SHADOWS ON ALDERAAN
:fade in

FADE TO ALDERAAN, PALACE OF HOUSE ORGANA
DAY -- PARTLY CLOUDY

Narrator: Jedi Plo Koon: For over a Thousand Generations, the Jedi Knights were the defenders of Peace and Justice in the Galaxy. During an era in the history of the Galaxy known as the Cold War, the resurgent Sith Empire has the Republic backed into a corner by making them sign the Treaty of Coruscant. This is the story of the Republic becoming vigilant in the face of Tyranny.

Thrantas are flying lazily in the skies. A young Arkanian Jedi padawan named NYLA SORESU has come to Alderaan for the next leg of her journey and to meet her Jedi master -- Master Seth Jaran.

Outside, the forested planet of Alderaan is brimming with the Force. Everything seems serene, as if the planet's troubles seem so far away. Also, a smuggler named IONA LIANN is in the spaceport with her first mate KAATH ANDAK. THOLLUS is checking his mail from the Holonet on his datapad. Things were looking up, even as CHAL HAAKO is checking his accounts to make sure that Valaluu the Hutt hasn't a thing for him to do.

Iona is standing in front of the loading ramp of her ship, the Lady Felicity, a Collian YT-2000 Light freighter which was a gift from her grandfather, wearing her best smile she tries to act nonchalantly as she haggles over the prices of the docking fees to a pair of stern faced officials.

"Aww, come on guys." she says, her voice indicating that she is the victim of some great wrong, "Am I to suffer for your rise in crime rates? I'm bringing in legitimate goods, goods you need and you know it. You can't be serious about those prices. Why, I aught to be charging you for even landing on this planet. Can't we just wave this? Come on guys, be reasonable."

"We have to check your cargo for pollutants," the official said. "If you don't let us inspect your cargo for dangerous pollutants, we have to charge the higher docking fees in case you are carrying hazardous material. You know that."

Dammit. No retries on persuasion checks.

Iona blinks like she's been slapped, her mouth opening and closing as if she was at a loss for words. "Oh, so that's how it is, huh? Well, hey. No worries mate. I see you need to do you job buddy, just like the rest of us, so sure, go right ahead.." she steps aside and invites the official to ascend the ramp with a flourish.

Watching the official ascend with his scanning gear Iona bites her lip before following in after them 'Damn. Those compartments better be as secure as gran'pa said they were.' "Just be careful alright. That's fragile equipment in there, ok? Droid brains don't come cheep. If you brake anything your gona pay for it alright..." Following the officials as they make their rounds Iona jammers constantly at them, telling them of interesting things she's seen around various spaceports, pointing out some various unimportant feature inside Lady Felicity and generally making sure they don't have the peace and quiet they need to do their job properly.

Take 10 on Deception to provide a Distraction to Hide for 17 vs. their will defense. A liberal interpretation of the skill I know, but I'm just assuming Iona's got something to hide. If she doesn't she's just doing it for the practice and the general pleasure.

Elton, am I on the ship yet or just in the spaceport?

Female Arkanian Jedi 1st

The warm, dry air of the spaceport rushed up to meet her as Nyla stepped off of the crowded public space transport. A serene smile showed proudly above her prominent jawline , the upper portion of her face obscured by the hood of her deep blue cloak. A cacophony of footsteps, smells, beeping and whirring sounds, multiple languages--only a few of which she understood, smashed against the young Jedi's sense's like a cold Arkanian wind.

Taking a moment to center herself she set off following the signs, and made her best effort to move along with the tide of arrivals towards the exit. She passes an Iridonian whose worry betrays her, emanating out not unlike a lantern, for a moment, Nyla feels as though she too might have reason for alarm. A glance outside serves to quell her worries, as the radiant force beckons back to the calm gardens of Tython, where she had spent the better part of her life. Willing herself to move forward, she found herself in search of Master Seth Jaran. Once she finds a sufficiently isolated corner, She tries to establish communication with her new master with her wrist-mounted commlink

" Master Seth Jaran? Padawan Nyla Soresu, reporting for further training and instruction, sir."

