You access the console. It is locked out and you need either a passcode or a DC 35 Comp use check. You are permitted to take this check apart from the previous you took to get this current result. Best you can tell, this console is for the power regulation and configuration of the big dish just outside. From the looks of the information you can access, this dish appears to be the master communications array for Nym's whole empire. It keeps all of Nym's assets connected over great distances.
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Koh's bulbous eyes glowed in the light of the console and he let out a low key whistle.
Fwheeeooo....bucket of bolts but we could do some damage from righ there. This console runs that dish out there. This is the Comm hub of all of Nym's Empire!..but...I need a password. This joint is delicate and beyond my talents. Yayo, we gotta score that password.
the Nautolan leans back as iff they have all the time in the world with his long fingered hands behind his tentacled head.
Then again I could try to hotwire it but that will most likely be highly risky. I don't need to tell you all what happens if I wreck it do I
Jarl Tehnos |
Jarl will nod to Venkru and cover the right side door listening to determine if any noise comes from the other side.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
If he hears nothing he will turn to Jaira, "If Kloh can do major damage here I think it is worth the risk, agreed?"
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Dont look they wrote it down...unfortunately. here's a couple more security passes.
Kloh holds them out for whoever wants them and tucks the cred chit away to be split up later along with a vibrodagger in case nay more quiet work was needed.
Right looks good.
The Nautolan held his blaster ready and waited for the group to move out.
Shanosuke |
Sorry for the dely. I'm a little worried I only got three players left but I'll push us on and check with the other silent folks.
Venkru opens the door. Just beyond is a long hallway. Halfway down on the left is a door and just a few feet further on the right is another door.
The hall goes on several more feet to a door and the end of the hall and a another hallway veering left.
Right at the door at the end of the fall you see a human female talking to two Nikto guards. Also halfway down the hall heading in your direction are two small Uhgnuts carrying tool chests. They are too busy yammering with one another to notice you at the moment.
You have a few minutes to decide what to do.
Jaira Kizur |
"Close the door, let's check this way real quick, if there are also people this way we can always call out to those people as though we are supposed to be here and "discovered" these dead guards. Might give a moment or two to advantage ourselves with a little careful maneuvering. If they ask we are a repair team and were supposed to fix a few hiccups with the power system to the main dish. If we are impossibly lucky they will believe us and give us access. Not that it would happen, but you never know."
Jaira checks the names of the two dead guards and the one on her shiny new security pass, just in case.
Shanosuke |
Sorry for the delay, I was kind of waiting to see other ideas but I guess there are none.
The guards are wearing merc cloths meant for built men and their armor is the padded vest and helmet variety.
Since Nym isn't running a military organization, his men are not prancing around in fancy uniforms. They are mercs in random rugged garb and they don't have name tags on. However, they do have identification on them.
One of the guards is a Twi'lek name Pwa'Li
The other is a Weequay named Gebath.
The only thing "uniform" on these two is an emblem patch they wear on the shoulders of their outfits. Donning their cloths gives you Nym's unintended stamp of approval.
Jaira checks the next door. The hallway is built similar except the end of this hallway leads to some kind of open area, a cargo area, you'd need to get closer to see more details.
There are two guards looking though a large pane window out at the communications dish. There are obviously more people in the cargo area as you can hear them working and shouting orders.
You know whats up, whats the plan?
Jaira Kizur |
Jaira grabs a jacket from one of them that has the patch on it. "Let's stuff these guys into the vent we came out of. Then we can had further into the base looking for the mainframe, or we can hit the comm dish. I know my opinion, but are there any particular ideas for hitting one or the other first?"
Jarl Tehnos |
Wow, that is a terrific roll!
Jarl stays towards the back of the group with his blaster hidden under the pen jacket. Hopefully if someone spots the group from behind they will see the patch and not get too curious.
Shanosuke |
AH! TORIN IS STILL WITH US! Saints be praised!
There are signs posted but are written in huttese. Two are posted on the right door say.
This way to medical
This way to control center.
There are two behind you from where you came.
This way to Barracks
This way to Mess Hall
There are three posted on the left door.
This way to Garage
This way to Maintenance
This way Droid docking station

