As Xander, speaks with the operator she tries to keep him calm. It is not long before Xander, hears the sound of sirens drawing closer. Then the operator said something that Xander did not catch before a loud knock is heard at the door. Xander rushes to it and throws it open to see two police men and an ambulance behind them Xander, can also hear more sirens approaching.

One of the officers a stocky Latino woman, with a short ponytail then asks in a commanding voice"Where is she?"

Human

He steps back and just wordlessly leads the Officer through the house and out on to the small patio at the back. He steps back, to the edge of the patio and raises one hand, pointing towards the bloody number 9 and the once beautiful woman pinned there. As he did, he raised his other hand and clasped both behind his head, keeping them raised. "I... please help her. I don't know what to do... I didn't..."

Male ??? ???

The other officer, a male with short brown hair steps forward and begins to examine the body. "She's a goner." Xander, hears the cop mumble to himself. "Did the Killer leave us anything besides the usual?" The female cop asks darkly.

The male cop then sighs heavily and says simply "Nope"

"Well search around. Who knows, he might have F!$*ed up."

The male cop gives a wave as to say he understood.

The female cop then turns to you and looks at you very seriously. "I am officer Mendez. Now that you know who I am, tell me your name and the name of the victim. And what your relationship with the her."

Human

Xander frowns before dropping his hands down by his side. "You get called to a house and there is a dead woman pinned to the wall outside, you don't instantly just cuff the random guy standing there all dazed and..." He shook his head and glared. "I'm Xander Nivore, I work at Equinox, the club down town. That is where Tris worked too... She is Tris... Trish, sorry, Trisha O'Hare, she, she said she has parents in the city, her non is called Valerie." He laughed bitterly, before speaking again. "Sorry, her mom. Tris used to call her her Non as she was never really around, she was in the military. Tris... Tris was a friend... We went home together last night after work and a few drinks..."

He shakes his head and stepped forward. "Aren't you guys going to arrest me? What if I f!~#ing did it?! I didn't but... I mean you don't even know who I am... F@!@... What kind of sick freak can cut up a person like that?!"

Male Human Tough Level 3

Lucas stared at his mother, wide eyed in a moment of disbelief. He hung his head down and clenched both of his fists on the table. His eyes began to well up with hot tears that he began to desperately blink back.
No, Mia... Mia, my baby sister is gone... no, no, no! he took a breath that shuddered against his will and looked up. How can she be so calm?

"When?" was all he managed to croak out.

Male ??? ???

Xander, Mendez appraises you for the moment then says," We don't just arrest people without questioning them. Unless they give us a reason... Though yes I am going to have to take you in for further questioning."

Xander, is then escorted to the police station. Where he sits in a interrogation room for whoever to come in and ask their questions.

Male ??? ???

Lucas's mother hesitates for a brief moment then says, "They found her body early this morning."

Human

"I would have arrested me..." Xander stares blankly at the wall, feeling shocked and distraught, but unable to even shed a tear. "F&$$ Tris... I am sorry..."

Male Human Strong Hero

Tony looked down, his eyes closed, as he remembered searching for any sign of the criminal.

His speech was less slurred, slow, but focused so that he didn't disregard the seriousness.

I've.... I've known these streets for a while. I know you've heard of me, the "Last Maenad", I know one of your boys made me empty my liquor only a day or so ago.....

When I need a lighter, I can track it from the garbage. Same for anything- people, friends, free liquor. But this..... I didn't see anything that could show me where he went- if it had-

Tony grasped the edge of the table in his fury as he moved his gaze back up at the cop-

You'd have met me standing over their dead... crushed... body.

Clenching too hard on steel table: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 4 = 12

I forget exactly how DC works for hardness, but Tony is essentially clamping on the table so hard his fingers would leave a nice sized and seperate indent for each finger

Male Human Tough Level 3

He put a hand to his head and let out a strangled sob.

Last night... while I was out gambling someone was killing Mia.

"If... if only I'd been out there... looking for her, then maybe..." he whispered, barely audible even to himself.

Maybe she'd still be alive.

Male ??? ???

Xander, waits in the interrogation room. before long a policeman with short blonde hair comes in. And sits across from Xander. He then asks simply, "Did you do it?"

Male ??? ???

Tony, feels the metal under his fingers pressing in. Bently then asks in his gravily voice, "Why, are you so upset over a strangers death? She was a stranger, right?"

Male ??? ???

Lucas' mom, slaps the table. "You need to be strong, son. Especially, if we are going to avenge Mia. There is no time to grieve, if we are going on a wolf hunt."

Male Human Strong Hero

Tony kept his gaze with the man as he became aware of his grip, letting the table go
I might be a low time gambler, and yeah, sometimes a criminal. But this is still my city. I've lived here forever, know it like the back of my hand. I love this city. Anyone trying to hurt it hurts me. Curfews, cops become paranoid and jumpy and shoot a gambling buddy- it's bad for everyone. And I'm the Last Maenad! My God enjoys gambling, drinking, fun-

Murder is none of those. Being questioned in a tin box is none of those.

