Male Mirikulian Noble 5

Hey guys,

I have a question for you. I am thinking of purchasing a droid for us to use. Nothing fancy, just either a protocol droid and/or an astromech droid. I did see a battle droid in the Core book, but somehow I think that will be disallowed, he he.

Let me know what you guys think of that idea and which droid I should get and I can post IC to Taevos.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

An astromech droid would be good. Nothing fancy would be required, but having an additional shield repairer would be a big help.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

How high of grade of equipment is available as far as mastercraft items are concerned? Is it possible to get either a +2 datapad and/or +2 security kit?

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

I'll go with:

heavy pistol, mastercraft +1 (-1,500)
vibrodagger, mastercraft +1 (-400)
padded flight suit, mastercraft +1 (-1,600)
grenade, stun x2 (-1,200)
grenade, frag x2 (-1,000)
security kit, mastercraft +1 (-1,500)
tool kit, mastercraft +1 (-500)

That leaves me with 9,300 credits.
So, we have one astromech droid coming. What about a medical droid for the ship?

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Karval will take:

Mandolorean Armour (Boba) (10,000)
Med-Pac x 6 (600)
Medical Kit (25)
Heavy Blaster, mastercraft +1 (1,500)
Blaster Pistol, mastercraft +1 (1,000)
Blaster Rifle, mastercraft +1 (2,000)
Grappling Spike Launcher (50)
Liquid Cable Dispenser (25)
Energy Cells x5 (50)

Leaving 750 CR from his pay and 1k discretionary fund!

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry. They have everything you want but mandelorian armor. They have a nice suit of heavy trooper armor.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

Is a +2 masterwork datapad available?

That's alright, didn't think it would be so Karval will take:

Med-Pac x 6 (600)
Medical Kit (25)
Datapad (1,000)
Heavy Blaster, mastercraft +1 (1,500)
Blaster Pistol, mastercraft +1 (1,000)
Blaster Rifle, mastercraft +1 (2,000)
Grappling Spike Launcher (50)
Liquid Cable Dispenser (25)
Energy Cells x5 (50)

Leaving 9750 CR from his pay and 1k discretionary fund.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Nichos where would I find rules for the +2 datapad. It's not in the main rulebook

Karval, so it's either Mandelorian armor or no armor then?

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

Under the description for datapads, the last sentence mentions +2 and +3 datapads. It doesn't list a price anywhere, but I would guess going off of the +1 price, it would be 3,000 and 4,000 respectively. Security kits also have the same sentence, and I would guess their prices to be 2,250 and 3,000 respectively.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Well without the armour proficiency, I don't think I'll take the -7 to hit for not being proficient in Battle Armour, heavy. & It only has a max 0 dex bonus (-4AC), for DR7 to wounds only. In SW armour is not that useful. It isn't me being peaked or a prima-donna ;p

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Actually with the Light Armour Prof, from Soldier class - Masterwork Blast Helmet & Vest will be worth Karvals' while (-1,000CR).

That's why Stormtroopers are rubbish as they have to spend Feats on Light And Powered Armour proficiencies. :P

Page 136 in the box implies that if found it the cost is doubled each time - thus 4,000 & 8,000 respectively (Sorry Nichos).

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

That is a reasonable guess as well. The book is not particularly clear on whether it doubles every time or simply adds the base again.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

I know the Arms & Equipment guide is similarly vague when it comes to modificating items and the costs (+50% for each modification). I could see a case for either way.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I am going to go with Karval's implications and say that it doubles in price each point. Makes most sense to me but you can purchase as high as you can afford :)

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

I finally found the sidebar that talks about masterwork items flipping through the weapon section. Karval's guess was the correct one.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

+6000 from armory
-3000 stun grenades (5)
-1000 detonite (2)
-500 timer (2)
balance of 1500

+10000 from pay
-4000 masterwork (+2) datapad
-3000 masterwork (+2) security kit
-1000 electrobinoculars
-2000 recording rods (4)

+875 Selling standard datapad and security kit at half price
-250 Ion Pistol
-200 Datacards (20)
-10 Glow Rod
-25 Liquid Cable Dispenser
-50 Grappling Spike Launcher
balance of 340 credits

1500+1000+340=2740 for expenses
-2000 Encrypted Comlink
-500 Code Cylinder

Total of 240 credits added

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I am kind of curious so I'm going to ask.
How are you all liking the campaign and my GM style?

Any feedback or constructive criticism? What do you like or don't like? Be honest now.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

Going good so far. While issues have periodically come up, they have been dealt with quickly and the game has moved on. That is all one can ask for.

Male Mirikulian Noble 5

I have no problem with the game style you are using Shanosuke. My issue is trying to get the hang of the SW universe and all the nuances (with all the different rule changes) therein. I think a free-flowing game works well with the SW universe, so your style meshes well here.

Guess the only thing I could use help is whether I am missing certain rules or other things that would help our characters out. Again that is just a product of my inexperience with the rules.

Also...MORE JEDI, he he...

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

Seems the blind will lead the blind. I second all of Zaleos's comments.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

It's been really fun so far. I like the discrete options that are given, so we can easily choose. Also the rest of you are really great as well, I am really liking how we are making informed, team driven decisions that are most importantly quick.

