Zaelos utters a few choice words in Mirilukan as he collides with the building...

Coordination check: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 7) = 14 2 Success, 2 Advantage
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (6, 7, 4) = 17 4 Threats.
Total: 2 Threats, 2 Advantages. Total damage 5 + 1 = 6 total, convert 1 damage to Strain.

He hits the ground with a grunt, feeling his shoulder explode with pain. Gasping for breath, he looks back at the wreckage of the speeders. At least they won't be able to find us now...

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Zaleos you succeeded. You managed to avoid damage. Threats and advantages cancel each other out. You have a success with two threats. So you only take 2 strain.

Holding onto Zaleos tightly as the speeder caroms through the buildings, Arana peeks over his shoulder and sees the corner of a building approaching much too rapidly...

Coordination Check:YGGG: 1d12 + 3d8 ⇒ (12) + (1, 5, 3) = 21 1 Triumph,1 Blank, 1 Advantage, 1 Success
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) = 13 1 Failure, 2 Threat

Net: 1 Triumph = 1 Success, 1 Threat = 1 Strain

The impact jars her from the speeder, her arms flying out to the side, trying to alter her trajectory. Spinning through the air, she bounces with her legs off of an air condensor, then lands in a crouch beside the smoking remains of the speeder.

Wincing a little , she slowly stands and hurries over to Zaleos, only to lookup at the sound of the other speeder also meeting a firey end.

Net Roll: 1 Failure, 2 Advantages. 4 Damage and 1 Strain.

Janitor quickly begins to lose control of the speeder after shooting out from the shuttle's small bay, desperately trying to dodge buildings and trees. He's piloting equipment based on vehicles he worked with years before, and without time to reacquaint himself, the trooper quickly finds himself headed for a tree. He has just enough time to shout "Bail!" before launching himself from the bike, but he still slams into the tree chest-first, and the wind knocks out of him as he lands heavily on the ground.

After a few moments, he gives a groan and pushes himself to his feet, a hand on his ribs to make sure they aren't broken. Wheezing air in and out of his lungs, he catches sight of Zaleos and Arana and gives a wave before glancing around his own wreckage. "Karval? Darius? You okay, brothers?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Keeping a tight grip upon the sides of Janitors speeder, the urban Mandolorean isn't excessively used to piloting such a craft. His pale tale whips in the air behind him.

Co-Ord Check: 1d12 + 2d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + (6, 4) + (4) = 18
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9

3 Failures, 1 Threat, 2 Successes, 2 Successes & 1 Advantage + 1 Success & Advantage....which may go to a 2 Success & 1 Advantage

Zaelos gingerly rises to his feet, fearing something in his body was broken. Stretching his arms out experimentally showed he was apparently just shaken up a little.

Perhaps the Force was with me there...

As Arana hurries over, he smiles weakly in reply. "I am OK. I think our ruse may actually work here , but we do need to get out of here before someone shows up to investigate." He motions for Arana to follow him. "Let's go."

Hearing Janitor's warning and having his wits about him, Darius launches off the speeder with an unnatural grace and rolls on the ground, reducing his impact to nothing more than some dirt on his clothing.

Standing up, Darius responds to Janitor and says I'm fine. It looks like you got the worst of it.

Once you all recovered from your rather rough departure from the shuttle. You are quickly able to tell your in some kind of plaza. You still need to inform Commander Tavoes that the rebels main hanger is sabotaged.

Once that is done, you need to make your way to the outer defense turrets and take them off line so that you can complete your mission and the main ground assault can begin.

Zaelos quickly scans the immediate area with his Force sight to make sure no Rebels took notice of the crash. Once finished, he motions to the others. "Let's get out of sight here. Someone is bound to investigate this crash, and we are running out of time here."

As the groups heads off, he nods to Darius. "Do you still have our portable communications kit? We still need to contact Tavoes with an updated report."

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Any one else want to post something?

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

I don't remember having that, but I'll assume I do, unless the GM says otherwise...

Darius, checks to see if the equipment was damaged in the crash. He responds, Yes, Commander.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Lol. Sure you have kit.

You make the connection and Tavoes. The holographic image of the commander appears. "Greetings, what do you have to report? "

Zaelos moves into view and addresses Tavoes. "Yes, Commander. We were successful in disabling the Rebel hanger and evading pursuit...for the moment. We are now proceeding to our final objective." He pauses for Tavoes to add anything further before finishing, "We will report once we have achieved the objective. Zaelos out."

