I have a question for you. I am thinking of purchasing a droid for us to use. Nothing fancy, just either a protocol droid and/or an astromech droid. I did see a battle droid in the Core book, but somehow I think that will be disallowed, he he.
Let me know what you guys think of that idea and which droid I should get and I can post IC to Taevos.
How high of grade of equipment is available as far as mastercraft items are concerned? Is it possible to get either a +2 datapad and/or +2 security kit?
Under the description for datapads, the last sentence mentions +2 and +3 datapads. It doesn't list a price anywhere, but I would guess going off of the +1 price, it would be 3,000 and 4,000 respectively. Security kits also have the same sentence, and I would guess their prices to be 2,250 and 3,000 respectively.
Well without the armour proficiency, I don't think I'll take the -7 to hit for not being proficient in Battle Armour, heavy. & It only has a max 0 dex bonus (-4AC), for DR7 to wounds only. In SW armour is not that useful. It isn't me being peaked or a prima-donna ;p

Page 136 in the box implies that if found it the cost is doubled each time - thus 4,000 & 8,000 respectively (Sorry Nichos).
I know the Arms & Equipment guide is similarly vague when it comes to modificating items and the costs (+50% for each modification). I could see a case for either way.
I am going to go with Karval's implications and say that it doubles in price each point. Makes most sense to me but you can purchase as high as you can afford :)
I have no problem with the game style you are using Shanosuke. My issue is trying to get the hang of the SW universe and all the nuances (with all the different rule changes) therein. I think a free-flowing game works well with the SW universe, so your style meshes well here.
Guess the only thing I could use help is whether I am missing certain rules or other things that would help our characters out. Again that is just a product of my inexperience with the rules.
It's been really fun so far. I like the discrete options that are given, so we can easily choose. Also the rest of you are really great as well, I am really liking how we are making informed, team driven decisions that are most importantly quick.
You are doing the SW universe proud, at least better than Mr Lucas' recent efforts ;p
The rules do become interesting with the nuances from 3.5d&d, but I have played with them before.
Interesting feedback. Any "nuances" in particular that I could possibly help you with?
Also regarding the rules, are you referring to the fact I am using outdated rules or the mild changes I make here and there?
Lastly - Sorry about the low jedi game. I was always a fan of Star Wars's universe of blaster technology over jedi. I do like the jedi but I believe they should be rare and mysterious. Not abundant, well known, and bland. You guys will have the opportunity to become jedi, you just have to work for it.
The changes you have made to the rules work really well and seem the be minor. Personally I like the out-dated rules. The nuances I refer to are really the armour rules, vitality/wound points and the fact that since it uses the 3.5 system primarily there is a bit of focus on hand to hand rather than melee.
What I also find interesting is that there are a couple of classes, which are not really PC classes (Tech Specialist & fringer).
Well at least we don't have to put up with the Jedi code. :)
The vitality system is funny but I actually likd it quite a bit. The armor concept though. Seems very unnecessary. Luckily this is Star Wars and true to the movies, armor is really not much better than a farm boy's tunic, black vest, metal bikini, or fur....especially against rocks.
So it makes sense it would be worthless in this game. Gives you the choice to be stylish and still be able to defend yourself.
Yep, it does work really well. As heavy armour shouldn't necessarily protect from blasters! The only thing is it makes criticals so important at higher levels! Especially against humans with Con WP's.
My only weird thing is that the Soldier class only gives light armour, not heavier ones. Thus and for stormtroopers to spend their feats on something not much better than a metal bikini (my eyes... stormtroopers in bikini's) is actually reflective of why they are rubbish in the movies :)
I don't know, may as well play up the bumbling spoiled moron here since you doing it so well. Whatever you say, if it's dimwitted, a bit arrogant, and extremely presumpous, it will be perfectly in character.
I'm going to be away from my computer due to rl issues until next wednesday. please feel free to dmnpc Me'eona if needed.
plan was that if we met the contact in a public place, i would disguise myself to blend into the crowd.
Sorry for making you all wait. I have been exhausted something fierce this week and haven't had the ambition to post much of anything. I will try and get something up tomorrow. For sure on Friday. Again I am sorry. Just sooo tired.
I'm just giving all my games a heads up. at the end of June all my supervisors quit leaving me the head of my department. Since I was given their duties in addition to my own, my time has been becoming very strained. I will try to continue to post as much as I can. If this is an issue or when it does become an issue, please let me know and I will bow out. I hope that this matter will be concluded by mid to late September. Thank you all for your understanding.
Okay. I realize Meo'ena is scarce but I was kind of hoping for a bit more input.
Is everyone okay with the level of roleplay? Bit more of it than I was expecting but it will be rewarded with a possible major combat coming up in the near future.
I'm fine with it. Just working through some rl issues that are finally winding down, allowing me to settle into a more consistent routine. Will post something tomorrow on the game thread when I'm a bit more awake.
Personally, I am loving the amount of role-play. Of course, some actual Roll-play is great too and can really move on a game.
But I am loving the intrigue and politics - although that makes it quite possible we are not acting in the best interest of the Empress. It's just some options might ruin others and make our plans duff (like with backing the Noble family rather than the rebels).
Will try and post tomorrow evening. With school coming up, I've been doing a lot of running around and last minute working. Keeping me quite busy. Things should settle down once I get a routine going.