You are doing the SW universe proud, at least better than Mr Lucas' recent efforts ;p

The rules do become interesting with the nuances from 3.5d&d, but I have played with them before.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Interesting feedback. Any "nuances" in particular that I could possibly help you with?

Also regarding the rules, are you referring to the fact I am using outdated rules or the mild changes I make here and there?

Lastly - Sorry about the low jedi game. I was always a fan of Star Wars's universe of blaster technology over jedi. I do like the jedi but I believe they should be rare and mysterious. Not abundant, well known, and bland. You guys will have the opportunity to become jedi, you just have to work for it.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

The changes you have made to the rules work really well and seem the be minor. Personally I like the out-dated rules. The nuances I refer to are really the armour rules, vitality/wound points and the fact that since it uses the 3.5 system primarily there is a bit of focus on hand to hand rather than melee.

What I also find interesting is that there are a couple of classes, which are not really PC classes (Tech Specialist & fringer).

Well at least we don't have to put up with the Jedi code. :)

Both Martian Level 20 invader

The vitality system is funny but I actually likd it quite a bit. The armor concept though. Seems very unnecessary. Luckily this is Star Wars and true to the movies, armor is really not much better than a farm boy's tunic, black vest, metal bikini, or fur....especially against rocks.
So it makes sense it would be worthless in this game. Gives you the choice to be stylish and still be able to defend yourself.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Yep, it does work really well. As heavy armour shouldn't necessarily protect from blasters! The only thing is it makes criticals so important at higher levels! Especially against humans with Con WP's.

My only weird thing is that the Soldier class only gives light armour, not heavier ones. Thus and for stormtroopers to spend their feats on something not much better than a metal bikini (my eyes... stormtroopers in bikini's) is actually reflective of why they are rubbish in the movies :)

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Going to a gaming convention, in a couple of hours. I'll probably have no internet, but I'll be back Sunday evening (GMT).

Male Mirikulian Noble 5

Hmmm...considering the foot in mouth disease Zaelos seems to have contracted, I am afraid to say something here. Any suggestions here?

Both Martian Level 20 invader

LOL! I dunno, I am finding foot in the mouth disease to be quite entertaining.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

I don't know, may as well play up the bumbling spoiled moron here since you doing it so well. Whatever you say, if it's dimwitted, a bit arrogant, and extremely presumpous, it will be perfectly in character.

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

I'm going to be away from my computer due to rl issues until next wednesday. please feel free to dmnpc Me'eona if needed.
plan was that if we met the contact in a public place, i would disguise myself to blend into the crowd.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Good plan. I'll stand guard for Zaleos at the meeting.

Hope the RL issues are good things.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Whoops just called Yallie a liar ;P

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

RL = work, wedding and funeral. So, some good and some bad.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry for making you all wait. I have been exhausted something fierce this week and haven't had the ambition to post much of anything. I will try and get something up tomorrow. For sure on Friday. Again I am sorry. Just sooo tired.

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

No problem. We all have those issues from time to time.

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

I'm just giving all my games a heads up. at the end of June all my supervisors quit leaving me the head of my department. Since I was given their duties in addition to my own, my time has been becoming very strained. I will try to continue to post as much as I can. If this is an issue or when it does become an issue, please let me know and I will bow out. I hope that this matter will be concluded by mid to late September. Thank you all for your understanding.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

Wow, that sounds like an interesting situation. I hope it resolves itself sooner rather than later.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Yeah, that's terrible (unless you get given a raise). Don't worry, we aren't rushing and I am sure it won't be a problem.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

I'll be away for the next day, going down to London for the Olympic Athletics.

Should be back by this time tomorrow.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Is everything okay? We seem to have stopped and I am looking for more from you guys. Do you have any questions or concerns?

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

I'm KO'd by the Olympic's & no sleep for 48 hours, but was waiting on another to add.

I get something up in the morning regardless.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Okay. I realize Meo'ena is scarce but I was kind of hoping for a bit more input.

Is everyone okay with the level of roleplay? Bit more of it than I was expecting but it will be rewarded with a possible major combat coming up in the near future.

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

I'm fine with it. Just working through some rl issues that are finally winding down, allowing me to settle into a more consistent routine. Will post something tomorrow on the game thread when I'm a bit more awake.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Personally, I am loving the amount of role-play. Of course, some actual Roll-play is great too and can really move on a game.

But I am loving the intrigue and politics - although that makes it quite possible we are not acting in the best interest of the Empress. It's just some options might ruin others and make our plans duff (like with backing the Noble family rather than the rebels).

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Will try and post tomorrow evening. With school coming up, I've been doing a lot of running around and last minute working. Keeping me quite busy. Things should settle down once I get a routine going.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Thanks for letting us know. That's great, hope everythomg is going well - if busy.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

A note of warning, I am going to be away at a music festival from Thursday afternoon to Monday afternoon.

Feel free to use whatever needs to be used & NPC me as necessary.

Male 9/82. Vitality Mandolorean Soldier

Apologies lost an extra day or two due to my idiocy and password problems. Thank you Gary and everything looks awesome well done - Zaleos & Nichos.
