Sphereworld: The Forest Kingdoms

Game Master DarkLightHitomi

On a strange world with no stars and month long days, there lies a vast empire still recovering from the civil war, and now new peoples arrive. In a small corner of the empire, people just try to make their way in life.

My Announcements

Here lies the discussion thread.
Character creation rules will shortly be posted in the campaign tab.

My Announcements

Homebrew race stats and info will be presented here. My phone has certain limits. When I get the chance to use a real computer, then I'll add that info to the campaign tab. From this point I'll use an alias for info so posts with information can be easily found (for those who don't know, you can look at the profile and there will be a tab that lists posts by that alias in order by most recent. Very good for finding specific info.)

The races of this world (known as Pada Jatira, or Dead Sky in tradespeak [common]), are split into the Goblinoids, the Fey, the Desh, the Zyphoids, the Cephoids, and the Crafted.

The Goblinoids are humans and related races. Dwarves came long before humans but it is believed they came from the same world and are related. Goblinoids includes humans, halflings (who are simply considered a short breed of humans), and dwarves.

The fey are the result of failed colony attempts. Several times, the goblinoid kingdoms have tried expanding into the Bleakwood. Usually no one returns, but sometimes survivors make it back, but changed and twisted in some way. The elves and gnomes are the common result. Orcs also are one such race, though they came from an expedition that merely passed through the bleakwood.

The Desh are from underground colonies beneath the borders of the Bleakwood. It is a hard living there, and the twisting effect of the bleakwood was much less, taking several decades to become noticable. The result are the drow, duerger, and dremon.

I will have time to create a character early this week.

My Announcements

Okay, I'll be here, hoping the new week brings more people. :)

The Zyphoids are basically winged tigers in form, though they have great magic and intellect. The have a crown of horn on their head with three points that can easily be used to attack. They small horn stubs along their spine and their tails. Their tails are long and useful for attacks or moving things, though grip with the tail is minimal. Their forepaws are ore like a raccoon's, so they walk on them, but they still have some ability to grab and manipulate things, though not as well as humans, and obviously they can't carry things in their hands while walking. They have two thumbs for a total of six digits per "hand." They have a coat of fur that is more like protofeathers. They have a natural aptitude for magic, particularly for manipulating things or for making themselves lighter (which makes flying easier). Like humand, the Zyphers have subraces, but they are far more recent and haven't divided much and most differences are cosmetic, with some change in wing size, coloration, and patterns.

The Zyphoids were the most advanced culture to arrive on this world and are the only ones with records dating back before their arrival here. They are the ones who brought manatech and established the empire. The Reaplings arrived with them as the Reaplings were refugees that arrived on the Zypher's homeworld some centuries prior.

The Cephoids are fairly homogeneous. They have only two varieties, salties and pondies. The only real difference is whether they are adapted for salt or fresh water. They all can survive in both, but salties find fresh water uncomfortable, and the reverse applies to pondies. They are very much like octopi, but with six tentacles. They can change skin color in a wide array of colors which they use to communicate, and they can change somewhat change the texture as well. Like octopi, they have no skeleton. They first learned to communicate with Reaplings, some of whom were able to live underwater, coming into frequent contact with Grettles.

The Crafted. Fealin and Reaplings are called the crafted as they are not natural creatures. The Reaplings were crafted by a great wizard before getting banished by the "gods." They can be crafted in many forms and sometimes the bones of other creatures will be used in making new ones. They also require a magic item which becomes the container for their soul. Their power is generally determined by the power of that item which is known as their birth item.

The Fealin were crafted by a wizard working on chimeras, who mixed Zypher and Elf magically. The resultant creatures were tiny, but also the first viable creatures the wizard made. Where they got the silk spinning ability is unknown.

P.I.A.A. is short for Personal Information Analysis Assitant. Something that was becoming rather popular before the civil war.

While I am still willing to participate, I don't want to do a solo campaign.

My Announcements

I see. Well it was worth a try.