In her waiting, she searches her mind for any useful information on this new master of hers. Knowledge Galactic Lore1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

You have to give me your cargo manifest in a spoiler. Alderaanians do not make plastics or order industrial preservatives like creosote. Nor do they use plutonium, or any other manmade source of radioactive material. But they will let certain drugs through.

"Well, if you are carrying heuristic processors, then you have nothing to worry about, right?" said the official. "We just want to check your cargo manifest."

-----------------

Nyla:

You know that Master Seth Juran is a veteran of the Sith War, and has lost his last padawan to the Sith. You also know that he is a Lt. Colonel in the Republic Military and has led Republic troops to battle during the Battle of Dantooine.

"Nyla, it's good that you made it safe. Are you near the Organa Castle?" came the Jedi Master's voice. He sounded young but authoritative, and he had experience behind that voice. "If so, meet me in the Grand Hall."

Note to all, the Republic's spaceport is adjacent to the Organa Castle.

While his captain and the local officials argue with each other covering the formal business required for docking, Kaath watches from the bridge as he runs diagnostics on all the ship's systems to make sure that the ship is still in tiptop shape, or at least as tiptop of shape the current budget will allow for, and able to operate safely. Not overly worried about the inspections, if they try to go into the sections of the ship with the mechanical equipment, he will watch them to make sure he knows about any readjustments he may have to make after any tampering by the probably mechanically ignorant bureaucrats, hoping this time they are at least smart enough to follow the warning signs he had to put up after a particularly nosy bureaucrat several planets back almost got himself electrocuted.

Chal edges into the docking bay, his general bearing one of resigned reluctance...

He moves to the cluster of customs officials moving up and down the cargo ramp as they search the ship.

The Captain? I am to see the computers...

Male Human Replica Droid Noble 1

Awaiting news that his transport was ready for departure , Thollus sits quietly in the main viewing area watching vessels arrive and depart. Occasionally, with out even realizing what he's doing, Thollus will observe some person rushing by and idly determine the best way to impersonate/trick/ or otherwise influece them based on their appearance and mannerisms. Catching himself doing so as a Alderann naval officer strode by Action one: obtain uniform, Action two: fabricate identification , Action three: adopt Alderaan accent, Action four... Suddenly sitting upright, he thought "Why do I know how to do this?" shaking his head "These strangers are less mysterious to me than I am to myself"

Elton:
I don't actually expect you to give me cargo for the ship, I'm just playing with the props, right?
Give me a moment to figure out what could be appropriate cargo to Alderaan.

Iona hesitates for a moment when the docking officials ask to see the manifest. "Umm.. right.. Right! Right through there." she says, pointing to the cargo hold. "It's by the crates, it's nothing remarkable you know, just some spare parts and such.. eh? The computers?" Iona blinks at the Neimoidian as he interrupts her train of thought. "What? Why? Whats...? Never mind, through there up to the bridge." she points up the hall toward the bridge. "Kaath! We got a geek coming up to check the computers! See to him!" she hollars to her first mate.

Cut to Iona:

That's the fun part of player improvisation. You can improvise props. :)

"Right, right," said the docking official checking your manifest. "Well, lets see. Everything checks out."

His assistant, a Zabrak female, says: "Are you sure? You can never tell of these privateers these days. They may be smuggling slaves, running guns, running drugs, running spice."

"I'm sure," said the docking official as he looked at the Felicity's official cargo manifest.

--------------------------

Cut to Kaath Andak and Chal Haako:

KAATH you are maintaining some power couplings when CHAL comes blundering in, looking for the Lady Felicity's cargo manifest. The space around you looks like a typical YT series ship interior with the steel and rivets and unlively decor -- except for the Captain's berth. But you're not allowed in there.

The Computer terminal is a series of beeps, chirps, and wheezes as it spits out data from the ship's mainframe.

Cut to Thollus:

"Sir, are you lost?" a concerned aide asks Thollus. She's a beautiful female human of the Black African persuasion. Dark skinned and black haired, she wears the uniform of the Alderaanian Defense Force with the royal insignia on her left breast.