As you push down the right hallway you pass by the Ughnauts with little trouble. They seem to preoccupied with their conversation to care even who you are. As you make your way down the down the hall the two guards from earlier are heading in your direction. The female is at the end of the hall. She looks in your direction, suddenly she looks puzzled and briskly begins to make her way in your direction.
How do you respond. Remember, Halfway down on the left is a door and just a few feet further on the right is another door.
The hall goes on several more feet to a door and the end of the hall and a another hallway veering left.
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh groaned inwardly at the sight of the two guards headed their way. And started jabbering in tech speak to throw them off.
Look, Im sure I said that we had to go to the control room first and then maintenance. The PF-X4 Inverter Couplings have to be aligned from Control out not the other way around or else the phases could buck when the data stream hits the Network cores and fry the whole system. Then the Processor drives will need to be scrubbed and rebooted and that will take everything offline for hours...at best if not days. Who's going to answer for that? Not me, no sir, not me. There better not be any more delays or I'm going to make a report to the big guy about incompetence.

The door to the left seems to lead out into the courtyard where the dish and other generators and miscellaneous technical stations. You would barely reach the door before the woman reaches you. However, she seems dead set on confronting you. Even if you did make it outside, she is likely to follow you regardless. You have no choice but to confront you.
The guards pass you by but before you reach the nearest door the woman calls out. "Hey you lot! I don't remember any Nautolans in our service! Who are you!?" She has a pistol in her hand and a vibroblade in the other. The two guards behind you now have their attention redirected back to you.
Jaira Kizur |
It had been my idea to drag the confrontation somewhere private, but oh well.
"These guys are new, I'm showing them around the various posts they could be stationed at. You're welcome help drill in any pet peeves if you like. I don't believe I've met you yet, who are you?" Jaira talks seriously, in her captain's voice.

She examines you cautiously. She is tall wearing tight ribbed pants and a matching ribbed jacket with a button up semi white undershirt. Her long black hair is tied into a ponytail that runs down to the small of her back. She would have a very lovely complextion if not for a single scar that runs from just above her left cheek across her face, just under the left eye and stops just over the bridge of her nose. Her physical features are very athletic and well built.
She speaks in a harsh tone to your, her eyes focused on your little group. "I am captain Dwenna Onwalds. I serve as the captain of the King's Widow and a am one of the chief lieutenants of Nym's army. I am stationed at this base for support of the war against Zedora. We are a tight nit group, I know every officer within Nym's faction by name as they know me too. Now who are you?" She has not let her guard down nor has she approached close enough for you to attempt any sudden melee actions without moving into range.
The door is just to your left and it is closed but judging from the controls at the door it isn't locked. The two guards also hold positions behind you. You outnumber them but Dwenna looks as though she won't go down easy. If you decide to fight, the alarm will be raised before you can kill her.
Diplomacy seems to have given her pause but it won't be enough on it's own, you need to bluff her into believing your one of them if you want to get by without violence.

Man, the new guy never gets a break. That Pwa'li said 'here, wear this til they get the paperwork squared' and now I'm catching flack on my first day and with the whole damn 404 Error syntax about to disrupt the biometric bandwidth service...we dont have time for this...
Kloh didnt stop walking towards the door as the woman questioned them. He figured the jig was up and was hoping they could at least get out of the limelight... before blasters started...well, blasting...
Venkru Vong |
Venkru casually removes his helmet...
"And how many Mandalorians or as some say Mando'a ; the Mando'ade, or 'Children of Mandalore' are here?"
"We are trouble shooters an work without rank, often we remain totally unseen. This is a case of no name and no art. The problem here is technical."
"Security protocols are not in place for you to know who we are."