His headache from not drinking had started to return, his brain going fuzzy.

There's, uh, no chance of me getting a glass of some strong stuff, is there? Maybe some rum snuck into a coffee or something chief?

Diplomacy+ Improved Effort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Don't worry- outside of combat I won't cheese this too much- just when it fits that he, say, obviously really needs a drink or is pissed

Human

Xander pauses for a moment, staring at the man, before him, before leaning forward, drumming his fingers on the tabletop. "See you I like. You walk in to the room and there isn't any b#+!%*@@, you just get right down to it and ask me if I did it. Those other cops who picked me up...? If I had been the murderer I could have gotten away while they were still looking at the scene. Glad to see someone is serious about stopping this sick f+*+..." He shook his head softly, sitting back.

"No I didn't f#*@ing do it. She was a friend... maybe coulda been more than. I know I wouldn't have hurt her, no matter how f%*&ed up I was. I am not a violent person, I am a screw up and a f*$~ing idiot at times but I believe in a non violent approach to life. Well... until I woke up and my friend was cut to ribbons and pinned on a wall like a butterfly on a cork board..." He laughed bitterly, running a hand through his hair and sighing.

"What else can I do for you Officer...? Do you need more blood? Another hair sample? Another urine sample maybe? I didn't f!!$ing see anything or I'd have fought the bastard who did this... She... she didn't deserve this. Tris was the best kind of person..."

Male ??? ???

"Nope." Says officer Bently, simply to Tony's request. He then continues with, "Look we ran your prints and all that and you have a record...Boy do you have a record. But everyone around here knows you and there is nothing that has us thinking you are the Countdown Killer. At least not right now. So I am going to let you go. Until you do what you do to end up here again."

After some walking and such, you are out in front of the station to resume being a waste of space.

Male ??? ???

The short haired cop questioning Xander, then asks,"Did She have any enemies? Jealous ex-boyfriends or girlfriends?"

Male Human Strong Hero

It felt good to have Wichita in his hands again.
Tony sniffed himself- he still smelt like liquor. Not a good look for the ladies despite how much he liked the booze.

Hailing a cab Tony gave a depressed sigh
They won't be able to find him... but maybe I could. I'll need to go home and get changed first, then I'll be on my way.

Human

"Yeah there was a guy, name of Zeke, but it couldn't be him... He's a Marine, big tough guy and a f#!&ing a$@$~++ but when we were drinking last night Tris mentioned he was deployed at the moment. Hell of an alibi..." Xander shook his head, sighing. "Other than that... nah. Most guys who catch Tris treat her bad but it usually ends with her heartbroken and alone, rather than with some psycho trying to hurt her. She was too sweet for that I guess..."

Male ??? ???

Tony, catches a cab and heads home when he arrives he changes into fresh fairly clean clothes and then heads to...

Male ??? ???

After the cop asks Xander, a few more questions he walks out of the room. Then comes back a few minutes later. "Well as of now there is no substantial evidence against you. So we'll have to let you go for now. But we'll keep in touch. "

He stands up and opens the door to lead you out as your near the exit. He mumbles in your ear, "Don't leave town." Xander, now finds himself in front of the police station.

Tony attempts to search and find for any sign, or anyone, discussing the Countdown Killer and/or cheap booze as he lights a cigarette and begins walking the city with Wichita.

Human

Xander searches in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a roll of bills. He counts them out then hails down a taxi. Once he managed to get one he makes his way home.

After a shower and a change of clothes, Xander is left staring at an old monitor in the corner of the room. With a sigh he pulls the back open, it had been loosened previously and was easy to pry open if you knew how, and pulled out a thick roll of notes from inside. He counted out the money, making sure he had at least a good couple hundred, before resealing the monitor with the end of his stash.

He lit a smoke he had just rolled, and fished his phone from his pocket, scrolling through the contacts till he found the one he wanted. He clicked the call button and stuck the phone to his ear, as he strolled out of his apartment, locking the door behind him.

"Hey, yeah it is me. Yeah I need to see you, today. You busy? No... no I am good for that, I just need a favor. Meet me at a bar called Ricos, I'll fill you in there and buy you a few drinks. F+$! man it isn't gonna be hard... I'm your best customer and you know it. Okay... yeah see you then!" The phone went dead and Xander strolled down and out of the building, kicking open the door as he did.

He took the stairs down to the underground car park and walked to the back of the second level down. Way in back, tucked in beside a beaten up old truck, was an old Panhead, covered in a ratty old tarp. The bike had been his fathers, Xander had inherited it and the leather jacket upon his fathers death. He reversed the bike out of the spot and threw the tarp over the truck, weighting it down with a rock, before taking a peak in the gas tank. There was about half a tank, he would need to fill er up later but for now it would do.