I have no idea what would be appropriate imports for Alderaan, I can't find any info on the planet in any book I've got so I'm just gona wing it.

Finding the manifest she hands it to the officials with a "Here you go. It's just some processors and spare parts." and watches intently as they scan through it.

Kaath looks up as the stranger enter to look at the computer. Groaning softly, clearly not thrilled at dealing with strangers, especially at this stage of entry procedures. "Try not to mess anything up, and do try to be quick about it," he says as he puts down his tools, watching the visitor like a hawk.

"Lost? Oh no, not at all! I was merely watching the ships come and go... quite hypnotic! And then you come walking by! Simply striking in that wonderful uniform and interrupt my reverie, beautiful...beautiful !" Thollus says rising from his seat and offering his hand in greeting "Thollus Rhan at your service!", a welcoming grin spreading across his face.

I'll make sure that there is a number of items you can purchase and transport that is consistent with Star Wars, but may come from other sources like: Wing Commander: Privateer, and Microsoft Freelancer. I'll put the list on the Discussion page.

Cut to Thollus:

The dark skinned Alderaanian blushed. "Oh, I'm still on duty here, please don't embarrass me!" she sheepishly said. "It makes me look bad. Still, since you find the ships lifting off and landing, we would like you to sit down over there and not stand in the way of the starport patrons."

She pointed to a couple of chairs aligned in a row against the wall. They are all colored a bright shade of blue. There are people sitting down in the chairs, waiting for their beloved family to come from their long tours in space. Some of them are troopers, some of them are naval men, and some of them are spacers.

Cut to Iona:

"Yep, everything checks out," said the spaceport official. He smiles at you. "You won't have to worry about being charged extra docking fees because you are not carrying hazardous materials."

Female Arkanian Jedi 1st

She made it a point within herself to reserve judgement of her new master until she knew more about him, Still, a smile crept upon her thin lips at the comforting words."Thank you Master," she began, the ever so slight smile audible in her words." If what I have heard is true, I am very near. I Will see you shortly in the Grand Hall, Thank you" She concludes and bows her head respectfully, a gesture which was like second nature to the young Arkanian. Clicking off the commlink and severing the signal, she waited until a boisterous Alderaanian had passed and then a few others; arrogant men in security uniforms, over worked transport drivers whose tired eyes looked ready to roll backwards at any moment, small children of a dozen different species sobbing and laughing and misbehaving and then sobbing again. Once these things had passed and the path of least resistance made itself known to Nyla, she gathered herself and moved swiftly out of the spaceport and into the shadow of Castle Organa. Her eyes moved in leaps and bounds to take in the awe inspiring architecture and general grandeur of the whole place. The books of the Library on Tython had described how all of this came to be and as she walked across the path she let her mind wander into the territory of her memory, seeking to refresh herself on House Organa.

With a warm smile, she removes her hood and seeks out the first friendly face she sees." Greetings friend, might you Instruct me on the way to the Grand hall? I am to have an audience with Master Seth Jeran there, and any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated."

There isn't much on Alderaan since it didn't figure much in Darth Revan's time -- so it's not in the books (especially after it's destroyed). So most of the information is based on the Wookieepedia.

Results of your roll:

Alderaan has long been known as a force of calm in the Galactic Republic, its representatives advocating freedom and negotiation rather than violence. However, during the Great War, the Sith Empire invaded and occupied the traditionally peaceful world. Though the Jedi rallied against the threat and quickly forced the Empire to abandon the planet, the attack left the Alderaanian people enraged. Alderaan became one of the loudest voices raised in support of the war against the Sith.

Towards the end of the war, the Empire proposed a peace conference. This summit was held on Alderaan, and was intended to bring a halt to hostilities; with the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, direct conflict between the Republic and the Empire came to an end. Enraged that the Senate would accept such a one-sided peace, the Alderaanian Senator, Crown Prince Gaul Panteer, announced the secession of Alderaan from the Republic.