Once Tavoes's image fades he says to the other team members, "We need to get to the turrets. How far are they from our position?"

Arana gives both Zaleos and Janitor a faux-glare, "When we have the chance, a speeder pilot refresher is in order , I think."

She then pipes down as communication with Tavoes's is initalized.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

"You found a way to take the hanger offline without a bombardment? Can you assure that the hanger won't be an issue? If so, then you and your team are far more resourceful than I initially anticipated.

Once you elaborate Feel free to RP your confirmation Tavoes continues.

"You have made your Empress proud and you will be rewarded for your efforts. I will inform the other agents and I will direct them to provide you support. We will start the invasion once you give the signal."

To figure out where to go requires either a computer check against 2 purple (d8) and 2 black (6d). You could use Streetwise against 3 purple (d8) + a boost if you have been to Bakura in your past. Player discretion

Zaelos replies, "We were able to jam the main hangar bay doors shut, trapping the Rebel ships inside. I cannot guarantee for how long however. Time is of the essence. We are already on our way to the final target."

Once Tavoes has ended the communication, Zaelos turns his attention to his datapad. "We need to locate the turrets. Let me see if I can track the location down..."

Computer check: 2d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (7, 8) + (9) = 24 2 Success, 4 advantages
Difficulty: 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + (2, 4) = 13 3 failures, 1 Threat.
Total: 1 failure, 3 advantages. Zaelos will elect to add a Boost die to ANY allied character's next skill check.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Someone else needs to try

Arana watches Zaleos over his shoulder, wincing as he makes a couple of mistakes.

"Here let me try..." she says, leaning over and tapping at the datapad.

Computer Check: 2d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (2, 6) + (2) = 10 1 success, 3 Advantage
Difficulty: 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) + (1, 5) = 13 2 Threat, 2 Failures

Net: 1 Failure, 1 Advantage.

"Arg! she says as the query bounces back ,giving only random locations.

Forgot the Boost from Darius earlier...
Boost: 1d6 ⇒ 6 1 Advantage. That gives Zaelos 4 advantages total, so he will give TWO players a Boost die. That means Arana plus one more player also gets a Boost die from Zaelos.

Boost Die: 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 1 Success

So new Net: 1 Advantage.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Lol. Anyone else? Remember You can use Streetwise instead, though not both

Janitor takes in his surroundings and tries to gauge where the group is in the city. "I've been here before... during the Clone Wars. Came to deal with some Separatists, didn't stay long because they had a good hold..." He shields his eyes with a hand and peers off down a street. "So if we're here, then..."

Streetwise: 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) + (5, 5) = 20 2 Successes, 5 Advantages
Difficulty: 3d8 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9 3 Failures, 1 Threat
Net roll: 1 Failure, 4 Advantages. ARGH

The trooper shakes his head. "No, it's been too long, and we didn't move around the entire city here." He shrugs and exhales.

I will use my Advantages to give Karval and Darius boosts; hopefully they'll succeed.

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius shakes his head, and with a laugh asks, "Did all of you bang your heads up in that crash?"

He looks over the datapad and makes a few changes in what Arana entered... "There we go!"

Computer Check: 3d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (8, 2, 8) + (5, 2) = 25 Success x 1, Advantage x 6
Difficulty: 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 7) + (5, 5) = 21 Threat x 5
Net: Success x1, Advantage x 1

Advantage to boost next check of next player

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Lol

Darius is able to pull up a readout of the city. Basically finds star wars mapquest. He finds the best route but now the question is, what is the safest way there.

You can begin your journey, you have a choice to make. One player must make a Streetwise, Stealth, or Knowledge outer rim check against 4 purple die (d8). Upgrade the ability for each ally with a rank in any of those skills.

So, who is making the check. Oh you also get a boost die from the map.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval has Know(Outer Rim)/1 & Stealth/2, but would probably not be the best to let him be the primary source of the rolls.

"Probably..." Karval curtly replies to Darius, in his usual gruff manner. Although he does rub his brow to focus himself.

Using his knowledge of the likely seedier sides of the city and where he'd expect good patrol positions or frequented highways, Karval looks at the map pointing out a couple of alleys & places that may be suitable for stealth.

