No problem, I've had a crazy week too - combination of Easter weekend plus end of the financial year has been predictably manic.

What you know -
The Roche Asteroid Field is a cluster of rocks, varying in size from tiny meteorites to large planetoids, circling a small yellow sun. This extremely old field, located in the Roche system, appears rather orderly for a whirling storm of space debris. Its asteroids travel almost predictable elliptical paths around the system's star.
Of course, within an asteroid field, "almost predictable" still means trouble for visiting ships. Pilots must constantly be on guard against impacting asteroids that suddenly bounce into the path of their vessel, hullpiercing micrometeorites, and dense areas with no room to maneuver. And in an asteroid field, engine
failure results in certain death.Mynocks and space slugs inhabit the Roche field. The field is also home to the Verpine, a race of insectoid bipeds with a natural talent for ship building and other technological pursuits. These aliens, allies of the Alliance, live within the honeycombed interiors of the larger asteroids.
Two Verpine asteroids have been modified to handle the Rebel project. The Rebel Command Base houses Ackbar and his staff of Alliance engineers. They oversee the project from here. But the actual testing and construction take place at Research Station X, a large asteroid deep in the heart of the field.
A variant of the standard TIE fighter, the rc variant is used for long-range recon duties. One laser cannon is replaced with an enhanced sensor package, but this also allows for increased maneuverability. They are often deployed in crowded spaces such as asteroid fields or sent ahead of larger vessels in search of starfighter forces.
Typical deployment is a larger vessel dropping off a flight of TIE/rc and allowing them to gather data while they rendezvous later at some other point.

DM Ark - No probs, man, life is more important! Just let us know. When I get into that situation, I just drop a quick line in Discussion to all my players. Everyone here is very understanding, at least as far as I have seen.
One thing: keep it simple for yourself. If it becomes a chore for you to develop and keep it going, then you'll get burned out. That is one of the reasons I always use pre-gen stuff: modules, adventure paths, etc. I don't have the time any more to create my own, so I put my spin on what's already out there.

Hey, all. Catching up on the new posts now, I'm recovering from one heck of a flu bug that bit me over the holiday weekend. Sorry to drag it out.
This will be my first post using the dice roller, so I'm going to do it on my PC at home this evening before attempting it with my tablet at work.
Old Guy GM |
I would go for that, xyro. Maybe play Kellen as an NPC? You already ave the alias you can use.
Xyro could run it as is for a while, he just won't have control over tabs until Paizo shifts it to him. Which has to be requested by email. So... we could keep going a bit and see if DM Ark comes back. If not we can get it shifted.
Xyro can GM under Xyro, and play NPC as Kellen to keep us straight on who is talking.
Thoughts?
DM Xyro |
I wont be posting again until Tuesday due to the holiday. We will recruit for a new player if Jan does not turn back up.
Thrask the Trandoshan |
Made some minor adjustments. Went ahead and dropped agility to 2 and boosted brawn to 5. Adjusted a bit on the gear for a balanced hilt added to my vibrosword. Added on the extra xp for more Obligation and removed enduring to make the xp balance out. I'll be starting the game with 5 xp leftover.
Just to give a general look of lovely Thrask consider him to look a lot like this just a bit bulkier and black with orange finning (Flukes...horns...never sure what to call those)

Okay, upon reading through the OOC thread and reviewing the careers/specializations for EotE and AoR, I am thinking I will take Engineer (mechanic). It offers Piloting (space) twice, Mechanics twice and Computers once. This allows me to spread out my specialty to piloting, mechanics and slicing. I will be the party bard.
As for race, I am partial to the Miraluka. I know that they have not been covered yet and in looking at the forums at FFG, there is a lot of contention about them because of Force Rating. If it would be considered, I was thinking that they would be human with a special ability of Forcevision. Like Darkvision for other races, it would remove setback dice from concealment. No Force Rating, no special force powers behind it. Simple and straightforward.
If Miraluka won't work, I'll go with a normal human or Corellian human.
I'm starting on the character sheet now.
Jospi Renning |
Apologies for the double post. A few clarifications and questions.
1. Forget Miraluka; I have decided upon Corellian Human.
2. If I have a Data Breaker, do I also need Slicer Gear? The description of data breaker giving 2 boost dice instead of just one for having the right tool for the job seems to imply that you do not need both, but GM clarification would be appreciated. Do both/either include a Data Pad?
3. This is my alias. Please let me know if the character sheet makes sense and is correct.
4. Fluff to come tonight.