The secession was received with mixed reactions by the people of Alderaan, resulting in a level of anxiety that was finally sparked into civil war following the deaths of first the Crown Prince, followed by that of the queen several days later. House Panteer was left without an heir, and the planet's noble houses scrambled to claim the throne for themselves. Additionally, in light of the power vacuum General Bouris Ulgo declared martial law, naming himself king.

The Republic and the Empire have thus far avoided direct involvement in the conflict. However, each provides support to a noble house friendly to their cause; the Republic chooses to back House Organa, while the Empire funnels support to bolster the efforts of House Thul.

The friendly face belongs to an older gentleman, about 70 years of Age (compared to Earth humans). He has a wizened old face and quite a friendly smile. "Yes, Master Jedi Juran is waiting for you in the Grand Hall. He's talking to Duke Charle Organa by the stairway to the Duke's chambers."

Female Arkanian Jedi 1st

Nodding fervently, Nyla bows her head to the wizened old man. " Thank you" She says simply.Spinning on her heels, Nyla changes her course of direction to the way that the gentleman indicated and feels her pace quicken along with her heart rate as she scampers closer to the next leg in her journey." Easy Nyla, be at peace" she reminds herself, she'd hate for this new master of hers to get the wrong first impression. The two figures in sight now, she glided swiftly across the Grand Hall until she was but a meter from Juran. Smiling in a reserved manner, Nyla waited until the men were done speaking and could turn their attention to her. The young Jedi bowed her head low before rising back up straight to meet each man's irises with her own stark white orbs." Duke Charle Organa," she began with surprising composure for one so young," and Master Seth Jeran." her composure creaked under the weight of a slight smile, but her next words snapped out, as if attempting to conceal it." A pleasure to meet you both, I am Nyla Soresu, I must say you have a beautiful planet,Sir Duke." Her attention then returns to her new master." And master, It will be an honor to learn under you. I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity."

Try not to mess anything up, and do try to be quick about it he says as he puts down his tools, watching the visitor like a hawk.

Chal gives him a stare and a blink... then seems to give an shrug that could well be the result of an internal dialogue whose outcome was 'couldn't be bothered'.

Getting down to the 'assumed' job, he gives a few lazy prods. The Computer terminal is a series of beeps, chirps, and wheezes as it spits out data from the ship's mainframe. With a few more jabs he isolates the devices within 4 meters of the ship and sends the data out.

Horrible, Chal mutters in Duros. This system is so outdated... ridiculous that I should have to work on this.

Taking the seat before the console, his fingers dart over the keyboard, checking navigation systems and downloading updates provided by the Alderaanian Port Authority.

Huffing a little, the Neimoidian equivilent of a sneeze, he waves over Kaath and types, without entering, the following in standard:

'I AM SENT BY VALALUU THE HUTT TO AID YOU... LET THE CAPTAIN KNOW - QUIETLY'.

Once he is sure that Kaath has seen, he deletes the words from the screen and shuts down the program, without there ever being record the words were there at all.

Giving the female a cold smile when she doubts her integrity, not that she'd blame her for it, now was just bad timing for somebody to be getting a hunch, she smiles warmy as the ranking official, thankfully a male, gives the all clear. "Of course Captain..." she says bowing graciously using a title she knows is way above him, "If you'll just follow me I'll transfer the credits imediately." Leading them out of the ship she provides a credchip and pays the docking fees with a smile.

Seeing the officials off she sighs in anoyance when they disapaer, "Poopdoo! More credits spent without anything to show for it! I should contact grandad, see if he can't help me get better connections.' Sighing again she knows it's no use now so she heads back in to gather her things to get ready to head into the spaceport propper, she'd never been to Alderaan, she wanted to see the sights.

Handing her a datapad with the full list of damage taken, fuel spent, and parts needed, "She fared well enough this last leg. The one generator continues to be fussy, and will require significant work eventually, but for now, as long as we don't run into any over zealous inspectors messing with the mechanics, we should be fine."

readout:
fuel spent = as expected, no surprises here finally
damage = minimal
repairs = minimal, basic maintenance only aside from the one generator
The strange Neimoidian claims to have been sent by Valuluu the Hutt to help us, but gave no details, and made a point to keep the knowledge hidden from the other inspectors.