Arana screws up her face at Darius' success, exclaiming "I was going to try that next!" mock punching him in the bicep.

Zaelos would attempt to assist Darius with his Stealth rolls here.

Zaelos watches over Darius as the soldier plots the group's route to their destination trying to avoid detection. He chimes in at the appropriate time, using his recent experience on the planet Malaki to draw from.

Moving closer, Arana nods at Zaleos' suggestions, pointing out a few possible approaches to the working Darius.

Assist as well....

Both Martian Level 20 invader

So whats happening?

i think Darius is waiting for a clarification in the discussion thread...

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

I'm going to assume that everyone is helping with this check, unless I hear otherwise. I also took some liberties, feel free to adjust.

Darius motions for everyone to gather around the map as he begins to suggest a path, as he goes through his suggested route, pointing out ways they can move covertly.

As he points to one part of the route, Arana chimes in and explains a slight adjustment to help them go unseen.

When reaches another area, Janitor talks about an old trick that his squad used to move through that type of area without drawing attention to themselves in a previous battle.

Listening to Zaleos talk about his experience on Malaki, leads to another improvement on the original plan.

Karval ads the finishing touches, pointing out ways to avoid detection by hiding in the alleyways and avoiding patrols.

Assisted Stealth Check: 4d12 + 2d8 + 4d6 ⇒ (7, 12, 4, 7) + (4, 3) + (2, 1, 4, 5) = 49
Triumph, Success x10, Advantage x3
Difficulty: 4d8 ⇒ (3, 5, 7, 7) = 22
Failure x2, Threat x5

Net Result: Triumph, Success x 8, Threat x 2
What types of things can we use the Triumph for to be vital to the scenario?

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius looks more closely at the map and asks the others for some feedback for some other routes that don't begin where they are but, track through other areas of the city. Once he's identified those routes, he attempts to send an encrypted burst message to the other teams on the ground who can assist with this objective.

Triumph spent

Zaelos sets up the planned route on his data-pad and sends it piggybacked on Darius' transmission. After the message is sent, he turns to the others. "OK team, let's get moving. Soon we can strike a decisive blow for our Empress. Let's make it count!"

Both Martian Level 20 invader

You arrive at the defensive inplacesment in good time and are able to relay the info to other teams in the city. The zone you are to pacify consists of three massive defense towers each mounting a twin heavy turbolaser battery. These guns need to be deactivated or they will tear the ground assault forces to shreds. They appear to be well defended.

As you are preparing to scout, you meet up in a safehouse with three other teams that arrive. The team leaders are, Darrell Straff, Kyton Nash, and your old friend Romm Koltan and his team.

Yallie will greet Zaleos. "Good to see you again handsome."

Zaleos:

You can feel the warm pink aura and smell the pleasant smell of Yallie. The force grants you a metal image of her for you

Darrell starts:"Good job with the Hanger. Have you had a chance to scout the area yet? Formulate a plan?"

Zaelos is silent for a moment as his vision is overwhelmed by his LOVE. He approaches her slowly and takes her hand in his own, resisting the urge to give her a more familiar greeting. "It is...good to see you again as well...Yallie. I trust I was not too late here?"

Force Sensitive players:
You sense the Force aura around Zaelos flickering and expanding wildly like you have never seen before from the normally reserved Mirilukan. It doesn't take much to figure out how Zaelos feels about Yallie here, he he.

After holding her hand for a moment, he releases it very reluctantly and turns his attention to Darrell. "Thank you. As for a plan here we will need to infiltrate the area and see if there is a crack in their defenses we can exploit."

Arana slaps Darien on the shoulder as he reveals the perfect approach to the batteries, grabbing her gear and sprinting with the others through the buildings.

As they meet up with the others, Arana watches , amused at Zaleos' reaction to meeting up with Yallie.

With a smirk on her face, she gets her gear ready, waiting for Darrell's response to Zaleos' query.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Damaging the power cables and conduits would be best. I'm sure they'll have some back-up supply, but it'll probably be insufficient to power the lasers." Karval ponders, glad to see old comrades - although still slightly reticent of them especially Yallie.