I would say that slicer gear and a data breaker can be used in place of a datapad, however sitting down at say a cafe with slicer gear or data breaker can bring some suspicion to legal ramifications is the right persons see you using it.
Slicer gear vs data breaker: I would say the data breaker covers the slicer gear and no bonus would be granted by having both, that being said there is a possibility of not wanting to carry the restricted item on your person if you are under law enforcement observation, etc.

Hey, I decided to do some of the work on my character, and I've completed everything creation-wise. I need to put down the backstory that I've been thinking of for the past couple of days.
I've decided to go with a Sullustan, since noone seems to give them much attention, and take the Gadgeteer Bounty Hunter Career. He should be able to handle combat, in space, walkers or ground. Additionally he brings some medical skills and gear and, obviously, some mechanical knowledge as well.
Just need to put down the details and ask if additional Obligation (in his case, probably Blackmail.)
I'll put some more details tomorrow, I'll be wrapping up the working week.

I don't mind having all three, and I have purchased all of them, but I didn't want to have to carry all three at all times. Now I can pick and choose which is best for the mission. I will add a commlink to finish out my gear.

Is it... a long con? :-P
So, we have three new guys, right?
Thrask, Trandoshan Hired Gun (Marauder) - Melee combat
Jospi Renning, Corellian Human Engineer (Mechanic) - Piloting, mechanics, computers
?, Sullustan Bounty Hunter (Gadgeteer) - Ship and vehicle combat, medicine, mechanics
Pretty cool. Also, a Corellian pilot is rather fitting, yes?
F. Castor |
I was referring to this kind of long con actually. What can I say, I was feeling punny... :-D
Thrask the Trandoshan |
Melee combat will be Thrask's forte though I probably won't put any more xp into it for a while. Probably be sinking more points into Survival and Coercion. I am also looking at possibly picking up the Medic (Soldier) tree as well at some point and putting a bit on medicine in case the medic goes down or we need a medic.
The Lion Cleric |
Regarding Medics, my character, Juviest Vood is versed in Medicine, and is also carrying a military-issue Medpac.
I want to thank whoever linked the character generation program, I have used it to complete Juviest's crunch faster than I could've possible done otherwise.
I will post the character later, but the general feel is mostly Cad Bane/Clint Eastwood inspired Gadgeteer, carrying two incredibly oversized blaster pistols, Umnub and Sulon, named after Sullust's moons.
Thrask the Trandoshan |
I don't know if you have had access to the Fly Casual book but there is a mod called paired that is 300 credits and reduces the linking cost to hit with both down to 1 advantage. There is also a Gunslinger tree that makes for an excellent second tree for someone trying to be like or better then Cad Bane.
The Lion Cleric |
Guns and Mods from Fly Casual were already acquired. Also, damn Trandoshans and their ludicrous amount of wounds.
Juviest Vood, Gunslinger extraordinnaire, presented below.

At his mouth is usually hanging a half-smoked cigar, chewed on by principle and only lit up when appropriate, paired with a sip of Corellian Whiskey. On his eyes a pair of protective goggles is always worn, as is usually the case with most aging Sullustans, as he openly admits to others. To aid in that protection, a large brown and incredibly worn hat is sitting on his head.
Seeing his acquisition run away, roaring wildly, he sighed, drawing a giant blaster pistol, flicking a switch on the way up. The stunning ray flew through the crowd, reaching the rampaging and roaring wookie straight between the shoulderblades, flying just millimeters away from the face of a street merchant just ducking down from the wookie's wrath.
Juviest stood for a moment as the crowd ran away, lighting up his cigar in the corner, keeping an eye on the prey. As a twi'lek ran away, her patting on doors echoing in Coruscant's eternal night, he took a sip of his flask and headed to pick up the mark. Taking out his binders, and stepping closer to the uncouncious body, a blaster bolt hit the mark's back, a last final roar filling the recycled air. A half-smoked cigar hissed sadly as it fell in a puddle, its ember extinguished.
How does a Sullustan end being a bounty hunter? That's the question Juviest answers for one final time, drinking the last remaining credits from his ship. Being set-up.