Alright. Here we go.

To all:

The Ducal Palace of the Organas almost rivals the Royal Palace behind it. The palace has seven spires and they spared no expense to make it blend into the mountainous landscape. (The royal part of Alderaan looks a lot like Switzerland). Although there is some gold and silver in the construction, the precious metals have been reserved for other uses.

The Inside of the palace, the Great Hall, doubles as a ball room. Built as a giant square, the Great Hall is reminiscent of Baroque style palaces. There are two large chandeliers that hang from the ceiling, and the lighting lends itself to a warm, welcoming feeling. The floor is tiled with ceramic tile that has been polished. While the ceiling itself (not consistent with the MMO) is painted in brilliant and realistic colors to show a mythological theme. The myth is linked to the first Founding of the Alderaan Colony some 30 thousand years before.

There are many people in this part of the ducal palace. All dressed and arrayed in beautiful attire. Some wearing parochial dress in their finest -- a chiton for the younger people, while the older rely on the chiton and himaton. Duke Organa and his wife dress more conservatively and look like fairy tale couple. Duke Organa dresses like a 19th Century dignitary with a red sash flowing from his right shoulder down to his left waist. While his wife dresses more like a sixteenth century French Queen except without the plunging neckline. There are no Nerf Herders here.

Attached to the castle is the Stars End Cantina. While the Duke has some business here, he reserves this for the more shady type characters that come in from the Organa Spaceport. Here is where the scum and villainy off the space sports gather. Thankfully though, it isn't as seedy as Nar Shaddaa. Still, with two dancing girls as holograms, it becomes quite a problem. But its officially ran by the Duke, who realized that some people that come here in their ships are not exactly perfect gentlemen. Unfortunately, a few nerf herders do hang around this joint. Probably because they don't feel comfortable among the Venician style of the Ducal Palace. The Law here, however, is enforced and it's been seven years since the last bar fight here.

Nyla Soresu:

Duke Charle Remmot Organa bows his head towards Nyla. "Mistress Jedi," he said. "I hope you are finding our planet to your liking. If you both will excuse me."

The duke bows his head to you and Seth Juran and heads up to his chambers. Seth Juran turns to you. "I'm glad you made it safely," he said. "Alright, I have a chamber here where we can have some privacy. So, how was your training on Tython?"

He leads you into a small training room with droids lined up on one end. There are windows on one side, filling the room with the light of Alderaan's sun. The walls are white, the carpet a dull gray. It looks spartan, except for the two Jedi Statues that are at two corners of the training room.

---------------------

Iona Liaan:

"Going somewhere, Miss Liaan?" said an alien voice behind you as you headed out of the spaceport. "You have my cargo, right?"

If you turn around, you see the man in black that arranged for your run of your cargo here that you smuggled in. "After all, I agreed to pay the final cost for those -- droid components."

This man gives you the creeps. Dressed in black, he hides his face behind his hood. Although human, he speaks basic with a Royal London accent (the Queen's English). He doesn't sound like he was from Oxford or Cambridge. You see glimpses of his face, and it looks like he doesn't get any sun except it's gray pale. His eye sockets are blackened with makeup, and every time you are in his presence, your skin crawls. And those eyes, those eyes! They shine with a sulfurous yellow. Then you notice the lightsaber at his side.

"Its what I arranged with your grandfather," he smiles perversely with his lips done up with blackened lipstick. The man is positively goth -- but in a bad way. A very bad way.

---------------------

Thollus:

The Organian woman looked nervous. "Not while I'm on duty," she said. "I get off in a couple of standard hours. But I can show you around then." She taps her finger on your lips and walks away. She exaggerates her walk, emphasizing her hips for you.

People in Star Wars are still concerned with passing on their genes.

-------------------

Cut to Chal Haako and Kaath Andak on the Felicity.

The computer spits out more wheezes, bleeps, and blurps. Its as if the mainframe is a Charles Babbage Difference Engine rather than a digital computer! Either that, or it runs off vacuum tubes. Strange, though, the personality of the Lady Felicity is one like a crotchety old maid. Unlike the Defenders' mainframes being built for the Jedi, the mainframe is so outdated it needs a replacement.