He reached in to the back of the truck and flipped open a crew chest, after unlocking the padlock. Inside were some tools, a well maintained hunting knife and a helmet, open faced in the old style. He grabbed the knife and slid it in to the sheath in his boot, before taking the helmet and locking the chest again.

He strapped the helmet on and kicked the bike to life in only three tries, a record, before slowly making his way above ground, giving the old Harley time to warm up.

"Don't worry Tris... I'll make the bastard pay!" He waited for a gap in Traffic, before turning out in to the street and setting off towards Ricos.

The person Xander called is his drug dealer. I'm gonna leave his or her personality and name to you. I just needed to get Xander in contact with some shady folks. ;)

Male ??? ???

Tony, does not hear any news beyond what he knows about the killing. He figures the police are keeping quiet for the moment. But maybe Tony, should check the news later in the day.

Tony, tries to be observant of any whispers or such on the Countdown Killer but he still has a headache so it makes things difficult.

Tony heads back to the crime scene to see what he see in the daylight. But it is taped off with a few police and investigator searching the spot.

Tony takes a closer look to find the body has been removed and a crowd has gathered around. Police are asking the crowd questions and such.

As Tony observes this for a moment he hears a deep voice from behind him say, "Tony? Hey man I heard you got taken in. How are you?" Tony, turn to see that it is a gambling buddy of his names Greg. He is often hanging at Rico's but lives near Tony.

Male ??? ???

Xander, gets to Rico's, and sits at the bar waiting for Hector. After a half hour or so, Xander, sees a skinny tall young man with straight slightly long sandy colored hair, hunched shoulders and a rather bored expression on his admittedly handsome face. Wearing a simple long sleeved white shirt a pair of blue jeans, along with a pair of black Converse shoes. Takes a seat in the bar stool next to him.

It was Hector. Hector yawns. Then without turning to look at Xander, asks in a dull voice, His British accent thick."What Is so damn important that you had to wake me up, and meet you in this piss pot?"

Human

"Good to see you too H... Always a f@~!in pleasure. Anyway..." He orders two whiskeys and grabs the glasses, leading the man to a back corner and a table there.

"Look, I'm not going to f**$ around, but I need something, something I know you can get me and I am willing to pay..." He pulls out the roll of cash, leaving it on the tabletop, his hand resting atop it.

"I need a gun..."

Male ??? ???

Hector sips his whiskey, grimaces. then looks at Xander. His eyes half lidded as if he were about fall asleep. Xander, would be worried Hector would fall asleep. But he knew the Brit, long enough to know that's just how he looked. The world bored him so.

Hector then asked dully, "What kind of gun?"

Human

"Nothing crazy, nothing fancy, just something that can be easily concealed and will put a hole in someone if I want to." He took a sip of his own drink and nodded.

"I... I have some business to take care of and I need something that will give me an edge."

"I do have another question, actually. What do you know about the killings going on at the moment...?"

Male ??? ???

Hector's eyes widen ever so slightly with excitement. He then says a little more enthusiastically, "I know that they are both terrifying and one of the most interesting things I have been alive for... As for concrete evidence on an identity... Lets just say only the dead can tell you that."

And for the first time in all the years that Xander, had known Hector, he saw him smile. And it made him look like the devil himself. Then Hector, went back to his usual self and said, "300 and I'll get you what you need." Hector, then counts three hundred from what Xander put down and then hands then leaves the rest. Stands up and says dryly, "Bye" Then heads out.

Lucas' mom then says "If we are going to catch the wolf we must first ask it's prey how they were devoured. Do you know much about the ruins in and around Spire city? Especially the Koi Tunnels near Kanji beach?"

She then looks at Lucas' puzzled face. Then continues with, "Inside the ruins is a treasure and Item of old that was placed down there. The item allows the living to communicate with the dead... You are a strong young man. So I am going to ask you to go retrieve this item. I need to stay and be their for my two youngest. Your father is being useless and weak right now. So can I count on you?"

Human

"Yeah... interesting." he said to the retreating back of his associate.

Xander sat back in the booth, frowning down at the tabletop, before sliding the money back in to his pocket. He stared at the tabletop, trying to figure things out in his head, thinking about all of the things that had happened since last night. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. What he really wanted to do, was go back to Tris's house and have a look around, see if he could find anything, but doubtless the Cops would still be swarming the place. He needed an older scene maybe...

Xander roll a knowledge current events or geography.

Human

I have neither so... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Male Human Tough Level 3

Lucas looked up at his mother, tears were begining to recede as understanding dawned on him. His mother planned to take revenge, he had never done anything like it before. He had heard that it was the wrong thing to do, but at that moment he wasn't about to try and convince her otherwise. He was going to go with her.

