The work on the ship is still hard. As the crew has to take shifts it's still at the verge to not being enough people for handling the ship. But at least now the ship can sail around the clock.

With the coming of evening, a nor’easter off the Eye sweeps across the Fever Sea, bringing a front of high winds and a purplish-black sky. Even before nightfall, the hurricane lamps must be lit to pierce the gloom. As the ship rides up and down with the swells and sporadic rain lashes the deck, the strained clanking of a bell can be heard once again coming over the water. A red ship’s lantern shines in the darkness as the dark bulk of a derelict whaler looms out of the night.

"Yay, we're followed by a stale joke from the last century." Besmara sigh's. "All hands on deck in full garb. Man the siege weapons. Fifteen crossbows lined up to shoot everything that comes close to our deck. Ten pirates to cut ropes. The rest keep the ship going."

Just to be clear, is this the Deathknell?

Captain, do you want us to try to sink her and run or let her get close to see what we are up against?

Yes it is.

"I don't want to waste ammunition so it would be nice to see if shooting it has an effect before going all in with that. But I don't see how running would help." Besmara replies.

"If you think you can see something in that sea, your're welcome to check them out." she adds to Trytton.

Chance to fire a catapult is gone.
The Deathknell closes with the Kraken from astern, firing once with the great whaling ballista mounted on its bow.
Ballista: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
But the shot goes wide. The Deathknell is really fast and within minutes it's alongside and the grappling hooks come singing over to grapple the two ships together.

On board of the Deathknell are sailors that look a bit rotten and bony. Also the complete ship and everything on it is wet. The sails are ragged and one wonders why this thing moves at all much less at this speed.

Female Human Pirate (7) AC19/14/15, FRW+7/+9/+4, Ini+6, Perc+12, Sail+13

"I want none of these aberrations to set a foot on the Kraken." Besmara states. She takes a closer look at what these enemies are but she has no clue about undead. "Hey Sandara, what is it we're facing here?"

"These are brine Zombies. They are slightly more sturdy than living seamen but you best use slashing weapons to destroy them." Sandara replies after checking them out through the spray of the sea.

Damn Im not set for this. Oh well, Flips. Let me know a minute or so before you fire. I can enchant that catapult for you.

Narrator

Catapult is no longer possible as the Deathknell is too close already. You can shoot the ballista though. This would be the time to shoot bows and crossbows.

A dozen or so of these brine zombies pull the Kraken close with the grappling hooks and rope to tie her down and enter.

One of the first jumps directly into Estelle's fist. This hits rather hard. (But undead don't bleed)

Six zombies make it over to the Kraken. Most of the crew s!#@s their pants and doesn't dare to approach these. Because they have weapons that will hurt and kill them. But how to kill what is already dead?

The line of archers readies their bows and is glad to be out of reach.

As the ships are pulled together the zombies start jumping over. Some go overboard but they have no problems swimming and try climbing up again between the ships.