At least that's the impression it gives to you, Chal.

Kaath, you react to the Niemodian's cursing like it's just another normal day in the office. You are putting the tools away when you see the familiar faces of those that serve the Empire enter into the ship and unloading the cargo. The pain of living under a Militaristic Dictatorship etched across their faces in subtle tones.

Elton:
An invoulantaty shudder runs down Iona's spine at the sound of the voice, suppressing a growing feeling of revulsion for the owner of it she puts on her best smile before turning to face him.

"Of course. Evrything is according to plan Master ... er...?" she let's the title trail away, arching an eyebrow, inviting the man to provide her with a name, it irked her to no end not knowing who her customer was. 'How am I going to build a network if nobody would tell me their names?'

Squirming a little under the mans visage and apperance, hopefully not enough to show, she scrutinizes the figure before her. 'Dark.' is all she can come up with.

"As discussed you cargo is safe on the ship." she finally manages, crossing her arms with a pout as no name seems to be forthcoming.

"Or would you prefer; Funny, aren't you, Lord Vandal?" she says with a bite in her tone, displaying more anger at the mans attitude than she intended.

Checking her temper he takes a deep breath to calm herself before continuing. "Look, as I said; The cargo's on-board. You want to check it out now or wait till they finish unloading as was discussed. It's you goods but I'm in no particular mood to be thrown in jail for this so just check the attitude if you please and stick to the plan, alright?"

Spoiler:

Nyla makes certain to bow lower than the Duke when he leaves and releases her breath calmly, striding alongside Juran as he leads her to the training room. Her eyes stare long at the statues, instinctively trying to match them to their journeys she might have read about."My training on Tython," she begins, unable to hide a bit of disappointment in her voice " it was adequate." Concluding matter of factly, she shrugs." I'm eager to gain experience. I wish to help the galaxy, Master." "Pleasure doing business with you as well Lord Vandal. You have my contact information." she says as ways of goodbye and, bowing slightly, turns her back on him with a slight shudder and decides to head back to the ship to find Kaath. She had an uneasy feeling after meeting the Imperial.

Did you just give me 9000 credits? If you did I'll have to work out a way to split the profits with the crewmembers. 10% each and the rest into running/manitaining/uppgrading the ship sound fair? Or maybe 30% goes directly into the ships pool and the rest is split between the crew?
Fishing crews here in Iceland split the proceeds into shares, Captain 2 shares, first mate/helmsman 1.5 share, the cook 1.5 share, sailors 1 sahre and interns/trainees 0.5 shares. Maybe we should work somthing out from that?

"Adjua....Adjua" Thollus murmurs to himself as the woman disappears into the crowd. Turning to find a place to sit before the main viewing port, he notices a couple Republic soldiers sitting nearby who had obviously been watching. Giving them a sheepish grin as they nodded and grinned at him for his success with the pretty naval aide. Walking away from the soldiers , Thollus' face resume its normal passive look, his fingers entering queries to the Holonet.

"I find my self "attracted" to Adjua. But not in the way I would expect. I seek to know her for the potential knowledge and influence not for any "Romantic" notions. Is this the kind of man I am?"

Not sure if I should just take 10 here or not

I'm not exactly sure how to handle a "Sell the Moon, Wholesale" component in Star Wars. :) the Nine Thousand Credits is a rough estimate of how much battle droid components cost. Scum and Villiany (a more wretched hive is Washington than Mos Eisley) has some ideas, but it's mostly adventures. You got 9,000 credits for hazard pay. You, after all, smuggled them in.

You, of course, work this out with the crew. Reading up on Scum and Villainy right now so I can figure out this part of the campaign. The Commodities lists I gave you supplement the commodities list in Scum and Villainy.

Valjor Family Name:
The Valjors are a common family name in Alderaan. Alderaan, which is based on a benevolent feudalist monarchy, has many families with common names -- mostly belonging to rugged families who eke out lives in the Wilderness. The Valjors are a city people, however.