He nodded, his eyes drying.

"When do we begin?"

Male ??? ???

Xander, you struggle a bit, but you remember the first victim of the Countdown Killer was discovered behind Prescott lanes bowling ally. It had been a young man who worked there.

Male ??? ???

Lucas' mother smiled slightly then said, "As soon as your ready. Wait here a moment." She then heads out of the room. After a few minutes she returns carrying a standard backpack. She then hands it to Lucas informing him that it contained tools to help him along. "I don't know how long it will take you or what you will encounter but I am sure you will succeed." She then says with a note of pride in her voice, "Because you are my child."

Inside the pack is a clip light, 12 high calorie bars (Enough for at least three days) a canteen [ooc]currently empty 5 bobby pins, 1 med kit, Compass and a hunting knife Need simple weapons proficiency. Does 1d4 dmg She then says come with me for a moment. She then leads you to your parents bedroom. You see a katana on the wall she takes it down and hands it to you. "This has been passed down for many generations and protected many generations. May it also protect what remains of this one." Katana does 2d6 dmg. When used with the Exotic melee weapons feat. It can be used with one hand. For those without the feat it must be used with both hands and the standard -4 non proficiency penalty applies.

She then hands you her car keys and says, "I'll pray for your success."

Human

Xander slipped out of the booth and headed back up in to the alley to collect his bike. He kicked the bike to life, fitted his helmet, and set off for the bowling alley. As he rode, he focused on the task at hand. He had a killer to find and a friend to avenge. He was sure there were other people searching for this guy, maybe he should think about finding out the names of the victims and trying to find their families, see what was up. He'd need to find someone working the case to give him that information but... One thing at a time.

Male ??? ???

Xander, arrives at the bowling ally parks is bike and heads to the crime scene behind the joint. Perception roll, please.

Human

Perception-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Xander stared at the crime scene for a moment, and really tried to focus. He let loose that part inside him that was not all law abiding and a good upstanding citizen, and tried to look at the scene from the point of view of a criminal.

I dunno if this will help but Xander is going to think about each Crime Scene, from the point of view of someone intending to commit the crime. Can I roll a Knowledge (Streetwise) for that check or would I need something else. If Streetwise would do...

Streetwise-1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Male ??? ???

As Xander, studies the crime scene look at it from every angle he can think of including the killers, He notices a chain link fence behind him to that leads to a small wood of an acre or so. If the killer were to flee the crime scene and not want to be seen that may be the way to go... Though the police have probably thought this, and so far they have been fruitless in their search, but who knows, Xander may find something they didn't. Or... Xander you can go with checking the woods or you can give me another perception/streetwise roll.

Human

Xander dismisses the woods for a moment, frowning around, thinking furiously.

Streetwise-1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Male ??? ???

It hits Xander. What about the manholes?

Human

Xander begins to look around for the nearest manhole cover, searching desperately for a clue that he may be on the right track.

Male Human Strong Hero

Not so good, Greg. I was on my way to a nice night with a lady when we ran into this-

Tony points at the crime scene-

They took me in as a suspect and let me go this morning after I sobered up. Now I'm just trying to find the f%$~er that cost me one hell of a night of fun and got me in the drunk tank again. Have you heard anything Greg?

Male ??? ???

Xander, searches The nearest manhole off the side of the bowling ally.
He notices upon close inspection a bit of blood on the edge of the manhole cover. I'll just give this one to you without a perception roll. Don't say I never gave ya nuthin.;)

Male ??? ???

Greg then says obnoxiously, to Tony, "I heard your mom is a nice night. Ey ooooohhh!" He puts his hand up for a high five, Baby! A random stranger passing by gives him one.

Greg then says more seriously, "Seriously, I have heard some weird rumors though. People have been saying that some of the underground workers won't go down there anymore because they have been seeing and hearing strange things. Other reports say they have seen strange figures entering some of the old ruins inside the city. Maybe one of those freaks are behind the killings. This city is getting scary enough to make a grown man piss himself I tell ya. Though I am not to scared to pee on yo mama cuz she nast-ay-ay-ay! Bay bay! Haha!" He puts his hand up for another high five!

Human

Xander begins to pry up the manhole cover slowly, pulling the knife from his boot and holding it ready.

Haha Thanks. I appreciate it.

Male ??? ???

Xander, looks down the man and sees a ladder descending down below. He sees the concrete ground about 8 feet below. It is eerily quiet below but maybe it's just because he knows what may be down there. Will Xander descend?

Human

Xander looks around for a moment, frowning, before shaking his head and sighing. "What am I doing...?"

Is there anywhere Xander could buy a torch nearby, within walking distance?

Male ??? ???

Another bit of kindness from the GM. I am going to let Xander have a clip on flashlight that he forgot was in his coat pocket.
