Karval de Longinous |
After checking his weapons, ensuring the bikes are working & that the comms are secure - all of which although essential to ensuring the mission is a success, are really just to take his mind off the fact they've sent others to act on their orders. Karval isn't much of a soldier, but more of a free agent. And after all the deaths that've surrounded him when he's taken charge, this time he vows it to be different...
Perception: 1d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (7) + (5) = 12 Success & 2 Advantages

Arana Niss |
Arana finds a comfortable position, the n commences to hack into local surveillance systems, attempting to keep track of the other teams...

Trooper A-337, "Janitor" |
Janitor also hunkers down in a good spot, trying to keep an eye on everything at once, and still grumbling about the fact he should have brought his carbine. He keeps his blaster pistol in hand and has shifted his knives to be easily drawn if needed.
Perception: 2d8 ⇒ (5, 7) = 12
Success, Two Advantages
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 7, 7) = 21
Six Threats

Karval de Longinous |
Despite the ice-water that flows through his veins, the Mandolorean is getting a hint of apprehension about the silence. Though he trusts the other parties to fulfil their obligations and mission, the tension is rising.
He looks over to Zaleos; "It'll be alright, she'll be fine - she's done this before, many times."
Can Karval use his computer use, to monitor the systems of the rebels & maybe see if there is any potential problems or codes that are brewing? As well as potentially enhancing our own comms. in case of jamming.
Shanosuke |
Darius hasn't reported in. I am going to move this along.
As all of you do your best to keep an eye out for trouble as the other three teams move in on their objectives.
As you and your team are keeping watch, you have noticed the rebels have reinforced the area and appear to be running a sweep of the defenses. It is, however, too late to warn those sabotaging the guns as you watch the patrol move into the turrent Kyton was working on.
You all watch with anticipation wondering what the outcome will be
Karval Just an FYI, yes it is possible to substitute other skills in place of your check, however, you have to announce it prior to making the check. there are also conditions for using other skills as substitutes. Your computers for example. You would need a General Purpose scanner or other similar detection device to allow the check.
I will give this a minute if any of you wish to act on what Janitor has seen.
Trooper A-337, "Janitor" |
Surveying the area, Janitor slips into some thoughts of the last time he was here, and only notices the Rebels sweeping the area after it's too late to stop them. He grabs his pistol and dashes over to Zaleos. "Commander, a Rebel patrol sweeping the area has moved to the turret officer Kyton was moving to. Should we intercept and provide assistance?" It's clear from the clone's tone and body language that he wants to move to assist the other team.
Zaleos Buerlon |
Zaelos tears himself away from his own pleasant thoughts and nods quickly to the soldier. "Yes, we can't let them get caught by those guards." Holstering his weapons, he rises to his feet and motions to the others. "Let's go people."
Once the team has moved off, he sends a short encoded transmission to the other team leaders informing them of his team's response and warning them of possible additional Rebel patrols.
Karval de Longinous |
Karval nods and mounts up ready to intercept the rebels, his manner that of roused lion ready for the hunt. Adjusting the vibro-knife in it's sheathe as he prepares for a potential conflict or at least a diversionary tactic.
"Needs be, we can always draw the patrol away from the turret - if we approach them as if we're not attacking the turret." Karval adds.
Shanosuke |
Okay. You need to pick a skill to use to deal with the patrol. This is one of the more amusing parts of the game. This scenario can be summed up in one or two skills check but has to be executed in a cinematic fashion.
Some examples are:
Sneak up and lure them away
One stealth check vs 3 d8 and one streetwise or deception vs 2 d8. You need to be disguised to use deception.
Sneak up and ambush them
One stealth check vs 3 d8 and one combat check vs 2d8. Using ranged or gunnery upgrades the check to 1d8 and 1d12 difficulty. Rolling a despair means you were heard. You have to kill four foes. Each net success kills a foe, every two advantages kills a foe.
You can attempt to spoof their scanning equipment.
Make a Computers check vs 4d8. If you have a comm jammer you can reduce the difficulty by one. You need at least a comm and a datapad to do this, if you are missing one you suffer 2 setback. One computer check saves the day.
Use one of these. Only one player rolls while the others can attempt to assist.
To assist, a player with a rank in the skill being used gives an upgrade. If the player doesn't have a rank in the skill, they can opt to use another skill that is reasonable to give a boost (1d6) by rolling a quick check against 2d8. If the assistant scores a success with a triumph, they upgrade the next check instead.
The above choices are what I can think of. You are more than welcome to come up with your own strategy to resolve the situation. Purpose the skill combo and plan to me for approval. Remember once you roll you know the results. I leave it to you to narrate the results. I would like you to also narrate failure too. I may correct or add to it but I want to see what you come up with.
Darius Lucien |
Darius begins moving in on his foes, trying to catch them by surprise. Unfortunately, the poorly fitting uniform that he had obtained earlier on the planet did not give him full range of motion to approach as quietly as he would have liked. His speed with his blaster and two well placed shots allowed him to take out two of the patrol as they turned to see him. Seeing it's about to be two on one, Darius smiles at the challenge.
[ooc] I'm not sure if I understood the upgraded difficulty. I just added those dice as extra
stealth: 2d12 + 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 11) + (5, 6) + (6, 1) = 34 Success x 2, Adv x 5,
upgraded diff: 4d8 ⇒ (4, 8, 8, 5) = 25 Failure x 2, threat x 4
Net 1 Adv
ranged light With quick strike talent: 3d12 + 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 11) + (1) + (3) = 24 Success x 2, Adv x 3
upgraded diff: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + (5, 4) = 11 Failure, threat x 2
Net 1 Success 1 Adv
Total: 1 Success 2 Advantages
Karval de Longinous |
The low hum of the vibro-dagger fills Karvals ears as he slips it from the protective sheathe. It'd been a while since he'd had a clean combat and silence was of the utmost, the blood courses through his veins as he identifies one of the rebel guards and prepares to pounce.
Stealth: 2d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (5, 2) + (5) = 12
Difficulty: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 4, 3, 2) = 17
Keeping low, his legs pump like pistons as he swings the blade in a low arc against his opponent. Grimly determined, the Mandolorean knows that his actions may determine the fate of an entire planet and the beautiful Empress' burgeoning Empire.
Melee: 3d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 8) + (4) = 23
Difficulty: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (6) + (2, 7) = 15
Stealth is 4 failures, 2 threats - 3 Successes & advantage = 1 Failure, 1 Threat.
Melee: is 3 threats & a failure - 6 successes & 2 advantages = 5 Successes & a Threat.
Zaleos Buerlon |
Zaelos draws his own pistol and allows the soldiers to do their job. He quickly motions for Arana to watch behind them for any other approaching Rebel teams.
"I am going to see if there are any other teams nearby, so watch my back."
He stretches out his Force Sight only outwards a short distance, mindful of other Jedi that may be around, as he pinpoints the other teams...
Perception: 2d12 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 Success, Advantage.
Shanosuke, let me know what Difficulty dice I need to add here.
Shanosuke |
Sorry for the delay, at the time I didn't realize this was misunderstood. I hope you don't mind if I roll the Correction.
Darius need to roll 4 yellow die for being upgraded twice.
Revised Stealth 4d12 ⇒ (9, 4, 11, 7) = 31 4 Success 4 Advantage
Revised Dif 3d8 ⇒ (5, 3, 7) = 15 2 Failures, 3 Threat
Net = 2 Success, 1 Advantage
Revised Ranged Attack: 4d12 + 1d6 ⇒ (7, 12, 5, 9) + (4) = 37 5 Success, 2 Adv, 1 Triumph
Revised Difficulty: 1d12 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + (6) = 7 2 Threat
Net = 5 Success, 1 Triumph
Darius, Karval, and Janitor manage to sneak up on the patrol. The patrol decided to take a detour through a blind alley providing you all with a good place to jump them without having to worry about the bodies being present.
The three of you succeed at dealing with the patrol.
The stealth team returns.
You guys receive a comm message. "This is romm. We are having issues with setting up the rigging and we need another tech to assist."
Zaleos Buerlon |
No worries, Shanosuke.
Zaelos nods in satisfaction as the stealth team returns. "Well done. We don't know how long we have before the patrol is missed so let's get moving." He turns to 'look' at Arana. "Arana, can you assist Romm here?"
Shanosuke |
Romm comms back "We need a second tech in here to help set up to disable this gun. Our tech isn't good enough on his own. If you can't help then we're just going to have to break it the old fashioned way by blasting the place up. That'll get us noticed for sure. While I am ready to die for the Empire, that doesn't mean I want to if there is a better option. "
Trooper A-337, "Janitor" |
"Commander, I have mechanical training, with specialization in demolitions like this," Janitor speaks up, sliding his knife back into its sheath. "I can ride out on my own or with Arana, assist the other team with setting up the ordinance, and meet you back at the rendezvous point. If that's acceptable, of course." The trooper seems to be barely waiting for Zaleos's go, already tensed to head out.
Zaleos Buerlon |
Zaelos's face breaks out in a half-smile as both soldiers spoke up nearly simultaneously to volunteer. Such dedication! They will serve our Empress well!
He waves off their words with a small hand gesture. "Before we rush off to assist our team, it would be prudent to determine they are not under duress, as I believe radio silence was called for."
He sends a quick burst to Romm. "Understood Captain. How many techs do you require?"
Shanosuke, Zaelos is sending a coded message requesting confirmation of a duress code from Romm. In other words, he is trying to determine whether Romm has been captured by the Rebels.
Arana Niss |
Arena looks at Janitor and Darius and give both a smile "Thanks you two, but I think Janitor and I should go...two techs are better than one."
She then waits from Romm's verification to Zaleos' security check.

Darius Lucien |
Darius nods to Zaelos' order. He checks his gear to make sure it is secure, and begins to move in a manner to avoid detection. He watches the patrols and moves between their movements to avoid detection, until he arrives at Romm's location.