Shanosuke |
Kloh failed and none of you has enough of a bonus to bluff to convince her otherwise no matter what the dice result. Hehe, this group sucks at lying.
Dwenna looks unconvinced. "Guards these people are intruders arrest them." The two guards train their blasters on you as Dwenna steps back putting away her blade and pulling out the comm. Seeing Kloh moving to the door she calls out. "Stay where your are!"
At this point you can either let yourselves be arrested or take action. I've rolled initiatives and the baddies will be going before you in order of actions. That is if you take action that would initiate combat, feel free to take your actions but keep in mind the enemy goes first so if you choose to fight, post two actions and I will use the one that applies. If the actions you take don't really work then I will post the enemies actions and ask you to reposts
This is funny because I don't know if your running or fighting or if you are just going to try and do this without a fight. So go ahead.
Jaira Kizur |
"Quiet!" She barks to Venkru and Kloh. Turning to look at the officer, "We are not intruders, these are some new guys, we got redirected here after the attack planetside. You could at least take us to security and verify, rather then jumping to conclusions."
Why did he have to go spouting names when we have no idea who they belong to or what those people did? Did Pwa'li do a job where he might say such a thing? That lady's response makes me think not.
Shanosuke |
Dwenna seems confused for a moment as she looks into Jaira's eyes. She then slowly puts away her comm and blaster while still staring at Jaira. "Yeah, we should do that."
Dwenna straightens up. She then turns and starts to walk. "Come with me, we are going to security for verification." She begins to lead you. She also makes no request for you to be unarmed as she does so.
You follow her down the hallway. For a while she is leading you in the direction of the control room but veers down an opposite hallway when you get close. Along the way you notice a good amount of security both living and synthetic.
She leads you only a little further and you enter the security offices. Immediately the first thing you notice is that the surveillance system is undergoing some kind of repair. All the screens are filled with static. This means they cannot watch the halls.
Dwenna approaches a desk and salutes. "Sergeant Varraka we are in need of some staff verification for some new recruits."
A Zabrak male sitting at the desk stands and returns the salute. "Captain Dwenna, I wasn't informed we were to receive new staff. We would have been told before they were ever permitted to arrive. How did they get here? On what shuttle. By whose orders?"
At this Dwenna looks confused. She looks down pondering. "Right, there were no new arrivals or departures over the past two days. There are no new recruits."
Dwenna and the Varraka train their gazes on you guys.
The situation has you in this security room. There are three doors and plenty of desks and stations for cover. More cover than you had in that hallway.
However, there are more foes now. Two battledroids, three armed guards, the captain, and Varraka. There are likely other guards in the area. There are two ughnauts working on the surveillance but those creatures are not known for any combat prowess. It is likely when the action starts, they will run.
Dwenna is adjacent to at least three of you. I assume one would be Jaira and the other two are Venkru and Kloh.
Varraka and Dwenna do not have their weapons out.
Because one of you fulfilled the favor I asked, I will give you guys both the surprise round and initiative for this fight.
If more of you fulfill the favor I asked, I will throw some bigger and better advantages your way as my way of saying thanks.
Jaira Kizur |
Jaira speaks calmly like she she is giving the only reasonable option,"If you'll be so kind as to leave the the room we would be grateful. I would hate to have to fire all of you, so since you are obviously outmatched Captain, why don't you order everyone from the room? I would be very pleased to not have to kill anyone, besides, they will need the time to get off the grounds before the sparks fly, and with the droids already set to switch sides in about...10 minutes, you might want to hurry."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Sense Motive on the Captain and Sergeant: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Perception to note the layout of the room and the actions of the people/droids within: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh shook his head and wondered briefly why he didnt follow after his parents and just became a deep space freighter pilot...ah, because then I wouldnt have had any fun now would I?..and this is fun...well, so far anyways...
I knew an unexpected landing would ruin this 'Surprise Inspection' but who knew we'd get here and get sidetracked by security when the whole damn broadband network relays had gone backrocket and were ready to crash? This is all going be in my report I swear unless I can get to the mainframe and start fixing it. Those argon tubes can only go vapor for so long before...
the Nautolan used his long tapered fingers to make an explosion gesture and then shrugged.

Battle commences. Surprise round was lost.
The sergeant seems unconvinced and draws his blaster rifle. The droids ready and so do the two guards. The captain seems to still be in a daze and can't seem to collect her thoughts She is suffering the confused condition
Combat has started and you guys have the initiative. Your only options at this point are to attack or surrender. Any attempt at further negotiation using bluff or diplomacy will take 10 rounds to complete. Intimidation will only demoralize the enemy.
The lies and attempts to control the current situation was up against insurmountable odds. Most lies are unbelievable at this point given security protocals are not met and higher results would have been necessary. Forgeries and better research of the facilities personnel would have been useful in this mission. Best tactic would have been to find another system console and hack it or use a datapad and a high comp check to hack the terminal you were at. Unfortunately you guys went with a last minute plan not knowing the proper protocols. Think of the time when Han and Luke dressed up as stormtroopers and took Chewbacca to the cell bay. The officer there didn't buy their story because he wasn't notified and thus a fight broke out. This is a similar scenario. Now you simply have to stand there and shoot everyone.