"Infiltration and demolition is a good idea." he agrees.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Janitor pauses as the group rendezvous with old allies to survey the city and mentally go over the route they just took. We've done well so far. Darius is a good kid, knows his way around the shadows. Hope we finish soon. Then he's drawn out of his thoughts by Karval's voice, and he turns to face the others.

"Agreed," Janitor says, shifting the pack he's carrying to draw attention to it. "I've still got the ordinance we were given for the mission, so it shouldn't be too problematic to rig it up and blow the guns." He blinks, seeing Zaleos holding Yallie's hand, then realizes they're talking to other operatives, possibly superiors, who might not even know Janitor well, if at all. "By the way, Trooper A-Three-Three-Seven reporting, Codename 'Janitor.' Will the end of the op be a joint effort, or am I safe in assuming you have your own objectives to take care of?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Infiltration stealthilly, trying to avoid and by-pass the guards - rather than disguises." He leans over to look at Darius' map as they figure the best route into the place.

Zaelos nods, "I agree with this strategy. My preference is to sneak in, plant the charges and get out." He motions to the other team members. "We could use a diversion here, to draw attention away from ourselves here."

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry for the delay. Was feeling ill for a bit there. Good plan you all have come up with in spite of that. Makes things a touch easier for me.

Kyton nods with the soldiers plan and puts in. "How interesting that we all received additional ordnance from one source or another. Me an my team managed to raid a munitions supply bunker."

Romm puts in. "Our team managed to procure a good amount of detonite from another stockpile."

Darrell puts on a smug grin. "Me an my team know where to grab the explosive cell for a proton torpedo. Don't need the whole torpedo, just the part that goes boom."

Romm nods. "I guess it's settled then."

Kyton displays a holomap and circles a few spots on the gun emplacements. "My team found this schematic of the defenses on one of our missions knowing this is where we needed to finish our jobs. These highlighted point are where we should put the explosives to do enough damage to disable the guns but leave them intact enough so they can be repaired at a later date."

Darrell signs. "Only three guns. So it might be best if we have a team stand by in case another runs into trouble. If we hit each one at a time, it will cause the guard to get higher each one we move too. It would be best if we hit them simultaneously."

The others nods. Romm looks to Zaleos. "Since it was by your judgement that prevented a devastating bombardment of the city, we will let you decide. The north gun, west gun, south gun, or stay as lookout and backup?"

They await your decisions.

Zaelos turns to face his teammates trying to read their body language as to the soundness of Romm's plan. Though his heart quailed at the thought of sending Yallie into harms way, he also knew what needed to be done here.

"Since you three teams have the most experience working with one another, and since timing is crucial at this juncture, you three teams will tackle the guns while my crew will stay here as backup. I leave it to your discretion which embankments you wish to tackle here."

The decision made, he waits for any objection from his own team who may want to take a more proactive role here...

Zaelos is waiting for input from the others here before he issues the actual orders.

"Good plan, Zaelos. We can assist where needed from here..." Arana offers.

She takes in the cameraderie shown by the other teams and the obvious affection between Yallie and Zaleos, and fights back the sting of jealousy that surfaces unexpectedly.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Janitor nods and begins checking his weapons. "Roger that, Commander." The trooper immediately begins searching for a good spot to perform overwatch. Wish I'd brought my carbine.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Anyone else?

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"I'd feel a bit better if we could respond in a more timely manner." Karval growls not wanting to be left to far out of the action, to the detriment of those other squads. "Well at least we can still use the speeders?"

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius gives a look of acknowledgment to the order, and nods in agreement with Karval.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Darrell regards Zaleos. "We don't really have much experience working with one another. In truth, this is the first time I have met you or Kyton. But we will head in first. You got our backs." He gives the thumbs up.

Yallie give Zaleos a quick good bye kiss on the cheek. "See you later honey." She says and then joins Romm and the rest of her team.

Your group takes up the best position you can find. As you sit and wait for the mission to unfold you need to make me perception checks versus 3d8s.

Zaelos nods in reply. "Very well. I trust you guys here to handle this. We will back you up here, and we will make sure you are not interrupted."

He blushes as Yallie says goodbye to him and he 'stares' after her. "May the Force be with you, Yallie."

As his group settles into position, Zaelos stretches out his Force senses looking for any hidden surprises for each of the groups.

Unfortunately his thoughts stray to Yallie a little too much....
