which would make it 15), but for regular spells it might be the "key ability" DC instead, which says "the saving throw DC for foes to resist your class features (if appropriate) is equal to 10 + half your class level + your key ability score modifier." On that even if we round down for level, the DC would still be 14, because Intelligence is the Key score for a technomancer, and my mod is 4. I really don't know which one it is, but I think either way you figure it, Ferani should take full damage.

Yeah she takes full damage, I actually just read that wrong, I was reading the 27 from the intimidate above.

Zetara's former action:

Been trying to decide what Zetara would do, since one more hit like that will kill her... I think she has to keep fighting. Ferani is in the way of her only way out, and there is nowhere to run. She could pull the pin on the grenades and mess up the place further, but overheat does more damage, and she doesn't really want to kill anyone. And she already tried talking ... Ferani would just hit her again... so, fight it is. If she dies, it was a short, but fun ride. :)

Zetara takes a 5 foot step back does Starfinder have that? (Sorry at work, so can't look it up immediately.) and casts Overheat again.

Overheat damage: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11 <--I think the DC is 15 for Reflex save: half damage

Oh, crap. I was typing at the same time Kov'i posted. Didn't know he was coming into the kitchen. If I can change my action, she casts energy ray instead (still taking the guarded step), so she doesn't kill Kov'i:
