I'm not sure if it's a game thing or a GM issue. My husband is in another one of the GMs games and he hasn't posted in that for over a week either. Hopefully he is ok.
I know that he started the semester and seems to be a bit overwhelmed as his posting as a PC in may games has been a bit slow lately as well.
Sorry, all, it was indeed a GM thing and I'm still here. I've been ridiculously busy over the weekend until now with a project for class, and on top of that I've been dealing with some other stuff and coming down with some sort of virus. That said things are clear enough today that I'll be (hopefully) updating all of my games, including this one! My deepest apologies for the delay, but I hope you're all still good to keep going, because I do want to keep this game moving forward.

Due to my being in the middle of two rather major RL events, those being a) looking for a new place seeing as I am married and looking to eventually start a family, and b) trying to set up the whole private practice thing, my posting will be... erratic, spotty, what have you for the weeks and quite possibly months to come. By all means, if I seem to be taking too long to post, move along, DMPC even. And I will do my best to catch up if or when such a thing is needed.
Be sure to take into account school districts when looking if you are planning to have kids there.
Along with my overdue Gameplay update, I have an out of character question for you guys: do you think it would be helpful to have some sort of campaign archive for info on missions, NPCs, events and so forth? I'm realizing that I've already started dropping a lot of names and characters, as well as sowing seeds for future developments, and it can be a pain to comb back through the Gameplay thread itself for info later on.
I suppose the Campaign Info page could work for this, but it could quickly get bogged down with information. I've also used Obsidian Portal for things of this nature in the past, and could use it for this campaign--it's a useful site for sorting through info and everything, and can easily be expanded as time goes on and new elements are introduced.
I think it might be very useful to have an archive like that. Up to you how you store it.

I find the Campaign Info tab incredibly useful as do the players in my Vamp game. There is a LOT of data in there but with spoiler it is manageable. I link to it below in case you want to take a look DM.
I dunno if people will see this at all, but I've noticed that both myself and some other players in games I'm running have lost their dots on... pretty much every game they're in. I'm not sure why it happened, but I recommend checking all the games you're in and potentially shooting a message to your players if you don't hear from them at all. I figured I'd throw this out there to make people aware if they missed this or something like that.
Yeah, it's strange. Doesn't seem to be fixed by just posting once, either. Hopefully they get it figured out.
Also, to let you all know in case you're interested, I've opened recruitment for a campaign I've been planning to run for a little while now. It's in the Savage Worlds system, combining a couple of the settings/subsystems from that game. Hey all! I felt I owed you guys a quick note on what's going on since I haven't updated recently. I'm in my final week of classes as an undergraduate, and it's at least as busy as that phrase suggests. I've got projects due, papers to write, tests to take, and a decent chunk of a novel to write and revise and polish up. Add in extracurricular stuff--two shows over the course of last weekend--and going over essays for the students I'm TAing for... and I'm a little pressed for time.
I'm not abandoning these games by any means, but I don't know how well I'll be able to post for the next week or so (until finals are over and everything's turned in). My hope is to have time to post on this Thursday at least, and perhaps over this weekend, but I can't guarantee anything. So please bear with me for a little while, and we'll get things going again as soon as I can!

Okay, so I'm going to talk about Joran's reaction to Alaric's offering to use the Force to persuade the guy here, as well, since Joran's reaction would mirror my own.
Jedi are big on avoiding "ends justify the means" and all that, and I would consider using the mind trick Force power in this situation to be skirting the edge a bit. Is that a component of Alaric's character you're looking to explore, or do you and I have different views of it in this situation?
Also, how does Alaric feel about forging official paperwork?
Alaric has a little bit of a... different and yet sometimes more extreme view of the Force.
Jedi Shadows are a little different to begin with, mostly because of the fact that they're trained to always look for the Dark Side and they hunt down both practitioners of the Dark Side and their artifacts. They have a different view of the Force on occasion than other Jedi, and are permitted to act in ways that not all Jedi can. While it's very black and white for them, they draw the line for themselves a little differently than others because of their training. In this situation, Alaric feels it's justified because although he is manipulating someone using the Force he's not doing it in a way that could bring trouble down on their head or get them hurt. If we talk to an owner in a backroom or something no one will know he gave us information so it can't really impact his business, and it's not likely this guy would be hunted down or killed for giving us this information. Also, since we're doing it for efficiency's sake to get a move on a little faster, he views it more as expediting since we'd eventually get what we need. Now, in a situation where we might be coercing an informant he'd be reluctant to do so especially if he couldn't guarantee his safety. In this case, the guy is getting hurt by it or really suffering any serious consequences, so it's not a big deal to him. Also, there are Sith potentially on the loose, and he's going to view going after them as being high priority.
As for forgeries, he doesn't care. As a Jedi Shadow he's probably operated with forged documents before.

Hey everyone, I want to give yet another deep apology for my extended absence from the site. It started with a somewhat impromptu trip last week (my younger brother is looking at colleges) that left me with much less time and wifi access than I'd expected. I had really hoped to post regularly leading up to the weekend, but it didn't happen. Then this weekend was the expected absence from a paintball event, but I'd meant to start posting again as soon as possible after returning from that.
This week, I don't know that there's a tangible reason for my not updating so far, and I know that's really sh*tty but I'd rather be honest than come up with some other excuse. I don't know if it's just that I've been working on other stuff, or that I haven't had the mental energy, or what exactly, but I just couldn't get on here to update things. That's a really crappy place to be regardless, but it's definitely a bad place to be as someone running a game for other people (or playing in them).
In any case, it's come to a close, whatever it was, and I want to get stuff moving again as best as I can. I'm going to try and update everything intermittently throughout today, and tomorrow if I don't get to it all, so look for updates. If all the absences have killed the flow or your mood for the game, I fully understand, so just let me know, but I am really hopeful to be a better GM in terms of posting frequency. Thanks.

Just letting you all know that I'm leaving for a camping trip for a couple of days with my family--I know, it's another short-notice absence, but it is what it is. My apologies, but if it's any consolation I may be able to post on this one. I'm not sure exactly what the situation at the campground will be, some have wi-fi these days and some don't, but if I get the opportunity I may even use my phone to get a hotspot and check in if I can. Often I find that if I fall behind in updates, I need to make time to simply update a Discussion Thread to inform the PCs of a particular game that I am either going to be posting later in the day or week or will be on a break form the boards for one reason or another.
To save time updating so many damn threads I am going to open this thread and link all of my DM aliases (and PC aliases) to this thread to inform people as to my status. So if I am missing for a time, just go ahead and click on the link in my Avatar and you will be able to ascertain my board status.

Hey guys, my father-in-law is in the hospital, and my wife and I have our second wedding anniversary next week. Posting might be short and scarce until Thursday.
Following this round of belated updates--this week had some craziness, including my phone breaking--I'm letting you all know that I'm going on another trip, starting later today. This is very short-notice, I know, but I didn't know I was going until last night myself. My younger brother is still looking at colleges, but this trip also brings us near my older half-brother who I only get to see once in a great while. (Incidentally, he's the person who got me into RPGs in the first place.) His schedule happens to be open for one of the days of the trip, so I'm going along to get to see him.
Like I said, we're leaving later today, and I'll be back on this coming Tuesday. We're staying in hotels the whole time, so I SHOULD have wi-fi and time to post, but in case I don't, that's the reason why.

Hey, Jal and I heard from Loup and he let us know his laptop is currently busted, so we may be on hiatus for a bit. He's going to try to post from another computer or something like that, but he's not sure if that'll pan out. Fixing the laptop isn't currently an option, so if nothing else works he may be out for a bit.

Hey guys, this is a blanket notice going out to all of my games here on the boards. While I am thankfully outside the path of Hurricane Harvey, current projections for Hurricane Irma are sending it barreling up the coast of Florida to sweep much of the eastern coast of the United States. As I live directly on the ocean, I'm already gearing up for a potential evacuation at the moment. While hopefully all I get is a lot of rainfall, it's likely that by the time Irma hits Maryland it will still be at least a Category 3 storm, if not worse. I will have my laptop and such in the case of an evacuation, but I likely won't be able to post with any real schedule or frequency. Moreover, given that I live more or less directly on the ocean, it's more likely than not that if I'm forced to evacuate there will not be a home for me to come back to after the storm passes. The island is not built to withstand that kind of storm, and the last time something anywhere near that deadly swept through, it made an inlet where there used to be a road. My point being, if I'm hit by the hurricane it's very likely I will be off the boards for a long while, or at least my posting will be sparse and intermittent.
I'm sure I'm not the only one following the storm on the news, but I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on my status. It's likely the storm, if it hits me at all, will make landfall here early next week. If you see on the news that the storm has hit Maryland and you don't hear from me, that's probably why. I just wanted to put this message up now as I'm prone to losing power during storms and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging.