Crest:
the Crest is not Royal, but it's noble. The crest belongs to the Organa family, a ducal family in the nobility of Alderaan.

Alderaan Defense Force:
Every system has a Space Defense Force. Alderaan's defense force is made up mostly of volunteers rather than professionals. It's not an army, and those that wish for a professional career often join the Republic Fleet instead.

Thollus:
It means that you don't sense him. Your droidness allows you proximity sensors (heat sensors) but it doesn't work like Force Sensitivity. :) So you feel the heat of a human being walk behind you but it doesn't give you the "willies."

Great because I need a tie in that won't freak out the pilot and crew and we don't have the Jedi yet

Perusing his search results, Thollus notices out of the corner of his eye a boy in black standing next him. Curious, I usually know when someone is near-by....How do I know when others are nearby?...If I can't see them or hear them?...and how is this so different from the others that he could come upon me unawares? Shaking his head in bafflement, Thollus lowers his datapad and turns to the boy "Well, aren't you remarkably different?" he says to the boy, dressed in all black, pale face made paler still by the black lip and eye paint.

"Don't bother me," said the boy as he left your presence. "Peasant."

Nyla nods at the words of encouragement, and calmly, in spite of her obvious slight shakiness, stacks the stones as directed." There we go." she sounds relieved but looks up with a peaceful smile at her new master" The Force is all around you master, flowing through you, me, and all living things." she calls his words back to him like a mantra and calmly awaits his reply.

Cut to Nyla:

Seth Juran just looks at that result, and just. "You need some work," said Seth. "The idea is to telekinetically stack them up with your mind. Apparently your mind isn't clear enough."

Seth Juran puts on his outer Jedi robes and gives you an almost identical set. Probably dyed to a more girlish blue. "It's time to go outside towards one of the waterfalls, Nyla. Apparently, you need more practice at quieting your mind, and I find Alderaan's natural setting to be more quiet and peaceful."

Seth leads you to his Thranta, which seems to be enjoying itself hovering in air even while flapping it's long wings. "Oh, did you bring some clothes you can get wet in, Nyla? I also want to do a little endurance training."

To Chal:

Chal, you get a message through the Holonet. It's from the Hutt. "So, have you found allies willing to take you in?" asked Valaluu. "If so, I have a little errand I want you to run. I want you to slice into House Thul's computer network and look for anything we can use against them. You may need your new allies if you don't want to get into a fire fight."

Valaluu was insistent. Or planning something if he wants you to slice into House Thul's network and find something he can use against House Thul. Perhaps he wants to blackmail them for some purpose.

Nyla had a hard time quelling her disappointment in herself. She bows her head low when she's issued the outer robes and is thankful for the opportunity to hang her head ." Indeed, My instructors on Tython often told me that my biggest trouble was my tendency to lean first on intellect and not the Force." She gratefully puts on the new robe and manages a smile." I apologize Master, I'm confident that my trust in the force will only grow under your tutelage. There is much to be learned from Alderaan's beauty." She follows Juran to the Thranta and her eyes go wide in wonderment as she observes the majestic creature up close for the first time.Kn-Life Sciences 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

She doesn't take her eyes off of it as she nods an answer to Juran" I wear a maillot of Arkanian polymer beneath my robes, It serves as adequate waterwear. Shall we proceed?"

Returning to the ship Iona walkswith a purpose, deep in thught after her encounter with Lord Vandal, striding up the gangway and heading for her cabin.

"Kaath! We got payed, come collect your share!" she hollars down the corridor, not bothering to go look for her first mate, she never knew where he was, crawling in some duct or hal-burried down an open hatch. Queing her comlink she repeats the message through it just to make sure he heard her.

Entering her cabin she sits for a moment thinking on the implications of her recent buisiness. Swivelæing her chair she opens up the ships safe and transfers the ship's share into a credchip there, checkng the numbers she nods satisfied before turning to the computer and writing out a message to her granddad over the holonet.

Message:
Grandad.
The contract is done. Contact was a creep though his money was good. Looking for next asignment.
Iona

Sending out the message she punches up the docks job listings and sees if there is anything good to have above-board.
